Chapter 08: Rocked by a hurricane.
Over the next few couple of days the Titans doubled down on patrolling Jump city as Starfire finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl named M'ari Night-star Grayson as Cyborg was finally up and about the tower making quick alterations to his cybernetic body parts as he stayed in contact with the other active Titans, and at the moment he was currently in contact with Changeling.
" hey Greengo?, how's the search going?, you're being awfully quiet…."
Changeling having reported no more than 5 minutes ago responded as follows.
" still nothing Cy….. believe me if I find some shit I'll let you know…. hell I'll even bring it back and let you smell it."
At this Cyborg couldn't help but grimace and laugh uncomfortably at the same time.
" no thanks my man… I'm good, just keep looking and call me back."
With that Changeling ended his transmission as Cyborg finished making his daily alterations before he started scanning for any possible sightings of Ron Evers as Night-wing, looking ragged and restless came knocking on his door.
" you look like shit."
At that Night-wing weakly responded.
" thanks….. could you do me a favor?"
At this Cyborg nodded in understanding.
" sure I'll watch after little M'ari as you go and get some rest….. and a shower too."
At that Night-wing thanked his friend as he asked.
" any new leads from the rest?"
At this Cyborg replied the following.
" you'll be the first one to know."
With that Cyborg went to watch after the newborn as Night-wing went to his room for a quick shower and a rest as Changeling returned to the tower.
" tell me you have something."
At this Changeling answered Night-wing.
" I have…. blisters, now if you'll excuse me I need some aloe Vera for my feet and some new pair of boots."
With that Night-wing didn't respond as he felt a little disturbed as Changeling passed by him only to walk back on out a few minutes later flying off into the streets in the form of a hawk. As Changeling glided above the city he thought to himself.
' okay… if I looked like the tin man from The Wizard of Oz where would I likely go…..?'
At that the answer came to him a few moments later as he dove down looking around areas where there were body shops to go around as he spotted a familiar person wondering around, gliding down he morphed back into his usual self asking.
" hey….. what's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?"
At that the girl, revealing herself to be Raven rolled her eyes as she answered with a deadpan manner.
" shopping"
At that Changeling rolled with the punches.
" at times like this… really?"
At that Changeling received a gentle jab from Raven as he admitted defeat as they both continued the search for any signs of Brother Blood's acolytes or Cyborg's former friend as they checked every auto shop in the area until they stumbled on to something, Gizmo holding up a garage owner at gunpoint as the pint sized loud mouth spotted the two.
" Jesus fucking Christ… not you two…."
At this Changeling pointed out.
" hey it's not like we expected to run into you either…. now walk away or we will kick your ass into next week."
At this Gizmo got really ticked off.
" go fuck yourself you second rate Mowgly I'm here on principal."
At that Changeling asked for clarification as Raven took the time to evacuate the hostages while Gizmo diverted the attention to the green hero training his shoulder mounted machineguns at the former's direction.
" well if you must know you nosy little shit for brains. This asshole right over there…."
As he pointed the finger over to his hostage he noticed that said hostage disappeared as Changeling morphed into a gorilla as he came dangerously close to the confused, now terrified, Gizmo as he comically surrendered before the hero could go to town on his ass to which Changeling reverted back into human form.
" you know what we can skip the ass kicking, just tell me this… where can I find Ron Evers?"
At this Gizmo quirked an eyebrow asking.
" do you really think I know who the fuck you're talking about?"
At this Changeling quirked a brow right back him as he grinned.
" the asshole who choked you like a little bitch."
At this Gizmo rubbed his throat unconsciously as he answered.
" oh him…. he came by to see me a couple days ago looking for parts to upgrade…"
At that Changeling urged.
" and?….."
At this Gizmo's response was.
" he didn't have enough money so I told him I don't run charities, so I told him to hit the road…."
At this Changeling gave Gizmo a sharp look as Gizmo quickly added.
" he headed north…. that's all I know I swear….."
With that Raven returned as Changeling knocked him unconscious for the police to pick up as he contacted Cyborg.
" hey man….have I got news for you…."
With that Cyborg asked.
" and…..?, what is it…?"
At that Changeling had a shit eating grin on his face as he gave the following answer.
" ran into Gizmo right now….. said your buddy was seen hanging around north downtown, wanna join the party?"
At this Cyborg replied as follows.
" give me a few minutes and I'm there"
At the conversation ended Cyborg kept on watching little M'ari until Starfire entered the living room to take over for him as Cyborg gave her his thanks as he rushed to the garage as Night-wing/Richard entered the room wearing nothing but a bathrobe.
" I'm guessing we've finally got something solid?"
At that Starfire stifled a laugh as she kept a grin on her face as Night-wing caught on, giving a knowing smile.
" case wise I meant."
At that Starfire replied as she picked little M'ari up.
" of course…."
At that Night-wing genuinely laughed as he thought to himself.
' let's hope it doesn't get worse until M'ari's old enough to understand us both.'
A few minutes later Cyborg caught up with Changeling and Raven in the T car as Changeling amusingly pointed out.
" wow you've managed to keep all four hubcaps on the tires this time….nice."
At this Cyborg gave a dry laugh responding.
"remind me to kick your ass when it's over Greengo…"
At that Changeling made a silent motion that said 'will do' as him and the rest made their way north following Gizmo's provided lead until they reached the garage that Ron Evers was most likely to hide at. As Cyborg scanned the place he noticed some power tools that have been recently used as he opted to ask.
"Raven?…"
At this Raven answered.
" way ahead of you….."
As she closed her eyes to scan the room for signs of life she caught a few glimpses of emotions as she opened her eyes a few moments later.
" I count at least four here but nothing too definitive….. sorry"
At that Cyborg waved it off as he said.
" I don't care if there are 40 in here, we will deliver Ron Evers to justice."
At that Ron scoffed from the shadows as he came out with a slicker new armor and a more devastating new weapon in hand, or more accurately for a hand, as he wasted no time by attacking the three with a projectile that included his usual arsenal plus an addition similar to Cyborg's white noise cannon, only more destructive.
" ouch….. what are you trying to do to my ears you asshole…."
At that Ron paid no attention to Changeling as he kept trying to hit Cyborg causing several fires to erupt as well as sealing the Titans inside by destroying the entrance they came from. At this Raven pointed out while healing Changeling's ears as they began bleeding.
" hold still just a little longer….."
At this Changeling smiled as he said.
" forget about me, rescue the ones who can't get out on their own…. I'm fine…"
At this Raven reluctantly agreed she made herself scarce as she teleported away saving a few mechanics Evers took hostage, tending to some of their wounds, emotional or otherwise until first responders arrived on scene as she teleported back for her teammates as Cyborg still clashed with Ron while Changeling tried his best to provide back up, however the villain attacked them without mercy.
" you do know what aim is right?"
At this point Cyborg scolded Changeling.
" really?!, why don't you paint targets on our backs while you're at it!"
At this point Changeling replied as follows.
" well better us than the ceiling, at this rate he'll bury us alive…."
At this particular moment Evers used the fact that the Titans were distracted as he punched Changeling square at his jaw sending him flying into the debris as he exclaimed.
" finally… the motherfucker shuts up."
At this Cyborg tackled Ron into the ground trying to punch his face as Evers evaded the blows for as long as possible before trying to punch back, only this time he missed or so it would seem as his punch reverted into a cannon sending a direct hit at the ceiling causing the building to start and collapse as he addressed Cyborg.
" well you got two options Vic, one, drag my ass to prison and risk losing a few lives or let me go and be the hero you think you are, so choose….."
At this Cyborg's response was.
" I know who I am…."
With that he let Evers go as Raven teleported back just in time as she teleported them both before the entire building collapsed as Changeling in a weakened state asked.
" did we all got out of there alive?"
At this Raven gave a nod saying.
" yes…. but Evers escaped."
At that Cyborg gave a small sigh as he stated.
" the best thing about this asshole is that he always gives you a second chance, now let's get back to the tower before we start bleeding in the car…"
To that everyone agreed as Raven teleported them back to Titans tower as Raven helped Changeling to his room for some much needed healing, and yes, medical one.
Titans tower, three days later.
As the team continued their pursuit after Evers Changeling kept in bed, much to his comical protests, as Cyborg kept a close eye on every camera in the city trying to find his former buddy from ops room as Night-wing entered.
" I'm here to relieve you of monitor duty."
At this Cyborg replied nonchalantly.
" sorry but I don't remember requesting that."
At this Night-wing replied with.
" and I didn't ask, now do us a favor and give your eyes a bit of rest."
At this Cyborg gave a knowing smirk as he left the room only for the Titans alarm to blare off a few seconds later.
Meanwhile in an undisclosed warehouse in Jump City.
Ron Evers was currently raiding an illegal shipment of arms which included machine guns, grenades and RPGs as Evers stock piled as on much as he could carry before he spotted a green pterodactyl flying trough the air before landing and morphing into the green Titan.
" sir before you leave the store I'll need to take a look at your receipts"
At that Evers just smirked before he started firing the machine gun at Changeling before he comically responded with.
" I'll settle for proof of insurance…."
At this Changeling kept dodging until the T car arrived at the scene as Cyborg came to a stop as he got out ready to fight.
" hey asshole you're having a party and you didn't invite me?"
At this Ron instead of answering Cyborg's half joking remark by shooting up his car as Cyborg rightfully called him out.
" you can mess with me as much as you want….. mess with my car and all bets are off…."
With that Cyborg charged at Evers as Raven made her way towards Changeling as Starfire, Night-wing and Arsenal closed off any possible means of escape.
" what's the big idea of facing a killer half man- half machine armed to the teeth with guns?"
At that Changeling innocently answered.
" no big idea… just making sure to stall for time until our big guns arrive"
At this Raven gave a small sigh as she deadpanned.
" you do that again and I'll shoot you myself."
At that Changeling smirked as he morphed into a stegosaurus as he charged at Evers swiping it's tail at him landing a solid hit, however Ron blocked most of the hit with his arm sliding a few feet back instead of flying out like a baseball making a homerun as the villain exclaimed.
" ouch…. that actually hurt… you stupid motherfucker…"
At this Cyborg smirked as he said while charging straight at him.
" you ain't seen nothing yet."
At this Ron replied with as he secretly pressed a button where his chest was.
" oh yeah…. so will you…."
With that a timer chimed before a blinding white light came at the Titans incapacitating them as Evers made his escape amidst the confusion as a few moments later Cyborg regained his eye sight as he tried to chase after Ron who thought to himself.
' asshole doesn't know when to quit….."
With that both made it out of the warehouse district and made it into the city with Ron managing to steal a sedan as Cyborg called in the T car as Night-wing got on comm.
" don't forget to update us where he stops."
At this Cyborg smirked.
" as if you had to remind me."
At this Night-wing smirked back.
" just looking out for you."
As Cyborg continued to chase Ron Evers through the streets of Jump Evers made every possible attempt to stop him dead in his tracks or mislead him all together as he had no qualms using random passerby's to achieve his ends and after a lengthy chase Ron still managed to give Cyborg the slip which pissed him off. As Ron moved further away from Cyborg's location he muttered to himself.
" good riddance…."
Seeing what little he had though pissed off Ron just the same before disappearing amongst the crowd as he eventually found an abandoned building to squat in as he set out what he 'borrowed' before him, cracking his knuckles as he got to work.
Back in Titans tower, ops room with Cyborg and Night-wing.
Both Titans returned back to the tower trying to figure out where Evers has gone to as Starfire and Raven patrolled the skies while Changeling volunteered to watch after little M'ari as the search for the elusive bastard needed to be done quickly. As Night-wing scrubbed through the security footage around the city without much luck he muttered to himself.
" how hard is it to find a….."
Before he could finish Cyborg stepped in.
" don't go there…."
At this Night-wing looked at him confused as he said.
" I meant to say an asshole, come on you know me better than that"
At this cyborg nodded meekly.
" I know…..I just been on edge lately"
At this Night-wing smirked as he replied.
" hey you're preaching to the choir"
At this both let out a small laugh as they continued searching for Evers tirelessly, in the meantime a few days go by as Evers, within the abandoned building was making a few adjustments to what now was revealed as a few upgrades he made to his cybernetic body that included retractable machine guns from his arms and shoulder mounted rocket launchers.
" alright let's give these babies a whirl"
With that Evers launched a number of small missiles at the building's supports as he walked away as the building started to collapse before disappearing among the panicked crowds as the Titans saw the commotion happening from within ops room as they deployed to save the trapped and injured minus Night-wing who stayed behind to protect his daughter. As the Titans rushed to save the civilians in the collapsing building Evers on the other hand was making his way nonchalantly towards Titans tower.
" are you sure we all should've answered this crisis?"
At this the Titans looked at Changeling like he had three heads as he explained himself.
" think about it?, that asshole Ron stole military grade weapons a few days ago and now a building collapses for no reason, coincidence much?"
At this Cyborg's eyes widened as a nasty thought crept up to his head as he exclaimed.
" shit…. I hate it when you're right Greengo"
With that Changeling stared blankly as Cyborg turned back to the T car as he drove as fast as he could as the green hero finally found his voice.
" what about the building Cy…..?"
As Cyborg drove faster and faster towards home he tried contacting Night-wing but it kept going to voice mail as he muttered in irritation.
" pick up the phone…. pick it up already…"
At that moment though Night-wing had the same thought as he grabbed little M'ari heading with her down to the garage as he took one of his old cars from his days as a freelance UC as he drove out from an exit facing away from the tower as Evers reached just in range of the tower as he started spraying the tower's windows with his machineguns before launching a few missiles towards the base of the tower and its supports as the tower collapsed to the ground as the debris just narrowly missed Night-wing's car, stepping outside he muttered to himself.
" okay….. now that bastard's gone too far…."
With that Night-wing drove to meet with the rest of the Titans as he contacted Cyborg.
" sorry I missed your calls…. but I had the same hunch, the…."
Realizing M'ari sat next to him in a makeshift baby seat he paused for a second before continuing.
" our good 'friend' leveled our home to the ground"
At that Cyborg got furious as he kept his mouth shut troughout the entire conversation as he floored the gas pedal giving chase to Ron as the Titans in the meanwhile finished rescuing the injured as they stared in shock at what happened to the tower via live footage as Changeling broke the silence.
" Raven… please don't tell me that your….."
At that Raven finished for him.
" father's essence was in the tower?…. thankfully no, it's with my mother on Azarath for the moment… speaking of family…"
At this point they saw Starfire's shocked expression infusing with anger and rage as they tried to calm her down.
" listen…. I'm sure they're fine, I mean Night-wing's no slouch about protecting his family right Raven?"
At this Raven agreed as an old car pulled along side them as Night-wing came out with M'ari in tow as Starfire, out of worry, rushed the both hugging them closely.
" Star….. I really hate ruining this moment but we have to go after Cyborg…. he's pissed as all hell…"
With that everyone got into the car as Changeling held M'ari tightly before Night-wing flooring it giving chase after Cyborg, speaking of which, the hero made it to the scene of the attack only to discover Evers has already left but not before giving him a small clue to where he was, the clue in question?, a small star carved into the ground leaving Cyborg to think.
' you want to end it there?…. fine with me…'
At this moment Cyborg's communicator went off as he answered it.
" listen…. I need to do this alone, so don't try and stop me."
At this point Night-wing countered.
" who said I wanted to stop you?, I'm offering back up so please wait just a bit? I'm dropping M'ari at a safehouse."
At this Cyborg nodded as Night-wing ended the call as he made another, this time to Alfred Pennyworth.
" master Richard…. I assume you're searching for master Bruce?"
At this Night-wing relaxed his posture as he replied.
" actually I called for you specifically"
With that Night-wing summarized everything that happened to Alfred as by the end of it the elderly eniglishman said.
" not to worry master Richard everything will be set up when you'd arrive"
True to his word when the Titans arrived at the safehouse everything's already been set up with the Titans waiting for someone to watch over M'ari and as so would have it an hour passed until Alfred walked through the safehouse doors.
" forgive me for being late, unusually heavy traffic we're having."
At that Night-wing solemnly nodded.
"well these are unusual times were facing, so thank you for arriving on such short notice."
At that Alfred gave a curt nod as the Titans left the safehouse after Night-wing and Starfire said goodbye to their daughter for the umpteenth time as Changeling murmured.
"guys…. we're on the clock here….."
At that raven stopped him by gently squeezing his hand as he responded.
" I know I know…."
At that raven gave a small smile before she deadpanned.
" good."
With that said and done the Titans got on their way while Cyborg drove the T car tothe location hinted by Ron Evers as his mind was laser focused of ending it once and for all being unaware that he picked up a tail by two of Brother Blood's acolytes driving a plain looking car as one of them made a call to their lord and master.
' we have him in our sights.'
From within a steal factory in an undisclosed location Blood acknowledged the news as he oversaw personally the creation of his latest cybernetic troops, only this time conducting it on live volunteers as screams of pain and joy filled his ears paying no attention to Mother Mayhem as she stormed the facility dropping the usual calm and cold demeanor.
" Sebastian…. I must protest, using those who failed you in the past for creating your army, but creating it from the rest of your congregation?, where's the….."
Before she could complete the question Blood backhanded her across the face as he answered coldly.
"surely you must be blind not to see that the Titans would not dare to attack the living little less destroy them in combat…"
At this moment he lowered himself to meet Mayhem's gaze as he whispered.
" and if you step out of line again…. I'll transform you just as I'm doing right now."
With that in mind he released some of the acolytes who've been converted as he ordered them.
" find and kill the Titans except for Cyborg and Mr. Evers…. that honor belongs only to me."
With that the acolytes gave a small bow as they departed leading Mayhem to utter.
"you're truly depraved."
At that Blood only chuckled.
" amusing but I prefer ambitious"
A little while later, at the now abandoned S.T.A.R labs facility, just a little outside Jump City.
As Ron Evers got out of the car he 'borrowed' since he destroyed Titans tower the young man walked aimlessly as he waited for his old pal to arrive while recollecting some of the events that happened in this place, more specifically the moment when Cyborg allowed him to fall to what felt like his certain death as he heard a small noise coming in from behind him.
" you sure took your sweet ass time…"
However as soon as he turned to face Cyborg he came face to face with a squad of cybernetic acolytes.
' come with us master Bloods expects you…'
At this Evers laughed as he said.
" Blood can go fuck himself, I work for no one but myself."
The acolytes didn't take kindly to Ever's remarks as they began to attack and swarm him trying taking him by force but he was having none of that as he tried to shoot them and destroy them. As the fight dragged on Ron Evers began to feel fatigued for no matter how many of those damned sheep he killed more kept on coming, however right when those bastards were about to deal him some damage he soon saw the sight of Cyborg tackling some of them to the ground as he exclaimed.
" what took you asshole?"
At this Cyborg answered coldly.
" shut up I'm not here to save you, I'm here to arrest you"
At that Ron scoffed.
" sure you do bacon…"
With that both of them began fighting off the army of cyber soldiers as the Titans soon caught up as well as Changeling tactlessly pointed out.
" who invited them to this private party?, and since when are we friends with this prick?"
At this Night-wing answered.
" first I'll give you three guesses, second, it doesn't matter, we're heroes first."
As both Starfire and Night-wing were about to declare an attack Raven stopped them.
" wait…. something feels off…."
At this Raven did a mental scan before declaring in horror.
" it's not just robots in human skins…. those are living and breathing cyborgs…"
At that all but Raven gasped before Night-wing refocused.
" new plan, rescue Cyborg and Evers with minimum collateral damage and fuss"
As the Titans swooped into battle Changeling morphed into a ram as he ran through the cyborgs knocking them down as Starfire used her star bolts to try and create a crater between the two ambushed as Night-wing in the meantime held the rest off for as long as possible with the help of Raven.
" hey Cy….. asshole, let's make like a banana and split before those guys try and turn us into mince meat."
At this Evers spat.
" you do you, I'm staying right here to kill these assholes and then I'm coming for your trash can bitch of a buddy."
Not impressed Changeling asked.
" have you've taken a good look in the mirror lately?"
At this Evers wanted to knock Changeling around like a rag doll before some acolytes have managed to slip through the barrier as the ran straight for them as Ron faced them head on as he mowed them down with the machineguns and rockets.
" some friend you got there…"
At this Cyborg commented.
" not now Greengo."
With that Cyborg joined the fray as he managed to convince Evers to lay off the murderous tendencies just for a bit stating that this poor bastards probably had no say in the matter of being turned into robots.
" Vic….. if those things kill me, I'll fuck you up so bad you'd wish you were dead….."
At that Cyborg quipped.
" so what else is new?"
At this the stalemate continued for a while longer as Blood appeared out of sight as he watched the scermish continues as the building slowly started to collapse as many of the acolytes lost consciousness as Blood sighed in disappointment thinking.
' shame….. and they showed such promise…'
With that in mind he fished out a control remote as he pressed on a sequence before initiating it with one last push, that sequence was self destruct. As the acolytes stopped their fight abruptly they began to wither in pain as their mechanical bodies began to glow as Changeling exclaimed.
" duck and cover quick."
At this Evers asked like a moron.
" oh yeah and why should I listen to an idiot like you?"
At this Changeling had enough.
" think for a sec stupid, does it look like something good's about to happen?"
However at this precise moment a series of explosions happened as the abandoned building collapsed on all the parties involved not blowing up seemingly killing them all, however Raven managed to protect them all discretely as Blood took his leave assuming they really did die in the torrent of explosions as he returned back to base as Mayhem simply stated.
" on to business as usual it seems"
At that Blood said nonchalantly.
"exactly"
At this point Raven maintained the shield for a little bit more before collapsing, noticing that they were trapped underneath what was the lab facility as Evers exclaimed/ asked.
"truce for now?"
At that Cyborg answered.
" I should knock you out but as long as we're stuck here… sure."
At that Ron Evers reverted his arm into his cannon as he aimed it skywards when Raven stopped him using her powers.
" do that and you'll doom us all."
At this Evers replied.
" good I'd rather die than be stuck for another goddamn second with you fools."
At this a fight was about to break out until Changeling had a horrifying thought.
" say Night-wing….. was there anyone else in the tower before… you know?"
At that Night-wing answered briskly.
" thankfully no…. now instead of fighting with each other we need to find a way up so I can send the rest a distress signal."
With that everyone agreed to the sentiment, even Evers, as the group searched their way undreground for a while.
Outside the ruins of Titans tower.
Hawk and Dove arrived at the scene on a routine visit as both stared at it stumped as to how something like this could happen as Kid Flash ran his way for a rendezvous as well as he broke the silence.
" did I miss something?"
At that Hawk answered plainly.
" your guess is as good as mine."
With that said and done said heroes began to rummage through the rubble looking for anything that could be salvaged as Hawk's communicator went off. Seeing the caller ID Hawk answered.
" go for Hawk I'm all ears."
With that the caller Night-wing did just that.
" as you can guess the tower fell down… worst still we're stuck with the asshole responsible…. and Blood is likely gearing up for another attack on the city."
At this Hawk nodded as he asked.
" okay so what's the bad news?"
At that Night-wing bluntly stated.
" he's using his followers to create his cybernetic army….."
At this point the communication got cut off still Hawk came to the next conclusion.
" which means we can't pummel them into tiny pieces….."
Dove who overheard the conversation stated.
" you know what Night-wing would probably ask you to do right?"
At this Hawk replied as such.
" I do."
At this Dove asked him what he intends to do knowing that as Hawk let out a small sigh exclaiming.
" the only thing I can promise is that I'll use my discretion."
At this Dove reacted as such.
" thank you…"
With that Hawk rallied the three as he said.
" hey sport think you can do a quick salvage before we set up shop in a temp base of operations?"
At this Kid Flash smirked as he answered.
" watch me."
With that Kid Flash started running as he became a blur of reds and yellows as he recovered as much tech as he could before loading it into Hawk's car as the duo in question got back into the car.
" so where are we going anyway?"
At that Hawk answered in an easy going manner.
"we got a condo in the city, try and keep up."
With that the rest of them drove off for the new 'base' of operations as mid drive Kid Flash pointed out while running alongside Hawk's car.
" say how come we're not going after Night-wing and the rest of the team?"
At this Hawk's answer was.
" you think Brother Blood won't declare an attack if the Titans were missing?
At this Kid flash replied.
" makes sense."
At Hawk's and Dove's apartment, a few moments later.
As the team entered the small apartment, almost as small as a studio Kid Flash made a quick run around as he set up what could be salvaged from the equipment as Dove pointed out.
" come on in…. don't mind about your shoes or anything….."
At that hawk smirked at the fact that his girlfriend and crime fighting partner has made his sarcastic remark for him as Kid flash pointed out.
" can we postpone this discussion for later?"
At this both heroes of Chaos and Order asked.
" don't tell us…"
Kid Flash only said.
" okay I won't but I think we better head outside."
With that both of them did just that only to see from the streets that Blood's army began to invade attacking random innocent civilians as Hawk simply stated.
" we've been standing with our heads up our asses for far enough…. Titans go!"
At that Kid Flash smirked.
" hold on to your stomach… we're going for one hell of a ride…."
With that said and done Kid Flash carried off Dove first before coming back for Hawk.
" I'm a fast runner on my own accord, now put your fast legs to good use."
At that Kid Flash gave a silent salute saying ' aye aye chief' as he began running again saving civilians from being attacked as he knocked out as many acolytes as he could as Hawk himself rushed into battle, not as fast as Kid Flash, but still in record time as he engaged the acolytes in battle all the while thinking.
' I know you guys are no slouches but still, step on it'
Back outside the ruins of S.T.A.R labs.
As the group made it outside the underground facility they took a moment to breath some fresh air as Changeling wasted no time pointing out.
" okay we're all top side… what should we do about our 'special' friend?"
At that Evers answered for them.
" I'm going after Brother Blood and then Vic's next, and you can't stop me."
At this Cyborg pointed out.
" like hell you are…."
Before the conversation could escalate any further Raven's empathic senses has picked up on the distrees happening in the city as she pointed out.
" we don't have a choice Brother Blood has already made his move."
At this Cyborg sighed in frustration as Raven opened a portal back into Jump city as Evers made the following statement.
" you do what you have to, I ain't got any other place to be at anyway."
At that Cyborg's only reply before stepping into the portal was.
" okay but if you try killing Blood your ass is grass"
With that the Titans disappeared into the portal not imagining that the fight that they're walking into would be so far the fight for their very own lives.
