Stepping out of the cab, Akane took Ranma's hand and scanned the area. They weren't far from the place she'd gone to with Ryoga earlier that week. Assuming he'd be taking her back to the same spot she felt slightly let down until he crossed the street bringing her with him. It was still light out, but the sun was dipping. The deep orange crawling over the streets as it prepared to set gave her a comforting warmth.
"Here it is." He stopped her in front of a small metal door leading to an even smaller restaurant from the outside. She tried to not make a face but he could tell she wasn't exactly excited for this place. "I promise it's a lot better than it looks."
He held the door open and let her in. Walking into the eatery, she noticed that it looked to be some kind of Chinese restaurant, with few tables but a cute interior, bronzy wood and imported artwork donning its walls. A young woman around their age came up to welcome them inside. They weren't very busy, an older man eating alone and another couple that were too engaged in conversation to notice anyone else. The waitress stopped them at a table in the back and let them know she'd return to give them tea to enjoy while they looked over the menu. Akane removed her jacket, exposing her nearly bare shoulders as she rubbed her neck, trying to figure this situation out.
He'd been acting so strange all day and it had been catching her off-guard, making her act stupid and soft. She watched him as his eyes scanned over the menu, removing an arm from his own jacket as he took it off. She squared her eyes on him, furrowing her brow slightly. 'Something is going on here with Saotome. He's definitely the most attractive of these potential mates, but has been nothing but a bumbling idiot for the past few days. No charm, intelligence, confidence, conviction, generally anything I've been looking for and suddenly he's got it all in spades.' She thought, hand on her cheek as she lightly tapped her pinky against it. 'And I can't help acting like some lovesick girl. Maybe I have more of this soul to bury yet. I thought for sure I'd have complete control by now but maybe she's tougher than I thought. Still...something is going on and I'm going to find out what it is.' She continued to look at him until he lifted his eyes through his bangs at her and gave her a wide grin.
"You find somethin' you like?" She took her hand off her face and grinned wide back.
"I was just admiring the restaurant." She served back, he chuckled slightly.
"Sure, you were."
"I was! I like the decorative interior, you'd never guess from the outside. The ornate wood looks so lovely." She ran a hand up the lacquered wood next to their table. "What made you choose it?" She asked the wall.
"They're the only place I've found that makes this dish I loved while the old man and I were traveling through China. Found it a couple months ago and occasionally sneak over here for lunches to have it."
"You never thought to ask Shampoo to cook it for you? I would think if anyone would be familiar with the dish from China it'd be her. Plus, she gives you free food so often, seems it would be more beneficial for your wallet."
"Do you really want to spend this date talking about other girls, Akane?" He raised an eyebrow at her, his lips turning up slowly. She pursed her lips and looked away, instead deciding to look at the artwork. She could feel him staring at her, smiling that dumb, adorable smile at her.
"No. Let's talk about something else." She turned back and smiled at him. "Like the sudden interest in going out on a date." He jokingly groaned.
"C'mon babe, gimme a break here. Can't a guy change his mind?"
"After the way you've acted since I met you, you've made quite the change it seems." She pried, a cunning smile on her lips. "And who said you could call me 'babe'?" She swirled her pointer at him, her smile growing. He leaned forward over the table, and grabbed her finger between his thumb and index finger, a matching grin on his face.
"Alright, maybe you're right. Maybe it was always on my mind." He put slight pressure on her fingertip. "And you are a babe. You know that." Her face reddened slightly; his warm confidence seemed to be running through his touch. She was trying to think of something to counter with when their waitress returned. He could tell she was enjoying these moves, sure some of it he was laying on kind of thick but it would be no time before that spirit was out and they could go back to normal.
Ordering food together, he had another thought. 'Normal'. Did he want them to go back to normal after this? How was he going to explain to Akane after all was done, the date, the flirting that it had just been a trick, that he'd done it so she'd be let free? Was she going to be upset that it wasn't real, would she even remember any of this? And while the herb certainly made him a better talker, the words were coming out faster than he even had time to think of a reply. He wondered if maybe some of things he was saying weren't just empty come-ons. He had been proud of the fact Akane had beaten the other suitors, he had wanted to spend some time with her alone, maybe in a quiet part of his heart he actually wanted to make something out of this. Out of them. The week had put somethings in perspective and seeing how closely he'd nearly lost her as a fiancée had made him re-consider what they were doing, at least what he was doing. Maybe this whole thing was the universe telling him something. He looked at her while she enjoyed the complimentary tea and thought if deep down, Akane would want to re-consider their relationship as well.
"Akane." His voice was serious, catching her slightly startled. She lowered the cup and nodded, waiting for him to continue. "I like you. I like you a lot. I need to know; do you like me too?" She smiled and looked away.
"Of course, I like you Ranma. Why would you ask that?" 'Why am I acting like a hormonal child, take hold of yourself!'
"Not as a friend, I mean as someone I want to be with." His face was stony and hard, his internal mind screaming over the fact he'd been so flippant with a confession like that. He kept his eyes trained on her as her face dropped, she looked to be breathing heavier.
"I... well I guess I like you in that way too..." Her heart beat was in her ears, her voice soft and breathy. She quickly snapped out of it 'What am I, 12?!' She blinked and looked down at her tea, slightly grumbling at how simple she was acting. "Why are you asking me this?"
"Because I wanted to know. Didn't you?" 'Why am I asking Akane all of this so sudden?! It's like I can't control my voice, it's just comin' out. It's comin' out so easy!' In his mind he was drowning but it was like his body had its own agenda, reaching out for her hand across the table. She looked at his open palm as she took a deep breath, the top of her dress pulling tightly across her chest. She took a small bite of her lower lip and lifted her hand and dropped her fingers over his palm, curling them to meet his own. She looked at their hands together, feeling an eruption of embarrassment that had to be still coming from Akane.
"Well, what about the other girls?" She teased softly as he threaded their fingers together. He gripped her hand lightly as she lifted her eyes to see his, beaming and bright. A small line of rouge graced her nose as he gave her a wide smile.
"What other girls?" He leaned across the table slightly, trying to take more of her hand to pull her closer to him. She let herself be pulled lightly before pulling back herself.
"Your other fiancées, dummy. How do you feel about them? What about their engagements?" He sighed and dropped his head.
"I don't like 'em how I like you. I'll call off the engagements. No problem."
"No problem? This is Ukyou and Shampoo we are talking about, they won't give up that easy. They always get in the way." She scoffed lightly, removing her hand. "And if it's not a problem, why haven't you already called them off, huh?" She leaned back in her chair; arms crossed. He put a fist under his chin and looked her up and down, squinting on her face.
"You're so cute when you're mad." He teased. She dropped her arms, her face flushing. "Alright, truth is I didn't know how you felt. I knew how I felt but didn't know if you felt the same. I had to be sure. And if you didn't, maybe I could learn to like one of 'em more. Plus, I hate lettin' anyone down, you know that."
"Why didn't you just ask me how I felt in the first place?" She challenged.
"Why din't you?" He countered; a sly eyebrow lifted at her. "You're engaged to me too ya know."
Why was Saotome so calm and collected, she was trying to get him riled up and he was staying cool and coherent. Not flustering his answers, he was matching her answer to question, question to answer. Was she getting soft in this body, soft in the brain and heart? Was this stupid girl already this in love with this moron?
"Come on, let's stop arguin'. I finally got you on a date and to admit you're madly in love with me-"
"I never said-!" She exclaimed, wide eyed and on the defense. He laughed at her reaction.
"I know, 'Kane. I'm teasin', you know like how I always do." He turned to see the waitress coming with their food. "I'm sayin' I got you on a date, told you how I felt, found out how you felt and now I want to enjoy it. We can figure out everything else later, right now I just want to focus on this, alright?" He offered up as his large spicy dish was placed in front of him, Akane's dumpling soup placed in front of her, she nodded through the waitress' arms.
They spent the dinner talking about the food and his journey through China, how this dish had brought back some memories of times before the amazons, before the curse. She teased him over how he ate, quickly and messy, talking with his mouth full as he talked about the pea-brain martial arts techniques his dad had been trying to teach him around that time.
They talked about school and friends, excited about graduating this year, sharing where they'd want to end up after school. He'd contemplated going to school, something that surprised her since he seemed to hate it but he thought may be necessary for a future. They joked about the weird people in their lives, the suitors, the nonsense they always seemed to be falling into.
After finishing eating, they continued to talk and joke with one another, taking some time to reminisce about adventures they'd had together. From her year of princely kidnappings, to the insane competitions they'd both competed in, sometimes together. Genuine laughter flowed out easily, the rolling of eyes at the overabundance of heroics he spoke of.
"But don't forget, you were still in a dress competing in that bridal battle too." She mocked him, pulling her short hair into a tiny ponytail a top her head, fluttering her eyes "'Saotome School of Floral Arrangement'!" She curtseyed at the table holding her hair up.
"That was all just to get that water, ya know that." He leaned in his seat, unimpressed with her imitation of him.
"I'm sure that was the only reason, Ranma." She joked, shaking her hair out. He smirked at her and leaned over the table, glancing at her slightly pouted lips.
"Yeah, maybe there was another little reason." He ran the tip of his tongue between his teeth, waiting for her banter back when the waitress returned to their table with a check. Dropping it in front of Ranma, she excused herself as she reached over to open the shades next to them, letting the dark from the outside creep into the shop giving it a cozier feel. Akane turned to look out the window, her eyes racing up the neon lights of the neighboring storefronts and restaurants. She smiled softly.
"We must've been in here a while, the moon's already out." She mentioned lightly, his eyes moved from her to peaking up to catch the brightly lit orb in the sky. His smile dropped slightly, focusing heavily on the moon. He'd never seen it so bright and large, so full as he was strangely drawn to it, feeling like it was pulling him and his very soul to it. He began to sweat, feeling flush and... hungry? He'd just eaten an entire dish to himself, there was no way he wasn't full. Something groaned in him, assuming it was his stomach he looked to check for a bathroom, spotting it behind Akane. She was still looking outside, admiring the bright lunar sphere that could be reflected back in her eyes. His eyes fell when she moved her hand from her cheek to the back of her neck, rubbing it slightly. The lithe way her fingers rubbed her shoulder, her elbow pressed into her chest, drawing a line of cleavage he'd ignored for most of the night. He felt the groan again, but it wasn't his stomach.
'What the hell's wrong with me?!' He was starting to panic, everything had been going so well and now he was feeling tremendously weird. He felt completely unlike himself, suddenly without discipline. He'd be struggling with thinking before speaking for most of the night but it had been working to his advantage he thought, that spirit by now had to be satiated, would be malleable to his suggestions. But now, he was losing more and more of himself in whatever was in this herb. Ever since this damn moon came out, it was like he was changing.
'Happosai! Didn't he mention a full moon?! What did that perv mean by it?' He shifted in his seat as Akane turned to look at him, worry on her face.
"Ranma, are you alright?" She reached out to offer her hand to touch his face, but he grabbed her wrist quickly, trying to laugh off the feelings.
"I... Uh I'm fine Akane, most be the chilis catching up with me..." He stammered out, closing his eyes as he held her wrist tightly. He didn't want to look at her, he knew he wasn't looking at her like she was Akane, he was looking at her like she was a piece of meat and he was famished. He was blocking out her worried words, trying to figure this out.
'Moon...wolfsbane...wolfs..bane...moon? What could this mean, why would that creep care about a full moon. Full moon...wolf...?' He was spiraling in his own head when the door to the restaurant opened and a burst of sudden wind came through the door, running itself through Akane and then through him. The smell of her hair and that scent emanating from that locket overwhelmed him and shot straight through his core, burning him through his lower half. It was then his voice of reason and consciousness left and was lost in his mind's eye, feeling all control he may have had be washed away. He dropped her wrist and squeezing his eyes, rubbed the bridge of his nose. He shook his head as if trying to quickly remember something.
"Ranma?" His eyes shot up, bright blue and wide like he had just woken up suddenly. She was waving a hand in front of his face, leaning over the table to get his attention. "I said Ranma are you alright? Do you want to go home?" He squinted his eyes and let them drop to the locket around her neck, he needed to do something with that but what again? Regardless it was in the way of getting at that soft skin and he let his eyes fall to her chest. A quick blaze seemed to pass through his eyes as he caught a slight glimpse down the front of her dress. In an instant, he was back to his confident self, leaning back into his chair with a wide grin on his face.
"Fine, Akane. Must have been the heat from the food catching up with me." She looked at him questioningly, something wasn't right. Though his eyes seemed brighter and somehow bluer, there was a darkness creeping around them that hadn't been there previously. That grin on his face lacked the teasingly cocksure confidence of earlier and felt suddenly much more predatory. Akane tried not to give too much away in her face or body language, but even the spirit found itself slightly on edge, on the defense.
"Right..." she answered lowly, pulling her gaze away from him she pulled her jacket back on suddenly feeling overexposed. She could hear his audible pout at her actions.
"Well, I guess I'll take care of the check huh?" He offered up, pulling his wallet out from his pocket, he slowly started pulling paper money out. She nibbled at her bottom lip as she bounced her leg underneath their table. Her head racing, she felt an internal warning signal in her stomach that was pulling at her to leave the situation, to get herself out. Finally finishing his counting, he waited until it seemed she was out of her own thoughts.
"You feelin' okay, Akane?"
She shook her own head out of the fog, trying to knock out her thoughts. Maybe he's just more confident than she thought he was. Besides there was something enticing about him, she'd felt it since yesterday. His growing interest in her, his self-assurance and open admissions of his feelings and affections, maybe it was time to commit to him as a mate finally. Swallowing her nerves, she smiled and allowed herself to be the demure maiden, to be pursued.
"Fine, just a little sad the date has to end is all." She sulked slightly, batting her eyelashes lightly.
"Who said it has to end? We could go somewhere else if you wanted?"
"Maybe like a dessert place?" She offered up. "What would you want?"
"You." A wolfish grin curving over the corner of his mouth.
She felt her stomach drop out of her body and knew she couldn't hide the expression on her face. There was suggestive banter, that she liked. But this was explicit and tacky, something the spirit was much less fond of. Her face upturned slightly as she let out a lame laugh.
"Ha... ha yeah. Maybe skip the dessert then." She pulled away from his thick gaze, suddenly more interested in actually ending this date. Maybe Saotome was bold, but she still hadn't accepted him as her partner yet, so for him to assume such a possibility between them lacked the respect she wanted. She moved her chair back slightly preparing to stand up when she felt an arm wrap around her waist and that she was already standing her on her feet. With her back arched, her eyes darted back from his empty seat to his grinning face above hers several times, trying to figure out how'd he'd been able to move that quickly. With a laugh that came out with a bit of a struggle she stood herself up and pulled out of the embrace.
"Such an uh..gentleman." She joked as she watched his face soften and instead offer his arm to take as they walked out.
They left quietly, the noises of the area and flickering neon enveloped them as they walked with no place in mind. He broke the silence first.
"Was there somewhere you wanted to go Akane? A movie or get something sweet?" The way he spoke felt slightly menacing, she quickly decided the idea of being somewhere in dark with him may not be the best decision, so a movie was off the table. As they walked down the small city's streets, arm in arm, she noticed how some of the women they passed seemed to be taken with her date. Girls whose faces were shining pink, turning their faces away coyly as they caught his eye. Akane, annoyed at the sudden attention he was getting, quickly looked for somewhere to go to get off the street.
"How's this place?" He stopped her in front of an ice cream spot, she slowly glanced up at him, a small smirk on his face as his eyes darkened. She lost her voice and just nodded, being practically dragged inside.
The shop was small but unfortunately full with no open tables for them as they stepped in, she dropped her arm out of his. He immediately placed his full palm on her lower back, pulling her along with him. He was focused on the flavors ahead of them on the board above the cooler, seeming to ignore the group of girls seated next to them giggling at his seriousness, but also his handsomeness. He quipped a quick eyebrow to the girls, a small smirk running up the side of his lips as the girls responded by covering their faces and turning away from him. Suddenly put off with his open flirtations, Akane stepped away from him to look closer at the flavors in the freezer below her. He ordered immediately, she kept her face upturned and knotted, 'This macho jerk, this is no way to make one feel pursued'. The cashier asked her what she wanted and she moved herself to point out the flavor.
"Mm, can I get the matcha?" As she bent slightly, she felt him run his fingers along her lower back as he moved to pay for both of their treats. She coughed, going as red as her dress and turned to him, mouth slightly opened. She stood back up, slowly making her way back to him as he stood waiting for her. The young man working the scoop handed Ranma his large vanilla cone, while he paid the cashier. Every small move and gesture he made oozed confidence and control, the way he seemed to naturally be able to get her to stand closer to him, the lightness of his fingers on her lower back as he moved her around other paying customers. Everything felt like a soft but firm guidance that did cause her to feel a little more wanted. A little more secure. She felt how her feelings were conflicting against one another however. The security of his touch but the lack of subtly in getting it.
They stood aside as the next customer paid and he leaned his shoulder against the cold wall, as he turned completely towards her. His eyes, deep and dark were attached to hers, as he lifted the swirled ice cream to his mouth. Her mouth went dry as she watched him drag his flat tongue lazily from the middle of the cone to the top, flicking the top as he pulled it back into his mouth. Her eyes went wide and horrified as she heard a girl from that table gasp audibly and drop a spoon.
"Miss, your ice cream." From behind her, Akane swung around nearly hitting the couple standing by her.
"Right! S-...sorry!" She quickly grabbed her cone and ran to the door, unable to bring herself to look behind her. She'd stepped just outside the door when she felt his arm snake back around her.
"Leavin' me all alone in there Akane?" She pulled out of his reach, tightly gripping the cone.
"What was THAT?" She went white and stood, trying to be nose to nose with him. He continued eating ice cream as normal.
"What was what?" He played dumb, continuing to eat as though nothing was wrong. "Watch your ice cream, it'll fall." He stuck his finger out to push the cone back towards her.
"I get it, you're trying to embarrass me for this week huh? Take me out on a date and then mess with me at dinner and then...then make vulgar gestures at me!" Her mouth was knotted up, her face angry and giving off that scared fox look, hair spiking back, eyes squinted. He quickly finished the cone he was eating and threw the rest of it away easily in a nearby garbage can. He looked down at her and his eyes softened on her, he put both hands on her shoulders.
"I like you Akane. And sometimes I like teasing you because I like seeing you riled up." His deep confident voice was new and she felt off balance hearing it. "Come on, let's go for a walk and that'll cool us both down huh?" He leaned into her personal space, bending his face closer to hers, his eyes dropping to her pouted lips, she watched the tip of his tongue slip out. Immediately she shot her ice cream in front of her face and grinned deeply. His smirk dropped and his annoyed face pulled away from hers. She began enjoying her dessert while he put an arm around her shoulder, trying to stay ahead of him and his ideas.
"Think I know somewhere we can go and relax for a little. You remember from only a couple nights ago." She looked up and there was the park again, she gulped and put her hand behind her head and laughed shakily.
"R-Ranma! Really that's fine...no need for that!"
"C'mon Akane, I insist!" And with that he'd grabbed her wrist and comically yanked her off her feet, speeding with her through the park into the more secluded woods. Having dropped her ice cream while he quickly moved past other couples and groups of friends, determined to get them as undisturbed as he could within the park, she yelped out and grabbed his arm to hold on for dear life. Taking that as a positive sign, he swung her forward and scooped her up in his arms as he jumped over the oncoming trees. She screamed as he hopped from tree top to tree top finding a lone spot, the other park goers looking on them, shocked.
Her arms and legs violently shook around her as he kept her in the air, screaming as he quickly dropped to the center of the outlying forest. He landed swiftly on his feet, a patronizing grin on his face as he kept her in his arms. Her disheveled hair and outfit gave way to the fact she hadn't enjoyed that ride and he gently let her down. Catching her breath, she looked up at him confused and concerned. Getting her balance back she leaned up against a tree behind her, slowing her heart down as she looked at his dark form stand still in the forest.
His eyes dropped to her heaving chest, bright pearl beneath the shimmering moon, the rest of her body dipping into the darkness. The sight made him feel stupid and giddy, suddenly feeling the cool demeanor he'd kept up slip. He quickly moved next to her leaning himself against the same tree. She yelped again turning to face him, his once stormy, dark eyes suddenly bright and beaming. His handsome, quiet face from only minutes ago replaced with a goofball grin as he propped himself over her, his palm resting over her hand. She shifted her eyes side to side, holding a plastered smile on her face. He ran his other hand through his bangs, dropping the goofy smile to a cocky smirk.
"You know 'Kane, off all your curves, I like your smile the most." He gave her a toothy, cheesy grin as he leaned closer to her. She quickly ducked down and moved away, wide eyed and trying not to laugh.
"What...did you say?" She stammered out, moving to another tree to hold onto on the defensive side and completely embarrassed by his change in mood. Her hand reached out looking for a tree trunk or something to get her balance together as he slowly crept closer to her, his leering eyes running over her body.
"I mean that isn't to say I don't like all your curves. You look great." He lurched over her as she felt her back bump against another tree. 'Damnit, I'm in the same position as I was with Hibiki and now it's just as bad', she looked up at him, pressing herself harder against the wood and choked out a fake laugh. He moved in; she could feel the radiating heat come off of him as he lowered his head to hers. "You look good enough to eat." He joked quietly as she peered behind his shoulder.
"Look over there!" She yelped and pointed, he quickly looked behind him.
"I don't see nothin'..." he turned back to find that she'd slipped away and was now rushing away from him at top speed.
She rushed through the forest, looking for some kind of way out or some semblance of a crowd, something was certainly wrong with Saotome and it had kicked her into flight. She felt like she could almost recognize the change, he was switching between some debonair hunk to a complete cheap creep. She stopped for a moment to catch her breath bent over, she let her head hang down staring at her feet feeling a warm wave of relief rush over her as she closed her eyes and stood back up, straightening than arching her back. 'This mate thing is really such a pain; it never used to be like this' she thought to herself as she squeezed her closed eyes harder.
"Hey Akane."
Her eyes shot wide open as she threw her head to face the voice, seeing that he was sitting on a bench only feet from her. She let out a high pitch yelp when she realized he'd caught up with her so quickly. He shot up to meet her again, this time going directly into holding her, his hands behind her neck and lower back. He walked with her closer to the bench, her legs tangled in his as he moved them forward, as is in some strange tango he was leading her in.
"Actin' so coy. It's pretty cute." He offered as he squinted at her, his thin smile across his face arching sharply at the corners. She managed to wiggle one arm out and pulled back to lay a hit when he dipped her deeply, her punch going through the air where his head had one been. She gawked as he kept her dipped in his arms, searching the grounds behind her while upside down. She tipped her head back up only to see his Cheshire smile hovering above her chest. She saw red and went for a second strike when he grabbed her fist in his and clicked his tongue.
"Tch, 'Kane you sure love playing hard to get. Makin' me chase ya and all." He pulled her back up so she was back on her feet. He opened his hand on her lower back and pulled her even closer as she came back up, he enveloped her fist in his bringing it to his face and kissed it softly. "Not that I mind all that much." Her eyes softened, the rigidity she had held lifting slightly as she relaxed herself. They didn't notice than that a large group of clouds had moved over the bright white moon causing the shadows around them to shorten.
Feeling small but secure, her face turned a soft pink finding that earlier confidence in his eyes. The anger from only moments ago washing away as he smiled softly at her. His boyish grin continued as he slightly moved with her, as if in a silent dance the two of them could only hear the music to. He brought her closer, tender and careful with her, the brashness and rude actions gone. Her heart was beating hard in her throat, thinking back to former mates who'd held her so carefully and sweetly. Finally feeling what it had been looking for this whole time. His thumb lightly rubbed her back as she felt him drop her fist and she let it fall to her side. Her lips pouted slightly, trying to catch her breath as she felt his hand go to the back of her neck, he was so strong and she felt so protected in that moment. She could see his certain eyes drawing closer to her face, his mouth inching to hers and he once again bent her back, she allowed him to deep her slightly. She began closing her eyes in anticipation, focusing on his ethereally bright eyes. 'Those bright eyes!' The change in behavior today, the way he'd pursued her, the way she acted stupid around him. And then the sudden change from romantic to creep, it was a full moon after all and she'd been captured. Her eyes went wide, breaking the hold on his as they darted to find the locket. 'It's wolfs-!'
Before the spirit could even formulate a plan or finish a thought, the typically shy Saotome pulled his long-time fiancée to him and crashed his lips against hers. Soft and sweet, his warm mouth ran against hers as she returned the pressure, bringing her arms around him as she tilted her head to better kiss him back. He moved his hand from her head to the front of her neck griping the locket, ripping it off of her. She gasped against his mouth and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, letting his tongue enter her mouth, she welcomed it, allowing her own to meet his. Dropping the now shimmering locket to the ground, he returned his hand to her hair, gripping the back and running his fingers through the strands. Akane felt flush and cleansed, like warm stream water pouring down from her head to the bottoms of her feet, as if something was flowing out and over her. Her foggy mind seemed to be clearing and she felt her consciousness begin to return. As if she was waking up from an impossibly long nap while sleepwalking, feeling sensations returning to her brain. And wow! It felt great, sultry and protective, but electric and... wet? What was that?
She gripped her hands to see if she could control them, pulling him closer in doing so which he took quite positively, pressing harder against her and viciously against her mouth.
'My mouth...oh my god' Akane's eyes slowly opened their lids as she tried to clear away the blurriness. 'I'm kissing someone...oh god!' Forcing herself to blink to figure out what was happening her vision made out those all too familiar inky black bangs. Her eyes shot wide open and with a mumph, she dropped her grip, ripping her mouth from his and grabbed his hunched shoulders.
"RANMA!?" Her face was sheet white and her mouth downturned and a look of shock on her face, he still held her as he had been only moments before. His eyes opened slightly, thick and dark they were focused only on her mouth.
"Akane..." He whispered back onto her lips as she felt her anger grow from her stomach and move into her hand. Sensing something was up, he opened his eyes to focus and saw her suddenly furiously red face, a deep scowl across it. He leaned back and tried giving her a halfhearted smile, she removed her hand from his shoulder and pulled back.
"RANMA...YOU ANIMAL!" The fist connected and sent him flying out of the park, soaring back towards the path.
