The sun is now shining on Ash and other people, including Yusei and his friends. People from all walks of life have come to the floating island of Ragnarok, with one goal. That said goal, is to win the Duel of Legends Cup. The Signers that Ash have met, plus Leo, are being joined by other people. While the Duelists range in age, gender, and experience, Ash is lowest in the experience department. Regardless, along with Pikachu, he's ready to duel everyone and help save their world. Everyone at the base floor are now hearing footsteps echoing. As they look, some of them start to look at a person coming through the door of the very tall tower. The man is about seven feet high and looks like he's in his thirty's. He wears slick black shades and has a hairdo that makes him look like a shark. His outfit is a slick blue jacket that's over a gray shirt representing a robot's core. He also wears black plants and big black boots. The man then approaches to the front of the stage and the crowd, using a microphone to announce his welcome. "Welcome, duelists! My name is Surtr, I am the host and organizer of this very tournament, that you all know as the Duel of Legends Cup." Ash eyes him with intent, "So this is the host of this tournament. He does look suspicious..." However, Pikachu points out another suspicious person, who has an angry, almost offended look on his face. Ash turns to where Pikachu is pointing, and they both see the young adult's angry expression. Surtr is using The Old King, as a way to get under the skin of former champion, Jack Atlas. He has purple eyes, fair skin and spiked blonde hair, with two much longer strands in front of his ears that hang further down the rest of his hair. His other accessories include a neckband, a belt buckle and earrings in the shape of the letter A, the first letter of his last name. Jack also wears a long white trench coat lined with purple with spiked shoulders over a white plunging shirt, grey pants, and white boots.

"So that's the person Leo and Luna was talking about before," Pikachu thinking to himself, "He must've lost to Yusei in a close duel..." As the two look at Jack, who's offended after Surtr called him a former champion, the turbo duelist asks him a tough question. "So, Surtr, is there really a higher title than Duel King in Domino City?!," Atlas demanding an answer from the Surtr, in a Cocky British accent. "Well, you still have some pride, huh, Jack?," Surtr asking the former champion, "Well, the winner of this tournament, let's say... will have the world at his or her feet." Ash and Pikachu look at each other shocked at the title awarded to the winner. Leo, across from Ash and in Yusei's group, is undoubtably excited, but Luna reminds him about the true goals that they are here. As Surtr steps away from Jack, he continues on with how the event works. Surtr will be at the top of the tall island tower known as Yggdrasil. Unfortunately, the entrance is locked, and only those who win duels within a short time frame, will be allowed to enter the first floor. When time runs out, the scores will be listed on each duelist's PDA. If they are lucky enough, they will enter the tower and be that much closer to the title. As the rest of the Duelists depart, so does Surtr.

After Surtr disappears into the standing skyscraper's entrance, both Ash and Yusei's group reunite. "Hey, Ash, Pikachu!," Leo calling out to the Trainer and his best buddy, "You doing ok?" Ash and Pikachu shake their heads in agreement. "Akiza?," Pikachu calling out to the Signer, "You feeling alright? You seem worried?" Akiza blushes at the concern from Ash's electric partner. "I'm feeling better, I just needed to be with everyone." Yusei then directs everyone to a resting spot for everyone that's with friends. Some people that are familiar with Yusei, including Jack, are noticing the newest duelist, being Ash. The two look at each other, possibly with the same idea, heads to the tent. "Yusei?," Ash calling out to the leader of the Signers, "We've got some company..." Everyone looks towards the entrance of the tent, and they do see Jack Atlas, but he's looking away. But he's not the only one that Ash sees, as there's another young adult coming towards the tent. That said other person, has dark-grey eyes and brushy-spiked orange hair with a viridian headband embroidered with two rings at the right side. For his outfit, it consists of blue jeans, a yellow t-shirt, and a sleeveless brown cargo vest. He also wears a pair of earrings in the shape of washers. "Hey, Yusei," the orange haired boy announcing to the group, not yet noticing Ash. "It's good to see you too, Crow," Yusei greeting the new person for Ash. "Hey, Crow?," Akiza says, calling out to the duelist, "Where did Atlas go off to? Is he still offended?" Crow shook his head, "Yeah, he not only went off, he did not like those comments...," the young adult saying to the oldest girl. "I get that this is a research goal and a tournament, but I doubt that it's going to get any more..." Crow says in concern, as he stops himself when he turns to face Ash. "Hey, Yusei, who's this new guy? Is he a newbie around the city?" Yusei nods, as Leo follows up, "He's more like a newbie from another world, Crow." As Crow looks in disbelief, Ash stands up to greet him, "It's nice to meet you Crow, the name's Ash Ketchum, I come from the Pokémon World." Crow, as he shakes Ash's hand, notices Ash's backpack moving a little, before seeing Pikachu's head popping out. "Wha??," Crow exclaims at the sight of the new creature, "Who's this little fella?" Pikachu is at first shocked, as he proceeds to hide behind Ash for cover. "Hey, no need to worry Pikachu," Ash trying to comfort his electric pal, "Based on that greeting between Yusei and him, I doubt Crow will harm you." Pikachu looks at Crow, still a little shy. Ash turns towards Crow while checking Pikachu's behavior, "This is my good buddy, Pikachu. He's a still little shy around here." Crow smiles and reaches out for Pikachu, as if he wants to shake his hand, "You're a very cute little dude, you know that?" Pikachu does reach out, still a little shy. Crow grabs the little mouse's hand and they shake together. "See, I'm not so bad, Pikachu," Crow speaking in a soft tone, trying not to startle Ash's best friend. After a little while, Ash's best buddy smiles and so does Crow. "Wow, now I want to see what you are like in a duel, Ash and Pikachu!"

As both trainer and Pokémon smile, there is a commotion outside of the tents. Just at that moment, Pikachu's ears perk up in alert mode. "What's up, little dude?", Crow asking Pikachu, who responds with worry. "It sounds like fighting, shall we see what's going on?" Everyone nods in agreement as they rush over to the commotion. Once they got there, there is a crowd witnessing a confrontation between an officer figure and another man. As Ash sees the officer going for a cross, he calls out for Pikachu, but also Yusei's group. "You want to see what my best buddy can do? Well Pikachu, use Thunderbolt and stop the fight!" As the cross was just about to land on the downed man, Pikachu's attack strikes the aggressor's hand and shocks him. "What the heck? Chief Armstrong?", Yusei saying in shock as the rest of the group tends to the other man's wounds. "Yusei Fudo? Was that you that attacked me?!," the surprised officer yelling at the lead signer. As Yusei shakes his head no, Ash approaches Armstrong, and along with Pikachu on his shoulders, they both have dead serious looks. "Who in Domino City's name are you two?", Armstrong says as he stands up, brushing off the dust and soot. "I'm Ash Ketchum, this is my buddy, Pikachu, and you've got some nerve attacking someone like that," Ash introducing himself to Armstrong, as well as the crowd. "Well, FYI, Mr. Ash," Armstrong says mockingly towards the two, "That guy, Rathie? He's not only worthless, he's got nothing but junk cards. I'm just doing him a favor and taking away his deck." Pikachu jumps down and his cheeks are sparking, "You called his cards nothing but Junk?! Well, on behalf of him and us, what if we test that opinion here and now?!" Ash nods as he looks at the cards that Rathie dropped, "I'll use them to enhance the power of my deck, and together, we will duel you!" Armstrong laughs but smiles at the challenge, "Fine, but if I win, you must give the rest of his and your cards to me!" Yusei's group all have worried, but at the same time, confident looks at the presented challenge. "You're on, Armstrong," Ash says to him, "However, Armstrong. If I win this duel, you must apologize to Rathie, and promise to make up for your mistakes!" Armstrong accepted but says that he won't let the loss come. A ref then comes down to the makeshift dueling field, just as Pikachu joins Crow on his shoulder. "Alright, you two, do you know the official rules?," the ref calling out to both Duelists, who nod in approval. The two then shuffle their decks, and Ash calls out heads for the coin toss. "It's tails, Armstrong has the decision," the ref calling out, but stops himself when the chief points his thumb at himself, signaling that he wants to go first. As both Duelists draw their cards, it's clear of what time it was for both, as it was announced by the crowd and the two players.

"IT'S TIME TO DUEL!"
