Todd Manor, Atlas
Coco stretched when she woke up.
Her joints and back popped.
"Oh Gods." She groaned.
She got out of bed, and took a step forward popping her knees.
She walked into her bathroom and started the tub.
'Today's a good day to be lazy.' She thought.
While the bath filled with water, she brushed her teeth, used the bathroom, and disrobed before shutting off the water and slid into the tub.
"Oh." She sighed as she soaked in the tub. "This is nice."
She soaked in the tub until the water turned cold, and she got out before draining the water.
She turned on the shower and cleaned up before drying off and getting dressed in a pair of sweats and a sweater.
After she dressed, she walked downstairs.
When she got to the kitchen, she looked through the cupboards until she found Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Crunch.
She poured a bowl and grabbed the milk before sitting at the table.
"Good morning Coco." A feminine voice said.
Coco turned around to see a Kangaroo mouse Faunus. "Good Morning Tyra."
"Did you sleep well?"
"Yes. Thank you."
"Fox and Yatsuhashi are in the training room if you would like to..."
"No thank you." Coco interrupted her. "I'm being lazy today.
"Okay. Might I make a suggestion of what you can do today?"
"You can, but I have an idea of what I want to do today."
"Okay. If you would like I can give you the codes to the soundproofing to make your room soundproof. I don't mean to impose, but you seem to be incredibly stressed out, and it might be a good idea to relieve that stress." Tyra said making sure Coco knew what she was saying.
"I see." Coco said. "Thank you but..."
"You are like Geoffrey, and waiting till your married to indulge in such activities?"
"What? No."
"You don't have a partner to help you relieve such stress?"
Coco became quiet. "No." She spoke. "I did, but she died during the Fall."
"I see. Perhaps you need a new partner. I know several Faunus who would have no problem being involved with a Human?"
"I don't know if I'm ready to start dating again."
"I see. Well, they wouldn't mind just being available when you need them. They will not share you with anyone and will not cheat on you. They will stay faithful until you decide to move forward or let them go."
Coco mulled that over for a second before she looked at Tyra. "Why are you doing this?"
"I've seen you since you've been here, and I must say that you are quite fetching, but I am a humble servant. I am not to get involved with those under my care."
"I'm sure Jason wouldn't mind if you did. Which way do you swing?"
"I swing both ways."
"Then I'll give you one date. If we don't get along by the end of the date that'll be the end of it, but if there's a spark. We can try a second and third and so on until we lose that spark."
"Really?" Tyra said. "You don't mind being seen with a Faunus?"
"Hell no!" Coco yelled slamming a hand on the table. Some of my best friends are Faunus! Hell! One of my Teammates is a Faunus! Why would I be ashamed to be seen with a Faunus?"
"I have to ask Clifford. If he says it's okay to leave for the day I can go."
"Hurry up then." Coco said. "Date ends at Sunrise tomorrow."
"What?"
"We're going clubbing later tonight."
"I've never been clubbing before."
"Then you're in for a treat."
Awena followed behind Geoff and Velvet as they walked.
They were walking through alleys and subway entrances and exits around Atlas.
"This is where I go when I need ta think." Geoff said.
"It's a nice walk. I can tell why you like it."
As they walked, they noticed that people were looking at them scandalized.
"So." Geoff asked. "What happened after Beacon fell?"
"Well. We walked to Shade Academy. We had to drag Coco there."
Geoff stopped to think about that before he remembered what Jason had told them. "Oh." He spoke.
"Yeah. She almost killed herself too."
"I didn't know it was tha' bad, but I guess if I lost ye that I'd feel th' same way."
Velvet blushed at that.
"So, what happened?"
"We tried helping her. She lashed out at us, and I questioned my trust in humans."
"Even me?" Geoff asked mildly.
"I questioned if you actually loved me, yes."
Geoff looked at her. "I do love ye. What can I do ta show ye that I love ye and I won't let ye down?"
Velvet hugged Geoff. "You goofball." She smiled. "You do it just by being you."
Geoff hugged her back, only to be scoffed at by the Atlesians.
Velvet felt the Rider clawing to get out and started shivering.
Geoff held her and walked her away.
He led her into a secluded spot and sat her down on a bench. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." She said still shivering.
"It's not nothing."
"I made a really stupid mistake Geoff. A really stupid mistake."
"What was it?"
Velvet looked up into his eyes and began speaking again.
"We finally got Coco back to being herself for the most part, and one day we got a text from Weiss saying she needed help."
"Okay."
"We packed up and left Shade Academy. We walked for a while until we ran into Team SSN, and we teamed up until Haven where we separated."
"Okay."
"On our way I had a weird dream. A Ram Faunus asked me to take his power. It was a dream, so I didn't see any harm in saying yes."
"It wasn't a dream, was it?"
"No. When I woke up, I found that Yatsu had died. The Ram Faunus told me that he would give me Yatsu back in exchange for one hundred evil souls. I said yes."
"And now every time ye sense evil around someone ye want ta kill them."
"More or less. They have to be really evil."
Geoff sighed. "Ye made a deal wit th' Devil." He spoke.
"I know that." Velvet said with tears in her eyes.
Geoff held her and let her cry into his shoulder.
When she was done, he gave her a tight hug.
When they separated Velvet looked up into his eyes and kissed him on the lips.
Inside Geoff's head.
A little Chibi version of Geoff watched as his computer screen went from a picture of Velvet to the windows 98 blue screen of death.
"OH, COME ON!" He yelled. "And it was just getting to the good part too!"
Velvet looked at Geoff who was frozen. "Geoff?" She asked. "Geoff? Are you okay?"
She waved her hand in front of Geoff's face, and that snapped him out of it.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I was just caught off guard. Sorry."
Velvet blushed.
Geoff leaned in and kissed Velvet lightly.
His breath caught in his chest, and his chest tightened.
Butterflies flew around his stomach.
He felt himself stiffen for a second before he calmed down.
Something hit the back of his head but bounced off his aura.
Something else bounced off his aura.
He let everything around him disappear, and he became fully immersed in the kiss.
Velvet was completely caught off guard when Geoff kissed her.
She felt her chest tighten and felt butterflies in her stomach.
She felt something hit her ears.
She became fully immersed in the kiss and everything disappeared.
When they came back to reality, they noticed that they were surrounded by angry Atlesians.
"Get them!" An angry man yelled.
Six men grabbed Geoff, and four grabbed Velvet.
"VELVET!" Geoff yelled.
"GEOFF!" Velvet yelled back.
"Let them GO!" A voice yelled charging into the crowd.
"AWENA!" Geoff yelled. "GET VELVET AND RUN!"
Velvet could feel the Rider ripping, tearing, and clawing to get out.
'Save Geoff!' She yelled.
Velvet glowed red and her skin melted away leaving her skeleton and rabbit ears.
She pulled her limbs towards her and slammed the Atlesians holding her into each other.
"LET... GO!" She yelled.
She grabbed one of the men who were holding her in her left hand and a woman in her right.
She glared up at them, judging them.
"You are not truly evil souls. You are spared my wrath this day."
She looked around at the group and saw the six men holding Geoff while he pleaded with them to let him go.
He was crying. Begging them to let him go. He wouldn't fight them. He would rather them kill him than hurt them.
The Rider jumped at them and grabbed two of them.
A final punch landed of Geoff and there was an explosion as his Semblance activated and blew the others away and cratered the ground under his body.
Velvet was holding the two who were holding Geoff and looked at them.
"You! Guilty! Your souls are stained with the blood of the innocent. Look into my eyes and feel their pain!"
The men shrieked in agony and their souls were seared by their sins.
Velvet saw one of the men beat a Faunus, who had dropped a plate, to death.
The other man had used his position to buy Faunus children.
She enjoyed their suffering.
She looked around and saw Awena picking herself up off the ground, but not looking too hurt.
She saw Geoff stand up weakly from the ground and she felt her hatred for these humans rise.
She looked around and saw that many of them had blood on their hands. Most of it Faunus blood.
She ran at the humans with every intention of killing them.
Geoff looked at Velvet before he limped over to Awena.
Awena picked Geoff up. "Come on. We can go to the Clinic..."
"No!" Geoff yelled. "We need ta help Velvet."
Awena led Geoff away, and they watched Velvet tear through the citizens.
She killed some of them by searing their souls and knocked others out.
Geoff tossed Stun grenades and flash bangs to help her.
When she was done, she reverted to her Faunus form and passed out.
Geoff limped over to her unconscious body and picked her up.
"Let's take her to the Clinic." Awena said. "They won't follow us there."
"But we will." A familiar voice said.
Awena snarled when she heard Harriet.
She spun around and glared at her.
"Arrest them!" A man wheezed from his prone position.
"With pleasure." Harriet said cracking her neck and knuckles.
"On what charge?" The leader asked.
"He was kissing a Faunus!"
"That's not necessarily illegal though." The wolf Faunus said.
"It's disgusting!" The man said.
"Shut up." Geoff said fed up with their bullshit.
"Why? Harriet asked. You going to fuck that foo-foo too?"
Geoff handed Velvet to Awena and stepped forward. "Yer goin' ta apologize fer tha'." He said in a tone that barely hid his anger at her.
"Or else what!" She demanded arrogantly.
"Harriet." The leader said.
"No Clover! This bastard has been screwing everything up for us! I'm taking him down. Then I think I'll have a little fun with the rabbits." She said licking her lips.
Geoff began glowing, and he incased his wrist and hand in Gravity Dust in case he needed to call the 'Junkers Toolkit'.
"HEY!" A familiar voice yelled.
Harriet turned around to see Yatsuhashi looking down at her.
"Yatsuhashi!" Geoff yelled.
"Forget everything you saw." Yatsuhashi said to the Ace Ops.
Geoff turned Awena away from the crowd and started walking away.
"Excuse me?" Harriet asked.
"Forget." Yatsuhashi said again.
The Ace Ops fell asleep, and Yatsuhashi walked after Velvet, Geoff, and Awena.
"Thank ye." Geoff said shutting down his Semblance and shutting down the Gravity Gauntlet.
"Let's get Velvet away from here. I don't want anyone seeing the storm my calm hides."
"Sorry fer not lookin' after Velvet better."
"You did enough. Let's go."
They left and walked towards a bullhead that would take them to Mantel.
When the Ace Ops woke up, they looked around.
"What are we doing here?" Harriet asked.
"I... don't... know." The wolf Faunus said.
"Shut up Marrow." She spoke.
When Velvet woke up, she looked around.
"Water." She rasped.
Geoff handed her a bottle of water, and she drained it.
"More." She wheezed.
Geoff went to the kitchen and poured her a pitcher of water and grabbed a cup before walking back.
Velvet grabbed the pitcher and downed the contents spilling some on her front.
"Wow. Ye must have been thirsty."
"They take a lot out of me." Velvet gasped out. "I need to constantly stay hydrated."
"I'll bet. Is it because o' th' heat or does yer entire body disappear when you change?"
"It's... I don't know." She said walking to the bathroom and closing the door.
A few seconds later a completely bare skeleton walked out of the bathroom.
"I guess it's just a skeleton." She said before walking back into the bathroom and coming out as Velvet, fully dressed in her soaked battle gear.
"I think I need to go back to the manor to change."
"We can't go back right now." Geoff said.
"What? Why not?"
"I need ta get in touch with Ironwood ta explain what happened, but he's not answering. It's like he's ignoring me."
"Well then. What am I going to do about my clothes?"
Geoff walked her to the storeroom.
"What is this place?" She asked.
"This is th' clinic tha' Jason started. It's going ta change Mantle and Atlas fer th' better."
"It's amazing."
"Thanks. We help anyone down on their luck and try ta make their lives a little easier."
"How can you guys afford all this?"
"We sell everything here at a discounted price, and if people can't afford it, we barter."
"What if they don't have anything?"
"Well, everyone has something. Even if it's th' clothes on their back."
"What!"
"Okay. I said tha' wrong. We will trade someone a new outfit, a good meal, first aid, hygiene products, home goods, food, etc. for th' clothes on their back if all else fails. They choose an outfit they like, change, give us their old one, which we wash by th' way, as well as mend, wash again, and bobs yer uncle it's good as new."
"So, you guys do everything to help them."
"Yeah." Geoff became sad for a minute. "Unfortunately, we can't save everyone."
He walked her to a wall and showed her...
Velvet gasped and held her hands to her mouth as she looked up at a billboard with "Fallen." Across the top. Most of them were children.
"Yeah." Geoff sighed a heavy sigh. "These are th' ones we couldn't save. We're going to change this."
"I'll help."
"Thanks lass." Geoff said holding his hand out for her to take.
She took it and he led her to the storeroom where he showed her the clothes. "Take yer pick."
Velvet picked out an outfit and went to the bathroom to change.
When she came out, she was wearing a black bodysuit with brown Capri's, and a brown hoodie.
On her feet she wore her boots.
Geoff handed her a pair of golden vambraces.
She put them on and hugged him.
"Thank you." She spoke.
"Yer welcome lass. How do you like the new outfit?"
"It's nice, but I don't think I like it. Maybe it's the other me though."
"We'll go choose somethin' tha' fits ye better."
"This is fine. I have an outfit that Coco bought me when we first got here. I'll change into that when we get back."
"Okay. Let's go see if Yatsuhashi has calmed down yet."
"Yatsu is here?"
"Yeah. He showed up after ye did yer thing."
"After I killed those people." She said sadly.
"Yeah."
'How many did I kill?' She asked the Rider.
'Death total: 31.'
Velvet shuddered.
Geoff put his arm around her and pulled her closer.
She wrapped an arm around his back and leaned into him as they walked.
They found Yatsuhashi in the kitchen cooking.
"Hey Velvet." He spoke.
"Hi Yatsu."
"Want something to eat?"
"Yatsu." Velvet said. "You're shaking."
"I thought I'd calmed down enough. Guess not."
"What do you mean?"
Yatsuhashi looked at her. "Oh." She spoke.
"What?" Geoff asked.
"Yatsu is a very calm Hunter, but he does have a fuse. He's really protective. In fact, if he knew about Cardin back at Beacon then he might have killed him."
"Not if Coco got ta him first."
"Yeah."
"What did Cardin do to you at Beacon?" Yatsuhashi asked.
"He pulled my ears." Velvet said.
Yatsuhashi looked at Velvet before he left the kitchen.
Geoff ran in and took over.
Velvet followed Yatsuhashi.
"Yatsu?" She asked when she found him.
"Why didn't you tell us Velvet?" Yatsuhashi asked. "Is that what you meant when you killed Cardin on the way to Haven?"
"Yes." She said Boeing her head in shame. "I didn't tell you because I didn't want to make a scene, and Jason took care of it."
"Really? What did Jason do?"
"He almost ripped Cardin's ears off."
"Sounds like Jason. Why didn't you tell us though?"
"I didn't want you guys to kill Cardin. He was just a bully, and..."
"He wasn't just some bully!" Yatsu yelled. "He was a racist ass who thought he could do whatever he wanted to without the fear of consequences. He needed to be put in his place!"
"And he was!"
"He tried killing Jason!"
"I know, but if you guys had been expelled..." she started crying. "... I couldn't go through Beacon without you guys."
Yatsuhashi wrapped Velvet in his strong arms and held her. "I'm sorry." He spoke. "I didn't know."
Velvet hugged him back and didn't stop until she stopped crying.
"Uh Yatsu. You can put me down now."
Yatsuhashi put Velvet down, and they walked back inside.
Coco and Tyra walked into a clothing store.
"Let's get you ready for tonight." She said looking Tyra up and down.
"Faunus aren't allowed in here." Tyra said.
"Yes, they do. I know the owner personally." Coco said.
They walked through the store and to the back where the clubbing dresses were.
Coco grabbed a few and pulled Tyra to the back where she handed her the dresses.
"Try these on and come show me."
"But these aren't designed for Faunus. What about my tail."
"Damn. Sorry. I forgot."
"It's okay. Where should we go then?"
"Let me ask these guys. They have to do work for the Faunus in the military right?"
"I guess."
"Okay. Let's go."
They found a worker and pulled her to the side.
"Excuse me." Coco said. "Where are your Faunus clothes?"
"We don't serve Faunus." The woman said in an arrogant nasal tone.
"What about the military Faunus?"
"If you send in an order, we can have it here in six to eight weeks."
"Screw that!" Coco yelled. "Now help my friend!"
"I'm sorry ma'am, but those are the rules. Now leave before I call my manager."
Coco smiled an evil smile. "Please call your manager." She spoke.
"Manager's assistance and security." The woman said into a scroll.
A man in a blue three-piece suit and three security guards came out.
"What's going on here?" The manager asked.
"Hi uncle Rubé." Coco said.
"COCO!" The man yelled opening his arms for a hug.
Coco ran into his arms and hugged him.
"How have you been Coco? I know Beacon was attacked. How are you handling that?"
"I lost my first girlfriend there." Coco admitted.
"Oh. I'm so sorry." Rubé said. "Is there anything I can do? I know new fashion makes you feel better."
"Well. I decided to try dating again after I met Tyra here, this is my first date since Beacon, and we wanted to look nice. So, we come in here, and your Faunus stuff isn't on the racks, so we come and ask this bitch, but she said that it takes six to eight weeks to get something made for Faunus."
Rubé looked at the girl. "You're fired." He spoke.
"What! Why?"
"You know that we have Faunus attire."
"Fine! I didn't want to work here anyway. Stupid animals!"
"Get out!"
The girl threw her tag at Rubé who caught it in two of his fingers. "Guards. Would you escort her out?"
"Whoa." Tyra said.
The guards led her out.
"I am so sorry. Your order will be coming out of her paycheck, and everything else will be on the house."
"Thank you, uncle Rubé." Coco said.
"Come this way." Rubé said.
They walked through a set of double doors and into the back.
"Whoa!" Tyra said looking around the room.
"We pride ourselves on helping everyone here in Atlas." Rubé said. "Humans and Faunus alike. We would have them out front with the rest of the stock, but asses like that would have destroyed them."
"Can I look?" Tyra asked.
"Of course."
Tyra went through the aisle's looking at the clothes and dresses.
"So?" Rubé asked. "I know that life has been difficult since Beacon, but how have you been?"
"I wasn't doing okay at first. I barely ate, barely slept. It got so bad that my Team tried wiping my memory."
"I'm sure their intentions were pure."
"They were, but it made me see that she wouldn't want me to be depressed like that. She would want me to move on."
"Mm-hmm, and you think this girl is the one?"
"It's one date uncle Rubé. We will take it slow."
"Uh huh."
"I will."
"I can't decide on what to get!" Tyra yelled.
Coco walked over and picked out seven casual outfits, an outfit to go clubbing, a nice dress, and walked Tyra to the front. "You're an Autumn. So, these will go nicely with your skin tone."
Rubé just shook his head and laughed. "Might I offer you a Hunter's outfit and weapons?" He asked.
"But... I'm not a Hunter."
"Do you think that stops people?"
"I don't have any training."
"That didn't stop Jaune." Coco said.
"I don't know who Jaune is, but okay."
"Come this way." Rubé said.
They walked downstairs and came to a doorway.
Rubé held his scroll up before he held his finger to the fingerprint scanner.
The scanner moved across his finger scanning his fingerprint before beeping once.
He activated his mocha-colored Aura, and the scanner beeped a second time before there was a hiss of air, a third beep, and the door opened.
Rubé rubbed his thumb and led them into the room.
"Pretty high tech." Tyra noticed.
"Yes." Rubé said. "Yes, it is. It requires a randomly generated code, a fingerprint scan, Aura scan, and blood sample."
"Well, where's the retinal scan?" She joked.
They walked to a second door and Rubé looked into a retinal scanner.
"What? Oh, come on!"
Rubé smirked at her. "The reason there is so much security is because I run a second business on the black market."
"Do you tell everyone you bring down here?"
"Yes. Because they are looking for Black Market gear. I make state of the art gear and sell it to people in need. I only sell to the desperate and charge a fair price."
"What is considered a fair price?"
"A job."
"What?"
"Yes. They have to do a job for me. Nothing scandalous or vile mind you, but something they can do easily."
"Like what?"
"Your job will be..."
There was a tense silence for a long minute.
"...to make Coco happy."
"Wait. That's it? Not steal General Ironwood's left boot or steal the council's hat sizes."
"Nope. Just steal Coco's heart."
Coco blushed at that.
"Really?" Tyra asked.
"Tyra. What is your Semblance?"
"Veracity. It helps me tell if someone is lying to the point that I can spot a lie in a 99% truthful statement."
"Mm-hmm." Rubé said.
"But why would you ask that if you didn't know?"
"Because. My semblance is Cognition. It allows me to know anything about anyone just by reading their Aura. I know what you've been through. You have every reason to hate humans, but instead you gave them a chance. You deserve to be happy. Coco deserves to be happy. Go be happy together."
"You don't mind Coco dating a Faunus?"
Rubé pulled a photo wallet out of his suit coat and opened it before showing her the pictures inside.
On the left was a dashing, younger Rubé.
On the right was a picture of a young Squirrel Faunus with a fluffy squirrel tail.
In the middle was a picture of the two. Rubé hugging the Squirrel Faunus from behind, and the two kissing.
"This was Insa on the day of our wedding."
"You both look lovely."
"We were happy. Unfortunately, my family, as well as Coco's parents, hated anything that was different. They hated change. Humans marry Humans, Faunus marry Faunus, Men marry Women, Woman marry Men, you get the idea. They can't stand change. They disowned me, and when Coco came out, they disowned her too."
"What?" Tyra asked looking at Coco in shock.
"It's true." Coco said rubbing her shoulder. "I'm just not wired to like guys, and they hated me for it."
This was a side of Coco; Tyra hadn't seen in the few short weeks Team CFVY had been in Atlas.
She ran over and hugged Coco. "I'm sorry." She whispered.
"Now you see why all I want in exchange for your gear is Coco's happiness."
"I'll do it." Tyra said.
"Good. Now come on. We have much to do."
They walked to the back of the room and Rubé pulled out a scroll before showing her.
"Take this into that room and find your Battle Gear. When you find something you like bring it out and we will find a weapon based on your choice."
"Really?"
"Yes. Your armor shows your fighting style."
"Okay." Tyra said taking the scroll into the room.
"Can I go in there?" Coco asked.
"Not yet. Let her choose first. Then you can go, and color coordinate her."
Coco smiled.
Tyra came out an hour later holding the scroll out.
Rubé took it and looked it over before showing Coco.
"Damn girl." Coco said. "You know how to coordinate yourself."
"I had to. Otherwise..." she rubbed her shoulder.
"I think a sniper." Rubé said. "Take into account that she's an Autumn, and..." he hit a lever and a row of purses and wallets came out. "I think a revolver for close quarters should do the trick."
Tyra looked at the purses and wallets. "What are those?"
"Well. Take your pick, and I'll show you."
Tyra walked through row of purses and wallets until she found a bluish grey clutch.
She looked around and found an emerald, green purse before walking back.
"Ah." Rubé said. "I see that you found fancy in the 45-70 Revolver and the 45-70 rifle. Not your normal sniper considering its range is only one thousand yards at best, but an interesting choice. Why did you choose these?"
"I like the colors." She replied mater of factly.
"I like a girl who knows what she likes." Coco said.
"And I a customer." Rubé agreed. "Let's test them out."
They took her to a shooting range at the back of the room and gave her the ammo.
"Aren't bullets supposed to be pointed?" She asked when she saw the flat tipped bullets.
"Normally yes." Rubé said, but each Gun requires different ammunition for them."
"But these are flat."
"Yes. Part of that is what gives them such a punch. Most of these rounds will kill most Grimm easily. Especially the younger ones."
"Then why don't people buy them?"
"Personal preference I guess."
"Let's try them out then." Tyra said.
"Very well. Flick the clasp on top of the clutch if you please."
Tyra did, and the clutch folded out into a revolver with a long barrel.
"Allow me to introduce you to the 45-70 BFR Revolver."
"What does BFR mean?"
"Big Freaking Revolver."
"So, it's the 45-70 Big Freaking Revolver, Revolver?"
"Well... yes and no. When we abbreviate it, we call it the BFR revolver? When we leave it alone, we call it the Big Freaking Revolver. You can just call it the 45-70 until you name it."
Tyra looked at the 45-70 before looking at Coco. "Devotion." She said loading the Revolver.
"I like the name. Now. Shoot these targets." Rubé said pressing his Scroll.
Several targets appeared and she aimed at them and fired.
"Whoa!" Coco exclaimed. "Where did you learn how to do that?"
"Um..." Tyra said tapping her index fingers together. "Well. I used to get bored at work, and a nice Huntsman showed me how to calculate trick shots, and Viridian, Clifford, Geoffrey, and Jason would let me target practice when they were working on weapons, mainly pistols, but I don't like advertising that I know how to shoot because then the Atlesians think you're going to revolt, and they hurt you."
Coco clenched her fists so tight that her knuckles cracked. "How do you know that?"
"When some of the soldiers saw me playing darts with that Huntsman, they dragged him away. I haven't heard from him since. I was hurt for a while because of it. Then Jason found me, and my life is a lot better."
Coco hugged Tyra. "I'm sorry."
Tyra hugged her back.
Rubé just looked back at Coco and Tyra and took a picture. 'That's going to be my new wallpaper.' He thought.
After their embrace Coco took 'Devotion' and handed Tyra the purse.
It was quite a bit heavier.
"If you will put it over your shoulder." Rubé instructed.
Tyra did.
"Good. Now, twist the knob on the front."
She did and the purse folded out into a repeater rifle with a sling.
"May I present to you the Atlas Military Springfield 45-70 government."
"This is quite a bit heavier." Tyra said.
"Well, it is bigger, so therefore it is heavier."
Tyra loaded a round into the chamber and aimed.
"You may shoot when ready." Rubé said before cringing and putting a finger to Coco's mouth.
Tyra held the rifle the way she had seen Geoff and Viridian hold theirs.
She took in a breath before letting it out and pulled the trigger.
"Ouch!" She yelled as she landed on her butt, not expecting the recoil.
"Are you okay?" Coco asked.
"Yeah. I just wasn't ready for the recoil."
"Would you like to try again?" Rubé asked.
"Yeah. Now that I know what to expect from the recoil, I'll be better prepared."
She loaded another round into the chamber, changed her stance, and shot.
"Wow." She said rolling her shoulder. "That recoils a bitch."
"Would you like to try another gun perhaps?" Rubé asked.
"No. I like it. I think I'll call it 'Behemoth'."
"I applaud your choice of names."
"Thank you."
"Let me get you your ammunition for your weapons. I hate to let you go, but I do have other clients I need to attend. Why not come over for dinner tonight?"
"Thank you, Uncle Rubé." Coco said hugging him.
"You're welcome Coco bean." He said returning the hug.
They took the ammo and clothes and left.
"Oh." Rubé said. "I'll be sending you a text when your gear is done."
"Don't I need to give you my number?" Tyra asked.
"No. I'll just text Coco when it's done."
"Okay. Thank you." She spoke.
"No." He said under his breath. "Thank you. For making Coco happy."
Geoff and Velvet walked through the interior of Beacon II.
"You helped all of these Faunus?" She asked.
"Aye lass. Them and Awena. They were trapped in a brothel in Mantel."
"THEY WHAT!" Velvet yelled.
"Aye. I went in to try and stop them, but Cliff and Viridian had other plans. Cliff went and got everyone out, and Viridian destroyed it."
"Good."
Geoff had an internal debate before Velvet put her hand on his shoulder.
"What is it?"
"Harriet used the Brothel quite a bit."
"SHE WHAT!"
"Aye. She was pissed when she found out tha' th' Brothel was destroyed. She also admitted that the Faunus in tha' place were meant ta please us."
Velvet began shaking and smoking.
"Velvet!" Geoff yelled. "I need ya ta calm down! She'll get hers one day. We jus' need ta be better than her."
"She... did that... to... FAUNUS!" Velvet yelled becoming the Rider.
"I know! I know. But ye need ta calm down lass. Would ye like ta help others who're oppressed?"
"Yes." Velvet said calming down.
"Tha's good lass. Tha's good." Geoff said wrapping his arms around her.
She hugged him back and cried into his shoulder. "It's not fair!" She sobbed.
"I know lass." Geoff said hugging her just a little bit tighter. "I know."
That night.
Tyra pulled on the hem of her dress. "Are you sure this is really supposed to be this short?"
"Yes." Coco said. "We're going clubbing after dinner with my uncle."
"Won't he mind us wearing such skimpy outfits?" She asked looking in the mirror at her forest green mini dress.
There was barely an inch under her tail, and it barely covered her ass, and was tight around her bust pushing up what little she had and showing a bit of cleavage.
"The whole point of clubbing is to dance, get drunk, fight off some pervs, and if all goes well, we have ourselves a second date planned."
"And if it doesn't end well?"
"We end this thing with a one-night stand. So, you better be good tonight." Coco said with a predatory smile.
Tyra blushed crimson at that.
Coco laughed, and they grabbed her purse.
Tyra grabbed her clutch and followed Coco.
They walked to Rubé's house, a decent sized three floor house with a small flower bed in front and knocked.
Rubé answered the door. "Coco." He said hugging his niece. "Let me look at you."
Coco spread her arms to show her dress, just like Tyra's just without the hole for a tail and was mocha colored.
"You look amazing." He spoke.
"Thank you."
"Let me take a look at you Tyra." He spoke.
Tyra spun around slowly showing him.
"That dress suits you. You look nice in it."
Tyra didn't hear any deceit in his words.
"Thank you." She blushed.
"I am a gentleman and a fashion designer." He spoke. "I don't have any interest in your bodies." He said not unkindly. "I want you guys to look your best, and you do."
"Thank you." Both girls said in unison.
They went in and sat down to a nice dinner.
The next morning.
Coco and Tyra walked downstairs in Todd manor yawning and wiping the sleep out of their eyes.
They walked into the kitchen and saw everyone looking at them.
"What!" Coco demanded reaching for the coffee.
"You don't remember last night?" Velvet asked blushing.
"No. What did we do?"
"You guys came in here sucking each other's face and stumbled upstairs where you proceeded to have sex. All. Night. Long."
"Really? It must have been some good sex then." Coco said while Tyra blushed.
"You were screaming." Fox said.
"Really? What was I screaming?"
"'Right there! Yes! Right there Tyra! Right there! Gods that feels amazing!" Fox said in a falsetto.
Tyra blushed crimson and began twisting her tail in between her hands.
"I do not sound like that!" Coco yelled punching Fox in the shoulder.
"Um... Coco." Tyra said. "I think I know what we did last night."
"Really?" Coco said. "What?"
Tyra showed Coco her tail, and everyone looked at it in shock.
Coco grabbed Tyra by the hand and went upstairs to her room.
"What was that?" Fox asked.
"I have an idea." Velvet said.
"I'm just glad Coco has finally moved on. Auburn would want her too."
Geoff just sat there blushing.
"Geoff?" Velvet asked putting a hand on his shoulder.
"THEY NEVER TAUGHT US THA' IN SEX ED!" Geoff yelled before he realized he'd said it out loud.
"I'm going ta Atlas Academy taday!" He yelled running for the front door.
The rest of Team CFVY looked at each other in confusion.
Geoff walked into his workshop at Atlas Academy and began looking around.
He grabbed the bundle in his drawer and went to his workbench.
He'd found some gold while looking through some boxes, and the other day he'd found the other materials that he needed.
He put the gold over the fire and let it melt into the crucible.
While the gold was melting, he took out a sapphire he bought and cut the tip off before cutting a slice off.
He polished the sapphire before he cut a hole in the center and polished it.
He then took a diamond he'd bought and placed it in the hole in the sapphire.
He took a bit of gold and placed it on the bottom around the diamond fusing the sapphire and diamond together.
He then took out his scroll and looked at a picture of Velvets hand.
He measured her finger and made a mold for the ring before pouring the liquid gold into the mold.
While that dried, he made a fastener for the Sapphire to fuse the sapphire to the golden band.
The final thing he did was strip away a piece of the mold and put the fastener on the golden band.
When that was done, he hid the ring to let it dry.
"It looks lovely Master Geoffrey." Awena said from the doorway causing Geoff to jump. "Oop. I'm sorry Master Geoffrey. I didn't mean to startle you."
"It's fine." Geoff said.
"May I ask why you didn't go to a jewelers?"
"They wouldn't sell me one, or if they did it would be a piece of shite ring that you could buy in a dollar store."
"Oh. Master Geoffrey. You almost never swear."
"I'm sorry lass, but in order ta propose ta Velvet I need ta make the ring myself. What if she doesn't like it?"
"I'm always available Master Geoffrey."
Geoff smirked at her. "Thanks lass, but ye'll find someone fer yerself one day. I'm just not the one fer ye."
"I understand. How long have you and miss Velvet known each other?"
"About a year."
"Don't you think that's a little fast? I mean I don't know because I was born and raised in that hell hole, but for normal people isn't that a little fast?"
"Where I'm from it's not. People often get married a year after meeting."
"Is it because of the Grimm?" She asked.
"Yeah." Geoff lied. "It's because of the Grimm."
"I see. I'm sure that miss Velvet will say yes. She seems to like you, and I think she'd be crazy to say no."
"Thanks." Geoff said. "Let's go see Ironwood."
Thy walked to the Generals office and knocked.
Ironwood stepped out.
"What is it Mr. Patrick."
"I just wanted to ask about the incident yesterday."
"What incident?"
"The mob in Atlas?"
"Do you mean the dead bodies my Ace Ops found yesterday?"
"Yes sir."
"They have been taken care of. Good day Mr. Patrick." Ironwood said closing the door.
"That was weird." Awena said.
"Aye lass. That it was."
"Should we go back home?"
"I guess."
They left Atlas Academy and went back to the Manor.
When they got back Tyra and Coco were waiting for him.
"Hello?" He spoke.
"We need your help." Coco said.
"And Viridian's." Tyra added.
"Okay. I'll call him..."
"He's already in the Armory." Coco said grabbing Geoff's shirt and pulling him to the Armory.
When they arrived, they saw Viridian standing there.
"I need yer held lad." Viridian said.
"What's up?"
"They want us to make this..." Viridian tossed Geoff the 45-70. "Inta a long-range sniper rifle while keeping it the same."
"Well..." Geoff said looking it over. "...I can think of a few ways at do tha'."
"How?" Tyra asked.
"We can create a few different types of ammo. One that is wrapped in a pointed shell casing that will break apart after 1000 feet doubling your length.
Tyra nodded.
"The second is to put it in a case with wind Dust that will wrap around it the bullet and will add some distance, won't know until we test it out."
"Okay." Tyra said.
"And the third will not give it distance. In fact, if anything it will half the distance, but it will make it a bit more lethal."
"And what's that?"
"We drill angular holes at th' front and back o' th' bullet and with any luck it will give it a spin that will make it like a saw blade."
"That sounds dangerous." Tyra said.
"And nearly impossible!" Viridian said. "Tha's not what the 45-70 was built fer. It was designed during a time when we hadn't figured out pointed bullets yet, so it was flat in the front, severely increasing drag and turning the flight pattern inta a dramatic u shape with all tha' drop th' flat point and heavy weight gave it. Tha' being said, it was still designed for long range, 1000 yards or so, as this was a military cartridge in th' days when everyone was going fer massive range. It would take extreme skill for th' sniper ta use effectively and a specialized scope ta compensate fer th' drop, but it COULD be done. So yes, we could make one. Ye'd just need ta practice yer skill."
Everyone looked at Viridian.
"What?" He asked.
"That was REALLY passionate." Coco said. "You got any secret fantasies you want to tell us about?"
"I can respect a gun lass. They don't make 'em this way anymore. This gun is a classic. Where'd ye get it?"
"My uncle Rubé." Coco said.
"Rubé?" Viridian asked. "As in Rubé Kenai."
"Yeah. Do you know him?"
"Aye. We knew each other when we were younger, but he became a soldier, and I became a humble blacksmith."
"That's cool. Maybe you two should meet up and talk shop or whatever."
"Perhaps, but let's get Tyra's weapon ready first."
"Okay."
Geoff looked at the bullets. "So? How do ye want ta make this work?"
"I have an idea lad."
Tyra was standing in the tundra outside Mantle.
"Okay." Viridian said into the earpiece. "Ye and Coco need ta defend yerselves and Mantle from the Grimm. Bob and I will help if'n ye need us."
"Awena and I will also be here if'n ye need us." Geoff said.
"Don't forget about us." Velvet said. "Yatsu, Fox, and I are here too."
Thanks." Tyra said.
"Here they come!" Viridian said.
Tyra looked through the scope and saw a pack of Sabyr running towards them.
She loaded the long-range rounds into the chamber and held the rifle up.
She put her tail down to offer more support.
She looked through the scope and pulled the trigger.
The round flew through the air, and at 1000 yards a casing split sending the flat tipped round flying farther hitting the Sabyr in the head making the Sabyr's head explode.
She kept firing until her magazine ran out.
"Reloading!" She yelled.
Coco stepped in front of her and readied 'Gianduja' to fire.
Tyra unloaded the Magazine with a fresh wind Dust Magazine and loaded the first round into the chamber.
"Ready!" She yelled.
Her and Coco switched places and she aimed before pulling the trigger.
The wind Dust surrounded the bullet making it fly faster before it punched through a Sabyr's head making it explode.
She emptied that magazine into the pack and yelled. "Reloading!"
Coco stepped in front of her and began mowing down the Sabyr's that got too close.
Tyra unloaded the Magazine and loaded in the third one.
"Ready!" She yelled.
Her and Coco switched places, and she aimed before firing.
She fired and once the bullet cleared the barrel it flew towards the Sabyr's before it began spinning like a buzz saw blade tearing through the Sabyr's head when it made contact killing it.
She emptied that magazine before Viridian came over the earpiece.
"Oh shite!" He yelled. "Goliath's ! We've got Goliath's incoming!"
"Lass!" Geoff yelled. "Check yer bag! I gave ye a little somethin' special!"
Tyra looked in her ammo bag and saw a cylinder. "This Cylinder?" She asked.
"Aye! Put it on yer barrel and pull th' trigger!"
She put the cylinder on the front of the barrel.
She aimed at the Goliath's and pulled the trigger.
"Nothing happened!" She yelled.
"Did ye load a fresh long-range magazine into yer gun?"
Tyra blushed. "No."
"Ye gotta do tha' first lass!"
Tyra loaded a magazine into the rifle, aimed, and fired.
The cylinder flew through the air and hit the lead Goliath.
The following explosion sent everyone in the area flying in opposite directions.
"Whoa." Coco said getting up.
"The Goliath's are leaving!" Viridian yelled.
"We won?" Tyra asked.
"Yeah." Coco said. "We won. Let's go party." She said wrapping her arm around Tyra's waist.
The group walked back towards Todd Manor talking and laughing as they did.
Viridian walked Bob towards the Warehouse Beacon II was located.
"Let's go Bob." He said scratching behind his neck.
Bob growled out in pleasure.
In the bushes on the tundra a figure watched the midget riding the Ursa.
"One shot. One kill." He spoke.
There was a gunshot, and everyone looked around.
Everyone's eyes fell on Tyra who's 45-70 was smoking.
She changed 'Behemoth' to the purse mode and gave Viridian a two-finger salute before turning around and kept walking.
Viridian looked around and saw a gun barrel sticking out of the bushes.
"Thank ye lass." He whispered.
"How did you know he was there?" Coco asked.
"I'm a Kangaroo mouse Faunus. Knowing where predators are is practically second nature to me."
Coco put her arm around her shoulder. "You're getting some special attention when we get back to the house." She spoke.
Tyra blushed as they walked.
