We sit waiting in the temple. I leave her to grab us something to snack. I still can't get over how she figured out Padme and I was a couple just by a conversation. Do the others know? Well, I will just keep acting like it is a secret. It is kind of nice being able to say it to someone though. She gets it, unlike the others who were brainwashed from a super young age. I sometimes question the Jedi and I know it is wrong but I can't help it. They think they know everything but they are as clueless as I am. I come back and I see Ahsoka napping on the bench. Her head is leaned back and her hands lay in her lap. I sit next to her. She starts mumbling to herself. I try to focus on other things. I eat and stare at my feet.
"Numa."
She jumps up and falls off the bench.
"Ow. Heh, guess I should learn to stay on a bench if I will become a Jedi."
"Us Jedi do learn to sit a lot."
A look of concern replaces the smile that she had as she sits back down. Numa, I wonder if that is the person she lost.
"Jedi Skywalker you may enter, alone."
"Thank you."
I get up and head into the council chambers. I enter and see a defeated look on Master Windu's face. She is allowed in, yes.
"Jedi Skywalker, after a long conversation between me and the other council members, we came to the agreement that Ahsoka Tano may join the Jedi Order. There are some conditions she is required to spend at least a year at the temple then we may consider having her join you on missions. More rules or requirements may come up later."
"Thank you."
I wink at Obi-Wan and walk out. I see Ahsoka and put on the saddest face possible.
"I'm sorry Ahsoka… you are now a part of the Jedi order."
"Seriously!"
"Yes, and you are now my new padawan. You have to stay at the temple for a year but after that, it is to be decided."
"Oh my, this is crazy. I can't believe this."
Tears start swelling in her eyes. She runs at me and hugs me.
"Thank you so much, nothing good ever happens for me."
"No problem Ahsoka."
The council members walk out of the doors. Ahsoka jumps back and starts saying thank you to every single master. Once they are all passed she jumps up and starts dancing.
"I am a freaking Jedi."
"Yet not Ahsoka, But soon shall be."
"Thank you so much, Master Yoda, you and the other Jedi Masters will not regret this decision."
"Celebrate you should, good things, hard to come by."
"I will."
She turns to me with a huge smile on her face.
"Is there someplace with a good view of the stars."
"You can't see the stars on Coruscant because of all the light pollution. But you can see moving ships and they kinda look like stars."
"Perfect."
She starts walking at a facial pace towards a door.
"Wait, how do we get there?"
"Follow me."
We walk down the temple halls, her eyes examine every room. We finally reach the gardens.
"Wow, this is great."
She lays down on the grace and stares at the sky.
"Join me."
"No, that is not my kinda thing."
"Are you too cool to look at spaceships?"
"As a matter of fact, yes."
"GET DOWN HERE!"
"Only if you stay quiet, people are trying to meditate."
"Sorry."
"Get down here."
"Fine."
She pulls me down. The grass hits me in the face.
"See, isn't it pretty. Skyguy."
"Don't get snippy at me. But yes."
It is funny how the simplest things can be so calming. During this war, you never get peace or calm and look at the sky. Even though I know most of those ships are off to fight, it is nice to look up and chill for a second.
"What are you two doing?"
"We are looking at the sky."
"Anakin, you agreed to this?"
"Yes Obi-Wan, do you want to join us, it is quite nice actually."
"No, sorry I have to go deal with a Grievous issue. War never pauses."
"Do you need me to join you?"
"No, I have a feeling your new Padawan will need you more than I do. See you later Ahsoka, Bye Anakin."
"See you later Master Wan."
Ahsoka sits up and waves.
"You do know that when you call someone Master, it is their last name."
"I did call him by his last name, Wan, right."
"Yes."
I giggle and she lays back down.
"I said it right, right, he is Master Wan."
"Yep, Master Wan."
"Stop laughing at me."
"Hahaha. Ow. You hit hard."
"Yeah, you know why, because I am a Jedi."
