The following three days saw me and Colby starting to get used to being in a different area from where we once were. The town of Hadspen hasn't really got much to offer with there only being an IGA. That being a small supermarket in food and the only access without going into Launceston. Near the river was where the local footy ground and the local skatepark might help if we were both into sports, which never of us were into. The last area was where I could continue to train both Colby and Brom in some self-defence for both them and me to be comfortable around.
It wouldn't be until Thursday when more knowledge of what I will be doing came to light. Apparently from a conversation with mom, she said I would be enrolled at the local college for the rest of the school year starting from that day. This made me slightly concerned as I wanted to connect with my friends over at my now-former college. But no that wouldn't be the case as I had to deal with being the new kid in an unfamiliar area.
So now with that out of the way, here I am getting a tour of the premises and knowing where everything is before heading into my first class with my new teacher.
"So you know if there is anything about numbers that had to drop out, due to being transformed," I asked my guide trying to get some information.
"I don't know from my experience," he responded before further adding, "but there does feel like a drop in my classes."
After going through the first two classes (those being Geography and social studies), it was time to head to lunch and also have a general break. Especially with the feeling that I could leave early as I didn't have classes for the next two periods if I wanted to. But after seeing the homework that I have to do plus not being distracted by fellow family members, I thought about staying at the college. This meant heading over to the library where I could study in peace.
Entering the library, the first thing I noticed was the number of books that were in the library as it felt a lot bigger compared to my former college. Bookshelves surrounding the inner portion of the library with the computers being near the walls. Between these bookshelves, lie tables where students were already using them with their laptops and textbooks. As I looked around for a vacant table where I could study independently, a librarian started to walk to me, ideally trying to figure if I was meant to be here.
"You're new here?," one of the librarians as I think she was speaking to me.
"Yeah, just moved from Devonport mainly due to factors out of my control," I responded as I started to set up the area for my study.
"Ok then, just wondering because you were unfamiliar compared to the people that I usually see here. Anyway, if you need anything, don't forget to ask."
"I will, but probably will search it for myself before asking."
Working on the geography homework, thoughts started to roll into my mind of what Colby might be doing as he wasn't really doing anything that could aid him. Well, that I knew of anyway.
Over at Stevie house, Colby had just woken up from the floor that laid beside Brendan's bed. After glancing at the clock which showed that it was around 1:20 pm, he slowly walked over to the backyard where Brom had finished with his daily energy requirement.
"Breloom, Breloom (Afternoon Colby)," Brom responded as he glanced over at Colby.
"Maw (Hey)," Colby replied, sounding half tired from his sleep
"Oh, so you've finally decided to turn up then," Stevie responded, almost looking a bit disappointed by this development.
"Mawile, Mawile (It's not my fault)."
"Look at least you are awake, we can finally have some lunch before I head off to work." With that comment, he arranged the food out for Brom and Colby to chew while he sat there with his light lunch. Almost with a feeling of helplessness with his knowledge being minimal compared to Brendan. But unlike some people, he didn't want to give up on them to at least have a good life as a Pokemon.
After Stevie left the room, Colby and Brom went back to a simple discussion about life and before long school was brought back into the discussion.
"Brem, Brem, Brem, Breloom (So what about school?)," Brom responded, questioning Colby in answering the conversation.
"Maw, Mawile (I don't know.)" Colby replied almost not knowing how to answer the question as he shrugged the question away.
"Brem, Brem, Brem, Breloo" (You know, you could go rogue.)
Colby stayed quiet as he thought about the possibility of going that possible route. But how could he do that to the family that loved him for whom he was and not a monster that the general population are a custom to? It is at least some comfort compared to some people in the world who were forced out of their private home from no fault of their own.
Walking over to the bus stop, I had that sort of feeling that you get when something was going to happen that you least expected. Well, that sort of happened as I climbed aboard the bus. Taking my seat, I noticed someone else was getting on the bus with a Vibrava behind them. That Vibrava seemed to be slightly too big for the bus entrance but somehow fit into that gap as she walked over to the seat.
Fifteen minutes later, the bus arrived at my stop and after picking up my belongings, I started to head to the door. But not before noticing that the girl that I had noticed earlier had also started to remove herself from the seat. As she left her seat, the Vibrava walked over to the door and jumped off the bus. As it touched the ground, the wings were spread back out to how it usually is shown in the Pokemon universe. Following behind was the girl as she got off around a minute after the Vibrava.
Getting off the bus, I tried gaining the attention of her, hoping to get a chat about her Pokemon. Ignoring my requests, I thought about giving chase but decided to ignore that idea as I started walking in the opposite direction back to my place. Backpack and tiredness and all as I covered that distance to home.
Arriving back at the house, I could hear the television blaring down the living room. Not needing to head into the kitchen, I went straight into the bedroom to check up on any social media that I could only access at home. This meant going over to Reddit as that was restricted at the local college for no apparent reason.
Going through Reddit, it wasn't so much a surprise to see this event still dominating the waves. Post after post being about this event which sort of had that feeling if World War II had the internet during that period. Events continuing to be cancelled or at least postponed with that realization that this had and still was developing. At least the internet performs what the internet performs and that is to be weird over the little things like posting memes which if good gets a little chuckle from me.
Later that night, I struggled to fall asleep with thoughts going back to that person I observe on the bus and want to know more. Oh what I am kidding, she probably would think it was bizarre to try and stalk her just to get some attention. At least she hasn't given up hope on the Vibrava that is around her. This thought has also made me wonder if it was a Trapinch the first time I saw her when she was in the training field. It would make sense for that to traditionally be the case but that is a future problem for me.
Author Note: It's been four months since I have added on to this story and when you are stuck on trying to progress the story it hits you like something stuck in your head and you can't really get it out. That and real life has become a lot busier with work and all that other stuff that I want to do. Hopefully the next "story chapter" won't take as long, but the next chapter will be from the diary entries of Brandon from Chapter 1 to now.
