Later that evening…..
Theo stormed out of the Slytherin Dormitory. The question had made a thousand memories flash in front of me. He asked something which he was trying to forget since months and he had even made slight success on that but after this stupid game, everything he had done went down like sand.
He didn't want to think of those times. It hurt him immensely. He just wanted to erase those memories. He was so lost in thoughts that he didn't even know where he was heading.
In the Gryffindor Dormitory
It was nearly midnight and everyone was fast asleep…well not everyone. Sounds could be heard coming from the girl's dorm. Certainly they were up.
Hermione groaned when Ginny pulled her up from her sleep. She was so tired that she didn't want to do anything but sleep. But Ginevra Weasley was too stubborn.
"Come on, Hermione. Wake up!" Ginny shouted at Hermione who was still half-asleep.
"No Gin, leave me alone. I want to sleep" Hermione retorted and tried to fall back in her bed but Ginny caught her by the arm.
"No you can't" Ginny shouted back in frustration. "Today is girl's night and you are therefore not allowed to sleep"
"Says who?" Hermione asked glaring at the red head.
"Says me!" Ginny replied in the same tone.
"Ok fine" Hermione put her hand in the gesture of surrender. "You win. I lose. I'm up, ok?"
"Better" Ginny smiled at the brunette. "Girls, Hermione's up. We can start now"
Everyone exclaimed in joy. Lavender and Parvati giggled at that.
"Ok so what shall we do today?" Ginny asked the group.
"Umm hairs?" Lavender insisted.
Hermione was not enjoying this. Nope, not at all enjoying this. She was not even a bit interested in these moronic activities? Who in their right minds do hairs in the middle of the night? Utterly ridiculous.
Hermione just wanted to fall back on her bed. She had a very long day today and not to forget a very tiring one. She just wanted a very long sleep but here she was.
"Umm why not we do something different today?" Katie suggested to her friends.
Everyone turned their heads to look at Katie, even Hermione's.
"I mean we always do hairs and nails" Katie exclaimed to everyone. "Why not we play a game tonight? Maybe Truth and dare?"
Everyone was amused by the idea…..well, except Hermione. They all agreed to Katie's idea.
'Oh please for Godric's sake no' Hermione closed her eyes in frustration. She didn't want to play this pathetic excuse of a game. And she most certainly did not want to miss her sleep for this.
"Ok gather around in a circle" Ginny instructed everyone.
"Perfect" Ginny exclaimed clapping her hands together. "Now I think everyone knows the rules of this game?"
Everyone nodded in response.
"Brilliant" Ginny beamed at everyone. "Then let's start the game girls, shall we?"
Ginny placed the bottle in the middle and rotated it. The bottle came at halt after few seconds of rotation.
Everyone looked at the bottle and they found it was Lavender's turn to answer and Katie's turn to question her.
"Truth or dare?" Katie asked the girl in front of her.
"Truth" Lavender answered without wasting any second.
"Which boy do you want to kiss?"
Lavender blushed at the question but answered finally, "Seamus"
Everyone made a sound of 'Woo hoo' to which Lavender reddened even more. Even Hermione was amused by her answer.
"OK, time for next round" Ginny said spinning the bottle.
This time the bottle stooped to point at Ginny, who will answer, and at Parvati to question.
"Truth or dare?"
"Truth" Ginny answered Parvati.
"Who is better kisser? Dean or Harry?"
"Both are amazing kisser but I have to say Harry is better" Ginny answered smiling to which Hermione grinned.
Ginny noticed Hermione grinning and her smile widened, "Ok, let's move on"
'Oh shit' Hermione cursed in her mind when she saw where the bottle pointed.
The bottle pointed at Ginny and Hermione. Hermione was supposed to answer and Ginny was the one who was going to question her.
"Ok Hermione, truth or dare?"
Hermione thought for a while before answering, "Truth"
Ginny smirked at Hermione's answer. 'Oh boy, I am not having a good feeling about this' Hermione thought after seeing Ginny's reaction.
"If you were give an option to choose between two boys, who will it be? Draco Malfoy or Theodore Nott?"
Hermione was taken aback by the question. She most certainly did not see that coming. And let alone the fact that the question was beyond disgusting.
Why them? Malfoy hated her and maybe Nott did too. So what was the point in choosing either of them? Merlin, they all hated each other. They were the enemies.
Hermione felt her blood boil at the question. She tried to control herself from bursting out but she could not.
"What type of question is this?" Hermione spat. "I'd rather die than save them. You all know it very perfectly that we three don' share a very bright history. They taunted me for years and you ask me to make a choice. Believe me, if I get a chance, I'll murder them. Don't you know what they did to me? And after knowing it, you have the audacity to ask such question?"
Ginny was taken aback by Hermione's outburst, "Hermione, calm down. It was just a mere question. Just for fun"
"Just for fun?" Hermione laughed. "You wake me up in the middle of night to ask me which of my enemies I will choose? And bring all the horrible memories together and you call that fun?"
"You don't need to make big scene out of this, Hermione" Ginny said.
"Yes Hermione, it was a mere question" Katie said. "Nothing to take seriously"
"You need to chill. Try to be a normal girl….an ordinary girl instead of just burying your nose in the books" Lavender said.
Now Hermione couldn't take it anywhere. First they drag her into this stupid game and then they lecture her? She looked at them in disgust and stood up. She stormed out of the Gryffindor tower.
Hermione was furious at her friends for what they did. The words they spat at her hurt her especially Lavender's. What do they all think of themselves? Hermione was on the verge of crying. She needed sometime alone…somewhere peaceful so she headed for the Astronomy tower.
In the Astronomy Tower
Hermione was looking down at the path and heading towards the top of the tower. Her mind was exploding with thoughts.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she bumped into someone and closed her eyes as she was going to fall but it never happened.
She opened her eyes to find a boy holding her by her waist. She narrowed her eyes to look at the boy and realized who he was.
"We need to stop meeting like this" Theo whispered to her smirking.
Hermione straightened herself and scrawled at the boy, "Sod off, Nott"
"Hey, a 'thank you' would be appreciated" He put a hand on his heart.
Both of them looked around to find that they were at the top of the Astronomy Tower.
"What are you doing here?" Hermione asked the Slytherin next to her.
"I wanted to spend some time alone in peace" Theo replied looking at the ground. "What about you? Why are you out so late?"
"Same situation"
"Why, trouble in paradise, Granger?" Theo managed a laugh.
"Something like that" Hermione replied with a sigh.
Theo looked up from the ground to see her. She was looking upset about something. He did not say anything just stood there looking outside at the view.
Suddenly the silence was broken by Hermione, "I thought you all had some Slytherin Party tonight"
"That's what caused the trouble in the first place"
Hermione let out a 'oh' and turned her head back to look at the view. She was curious about what happened with the boy standing next to her. He was not acting himself….he looked rather upset.
"May I ask what happened?" Hermione asked looking at him.
Theo came out of his thoughts at her question. He thought for a while before turning to face her, "You remember Adrian Pucey?'
"The one who had a fight with Malfoy today?" Hermione asked recalling the scene.
Theo nodded and continued, "We were in the party when that bastard insisted to play this stupid game called "Truth and Dare' to which we all agreed without even thinking. He was trying get revenge. It was a fucking trap. When my turn came, I chose 'Truth' and he asked me something which caused me pain….immense pain. He knew I didn't want to answer that question. He knew he would touch the nerve with that question. He did it fucking intentionally"
Hermione watched Theo the whole time he spoke. She could recognize the pain his voice.
"I'm sorry to hear that" Hermione said to him softly.
"Thanks" Theo managed a short smile at her. "Anyways what happened with you?"
"Just an argument with my friends"
"Potter and Weasley?"
"No, not them. With my female friends" Hermione shook her head and said.
"May I know what happened?"
Hermione took the question in consideration. He had told his problem, it was fair to tell hers.
"We were playing this stupid game and they asked me a question which triggered me. I shouted at them for that to which they retorted back. They told me to relax and be more girly. To be like ordinary girls. They think I am boring." Hermione said to Theo.
"They weren't fully wrong" Theo said looking at the view.
"What?" Hermione asked in confusion.
He turned to fully face her, "That you are no ordinary girl. That's true. And I know for a fact that you are most certainly not boring. You are one of the few people who never fail to entertain me. Come on Granger, you fought in the war. You helped in defeating the evil. You don't have to be upset about what some fuckers say."
Hermione just stared at him. She didn't expect this and most certainly not from him. This was not the Theo she knew.
"Umm…thanks" Hermione said putting a curl of her hair behind her ear.
Theo gave her short nod in response. Both of them got lost in their respective thoughts once again.
After a few minutes Hermione spoke, "Can I ask you something?"
Theo turned his head to look at her, "Do I have a choice?"
Hermione smirked at him, "I'll take that as a yes. Umm…you never called me a mudblood this year"
"War changes people, Granger" Theo answered without any malice in his voice.
Hermione nodded in response although she wasn't satisfied by the answer, "I think I should leave. It's late"
Theo nodded at her words, "Yeah, I'm leaving too. So see you tomorrow."
Hermione smirked at him, "Oh are you so certain that we'll meet tomorrow?"
Theo watched her in amusement. God she really did know how to smirk. He managed to smirk back, "Oh yeah I am since you are stuck with me in the patrols"
Hermione mentally slapped herself to forget about the patrols. How could she be that dumb? She started marching forwards to exit.
Theo laughed at her reaction and kept his pace as hers. Both of them came at the point from where they had to go in the opposite directions.
"Umm…goodnight Nott" Hermione said turning back as she couldn't figure out what to say.
Theo watched at her as she walked away in the opposite direction.
"Goodnight Granger", he barely whispered.
Theo walked back to his dorm with hundreds of thoughts but not the previous ones. He saw Draco sitting on the couch with wine in his hand.
"Why are you up so late?" He asked the blonde guy.
Draco looked up at Theo, "Where were you?"
Theo sat down beside him on the couch, "I wanted to be alone"
Draco nodded and said, "He was taking revenge. Pucey"
Theo had already figured that out. "I swear to Salazar Draco, I will fucking kill that bastard. What did he do to you lot?"
Draco looked at him for a few seconds, "He made Blaise kiss Millicent and made me kiss Astoria"
Obviously, Draco lied to him.
Theo narrowed his eyebrows at him, "That doesn't sound like him. Anyways I am going to bed"
Theo stood up and walked into his room. Draco stared at his friend from the back. He didn't like to lie to him but he didn't have any choice. Theo would be furious if he knows the truth.
Draco sipped his drink and started thinking of what a disaster is going to take place in the next few days. He was not even a bit interested in Hermione…heck he hated that girl. He had to make her fall in love with him but how? He was in serious trouble.
