Imelda could feel her heart speed up with the priest's words confirming everything. She leaned closer to Héctor, and the remaining space between their bodies and their lips faded.

She closed her eyes and leaned into Héctor's touch as he wrapped his arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around his. She could feel Héctor run a hand through her hair, and she could hear the cheers of both of their friends-- for some reason that she didn't care to find out, Ernesto not being one of them. Then they broke the connection, and Imelda smiled up at him, her eyes then trailing down to his his orange suit and the way the sparkly designs on it catch the sun in shimmering detail.

Héctor returned her smile, his eyes shiny with adoration as he grabbed both of her hands and tilted his head in that way. The way that always seemed to make his expressions more defined and his eyes a bit larger. On this day, it made him look even more handsome than usual. Knowing that she'd be spending a lot more time with him after this made Imelda blush and reach up to touch his hair, reach for the few wayward strands and tuck them back into place behind his ears.

She leaned in to kiss him again, and everyone-- Imelda's parents, her brothers, her amigas, and everyone else-- cheered, her brothers throwing in their usual teasing glances and laughs and her mother tossing her an apriciateive glance.

Then the music started, Héctor pulling Imelda into the crowd as they grabbed hands and he spun her around in his arms, then twirled her at the highest note at the end of the song. Imelda could feel the skirt of the dress her mother picked out for her lift and spin with her, Héctor giving a slight chuckle as he pulled her close to him again. He gave her another smile and put his hand on her cheek before embracing her as the song ended.

Imelda felt Héctor's joy mix with hers, watching his eyes shine with love in the sun. The second song started and he put his arms around her again, placing his head on hers softly

Imelda wanted this moment to last forever.

He told her that she looked nice, and Imelda felt her face warm up again, but not from embarassment. She returned his compliment he twirled her under his arm, the audience around them applauding and laughing. For once, Imelda didn't care that she could see her brothers elbowing each other out of the corner of her eye. For now, she focused on Héctor, all the promises she made for him, and the ones he made for her.

For a moment, when the music was finished once again, Héctor started to head towards the stage in front of them. Imelda panicked for a second, grabbing his hand, but he only grinned and told her he had a suprise for her. Grabbing his guitar, he resumes his earlier sprint away, strumming the beginning notes to their song, the one she'd helped him with.

Imelda hung onto every ounce of joy the song gave her as she smiled and danced along to the melody, inwardly laughing, not unkindly, at Héctor's dance moves as he played.
