The next morning, the two girls hit the road once more. Anni was amazed by the sights of the city they were driving through the country. The girls were jamming to music on their radio
"Hey I just met you and this is crazy...Here's my number...So Call me maybe" They sang
As the songs went on and on, commercials finally went on.
"Aw...just as the songs were getting good…" Eva grumbled.
Then Anni heard something familiar "Wait wait wait, Listen" she placed a paw in front of Eva.
"The fur power circus is moving their tour earlier than we expected…their first show is going to be tomorrow night in Dubai...then they'll leave the next morning for Asia" the announcer said
Panic spread on Anni's face. "What…" Anni whispered
"I thought you said that the circus tour isn't for a week…"
"It is in a week...They're leaving without me…" Anni began to whimper.
"Hey hey...Don't worry about it...I'll get you to them I promise...Hang on" then Eva drove off to the distant road
"I'm telling you this search isn't getting us anywhere…" Skipper argued with Alex
"I'm not giving up on my daughter…" Alex yelled
"Alex, Annita could be across town by now…" Gloria told him
"Yeah what if she's….What if she's…" Marty started
"No, she's not dead...I refuse to believe that she's dead...I'm not letting her down again...Can we please keep looking…"
"Negative, we have to move to the next town Dubai…" Skipper affirmed
"That's perfect we can still search there…" Alex told him
"Alex...Give it a rest already...Our daughter is gone…" Gia screamed at her mate.
"Gia I miss her just as much as you do but I'm not giving up on her…" Alex took his large paw and held his mate's smaller ones.
"We have to get back or we will get lost…" Gia walked away from him along with the rest of the animals. Alex then shed a tear and began to walk with them. Visions of Anni began to flash into his head. He even thought about her when she was still in Gia's belly
Late at night, Alex gently rubbed Gia's tummy. He smiled warmly that his little girl was moving around in his mate's stomach. Gia was on the verge of falling asleep and she was holding her two sleeping Alex felt his soon-to-be daughter kicked roughly.
"Shh, Shh Shh...Mommy and Daddy are right here sweetheart...Don't be scared" Alex soothed, pressing one side of his face on Gia's tummy while still rubbing it.
"She might be scared of the dark…" Gia commented tiredly.
"I know but she won't have to worry about it because we're here for her."
Then the kicks began to slowly die down.
"She's asleep…" Gia yawned and fell asleep soon after her daughter.
Alex grinned at his mate and looked down at her round belly and gave it a soft kiss.
"Daddy loves you…" Alex whispered before falling asleep.
Alex could only look back at the memory and just shed tears as he walked back to the train.
When Eva and Anni parked, their faces were in shock...they saw a bunch of posters of them.
"Oh great...we're wanted here too...I don't want to be a criminal...ugh my mom is gonna kill me…" Eva panicked.
As she rambled on. Anni walked around and saw a store nearby and an idea came into her head
Eva saw her friend looking at the store. "What is it?"
Anni gave her a smug smile and pointed to the store.
The two girls ran inside and decided to try on clothes. Anni then glanced at a long-sleeved red shirt and a denim skirt with a zipper on the front. She grabbed the largest size and ran into the dressing room.
She grinned at herself and then stepped out for Eva to see
"Lookin' good" Eva smiled.
Eva picked a white cropped shirt, a pair of denim shorts, and yellow and white sneakers. The girls look in the mirror and Anni tilted her head
"I don't think this is enough…" She told her human friend
"What do you mean this isn't enough?" Eva asked. Then Anni pointed at her head.
"You have got to be joking me…" the teenager sighed and they saw a hair salon next door and they raced there.
Anni still had her dark brown hair but it was slicked to the right side(Think Millie Bobby Brown's hair in the First Day Feels photoshoot with converse) She smiled and looked at her outfit and it matched perfectly with her red beret that she quickly placed on after the cut. As for Eva…
"You are not making me blonde…"
"We need to so you won't be recognized...plus I think blonde might look good on you…"
"Yes trust the ugly girl…" the hairstylist said
"Hey, I'm not ugly…"
Then Eva's hair was a complete golden blond with extensions that reached to her chest. Her bangs are more loosely blunt and her hair was tied in half-up twin tails.
"Huh...not bad"
"See blonde doesn't look bad on you…"
As the girls left the hair salon, a few boys looked at them and Anni and Eva winked back at them. Then a dark shadow loomed over them and the Anni quickly turned around and saw Dr. Bont, trying to grab for them
"Eva…" Anni yelled. Then the teenager and the cub grabbed hands and ran off.
"Okay, we need to get the van…"
"No Anni, we're wanted remember...we need a new set of wheels…"
Then Dr. Bont rammed into the van, making Anni scream.
"You're out of your mind…" Eva screamed. Dr. Bont was about to go after them until he was stopped by a muscular man.
"You tried to hurt these girls.." he spoke in a rough voice. It reminded Anni so much of Vitaly. Then more men gathered around to corner The vicious doctor
"He must've seen us…" She whispered to Eva.
Then something pulled them aside. An equally strong wife appears before them.
"Go there's a car shop nearby...they'll give you a car right away…"
"Let us fight with you guys…" Eva announced.
"No, too dangerous, and what about your furry friend…" the woman said, glancing at Anni. "Now go…"
The girls then raced to the shop and grabbed a car. Eva tried to start it but it was no good.
"Hey you can't steal that…" a man with a scrawny voice said, holding out keys
"Well we just did.." Eva snatched the keys and they took off with the car. Eva looked through the rear view mirror and looked at the crowd dispersing and Bont's van chasing after them
"Jeez this guy doesn't quit…" then Eva stepped on the pedal and they sped up to the freeway. Eva checked the rearview mirror every so often and instructed Anni to stay hidden. Then suddenly…
BLAM
The familiar van rammed her from behind, making Anni yelp.
"Are you sick?" Eva screamed. Then the insane doctor rammed her again on the side
"That cub is MINE!" He screeched as he kept ramming the new car. A few bystanders began to record the chaos and a few of them shouted.
Then Eva took a quick exit and Dr. Bont ran into a truck. Eva and Anni looked behind them and took a breath of relief.
"What are we going to do now-" Anni started.
"Let's just keep driving...Okay…" Eva snapped.
When the truck finally pulled over to a truck stop, the man got out and saw Dr. Bont's van, totaled at the end of the cargo metal box.
"Sir are you okay?" the driver asked. No response. The driver didn't like that there was no response. He slowly crept closer to the van and he tried to open the door but Dr. Bont came out and slit his throat with a scalpel.
"I'll kill em...I'll kill those girls…" Dr. Bont vented in rage. He turned and saw that a few others witnessed his crime and one of the men were about to call on the phone but he took out a larger knife from his bag, making the man put down the phone. He took the poor driver's keys and began to drive off, hunting for his prey.
Finally, the girls entered Dubai and Anni woke up from her brief nap and saw a familiar tent.
"My home!" Anni screamed. Eva smiled at her furry friend and drove a little closer to the fairgrounds the circus was held in. the girls got out of the car and then Anni stopped. She began to have doubts.
"Do they really want me to come back...What if they don't want me…" Anni thought.
"Hey...Anni what's wrong…" Eva asked
"I...I...What if I..what if I don't want to leave you...Maybe We can be a family just the two of us…" Anni awkwardly proposed.
"What are you talking about?"
"I...I don't know if I want to go home…"
"But...You wanted to go home, you said it yourself…" Eva pointed to the tent.
"But I don't know if they want me back...I've caused nothing but trouble and I'm gonna be a failure if I go back...I thought maybe staying with you would be better…"
"Okay, what...You're telling me that you want to give up an exciting life to travel all over the world with your family just to be with me…"
"I don't know…" Anni snapped.
"Oh, you don't know...You don't think your family misses you...I can't believe you'd toss away your family just to be with me…"
"Well Well…" Anni stuttered.
"Well What?" Eva started to get angry. "You just want to be with me, knowing you'll be happier with me…Is that it Anni…"
"I...I" Anni angrily stuttered.
"What, spit it out...No one likes a stutterer…" then with anger building inside her, Anni bit Eva on the right forearm. It deeply shocked Anni that she had done this. It shocked Eva even more that her new ally had done this to her. All the blonde Eva could do now is stare at Anni angrily.
"Eva I'm sorry...I'm sorry…" Anni started to cry. "Maybe we can fix it…"
"Just go…" Eva silently but darkly said.
"But...But I…"
"I SAID GO!" Eva screamed. Anni jolted back. She was shaking and she began to sniffle and she began to run. She looked back at her possible new enemy which was something she caused.
"This is all my fault…" Anni ran further away from the circus. Then she screamed as she got grabbed by the tail by the vicious doctor.
"AT LAST I Found You…" Dr. Bont then proceeded to drag the screaming Anni.
"EVA...EVA HELP ME!" Anni cried. Then Dr. Bont then slapped the poor cub in the face.
"EVA...HELP ME...MOMMY, DADDY…" Anni screamed
Meanwhile, Eva was trying to bandage her injured arm. Then she began to think about what she said to Anni. Then she heard the screams. She frantically stood up and ran following after them until they disappeared.
"ANNI!" Eva shouted. "Where are you?!... ANNI…" EVa screamed
Then she saw a large truck she ran into this morning going in the opposite direction. Eva angrily stared and raced back to the car and began to drive after it. She knew it was the only thing to do. She knew Anni's family had to wait.
