One week later

"I associate this place... Is it...not...why am I here again? Here again!" said Bolt slowly rising from the dark as night ground. He could see nothing but the outline of his front paws, which looked as if they were black in the faint, pale light.

"Why am I here? What purpose does this have?

I am in my head... But why is it leading me to such a place?" wondered Bolt, not knowing why he was in this dark void again. The last time it happened to him was over a week ago. Now it was the second time he found himself here. Having nothing to do, the dog walked uncertainly, before each cautious step he tried with his left paw if the surface in front of him, which he was going to step on, was stable and there was no hole in front of him into which he could fall. He strolled along like this until he decided that it would be in vain to look for a way out of his head.

"I'll just wait," stated Bolt laying down and closing his eyes. He tried to fall asleep, but the deafening silence that reigned around him prevented him from doing so. The lack of sound distracted his mind effectively. Soon, however, a quiet sound could be heard from the distance. Bolt didn't pay much attention to it at first, he figured he was starting to think he heard a voice. That changed when he recognised the quiet female voice that was being spread by the loud echo.

"Bolt!" cried the sound in the distance, which caused the dog to immediately stand up straight beginning to look around.

"Penny?" asked Bolt looking for the source of the sound.

"Bolt!"

"Penny, don't move, I'll find you!" shouted Bolt running in all four directions looking for anyone, but he could see nothing but darkness.

"Just so there's..."

Suddenly, a trickle of light appeared in the distance.

"Lightning!" in the radiant light stood a young girl of medium height with short hair, it was Penny.

"Penny, don't run away, I'm coming to you!" shouted Lightning, then started running towards his owner. He ran as fast as he could, extending his front paws as far as possible to gain as much momentum as possible. He immediately began to take deep breaths and stuck out his tongue to take in more air. Although he was running towards her, the girl was at the same distance from the dog, even a little further away.

"Thunderbolt!"

"Penny, I'm running, I'm already running!"

Despite Bolt's words, the Girl started to move further away, until finally she disappeared again into the night darkness disappearing.

"Penny..." Lightning sighed. He no longer had the strength to run further, he slowly stopped falling to his paws from exhaustion.

"You can't" another female voice rang out from behind Bolt.

"Why?"

"You can't..."

"Brrrr!" opened Bolt's eyes wide lifting himself off the floor. He quickly surveyed the area he was in catching everything he saw. He was lying on the floor under his lady's bed with his friends. It was a dark night, the moon was hidden behind thick clouds. Everyone was asleep except him. A storm was raging outside the window. Furious raindrops were attacking the glass hitting the window and falling down, further there were audible thunderclaps every few seconds.

"That strange dream again..." sighed Lightning with relief. He didn't hide the fact that he was glad it was just a dream. On the other hand, the question remained, why was he dreaming something similar again?

"Supposedly dreams mean something... And that's what Penny says at least..." sighed Bolt. For reassurance he lifted himself up to rest his front paws on the edge of the bed to see if the girl was there. He smiled warmly when he saw her covered in a warm quilt.

"It's just a silly dream Bolt, you have nothing to worry about" acknowledged Bolt already more calmly. He lay back down in his waking position. He looked at his friends once more to be sure they were asleep.

"It's all right. Good night Bolt" thought Bolt, then closed his eyes falling asleep.

A few hours later

"Bolt, Bolt!" the first voice Bolt heard in the morning was that of Mittens, who was by his side when he woke up. The dog didn't know too much about what was going on, as he first looked around. He was surprised when he realised that Mittens was in front of her.

"Mittens? Did something happen? Where's Rhino? And Penny?"

"Relax, nothing's happening."

"Then why are you waking me up?"

"Well... Ekhm... It's quite late, and you haven't woken up yet. And anyway Penny has been up for a long time and looks like she's getting ready to go out" informed the cat. The last piece of information made Bolt express a slight bewilderment on his face.

"Going out? She didn't tell me anything about going out. Maybe she wants to surprise us" said the dog thoughtfully.

"Rhino and I are betting she's planning a surprise for you, with us she rarely ever goes out..."

"Relax, Penny when she plans something it's for all of us. What's our hamster friend doing anyway?"

"He watches you, what's he supposed to do?" replied Mittens, to which Bolt responded with a laugh.

"Yeah, I don't think Rhino will ever change. It feels great to live with your biggest fan..." Bolt said. As he said this he turned his attention to the ajar door, he noticed Penny in it, who was dressed very smartly and had makeup on.

"Strange, Penny rarely dresses so labelled and puts on makeup... There must be something very special going on' thought Bolt as he watched the doorway continue.

"Hello kitty are you alive?"

"What, Ah, sorry... Let's go downstairs" suggested Bolt as he walked through the door to then go down the stairs with Mittens.

"Hi Bolt!" shouted Rhino immediately when he spotted him. He was just watching a rerun of the latest episode of Bolt's show.

"Hi friend, I see you're not bored?"

"Are you kidding? It never gets boring for me!" exclaimed an excited Rhino.

"Well, well, enjoy watching" said Bolt heading for his food bowl. There was already food placed on it, which also surprised the dog as Penny's mother always fed them when they got together.

"I don't see Penny's mum either. She's probably getting Penny ready to leave" thought Bolt while eating. Meanwhile, Mittens sat down with Rhino looking to see if Bolt would overhear them.

"Did you tell him?" asked Rhino.

"No, I didn't dare..." admitted Mittens.

"Ekh... You know how Bolt doesn't like Penny hanging out with someone. It won't be good for him."

"I know, but he started talking like that, I didn't want to ruin his mood..."

"Penny are you sure you're ready?" asked Penny's mum coming down the stairs, followed by Penny. Bolt hearing their voices turned around. He was surprised at how nice Penny looked.

"Wow... I don't think she's looked this good before. Admitted Bolt upon seeing his owner, who looked really nice. The elegant outfit, the nice straightened hair, and the makeup all made even Bolt impressed. And he had seen her in different versions, thanks to the make-up artists.

"Yes Mum, it's all here. Lucas is already waiting," Penny said at which Bolt's heart seemed to die. His reactions were noticed by Mittens and Rhino looking at each other with sadness and regret.

"That's what I was talking about" muttered the hamster looking at Mittens.

"Oh, come on, you could have gone to tell him that too".

"He's dating that boy..." thought a surprised Bolt.

"Are you taking Bolt with you?" asked Penny's mother. This moment most likely spoiled Bolt's entire upcoming week.

"No, we can go now," stated Penny. Mittens and Rhino stared in disbelief at Bolt who, was stunned by this news.
