I do not own any of these characters besides Adam and Cheyenne.
After that whole speeding stunt involving them and their three new friends, Adam and Cheyenne were reprimanded by their parents, especially when Cheyenne's mother came home and heard of what had occurred, and she scolded Cheyenne so badly that the poor girl was almost reduced to tears.
Needless to say, they were grounded. But since this was their first offense. Their parents settled with a simple 1-week sentence.
That week went by quickly and soon enough, both kids were free. Adam woke on a crisp Friday morning and sat with his father at the kitchen table, eating breakfast.
Moe looked up from his newspaper and watched his son eat his breakfast. He smirked. "You better not get yourself in trouble today, alright."
Adam rolled his eyes, swallowing his cereal before speaking up. "Dad, you got to admit, what happened last week was kind of fun." He chuckled.
Moe set his newspaper aside and looked sternly at his son. "Listen here, I hear a lot about the famous duo, and I don't think you should associate with them. At least, not associated with any of their crazy inventions."
"Dad, I was having the time of my life. Even Cheyenne was having a blast. I'm more than happy to go see them and try out their latest invention or whatnot."
"Son, so help me god, if I hear about any ruckus caused by you, Cheyenne, or any of you guys' friends, you're not going to hear the last of it once I'm through with you," Moe threatened, wagging his finger at Adam.
Adam scoffed before hopping off of the table and picked up his backpack. He exchanged no words with his father. He sometimes detested his father. Don't get Adam wrong, he absolutely adored his father. He was perhaps Adam's true best friend besides Cheyenne, but Moe, like most fathers, can get deep into his child's nerves VERY easily, and Adam would become too stubborn to even come in contact with his father whenever he feels agitated by the older man.
Adam just decided to cool his frustration on his way to school. He was bummed he had to walk, as Cheyenne had an early Fireside Girl's meeting, but at least he could meet up with Phineas and his brother once Adam makes it to school.
Phineas shut his locker as he had his notebook, textbook, and pen ready for the first period. He looked around and saw a decent number of students by their lockers, chatting with one another. His brother was at home with an ill stomach so Phineas was alone for now. He was confident he would be able to have a good time with Adam today. It was great making a new friend, and by the looks of it, it seems Adam may be around for a long time.
As Phineas was walking to the first period, a cold and familiar voice was heard from behind him.
"Hey, freak!"
Phineas turned and shook at the sight of Kevin approaching him.
Kevin snickered, "Never thought I would see you without your brother, or even your little friend."
"Leave me alone, Kevin!" Phineas barked. "Don't try anything you'll soon regret."
Kevin just laughed as if he had heard the world's funniest joke. He grabbed Phineas' shirt collar and lifted him, before slamming him against the lockers.
"This is gonna end painfully for you," Kevin whispered menacingly into Phineas' ears. Many students stood by as they were petrified to even stand up for Phineas, fearing to be demolished by Kevin. Kevin McCormick was perhaps the most notorious bully in the entire school. Words have it he had almost driven a young boy to suicide, and simply laughed about it. It was such a shame he would target someone as smart and imaginative as Phineas, though people had no idea what beef Kevin had against the red-haired genius.
Kevin raised his fist, but just when things were going to turn bad for Phineas. A voice hollered from behind Kevin.
"Put him down, asshole!"
Kevin turned and widened his eyes as he saw the shorter boy that had dealt with him the previous week standing behind him, with his arms folded against his chest, staring at Kevin with a cold glare.
The students backed away from the scene. Many of them didn't know much about Adam and obviously had no idea what he was capable of. They simply saw a kid who was shorter and slimmer than Kevin, who dared to stand up to him for a friend.
Kevin cackled, "Well, if it isn't the freak's old pal."
Adam narrowed his eyes. If looks could kill, his glasses would have snapped and so would Kevin's neck.
"Put him down, Kevin," Adam ordered.
"Or what?" Kevin barked defiantly.
"Put. Him. Down."
Kevin glanced over at Phineas, then to Adam, then back to Phineas, then back to Adam. Soon enough, Kevin reluctantly agreed and threw Phineas to the ground, causing the red-haired boy to groan as he made an impact with the ground.
Kevin approached Adam, "Do you have a problem, puffy-hair boy?"
"I should be asking you that question, dipshit," Adam said plainly. The other students snickered in disbelief at Adam's rebellious behavior towards the bully.
"Listen here, dude, in my turf, no one steps up against me," Kevin threatened, pointing his finger towards Adam.
Adam took one whiff and covered his nose, smirking. "I can smell and see why!'
Many other students, including Phineas, burst out into laughter at Adam's comment. Kevin looked around embarrassed, before glancing back over to Adam.
He grabbed the dark-skinned boy's shirt collar and lifted him off the ground. "Alright, kid, time for a lesson."
Adam glared down before replying. "Yeah for you." The other students gasped as Adam kicked Kevin in the gut, causing the larger boy to squeal. Once Adam was free from Kevin's grasp, Kevin swung at him but missed. Adam's quick reflexes allowed him to dodge every strike Kevin attempted until a sickening crunch was heard.
Kevin backed up against the wall as he felt the blood come from his nose. The students were all in disbelief at the amount of strength Adam had. It was impressive, especially from a scrawny-looking kid like himself.
Once Kevin was able to regain control, he growled at Adam, who was helping Phineas up.
"You okay, Phin," Adam asked.
Phineas looked up and scratched his head. "Yeah, thanks."
"Don't take me for a fool, Tee boy!"
Adam turned and gasped as Kevin charged towards him. He pushed Phineas out of the was and using his agility to hop over Kevin's entire body. Kevin them lost control and slammed his head into the locker. His head began throbbing, but Adam was not done. It was about time this guy was taught a lesson.
The next thing Kevin knew, Adam kicked him in the shins, causing Kevin to squeal. Then, with all the power he had in his legs, Adam did a superkick to Kevin's temple, sending the larger boy to the ground, completely knocked out...cold.
Adam breathed in and out at Kevin's unconscious and bruised body. Soon, he was met with a round of applause from many of the other students.
Adam looked around and was flattered by the cheers. He blushed as a few cheerleaders even threw flowers at him. Phineas walked up to him and smiled.
"Thanks, dude!" He was extremely grateful for what Adam had committed. But then, the celebration was cut short as a cold voice was heard from across the hall.
"ADAM TEE!"
Everybody froze as the tall, muscular, bald teacher with a unibrow approached the scene.
Adam laughed nervously, "Principal Lang. Listen, I can explain-"
"Save it!" Land barked. "In my office, NOW!"
Adam shivered at first, but the thought of getting in trouble with his father didn't bother him too much. So his attitude faded to an unemotional one as he walked past the principal and towards the office.
"YOU SENT A BOY TO THE HOSPITAL!" Cheyenne hollered over the phone. Adam had called her later in the night after his father picked him up from school. Adam was now suspended and his father was pissed. Adam really did not care. He taught a jerk a lesson, so he really did not mind hearing the loud reprimands he received from his dad. Adam was set to his room when he finally decided to give his friend a call.
"Cheyenne, trust me, I have absolutely no regrets for teaching to asshole a lesson."
"What did your father do?"
Adam scoffed. "Trust me, for years, I never really cared about what my father has to say to what I do anymore."
"Adam, please, you won't get through school with this behavior. How did you get this from?"
"I honestly don't know. I mean, I remained emotionless ever since my mother left, and my father hasn't done me any favors, so I guess me being moody for a while kind of contributed to what I did."
Cheyenne sighed, "Maybe you need to talk to your father about this. Maybe your rage and temper may cool if you come clean to your father about what happened that night years ago."
Adam couldn't help but believe that Cheyenne may have been right. That sad memory has haunted Adam for many years, and the only person he had come clean to was Cheyenne. He never mentioned what had occurred to his father, and maybe whenever one would mess with Adam may have fueled his rage that he felt about losing his mother, which had resulted in driving Adam to send a much larger boy to the hospital.
"Alright, Chey'," Adam caved in. "I'll come clean...after my punishment is over."
"Okay, I'll call you later."
"Alright, bye, love you, sis."
"Love you too, bro."
Adam hung up his cell phone before throwing it off his bed. He needed to sleep to cool off. Perhaps after his two-week suspension is over, he can finally talk to his father.
He laid on his bed and drifted off to sleep.
I hope that gave an insight into how Adam is, which is extremely tough. One of those characters that look weak but has the strength of a half-blood. Plus, the next chapter will revolve more around Cheyenne and her characteristics.
Anyway, see you guys in the next chapter.
