It was Friday, it was the day of Senator Hogan's press conference, all the police in the city had been ordered to attend the conference to set up checkpoints, searches. But Intelligence was focused on the murder of Abdel, Jay had said that it could be related to the terrorist group ARISS. But the FBI had already ruled out that possibility.
Everyone was still investigating the case, while the press conference was playing in the background, they were showing it on television. Voight was in his office talking to the feds. To thank they for helping them rule out a possibility.
"Sergeant, its starting, come see it." - Adam spoke to Voight, while he was focused on television.
"And why is this conference so important?" - Kevin asked everyone.
"It's to announce a political treaty with Canada or something like that." - Kim replied.
The conference was about to end, everyone was watching TV, but while Jay was watching TV, he had a feeling that something was going to happen. He was very sure that something could happen at any time.
"Guys, something is not right." - Jay got up from his desk and turned to look at his friends.
"Relax, Halstead, nothing is going to happen, the conference is going to end. You should stop being worried. " - Voight answered Jay as he touched his shoulder.
The conference was about to end, when a loud explosion was heard, it had been an explosion, but it had not happened at the conference site. The explosion had taken place on the other side of the city. An abandoned warehouse had exploded. Everyone in Intelligence went to the place, hoping to find answers of what had happened.
Upon arriving at the scene, the bomb squad had scanned the place and found traces of a homemade bomb. They had finished looking for a second bomb, so the guys in Intelligence could see the place.
"You can come in now, Sergeant. Everything is clear. " - Commander Powel told Voight.
"What caused it? Was it a bomb? " - Jay asked the commander.
"Apparently it was a homemade bomb, I had never seen a bomb of that type that caused this level of damage." - Powel responded astonished by what had happened.
"Sergeant, this could have been the work of ARISS, we have ..." - Jay approached Voight to understand that it had been an attack from them.
"Halstead, Agent Lee ruled out the possibility that it was them. Just leave it. IT WAS NOT THEM. " - Voight raised his voice that was addressed to the detective.
Everyone was searching the wreckage, hoping to find some clue or something that might help to figure out how the bomb was made. No one had found anything, until Hailey saw something that was among all the wreckage.
"Guys I found something." - Hailey got up taking a sheet of paper, which was intact.
"A white sheet?" - Adam asked him.
"Let's see let me see it." - Jay said to Hailey, as she handed him the sheet.
Jay took the sheet, which was intact, no one knew how a white sheet could withstand an explosion.
"It has something written on it." - Kim said to Jay while she showed him.
"I'm getting closer to you, J.R" - Kim read the page.
Jay's face changed completely. Again J.R. No one knew who he was or what he wanted. The only one who seemed to know anything was Jay, but he hadn't said a word.
"Uh… this is not a coincidence that J.R. has been named in a homicide and an explosion. We must find out who he is and quickly, we can't wait for something else like this. " - Voight told the whole unit about him.
Again J.R. he was being mentioned, Jay was out of his mind, again he was acting different. Nobody knew why. But Jay knew something he wasn't saying. And everyone was wondering who is J.R. and what is the reason why he is doing this and who was he getting closer.
