Vetra paced nervously in the med lab, her lover sat on the floor next to a table with his head in his hands, quietly making clicking and screeching sounds as he worked through his panic. Lexi stood at a terminal, running calculations to understand how this possibly happened, when she finally turned back to the couple.

"I think I figured it out." she said as she walked back towards them.. "Using the sample you provided me, I was able to determine that his chemical blockers were not only removed, but reversed. I'd say the Primus wanted him loose, as his libido has been increased, though I doubt she was ready for him to be returned to us so soon. In essence he has the ability to neutralize the chemical blockers within others via receiving his bodily fluids, obviously internally."

"So, let me get this straight?" Vetra said as she stood next to her lover, who was still panicking. "They basically turned him into a cure for our chemical blockers?"

"In essence. I wouldn't doubt that they wanted to send him after colonies and let him cause a population boom of part Kett offspring to be used against us for control of Helius."

"Spirits... Soc?" Vetra asked as she knelt down next to her "Hey, it's gonna be alright..." she said as she sat down next to him and pulled him into her arms. The pair just sat there for a long while in silence before the doors opened up, revealing Peebee.

"Uh... oops? did I interrupt something?" she asked as she looked at the Turian couple holding one another on the floor.

"Oh Peebee, could you do me a favor and come back in a few minutes?" Lexi asked

"Sure." she said as she biunded out of the Medbay, the doors closing behind her.

"I'm going to have to send Scott after her aren't I..." Lexi mumbled to herself. "Now, the scans show the embryo is healthy, but being as early as it is, I would suggest weekly scans to keep an eye on things. Alright?"

"Sure Lexi." Vetra replied, not looking up from her lover.

"This isn't the worst thing in the world, you know?" Lexi said in an attempt to comfort the pair. "You are going to have a child, you can finally settle down and enjoy life."

"...my fault..." came a scratchy whisper from Socus.

"No, it isn't." Vetra said, as she held her lover's head to her chest. "I should've listened to Lexi."

Socus pulled away from her and let out some squeaks and clicks as he motioned to her abdomen and then to his face, worry obviously covering it.

"We'll deal with it when and or if it comes up." Vetra reassured him. "If you don't mind me stealing one of your lines: We'll burn that bridge when we come to it." she said with a smile as she pulled him back into her warm embrace, earning a sigh from him even though his face was still covered with worry...

...

"Docking with the Nexus in ten minutes." Kallo's voice called over the ship intercom system. Most of the crew was excited to get some much needed RR, but Socus sat in the med bay going over all the information about his upcoming surgery, not making heads or tails about it. A frustrated series of clicks came from him as he set the datapad down and walked to the door.

He made his way to the cargo bay and nodded to Jaal, the Angara member of the Pathfinder's crew. He had been avoiding him as much as possible knowing full well what the Kett meant to him, and not wanting to give him another reminder about them that he didn't need. The smile he received from the Angara didn't ease him at all, but it wasn't anger so he decided to take what he could get.

He walked towards Vetra's room and knocked, watching the holographic marker swap from a locked to unlocked setting. He opened the door and stepped inside to see his lover working at her terminal, probably working on trading or something. He triggered his Omnitool and sent a message to her. And waited.

She noticed the notification on her Omnitool and triggered it to see the message, then smiled and looked at him. "I love you too." she said as she pulled him into a hug. "We'll be getting off in a bit, are you ready for your surgery?" she asked, getting a nervous screech and a nod in return. "Hey, it's going to be alright. I know you don't like doctors, but Lexi will be part of the team fixing you."

He sighed, keeping himself in her arms as they swung back and forth slightly, Vetra humming a tune she knew he liked as he tightened his hold on her.

...

Socus lay on a table in the medical facilities, Vetra holding his hand as the doctors prepared for his surgery.

"I'll see you as soon as you come out, alright?" She whispered to him.

"Love... you..." he croaked before Lexi came up to them.

"Alright, it's time." Lexi said as she pulled up her mask.

"Thanks Lexi." Vetra said as she nuzzled her lover, getting a smile in return. She stood up and walked towards the door, blowing a kiss to her lover before being led to the waiting room by a nurse.

"Ready, Socus?" Lexi asked, watching as the light left his eyes and the smile fled from his face as his lover left the room. All he could get out was a depressed whimper as the anesthesiologist covered his face with the mask and he slipped from consciousness...

...

Vetra paced in the waiting room, irritated that the operation was taking so long, and checking the time on her Omnitool constantly. It had been almost an hour and a half when Lexi walked in.

"How is he?" Vetra asked marching over to her.

"He's going to be fine." Lexi reassured. "We did what we could, but frankly there was a lot of issues with his vocal cords. He may not be able to talk for long periods of time, nor will he sound exactly like he did before, but he will be able to speak a great deal more than he was." We can try to work on it more after he has recuperated a bit, probably in a few weeks."

"Can I see him?" Vetra asked

"Of course." Lexi replied with a smile, before leading her to the recovery room Socus was in.

Vetra took one look at him and dashed to his side. On his chest were a series of medigel bandages helping his wound knitt back together. "Oh, Soc..." she whispered to him concerned as she rubbed the side of his face with her hand. Lexi moved a chair behind the Turian and let her sit down in it.

"I'll be back in a while to check on you two. And please, no amorous activities for a couple days..." Lexi warned before leaving the room.

Vetra sat there for a long time, her head resting on the pillow next to Soc, her right hand holding his left hand over his abdomen. She was starting to drift off when she watched a bleary-eyed Socus turn is head to look at her.

"Vetra?" he mumbled out.

"Yes sweetheart?" she replied, her eyes tearing up.

"Can we leave the hospital yet?"
