A few more days of private battles and feeling stupid happy, and Samus was practically skipping down the hallway.

She hated being in a good mood. It didn't feel right. Almost like she didn't deserve it.

But today she was going to try to be more welcoming to the other smashers.

Maybe smile more often, possibly play a game with Ness...

She stopped in her tracks. There was talking inside one of the rooms.

"Yeah, I heard that they were outside last night.."

Samus normally wouldn't go nosing in others' business, but she could've sworn she heard the name Captain Falcon.

Who was outside last night? Falcon? She had no idea. She wasn't with him the night before.

"I know. Crazy right? And they just kept going at it too." Said a voice who sounded like Daisy.

What? This can't be right. Falcon wasn't one to just go off and make love with a side chick.

But something in Samus's gut told her to keep listening. And sure enough:

"Yeah, guess the Captain's got himself a brunette!" Giggled another voice.

Samus's heart fell. Everything did; her good mood, her plans for the day, it didn't even feel like she could get angry.

Instead of overreacting, she slowly kept walking.

It was hard for her to convince herself that they had just been lying. Too hard. To her horror, she could believe it.

Captain Falcon was famous where he came from. He had millions of fans who would give anything just to shake his hand. And then the fact that half of them were all women who were more romantically daring then she had ever been.

She could've slapped herself. How could she just let her emotions get out of hand like that? How could she just drop every insecurity she'd ever had and let some guy into her life.

Some guy she deeply cared about.

But instead of breaking down or getting all fussy, she was going to stick to the role of dense, heartless bounty huntress.

That was the only thing she could rely on anymore.

She walked into the cafeteria, now bustling with activity. She spotted the Racer sitting at a table with Link and the others.

Wanting to avoid contact with him, she tried to move around them as far as possible. She successfully snatched herself some coffee, and quietly started down the hallway.

She stared down at her moving feet as she made her way to her room, thinking.

Suddenly, the huntress stopped in her tracks. She had a stalker.

Quickly turning around, she met face to face with Captain Falcon. He had his helmet tucked under one arm, flashing one of his dashing smiles at her.

"Hey," He greeted. "Want to come with me and the others to train in the gym?"

Samus could feel grief bubbling up into her throat.

Oh, come on. Don't lose your grip now. Just wait to decline and then head back to your room. You'll be safe there.

"Hey, I wanted to tell you about somethin-" he got cut off by a swift and sharp smack to the face.

She couldn't help herself.

His head had turned by the force, then he turned to look at her in shock.

"Could Could You!?" She seethed, before running down the hallway.

Dammit, Dammit, DAMMIT.

Once she reached her darkened lair, she abruptly slammed the door, stomped over to her bed, and curled herself up in her comforter.

She was acting like one of Falcon's female fans... yuck.

But how couldn't she? He acted like nothing bad happened, he felt no guilt for what he had done, what-so-ever.

Unfortunately, it wasn't his fault at all. It was her's, for allowing herself to finally open up to the world around her.

She was used to having everything she cared for getting taken away from her. Her family, her home...

Captain Falcon.

She stayed isolated in her room for a couple more hours, before she heard the group come back from working at the gym. They were all laughing. She didn't know if she couldn't hear Falcon because he was worried about her, or if the others were being too loud.

Samus groaned and shoved her face deep into her pillow. The tears hadn't hit yet, but the heartaches that stung her chest was really pushing it.

After a few more hours, Samus decided that it was time for a shower. Possibly the water could help her grip the situation better.

Samus crept down the hallway to the girls shower room. No one was inside.

Thank god.

Once drenched, she flopped her bangs out of her face, and then pressed her hands against her eyes.

She would have to confront him about it. But not now. Now she retraced her memories of the fun they had had together. It didn't seem like something he would do, Samus tried to convince herself once more.

She then rested her hand on her side, feeling a light burn rush threw her ribs.

This again?

But this time, it was forceful and actually buckled her over a bit. Fortunately, it didn't last long.

Damn, I need some Advil. Maybe I can just get Rosalina to fetch me some. I'll tell her I'm on my period or some shit.

After ringing out her hair, Samus threw on some clothes and snuck back into her room.

She needed dinner, but she wanted isolation.

Her unwanted love for food won, and after tidying up, she stalked down the hallway that led to the cafeteria.

She saw Link, Peach, Ness, Pit, Snake... no Falcon.

I wonder where he is? Probably off seeing his 'brunette'.

It hurt thinking about it. But at least she could enter the room without covering her face with a plate to avoid his charming gaze.

She seated herself at the table where Link and Peach were.

She got curious. "Hey, where's Falcon?"

"He ran off to do something important, he said." Peach answered. "And by the looks of it, it must've been quite worrisome. He sounded and looked frantic. Maybe we should check on him when he gets back."

Her suggestion was unheard.

Frantic? What did she mean by frantic. He was worried? Was he on a mission from his hometown?

Peach then looked up at her face, and said, "you look like shit."

Samus was a bit shocked by the Princess's statement and by the look on his face, so was Link.

"Why would you say that?" Link questioned. He was shocked, but not enough to not shove an entire piece of bread in his mouth.

"Your eyes have dark purple marks under them. Your hairs a mess, and you also didn't show up for training this morning or even at all today. Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah.. I'm fine." She lied. Pulling herself together was hard enough. Now she had to deal with Peach interrogating her?

"I just haven't been sleeping lately, that's all."

After hurriedly finishing her dinner of pot pie and peas, she went into the gym to train for a while. Alone.

She surprisingly got a lot of her anger out on one of the punching bags, (rip).

Samus was impressed with her strength when she was mad.

After a couple more exercises, she decided to head inside.

The sun disappeared, replaced with the moon.

Samus crept into her room.

Falcon hadn't returned yet. Why did she care? She just wanted to get their relationship over with so that she could live on. Her doors closed.

Alone.
