Third-person pov
Loki woke up again from the same nightmare, at first, he was confused because he wasn't in Natasha's room but then he remembered the events of the other day and that he and Natasha weren't in her home anymore but a strange place and he didn't like the strange place because of the man who gave them the keys to the room were staring at Natasha weird and he didn't like it. Loki didn't like anything; he wanted to go back to Natasha's home and sit on the couch and watch many cartoons, he wanted to sit and watch play games on the Midgardian device they called a tablet. But he always had to ruin every good thing that ever happened to him and that made him cry harder than he was already crying.
Natasha who had felt Loki shift on the bed she knew it was another nightmare he was always having them and she was always there to comfort him since Thor was a deep sleeper and wouldn't hear Loki waking up from his nightmares. Natasha pulled Loki closer to her chest and ran her fingers through his hair he turned to face her and instantly buried his face in her shirt as he held onto her, she sang the Russian lullaby of the big wolf of course it was about a wolf coming to eat kids who didn't go to sleep but Loki didn't need to know that. Natasha switched lullabies doing some Americans before stopping and realizing Loki fell back to sleep, it didn't take long for Natasha to follow. She would need all the energy she could get for tomorrow.
Natasha was the first to wake up. She took a shower and quickly got dressed in the basic white t-shirt and blue skinny jeans and the white converse from the day before, seeing the time Natasha knew it was time to wake up Loki. After waking up Loki, Natasha helped him shower and get dressed, after they were both dressed they went to a deli and got breakfast. Natasha's contact knew that he should be expecting them soon. They were good friends so Natasha knew it would be really quick.
When they got on the bus she felt Loki tense next to her he really didn't like crowded place let alone want to be trapped in a moving vehicle with a whole bunch of people and knowing New York transit it got crowded real fast, paying for their fair and took a seat with Loki sitting on her lap hugging his bunny she had tired making him leave it at the motel but he had wouldn't let it go so she let him bring it but if he lost it that was on him and it wasn't likely he would find it again since they were leaving New York.
"Your son is absolutely adorable." An elderly lady told Natasha as she sat across from Natasha and Loki.
"Thank you," Natasha responded to keep the conversation minimal and she was happy to see that the elderly woman wasn't the type to keep conversations going because Natasha really wanted to keep the smiles until she had to keep her cover. When their stop came Natasha led them off the bus with Loki gripping her hand and staring at the world around him with wide eyes. Natasha had forgotten that he came from Asgard and everything was new to him.
They took a series of turns and walked about 15 blocks before Natasha led them down a dark alley she picked Loki up as they entered the alleyway she knew what happened in this alleyway and she was always careful when she came in and when she left, her grip on Loki tighten as she saw some man lingering gazes as they passed, she was glad when she came to a stop at the door and she knocked with Loki still in her arms.
"Come in." One of Victors Lackeys told her he was smoking a joint which made her glare at him she didn't want Loki inhaling the smoke and she hated the smell of smoke still glaring at the lackey who was looking anywhere but her she made her way to the living room where she found Victor who looked the same but he may have had a new tattoo," Natalia it's been a while." He said as he came to approach her he was going hug when he saw Loki in her arms narrowing his eyes at Victor.
"Victor good to see you too. Have what I need?" Natasha asked, she and Victor knew each other for a while now he met him at a bar, they hooked up once or twice but that was it, he knew she wasn't looking for a relationship and neither was he, he also made good fake papers," Always straight to the point aren't you? Yes, I got it, and consider this a favor." Victor said as they went to another part of the building where Natasha saw the camera prepared to take Loki's pictures and a lackey to take it.
"Loki, I need you to stand over there okay and stay still okay," Natasha said as she placed Loki down and led him to where he was supposed to take his picture. He nodded as he watched her leave where Victor was standing she made sure to stay in his line of sight.
"The kid ain't mine right?" Victor asked as he handed Natasha the packed manila envelope which contained her papers and a hefty amount of cash, along with a burner phone," No." Natasha answered with an eye roll as he handed her a gun which she tucked behind her back.
"Are you sure? He looks a little like me." Victor said as they watched Loki get his pictures taken
"He isn't yours," Natasha said
"How old is he?"
"He's 3. Isn't that enough pictures?"
"Yeah. Yo, that's enough leave the kid alone." Victor said to his lackey who stopped taking pictures of Loki who made his way back to Natasha and held his arms up to her causing her to chuckle as she picked him up and hoisted him on her hip and walked to where Victor was filling out the rest of the information need to make Loki's papers before printing them, which took about 20 minutes before everything was ready.
"Be safe Natalia. And please don't get my child killed in the process." Victor joked as he handed Natasha Loki's papers during the whole process he kept calling Loki his son and Natasha was tired if correcting him so she just rolled with it," Little man I want you to protect your mama for me she can be hard-headed sometimes and forget to take care of herself." Victor said to Loki who took a moment before nodding his head and ponding Victor's awaiting fist which Natasha found was rather cute.
"Thanks, Victor," Natasha said, giving him a smile," Anything for my baby mama," Victor said as he walked her and Loki to the door with one final nod Natasha was out the door with Loki whose head was laying on her shoulders.
They were halfway down the block when a black car parked in front of her before she could panic she saw that the driver was Tony," Hop in Red." Tony said flashing her a smile, she put Loki in the back which had a car seat installed before sitting in the passenger's seat," What the hell are you doing Stark?" Natasha asked as Tony drove to God knows where," They knew you were staying at the motel, and plus I kept tabs on you." Tony said," And what if you're being followed?" Natasha said as she glanced out the rearview mirror to see if anyone was following them," I put on a good performance and Clint thinks I'm mad that Loki was in the tower."
"What is he saying?"
"Clint thinks that Loki is mind-controlling you." Tony answers needing no clarification on who she was talking about," And Thor?" Natasha asked she knew this would be hard on Thor after Loki's first night at the tower he vowed that he was never going to let Loki out of his sight," He's okay Shield has him locked up in a cell but he's doing okay just wants to make sure you and the little guy are safe." Tony said as he turned back to look at Loki who was asleep, she felt bad that Thor was in a cell he didn't deserve that he was just doing his job as a brother.
"Well this is my stop, be careful Nat they're patrolling the routes outside New York and watching the bus stations," Tony said as he got out of the car Natahs saw that they were at a shawarma place and Natasha couldn't help but roll her eyes," There's also some pacifiers, diapers, blankets and a change of clothes for both of you and a phone for you intractable I made sure and some money. Call me if you need help." Tony said as he gave Natasha a hug and she allowed him," Thank you, Tony." That wasn't the only thing Natasha was thanking him for he was a good friend and person.
"No problem, get out of here and don't worry about any footage Jarvis is deleting it all," Tony said as he waved her from where she was driving before entering the shawarma place.
As Natasha drove through New York she knew that she would encounter trouble but that wasn't going to stop her from making sure Loki was okay and that Shield nor Odin got their hands on Loki every again, she could save him from the pain no one could save no one saved her from she could save him and she planned to do just that he wasn't the Loki she had first met he was an innocent child who didn't deserve what had happened to him.
