The Mystery
A/N: Sorry that this chapter is so short!
Nick stands in his office looking out over sunny D.C, it's about two in the afternoon and he's been working hard all day, not to mention letting two super soldiers in o Project Insight. His mind is overwhelming him right now.
"Secure office," Nicky says out loud. The office's walls and windows go dark, not allowing anyone to see in, it's good when he has files on his desk or a person sitting down that he doesn't want anyone to see from the outside. He knows he has a lot of enemies, so he has to take precautions. The thing that scares him is that he doesn't know who exactly his enemies are. He takes the flashdrive out of his pocket that Natasha gave him, from her mission. He specifically requested that it come straight to him. He plugs it into a device on his desk, that will project the files. "Open Lemurian Star's satellite launch file," he instructs. The computer makes a whirring noise before making a buzzing one.
"Access denied," the computer says.
"Run decryption," Nick says, walking around his desk, to the large TV-like screen on his office wall.
"Decryption failed," the computer says after a couple of seconds.
"Director override. Fury, Nicholas J," Nick says, he knows that the files would be hard to get into but not this hard. The command he spoke should be the one to do it though.
"Override denied. All files sealed," the computer says.
"On whose authority?" Nick explains, he's the most powerful man in the building right now, no one should be able to override his orders.
"Fury, Nicholas J," the computer answers. Nick just stares at the screen in disbelief, adjusting himself uncomfortably.
