(BEASTBOY'S PERSPECTIVE)

"Oh, gosh, I'm tired as heck." I wiped last night's slumber out of my eyes and sat up.

I tossed cleaned myself up and tossed on my clothes.

"Hey, B. You look spent, you alright?" Cyborg greeted me in the Common Room.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted. I gotta head out in a few."

"Where to?"

Cyborg was making waffles, eggs, and bacon.

My stomach churned at the scent of meat.

"Out with Rae." I let out a loud yawn.

"Ouuuu, about time."

"Whatchya mean 'about time'?"

"You're going on a date with her aren't you?"

"No."

"But you said you're going out with Raven."

"I am, but not for a date. It's... nothing to worry about. Where's Robin and Star?" I tried to switch the topic.

"Probably messing around in the bed," Cyborg wisecracked, "I don't know honestly."

I smiled and shook my head at my best friend.

I grabbed and apple from the fruit basket and munched into it. The juice of the fruit sprayed into my mouth as I bit into the scarlet flesh.

"Gotta blast, dude." I chomped down the remains of the apple and discarded it.

"M'kay. Take it easy and be safe." Cyborg began to eat his own meal.

"Thanks. Later." I headed to Raven's room.

"Thanks for waking me up. I overslept." Raven said as we approached the doctor's office.

Raven and I flew to the North Side of Jump City for the appointment.

"It's no problem." We walked in the building and up to the receptionist.

"Good Afternoon, my name is Zac, how may I help you?" a strawberry blond male glanced at us with his sapphire eyes.

"Hi. I'm here for an appointment with Dr. Ellis." Raven said.

"Ooookay... name?" he swiped through pages.

"Rave- Rachel Roth."

"Yes. Dr. Ellis will be available in a short ten minutes. Just sign in for me right here," he tapped on a page, "Then you both can take a seat in the lobby."

Raven signed the paper and we sat down.

"How're you feeling today, Rae?" I lifted up my arm so she can rest her head on my chest.

"Exhausted."

"Me too." I soothingly rubbed Raven's arm.

A strong wave of lavender traveled up my nose.

Raven's hair smelled like a fresh flower and perfume all at once. I liked the fact that her hair perfectly coordinated with her eyes. Dark violet, but still holding an appealing light within them.

"I had such a hard night, Gar." my ears tickled at how she said my name.

"I barely got a wink of sleep." I agreed.

"Why?"

"Not sure, I guess jus' one of those nights."

"Yeah." Raven replied feebly.

"Rachel Roth?" a blonde female appeared at the side door.

"Let's go, Beastboy." Raven exhaled as we got up.

"Hi! My name is Doctor Ellis. What brings you here today?" The physician opened the door to a room.

I didn't enter.

"Beastboy, aren't you coming?" Raven's eyes met mine.

"No. I mean yeah... I mean only if you are comfortable with me?" I stuttered.

"You're the person I'm most comfortable with. Get in here." Raven smiled warmly and tugged me inside.

I smiled back at sat down in a corner.

"The more the merrier," Doctor Ellis chuckled, "What concerns you today, Rachel?"

"Uhm..." Raven adjusted on the medical bed.

When she tried to speak, her voice cracked, then she broke into tears.

"Oh, my goodness. Here, honey, take some tissues."

I stood up next to Raven and took the tissues.

I frowned as I dabbed her delicate grey cheeks.

"I was... in-an-alley— one night and—"

"Take your time, Rachel." the doctor kindly whispered.

"I was in this alley... and this robber fired a gun at me." Raven rushed.

"Holy smokes! Were you wounded?!" thr lady was alarmed.

"No... he missed."

"Thank goodness. Did you report to the police?"

"No. I passed out and by the time I woke back up he was gone. We have no idea where he went." I wiped another tear from Raven's cheek.

"Oh, gosh. I'm sorry, Rachel, I can't imagine what you are going through. I'm sure this is affecting you, right?"

"Yes."

"Tell me how." The Doctor began to run Raven's vitals.

She checked Raven's heartbeat, blood pressure, ears, mouth, chest, and bones.

"I started getting horrible panic attacks." Raven began.

"You've never had them prior to this incident?" Dr. Ellis got out a notepad and pen.

"No. They started after the threat. I've been feeling an overwhelming bout of anxiety. I-I'm scared to go outside of my house. My appetite is bad. Sometimes I go days without eating then fall into that habit of crash dieting."

"Mhm, mhm..." The pen scribbled on the page.

"I keep hearing th-the gunshot over and over in my head. There's not one minute that I'm awake or asleep w-where I don't hear it. My sleep schedule is out of wack... my hygiene. The day to day routines that used to come like nothing have been almost impossible lately. I'm also scared of loud sounds and opened areas." Raven shuddered.

"Wow. We've got traumatic flashbacks, irregular appetite, sleep, and daily routines, panic attacks..."

"Doc, can I add something?" I interjected.

"Yes, of course. What is your name? I never asked, pardon me." Dr. Ellis gave a cheeky grin.

"Annoying." Raven mumbled.

The doctor laughed.

"It's "Garfield"." I lightly elbowed Raven.

"Okay, Garfield, talk to me."

"Raven- I mean Rachel, Ahem," I cleared my throat and Raven snickered, " She has aggressive outbursts at times. Plus, she gets in these depressive ruts. There are times she gets so secluded she won't leave her room for days. Also, she's under the weather a lot more than she should be." I stated.

"Really? Hmm..."

"Yes."

Raven bowed her head.

"It's okay, Rae. I only said that because I want to help you. The more we tell is the better we will know how to tackle this." I whispered in her ear.

"I know."

I could tell by her voice that she was fighting back tears.

"How long have these symptoms been going on for?" The blonde woman questioned.

"Probably about a month or so, right, Rae?" I peered at the demoness.

"Yeah, about a month and change." Raven droned.

"Okay. So from what I'm seeing here... um..." Dr. Ellis scanned her notes, "Your symptoms seem to be linked to PTSD, also known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This mental illness is linked to flashbacks, loss of appetite and sleep, and a rift in daily lifestyles; which you mentioned. Symptoms of PTSD are also connected to anxiety: the panic attacks and overwhelming worry you are experiencing. In addition, the seclusion, outbursts, and oppressing moods can be related to depression. All of these signs you have experienced in a wide range in such a compact time."

Raven's leg was shake.

I gently rested my hand on it, and she relaxed.

"Your heart rate seems a bit faster than the norm but it is nothing to be worried about. Your other vitals came out just fine. We will have to do a psychological evaluation to be sure of a diagnosis and take steps from there."

"When can we do the psychological evaluation?" I asked.

"As soon as possible. We want to find out what's going on and get to the source. But for the time being... I suggest Rachel tries to stay hydrated, eat, rest. I know those things are hard, but try. Even if it's a little, that's better than nothing. Also try to do things that calm your nerve, maybe reading, drawing, or listening to music. You need to rest, but at times you need to give your mind some activity." I was dumbfounded by the doctor's spiel.

"Okay. Thank you." Raven mustered a smile.

"No problem! It was nice meeting you. At the front desk you can reschedule an appointment. Take care, Rachel," she shook Raven's hand, and then mine.

"I know you will be taken care of. You're in good hands." Dr. Ellis winked at me, then left the room.

"Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, huh, Gar?" Raven covered her face with her hands.

"Yeah, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder." I sighed.

"How am I going to do this?" Raven asked me.

"You aren't. We are going to do this." I embraced Raven.

Raven's only reply was a delicate hug in return
