[From Hope's diary]

Due to child care and PhD thesis demand, although Light has purchased the land near our apartment for me to setting up my own lab, I do not have much time to attend that place for four years. After that, I got my full time job, Valerie was enrolled into primary and Conroy into preschool, I finally can hire contractor to build up that place.

Throughout my investigation in this world, I found from their ancient history manuscript that there were a time when "people from other worlds" visited this planet and introducing all sorts of exotic technologies. Later, these technologies caused various problems among humans, such as warfare and genocide. Great Pyramid in Egypt was said to be built by these people from other worlds. Religious scripture referred these beings as fallen angels, some suggested they were aliens, and still most of contemporary historians suggest these people were still humans, just technologically more advanced.

I am curious as some of these technologies looked very similar from what I encountered in Cocoon. I read some articles that suggested there are evidences the Great Pyramid were used as entry portal from other dimensions, similar to Time Gates that Serah and Noel went through when they searched for Light.

This brought me to the question - are those reborn in this New World from Nova Chrysalia, such as me and Light, the only people from other worlds that currently exist here? Or, are there other beings that we don't know? If these technologies already existed thousands of years ago, are those portals still existing until now? Surely, if it exists and still active, there is a chance that even until now the beings from other dimensions can pass through. The question is - will it include connection in Unseen Realm where Yeul, Caius and Bhunivelze reside? Or, even demonic realm where Spiritus reside?

So, to aid my investigation, I have done online searching and collected both softcopy and hardcopy of ancient manuscripts which mentioned about these people from other worlds. Remarkably, similar pyramids and records exist in almost all ancient civilization in this planet, including Inca, Aztec, Chinese, Mesopotamia, Babylon, and many more.

I also contacted many museums which claimed to have some of the artifacts from these places but most of the times, I am not able to verify and even locate where they stored these items. I am wondering whether any powerful people or organization in this world that want to keep public ignorant about these artifacts. Then, I realized that there was a conspiracy theory claiming that actually the powerful people of this planet are connected or even come from these other dimensions. That fact troubles me and makes me do more intensive research, but Light warned me not to delve too much into this thing.

One night I went to the lab silently after confirming that Light, Valerie and Conroy have sound sleep. The lab is actually located just ten minutes walking from my apartment. At that time, it was 2am in the morning. I intend to finish reading copy of ancient Babylonian manuscript which described "castle on the sky", whose description I found very similar to Eden in Cocoon for 1 hour, as I cannot sleep.

I opened the door to the library and entered inside. I put the manuscript on the table at the center of the room, and my backpack to chair beside me. I brought breads, coffee sachets, and my university jacket. I sit there and read seriously on my table in the library, using only the desk lamp, when suddenly hands grasped my shoulders from behind and I screamed loudly.

"HOPE!", Lightning appeared behind me, wearing her pajama, her expression looked sad and anxious, "Please listen to me! Do not kill yourself by obsessing to these kinds of things! You still have your job tomorrow!"

I sighed, wiped sweat from my forehead, turned my chair and facing her. I really felt guilty on doing this behind her, but it cannot be helped, "I know, Light...I just feel that this thing is somehow very important...if somehow any evil entities are able to make use of those portals..."

"We will fight them, together!", Light proclaimed while grasped my shoulder again, "You, me, Snow, Noel, Fang, Vanille, and Sazh. We have prevailed against Bhunivelze before. Why we cannot prevail against those beings?"

"Things changed, Light...we are not young and not I'Cie anymore, and no more power from Etro or Bhunivelze...", I replied sadly while gazing to her.

Light was stunned immediately after hearing my words. Unfortunately, she knew that I am right. She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth in anger, clenched her fists and punch the desk beside me. I cannot respond anything as I also do not know what to do.

"If we have no power at all, then it is a good idea to find these portals, if available, and quickly destroy them for good...before something terrible show up...", I continued, "Unfortunately, I still do not know where they are until now..."

"Hope...even if we are not stronger than them...", Light put her palm on her chest, "We will still fight, together! We will rally humanity together to fight evil, I believe that good will prevail against evil!", she declared, and instantly bright blue light radiated from her sharp eyes. The same light which appeared when she fought Sephiroth, originated from Etro's essence inside her. I was awed by strength of her energy burst and her determination..

Light approached me with her radiant eyes, touched my cheeks with both of her hands, and smiled. I really felt like I was facing goddess Etro herself.

"I promised to protect humanity...and my man...", Light proclaimed, "Against anything, even gods..."

My heart was at ease with her spirit, how can I be so naive? if the enemies try to destroy this world, then not only us, but they will need to fight against humanity as well. Definitely, we will not fight alone. I know we don't. Furthermore, Light still has the power of Etro...which seems will be activated when she is in critical time.

"Thank you, Light...", I whispered, "I am sorry for being so anxious...you are right...we will fight together..."

Light hugged me back, "I will keep my eyes in front...", she whispered back.

"And I will watch the rear...", I continued, smiling at her while moving towards the exit.
