I can't think of anything to say here other than have a good day!

After the awkward bathroom encounter, Bella had received no more kisses. Instead, despite finding the whole thing amusing, River decided that they should probably both go to bed. What shocked Bella though was when River began to climb into the bed, placing extra pillows down the middle. "There," She'd said. "Now will you get in?" Bella didn't know what to do or say, still embarrassed by the whole Becca thing, so she simply accepted that nothing else would happen that night and climbed into the double bed, facing the wall of pillows.

Had she accidentally fucked up any chances she may have had? She didn't have the confidence to ask, so she simply lay there until sleep found her.

Thankfully, her dreams weren't sexual, but she couldn't help but wish they had been when Victoria's face appeared and had her waking in a cold sweat. She was lying practically on top of the wall of pillows with one arm and one leg over it entirely, but she couldn't feel River on the other side.

She awkwardly picked up her head and glanced across, seeing that the other side of the bed was empty and that sunlight was daring to peek through the curtains. She then glanced at the clock on the nightstand, shocked that it was already ten in the morning.

Faintly, she could hear the shower going behind her, but she blushed upon realising that wasn't all she could hear.

She felt a familiar ache as she heard the somewhat muffled moans coming from the other side of the wall. Immediately, she knew exactly what River was doing.

What was she meant to do in that situation? She knew she wasn't meant to just lay there and listen like some creep, slowly getting more and more turned on, so she all but jumped out of bed and to make the bed, trying to focus on the sounds of the sheets as she moved them and the pillows as she pounded them.

It wasn't long before River was clearly done, nor was it long after then that she emerged, wrapped in a towel with a stunning red flush on all visible skin.

Bella couldn't help but blush when their eyes met. What shocked her though was when she heard her own voice. "Good shower?" Had she really just said that?

Taken aback for a second, River grinned. "Satisfying." She replied with a shrug, making Bella's knees weak. Bella tried to notice anything but River, but instead, she simply found herself drawn to looking at her tattoos. That, however, was a dangerous game though as she found her gaze slipping to the very edges of the towel. Of course, River had noticed and was, in turn, watching Bella right back. "You know, Bella, if you want something, all you've gotta do is take it."

If anything was an invitation, that was it, so why the hell wasn't she taking it? Perhaps she was all bark and no bite. Whatever it was, she was silently thrilled when a loud knock came from the door, startling them both. "Half an hour!" Came a gruff voice from the other side.

River rolled her eyes. "Got it!" She yelled back, then turning from Bella to hoist her bag onto the bed and dig through it for clothes. "If you want a shower before we hit the road then now's your shot. We should have like seven or eight hours left, so no more stops other than snacks or peeing." Ah yes, there it was. Whatever Bella did or didn't do on this impromptu trip, she then had to live with for the week that she was back home with Charlie.

Without another word, she went and took a shower. She was quick, just washing and getting out, but by the time she was out, River was fully dressed in a long sleeved shirt that had the sleeves rolled up, a pair of well worn jeans, sneakers, sunglasses and a cap. She seemed to be toying with the cap's rip, flicking at it on her own head as she lay on the edge of the bed, her feet still on the floor.

Bella realised how easy it would have been to simply go over and climb into her lap, grab her face and start whatever she kept on ruining, but she didn't. Instead, she got dressed in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Unlike River, she was already cold.

Things were a little awkward until they got into the car, but not really for River. Bella noticed that whatever she was feeling, she was the only one. Sure, River seemed a little quiet, but she didn't seem bothered by what had happened.

The next few hours seemed brutal. It felt like they were stopping and starting at every set of lights, getting tailgated by a million and one other drivers, getting rerouted at every opportunity. Surely Alice hadn't foreseen this, had she? Bella briefly wondered if they would have to stop somewhere else for a night and felt her heart skip a beat at the thought of another night with River, but all too soon, they were reaching a sign for Forks and River was uttering "Thank god."

They were both silent the rest of the way. There was no music, no chatting, no laughing, just the sound of the engine and River's occasional tired sigh.

As soon as their tyres hit the roads of Forks, Bella was on edge. The whole ride, she'd been thinking about telling River to stop and jumping her bones, but now? Well, she was terrified to be seen with her to put it mildly. She knew that was insane, no one would look twice, but the idea that Edward was somewhere near, already watching. Well, she was on edge to say the least.

The worst part though was when they pulled up outside Charlie's and River asked if Bella wanted help with her bags.

"No!" She immediately yelped, wide eyed.

River, to her surprise, didn't look shocked. "Relax." She chuckled. "You're not gay, I get it. You know I'm not planning on doing anything, right? College is fun and all, but everyone knows you don't take that shit home." She shrugged, pulling her shades down from where they'd been pushed up her head.

Bella, for some reason, was shocked. Some part of her knew that anything between them was just fun, but to hear it out loud hurt for some reason.

Without another word, she climbed from the car and grabbed her bags. She rounded to River's window and thanked her, but that was all. Before Charlie could even jog excitedly down the steps, River had waved good-naturedly and was gone, driving off literally into the sunset.

Pretty please review for me?
