Author Notes: This chapter begins with Ono' past before he dies due to the heroes being cautious on his demise. It's mostly to showcase the heroes' Stands as his particular Stand is a one-shot kill, so it was better to eliminate him right away so we could move onto the next arc. It's also a means for Joshua to be able to participate in combat more readily..

It's also the fight that exposes the kind of person, Joshua is at the beginning of the story when he's not around his mom.

Chapter 8: Overture-8-Big Lizard

Ono's Past

Ono Plasti- Age: 40. He joined the antagonistic suppression force at the age of 20 and would serve as a notable yet average soldier that could make conflicts nullified. He would be recruited by Justiz into his team in order to establish their new take on Spin technology. He was initially not fully committed, but at the age of 30, a smuggler dealing in human trafficking was found by his wife and took her captive. When Ono attempted to talk the criminal out of his way of life in order to save his wife, the man shot her the moment that Ono weakened his Stand- Give Peace A Chance, causing Ono to suffer a trauma. This trauma awakened his Sub-stand, My Nemesis, driving the murderer into insanity with its bullets. Ono Plasti would then be fully committed to Justiz's cause and going along with the corruption.

He would have his son, Smothers Plasti, indoctrinated into Justiz's beliefs in order to serve as a viable pawn. He cares for him, but more as an asset if anything...

Present

So unnatural..., thought the white-haired girl as she looked on the blood built Sub-Stands

Ono felt dizzy before refocusing.

Damn, it still takes a bit out of me... I need to finish this quickly..., thought Ono as he resolved himself to kill.

Felixa turned to see that Joshua was beginning to dose off. She then pinched him to his annoyance.

"I thought you were kidding.," Felixa said back.

"It's not the way I'd wanna win, but my Stand needs me to dose off to make a solution that's easy to," said the boy before the girl looked at him intensely.

"The moment you rest is the moment he has the opening to win. If your Stand is putting you at a disadvantage, it's a part of your mind, so make it do what you want for the situation- not the other way around. And if it's still a disadvantage- at least, try to use the advantages it does have with your imagination.," said Felixa as she summoned her Stand as the temperature got colder.

The Sub-Stands also began to freeze up as well.

"You're putting them in harm's way with your powers-," Ono mocked before Felixa interjected.

"If the effect was in our room that is. And you just achieved my range requirements.," said the girl as Ono turned to see he, Joshua and Felixa were now on a mountainside in the dead of winter within an icy landscape. A mammoth cry was briefly heard in the distance.

An Illusion? But, the chills seem so real! thought Ono as he began to feel frostbite while Joshua was breathing heavily.

Felixa gestured six to Ono as a bluish-white snowman humanoid wearing a blue top hat and cat ears appeared behind the girl.

"You're trying to tell me. I have six seconds before I lose...you're a fool. You may have renewed resolve, but your battle experience is rather lacking.," he said as he pulled out a device that resembled a handheld audio speaker.

"Nobody's Listening.," he said as an inaudible sound wave emitted from the device, causing the snowman to dissipate and the space to return to normal.

Ono clasped his head as he got readjusted to the altitude with his Sub-Stands returning to normal.

"Your Stand wasn't normal. The altitude sickness was too vivid to be an illusion and these fingers are still frostbitten- it's definitely not a normal ice Stand. You might become a threat to Lord Justiz in the near future. You're the most dangerous one here. So you need to go first.," said the man as Felixa collapsed on the ground.

"It must be painful. Being stripped of your Stand. Don't worry, I'll say that you're a terrorist along with any of your family.," said the man as he raised his left foot to crush her head.

Joshua then bites his lower lip and clenches his fists.

Shit., thought Joshua as he lunged forward into Ono's gut.

"Get off of me!" said the man.

"You should've seen him wailing and begging for his life when he kicked the bucket.," said Joshua.

"What?" Ono demanded.

"Your Smothers. That D-Flag jackass. Never seemed to call out for you as he was croaking. Guess he really was trash taking advantage of your generosity.," Joshua said snidely as Ono focused his attention on beating Joshua up with his frozen fists as the gunnery was focused on the black-haired boy.

Joshua gave a breath look to Felixa- which said- Run.

However, the girl trembling, she rushed forward and grabbed the device from Ono's loosen grip as he was in the midst of pummeling Joshua. Before anything could be done, she crushed it under her right foot.

Ono screamed bloody murder as he grabbed her throat.

Joshua's Mindspace

Joshua shook, closed his eyes, and then thought into the deeper recesses of his mind- a dark red space where his Stand, KING CRIMSON resided.

Maybe, since it's my Stand- I can communicate with it..., thought Joshua.

"Let it die. Your safety is the only concern that matters.," said the being in a deep, demonic voice as red tendrils began to seep into Joshua's body. However, Joshua glared with black flames in his eyes.

"If my safety is your top concern. Better get off your lazy ass because the jackass is going to bloody go after me once he's through with her. And you'll go down with me.," said the boy with a smug smirk.

"You bring up a good point. You're not going to get the full advantage because I didn't get enough rest.," said the being in a demonically deep voice.

"How cares how it's done. As long as he's squirming in the end.," Joshua demanded.

KING CRIMSON then proceeded to morph into something within the mind space as it breached into the outside.

Present

Outside in the real world, a red being began to materialize behind Joshua, causing Ono to turn around.

It was a lizard version of the KING CRIMSON- the size of a komodo dragon. It drooled slightly before it focused on Ono.

"The hell?," Joshua remarked as he saw his Stand for the first time outside the special space- looking drastically different.

"Squad attack-," Ono commanded, sensing the danger before it instantly lunged at him, biting his right arm.

Tch, guess it wasn't worth it., thought Joshua.

"Sir. Are you hurt?" asked the main member of the Sub-Stand- the police-like officer of My Nemesis.

"Maybe, you can talk it out to remove the poison.," said the peace symbol Stand- Give Peace A Chance.

"It's shallow. What could've been the purpose of such a-," said Ono before he suddenly tripped onto the floor face forward, letting go of Felixa.

"What the fuck?" Ono demanded as he attempted to get up.

"I can't be defeated like this. For the sake of Lord Justiz's utopia. I must be a steadfast soldier and force the misguided to obey with their arms bent into submission.," said the man before Joshua stomped on his head.

"Look at you. You were acting all high and mighty and you're about to be snuffed out by a kid.," said the boy as he began to press hard on Ono's left temple.

Suddenly, Felixa pushed him to the side.

"He deserved to die for what he did. He sent his flunky of a son to do god knows what to bystanders in order to fulfill god knows what. And what he does to kids. He's not getting away with this.," Joshua shouted.

"You'll go to Pre-Jail for unauthorized killing before you're old enough. Besides, the right to execute is in the hands of the staff here.," Felixa said as she looked at Linken who suddenly appeared behind a slowly rising Ono.

He turned in a state of panic, realizing he didn't turn on the hologram of the more pleasant depiction of detention sessions instead of the awful truth.

"They did this! Honest!" Ono lied as he attempted to back away.

"Bloody mental you are. You should've said- I can explain. Now I know you're getting yours soon. It's not I turned a blind eye to what I had suspected you were doing. It's that even if I ratted you out on your scheme, I'd be caught by your superiors. There are three things that made your success- one- you had the Nobody's Listening in order to cancel out my powers along with your Stand's powers to make Stands unable to fight. Two is that you had the backup of Stand users better than you that could make my life difficult and three, even if he's a fraud- Justiz is still the Star of the World with all the benefits it implies to protect his people. The fact that he's not backing you up now is that he's given up on you- you're dispensable now that your schemes exposed and he doesn't want to suffer bad press from associating with the likes of you.," said Linken Park as she summoned a Stand that took the form of a blue-skinned humanoid with a bluish-gray suit, yellow button-like eyes, and a golden, pen-like protrusion from the back of its head. Most unusually, it had four functional arms instead of two.

It pointed at Ono's gut, creating a dot, which then generated a button that generated an opening.

Ono gasped in horror as Linken put an active time bomb into his body, closed it, and then tossed him with the Stand out of the window.

"I always felt you were in the wrong crowd back when we met, so you were allowed to stay in addition to it being mandated by Justiz. Now, I see that sense of seeking peace had been irreversibly corrupted into hypocrisy. Ciao.," she said as the man exploded mid-air. Rock debris fell down instead of piles of guts.

The students in the detention hall returned to normal, dazed and confused.

When the other teachers arrived, hearing the commotion, Linken calmly said-

"Ono took his own life right, he decided to suicide bomb the school so I reduced the collateral damage, yeah."

While they gave her a look, they also didn't like how Ono was always hiding something that was likely heinous, so they brushed it aside.

"By the way, Smothers Plasti was home-schooled- likely by Ono himself via indoctrination, so there wouldn't be any records of him ever being here. You did, however, manage to stop his operations and get a proper Stand.," said the woman as she looked at Joshua.

Felixa got to her feet and noticed-

"Hey your hair's a little redder.," she said.

Joshua took notice that his hair wasn't pure black anymore, but more of a reddish-brown. It was significant but subtle enough to not be noticeable.

"A lot of the teachers here are forced to teach the standard education preferred by Justiz. It's why you'll be teaching with me. Don't think because I'm your mother that I'll be lenient with you.," said Linken in an awkward attempt to not sound affectionate.

Joshua blanked for a moment before registering the information given to him.

"Joan is my mother-," said the boy.

"It's complicated, but you share 16 mothers. It's the same with you, Felixa right?" asked the woman.

Felixa looked to the side, flustered and awkward.

Joshua took a look at the lizard Stand before it dissipated.

I need to ask Mom for clarification on this., thought Joshua as he followed Linken.

Another side of Town...

Giorno was walking down the street, perturbed that no one was paying attention to his outfit and hair color. Given how bizarrely they dressed and how varied their hair colors were, Giorno seemed normal in comparison.

He then spotted a very large, obese man wearing a fizz hat and tacky red attire. He had black sclera and green irises, a pointed, long nose and a symbol of a green jack o lantern with horns on the side and a third eye. He resembled-

"Polpo. What's he doing here?" asked the blonde aloud.

Stands of the Week

Stand: KING CRIMSON Part 1: Lizard- named after the band of the same name and Lizard, an album by the band of the same name.

Stand User: Joshua Joestar

Ability: Catharsis Bite- it auto-locks on a target with the most negative, unpunished karma and bites them with a shallow bite. The effect isn't immediately obvious, but gradually it's apparent that it gradually causes misfortunes to happen to the target based on their level of negative Karma built up. Even if Joshua were to be defeated in a direct battle, the enemy will suffer the karma of their actions until the enemy has been damaged in proportion to their karma. It also subtly alters fates so that the punished don't weasel out of their punishment.

Destructive Power: D- Is fairly weak, with bite not being immediately fatal, thus is useless in a single stroke or dominating a battle. It relies on long-term consequences.

Speed: C- Is average Komodo Dragon speed, which faster Stands can outmatch.

Precision: D- Automatically reacts to the person with the most negative karma, regardless of Joshua's intentions.

Range: A- Range of ability is a large town range.

Persistence: A- Has higher endurance than most Stands and its delayed effect keeps active long after the bite is initiated.

Development Potential: A- As the basic manifestation of KING CRIMSON in the physical world, it has a chance to improve its abilities.

Stand User Rank: E- User has a basic understanding of its abilities, but the ability itself is out of the user's direct control.

Stand: Points of Authority- based on the song from the band, Linkin Park.

Stand User: Linken Park- Name based on the band, Linkin Park.

Ability: Points of Authority's primary ability is to generate a dot at a location in her peripheral vision of the area Linken Park is in by either having herself or Points of Authority point in the direction of what she wants to target. If it's blocked by something else, she's blinded or made to look away, the effect won't work. This dot becomes a button that Linken can open and close at her leisure- like using a button to unbutton a wall and then re-buttoning it once she's done. She can even unbutton targets with this ability but is unable to completely section them off since her buttons only cover one surface of the target. In spite of this drawback, she can do a variety of things like buttoning a person together with an object to restrain them, unbutton a surface and close it to hide in a subspace dimension, insert objects into targets to have them gain their properties, silencing an enemy, closing important functions of an object, emptying out components of a target, etc.

Stand Stats

Strength: A- It is a very powerful Stand with the added benefit of having an additional set of arms in order to

Speed: A- is able to react in femtoseconds to attacks.

Range- C- Has to be in close range to the ability to work by punching it.

Power Persistence- B- Ability works for as long as Linken is aware of it

Precision- A- Has precise control of what to unbutton and the limitations of her ability.

Development Potential- D- she has almost complete mastery of her Stand, but is trying to reach the Star power to reach the full potential of her Stand and then refine its powers.

Stand User Rank- A- Her Stand is very versatile, with her user being very creative with its power. Her use of the Star makes her even deadlier and more potent with her Stand.

Stand: Winter Wonderland- the name based on the holiday song, Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard.

Stand User: Felixa Bernard- the name based on song artist Felix Bernard

Ability: Winter Wonderland is able to create a six-second temporal space that causes targets to be in one of the previous Ice ages rather than just simple ice manipulation in a space of 2 meters.

Destructive Power: B- Ice is strong, but weak to elements like fire. It is also above-human level strength but is not close to top-tier power Stands.

Speed: B- Is fast but outdone by top-tier agile Stands.

Range: D- Ice powers are only good 2 meters in Winter Wonderland's vicinity.

Precision: C- Ice manipulation is good, but has some difficulties in regulating it so it inadvertently harms others if Felxa isn't too careful.

Persistence: E- Ice dissipates if one is away 2 meters from Winter Wonderland. Ice also only lasts six seconds before melting, which is measured by the clocks on its limbs.

Development Potential: A- Winter Wonderland has the potential to grow as a Stand in its usage over Ice.

Stand User Rank: D- Has a firmer grasp of Stand than most users, but is still not entirely proficient in overall skill.
