Hey guys! Seems that some of you didn't like last chapter but if you were paying attention I said it was a teaser for this chapter. I have also developed a new way of writing that will hopefully make these chapters longer. Also from now on the story will written from the complete prospective of the Doom Guy.

Chapter - 8: Reconciliation

I held onto a safety bar on top of the Pelican. I was to lead a group of ODST and Marines onto a Covenant Carrier where we would rescue Captain Keyes. The Pelican door slowly opened as it hovered close to the ground. I motioned for my squad to follow as I jumped from the Pelican onto the grass below. I made my way over to the cliff-side that over viewed the group of aliens, making sure none of my men were straying off path. I grabbed out my sniper and looked over the field. There was 3 Elite majors and some Grunts along with a single Jackal.

2 of the Elites were talking so I aimed at the head of the first, steadying my rifle. I pulled the trigger. The other Elite jumped back in surprise and shock as blood sprayed all over his face and chest. I quickly aimed at the other Elite and took him out before he was able to spot me. A few of the Grunts screamed and alerted the last Elite. I turned over to the Jackal who was getting their shield ready, so I quickly shot them in the chest, giving me enough time to aim to their head without them blocking.

Right after I pulled the trigger, I felt plasma burns in my abdomen. I quickly rolled out of the way and signaled to ODST holding the rocket launcher. She nodded to me and aimed the launcher at the group. As the rocket quickly made it's way towards the group, the Elite jumped into cover. I jumped down onto a rock and ran towards the cover. Right as the Elite looked over the cover, I blow his head to bits. The last 2 Grunts screamed and ran fast. I quickly reloaded and ran to them, shooting both of them to the ground, the shots to the back causing the methane inside the Grunt's tank to explode.

The ODST's gave cheer as I finished off the 2 Grunts, jumping down to stand next to me. We made our way over to the path on the cliff-side. I quickly spotted the Elites at the end of the path, who quickly aimed their rifles at me. I pushed the ODST next to me to cover as plasma-rounds soured past us. I lifted my sniper rifle and quickly aimed for the first Elite's head. The Elite next to him ducked as his head was torn off by the round. I aimed to where the Elite was from behind cover. The Elite quickly looked over the cover but he didn't last long.

The Jackals nearby scattered about, readying their needlers. My squad got out SMGs and quickly rushed to the many Jackal positions. The ODST team made quick work of the ones on the lower level as I climbed to the upper area and swept a Jackal by the feat before collapsing his lungs. Before the other could lift their needler, I lifted my shotgun to below his shield, disconnecting his body from the legs. As the Jackal screamed in agony I turned around and shot the Elite sneaking up on me, sending him off the cliff-side from the blast. I then turned around and blasted the Jackal below me.

Me and my team quickly swept the rest-simple really-just some Jackals and Grunts with one Elite. My squad continued up the path where a Grunt had his back turned above the hill. Pulling out my sniper, I shot the methane tank strip which launched the Grunt into a small group of Jackals who died in the following explosion. Making my way up the hill, I laid eyes upon a small valley with an arch over the trench. To the left were 3 Elites ready to 'ruin my day'. I quickly shot one in the foot before running up to the second one and smashing his head against my knee before punching him off the edge. The third Elite tried to slash me with an energy sword but I quickly side-stepped before grabbing his wrist and punch his elbow. I lifted him up before throwing him onto the first Elite, I then walked over and smashed his head in. There was a turret ahead which I made quick work of with my sniper rifle. I then turned to view a sight that almost made me smile. At the very least 10 Elites, 23 Jackals, and 14 Grunts. 2 Elites ran up to me with their rifles in hand, attempting to shoot at me. As one went in to punch me, I brought out my shotgun and raised it to his head. The second Elite yelled in rage at what I had done to his brother and ran straight for me. Not a smart move. I upper-cut him before blasting my second shell in his abdomen. I then ran to cover as a volley of plasma headed my way.

I turned to my side to see 4 plasma grenades and a plasma-pistol. I hurled a grenade over the rock that covered me, landed just between a group of Jackals and Grunts. As the closest Elite was distracted by the explosion I hit over the head-bringing him to his knee-and kicking him right in the jaw. I then grabbed another Elite and repeatedly smashed his head against the rock. I then grabbed out my plasma-pistol-charging it up-and destroyed another Elite's shield. I then quickly jumped onto the Elite and smashed his into the dirt. As the ODST squad made their way up, I threw a grenade at 2 Elites who blow up in a glorious blue-flame. I then grabbed out my shotgun and blasted a group of Grunts who were running about. The ODST made quick work of the rest.

I then ran over arch and then through a path in between the mountain. We came across a large group of enemies(mostly Jackals) and immediately scoped in on the turret above. Taking out the gunner, I then switched back to my shotgun and went on a rampage. Me and my team were killing Jackals and Grunts left and right, just an absolute massacre. The battle field was filled with blue and purple blood when we were finished.

As we approached the beam, 2 beings came down it. It was new enemies. "Hunters," Cortana said, "Aim for the gap in their back and neck." I follow suit, jumping over one as it charged it's beam jamming my shotgun into it's mass. The second one was killed by the squad when it turned around to fight me. As we were stepping around, I thought I heard a distorted voice. I quickly turned around, but there was nothing in sight. "Come on Slayer, we need to get moving!" One of the ODST said. I made my way up before we one-by-one got launched up into the ship.

I hoped you enjoyed this new chapter, put a lot of work into it. Now you can all see though that things are likely to change more so than before, because there IS a reason the Doom Slayer is here. And that voice just might be the first clue...
