Prompt: "A request idea that I thought of was Shirou summoning Boudica who becomes a maternal figure to him. For I would assume she would find it tragic that Shirou does in fact remember his original family but doesn't want to think about them due to trauma of the fire. So she utilizes her maternal knowledge to help him come to terms with his loss and be able to think about his family without being reminded of the fire." — Eteru
"I'm home!"
Her Master's caretaker's loud voice carried through the house, and Boudica couldn't help but smile. The woman had an energy that her Master needed in his life. He was so quiet and slow to move, though his mind was always working.
"Soup's ready," Shirou signed. "How's the fish looking?"
"Looking great," she replied. "Taiga will be very happy with this meal, I think."
He smiled and shrugged.
"She'll be happy with anything," he signed amusedly. "You know how she is. We could buy food from the crappy ramen shop in downtown and she'd slurp it up as if it was made by the Buddha himself."
"Don't be rude," she said sternly. "She likes your food and your food alone. Even what I make doesn't make her as happy."
"Sorry." He did look genuinely admonished. She found herself ruffling his hair before she could stop herself.
"It's okay," she said. "I know you care for her. Just tell her that once in a while too, okay? One of the most rewarding feelings as a moth—as someone who cares for another person is to be acknowledged and appreciated for what you do. She deserves to know it."
He nodded.
"Thank you," he signed. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
She hugged him tightly.
"Thank you for giving me this chance," she said quietly. "I won't let you down."
