The castle was huge, but not as huge as what lay outside the grounds. You couldn't believe this was your mother's territory, your territory too now. Yet you still demanded answers as to why the poor villagers suffered at the hands of those things.
"What are you thinking about?" Alcina asks you as she comes to stand behind you, her hands placed lightly on your shoulders. You're the same size as her daughters, so you come to about the height of her elbows.
"I actually nearly told my foster mother that I wasn't what she thought I was, but my brother told me not to as I wouldn't be welcomed back."
"Hmm, I see." Alcina mused. "People are not very welcoming to what we are."
"But I don't like to leave her in the dark, I'd rather her know." You tell her while turning around to wrap your arms around her.
She places her hands on your back, rubbing soothingly. "Sometimes it's best for them to be kept in the dark."
"I don't want anything bad to happen to them either," you say against her.
"I could have them brought up here?"
You shake your head, knowing your village mother wouldn't want that. "She wouldn't want that, and besides what with my sick sister. I mean her daughter. Why is everything so hard? I just wish I'd been left here. Why did I have to be taken away all for the sake of stupid humans!"
"I would have wanted nothing more, my darling. But fate had other things in store, but at least you're back with me. You're safe, that's all that matters."
"I just wish I could have grown up here. It makes things so complicated and I won't ever get that time back to bond with you properly. I love my foster family, but I never got to be with my real family." You grip her dress as you press your face into her, tears now start to soak through the fabric but she doesn't care. She cares for you only.
"We can't get our time back, my sweet. But we can make time together now," she soothes you softly.
"Thank you," you sniffle as you pull away. "I know my sisters can't fully understand, but I really want to be friends with them."
"Have they done or said anything to you?"
You shake your head with a smile. "No, they just told me how much they love you and they're very protective of you. I want to be protective of them too."
Alcina strokes a hand down your head softly. "I will have a word with them, if you wish?"
"No, it's fine." You tell her.
"That's alright, just let me know if you need any help with them."
"I will, thanks mother."
"As I said you're all to be treated equally. I..." the ringing of a phone has her scowling. "Sorry, sweetheart, I have to get that."
She makes the trek over to the other part of the castle, sitting down she looks herself over in the mirror before picking up the reciever."
"We're holding a meeting." Miranda's voice cuts through the line.
"I'm going to pass, if you don't mind." Alcina replies confidently, which doesn't go down well.
"You wish to pass?" Miranda repeats clearly taken aback.
"Yes, that is what I said is it not?" Alcina presses.
"You will be at that meeting!" Miranda demands of her now.
She could hear the anger in the woman's voice.
"I said no," Alcina tried to sound intimidating back, but she was a little fearful.
You'd followed Alcina with no real intentions, only to see more of the castle. You had no idea you'd now be listening in right by the door to the room your mother was taking the call. Your mind was screaming for you to leave and not listen in, but you were glued to the spot.
"Remember from once you came, Alcina! I gave you life and I can take it away!"
Alcina clenched her jaw at this.
"Then kill me!" she snapped as you gasped.
"Who wants to kill mother?" you whisper to yourself.
"Don't push your luck. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have eternal life or those things!"
Alcina now slammed her fist upon the dressing table. "Those things are my daughters!" she snarled.
"I don't care! You will come to this meeting or perish!"
"Then I'll accept the latter gladly," she sighed as she moved the receiver from her ear, hearing Miranda's last words ring out in her ear.
"You will pay for disobeying me!"
With that she placed the phone down. She couldn't help bury her face in her hands, not realising you'd been stood right outside the door listening in.
"Mother," you sigh softly.
Once Alcina stood to head for the door, you quickly turned to hastily hurry back down the corridor as fast and quietly as possible until...
"(Y/N), what are you doing here?"
There was a lot of emotion in her voice as she asked you. Swallowing nervously, you turn to her.
"I, uh, I was just checking out the castle. I really didn't know you were here." You lie as you were clearly listening in to her conversation.
Untimely she gives a nod while taking a deep intake of air through her nose to steady herself.
"Is everything alright?" you can't help but ask.
"Yes, my darling." She smiles as she simply passes you by.
You decide to hang around a little and head back into the room where mother had once been. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the small rocking cot. You kneel down next to it, resting your arms upon it as you look down. You can't help but wonder what life would have been like had you been brought up here in the castle with your mother and sisters.
"Did mother intend for me to have used this?" you sigh as to you rock it slowly, while imagining yourself laying in it with mother above you looking down on you.
Tears come easy, but you wipe them away to stand and go see what's behind the double doors. It's a bathroom, a large bath stands in the corner, a chest of drawers are opposite and you can't help but look at the lipstick. It was a lot larger than ordinary ones, but that was to be expected. Placing it back you headed off back through the castle.
oOo
"Bela! Cassandra! Daniela!" Alcina called for the three.
They looked to one another, surprised that she'd called them all by their names. This must be serious.
"Mother?" Cassandra asked as soon as the three materialised.
She smiled warmly at the three, raising her hand to one she caresses their cheek.
"What's going on? You're scaring us." Daniela looked up at her.
"Whatever happens just know that I love each and everyone of you."
"Why!?" Bela now starts to grow emotional. "Why are you saying this!?"
"I don't know what Mother Miranda has planned for me now, seen as I told her I'm through with her stupid games. She will turn the others against me, I have little choice but to tell you to..."
"No, mother! We will..."
"What's going on?" you ask from the doorway.
Alcina turns to look at you. "Take her and go to the stronghold. You know if the safe..."
"No!" you stand your ground as you storm over. "I'm not going anywhere!"
"It's going to be too risky to have you here," she says rather saddened by her decision. "I lost you once, I will not lose you again. None of you."
"But it's alright for us to lose you?" you glare at her.
"We're staying, mother. And there's nothing you can do about it!" Cassandra scolded.
Though she felt proud of them, she also felt annoyed by their ignorance.
"Get out, all of you!" she snarled.
"It's not going to work!" Bela now scowled.
"You disrespectful little... "
"Enough, mother. We've made our mind up and that's final." You tell her.
Daniela places an arm over your shoulders as she looks to her mother. "We won't run from anyone."
"I'm not going to get through to you am I?" Alcina now frowns as you all smile up at her.
"We're not afraid of that of hag," Daniela grins wildly.
oOo
"So, where's super size?" Heisenberg asks before making a joke only him and Salvatore laugh at. "On her period?"
"Alcina seems to believe that she can just abandon us," Miranda scowled under her mask.
Heisenberg was actually taken aback by this. "You mean she just decided she's not part of the family anymore?"
"Yes, that is exactly what I mean!" Miranda seethed.
Heisenberg let out an impressed whistle. "So what's your plans for her?"
"Death!"
'Alcina may be a bitch, but her turning from the family that's actually impressive. Bravo super size, bravo.'
"What do we do with him?" Angie now asked.
"Heisenberg the man's fate is in your hands," Miranda pointed.
"As you wish," he nodded to then stand, bringing his hammer down upon him. "I'll leave him to the wolves!"
As on cue, large wolf creatures peered out from the shadows to drop down as Ethan turned tail.
"Make sure he doesn't get in my way, and if you come across Alcina, kill her!"
Angie couldn't help but look back at Donna. "We have to kill big sis?"
Donna simply shook her head before she stood to head out with the others after Miranda had now disappeared.
"I will get mother's favour," Salvatore vowed before Heisenberg stopped him.
"Won't be any point, buddy. Miranda isn't going to be around for long."
"W-Why would you say that?" he asked quite upset.
"Miranda's used us all from the start and now that Alcina's left, she's getting panicked."
"But-But, everything I've done."
"Was for nothing," Heisenberg tried to get through to him. "What do you think she'll do when she gets her damn baby back?"
Salvatore lowered his head.
"She'll have no other use for us," Heisenberg pat him on the back before walking off.
Salvatore though upset, couldn't help but follow on after.
