another long-ish chapter from my fanfiction of Zero's point of view in regards to his time at Cross Academy and his relationship with Yuuki.

disclamation: I do not own the 'Vampire Knight' anime or the manga. the rights of ownership for the manga go directly to Hino Matsuri, while unfortunately for us all, the ownership rights of the anime go straight to Viz Media. I hate the producers of the anime so much. I'll never forgive them for that transgression they had some kind of nerve to end the anime on. NEVER!

After Yuuki and I finally made the time to stop by Headmaster Kaien Cross's office, I began my trial of talking him about our job as the Disciplinary Committee prefects. It was really my idea to talk to him about it, but I did not know how far I would be able to get. Oh well, I had to try talking about my concerns to him sooner or later, so why not sooner.

Yours Truly: Why are we doing this, Headmaster? Come on. Our job is to work security, not be bodyguards for celebrities.

Then, I slammed my hand against his desk, trying to get him to see what I was talking about.

Kaien Cross: I know doing this every night is hard on you…

Yours Truly: Well, if you're aware of that then why don't you increase the number of prefects in the Disciplinary Committee?

I then rose right back up to a standing position and pointed to Yuuki, who was behind me all throughout that time.

Yours Truly: All I got is this girl and she's useless.

Then, Yuuki got mad at me about my comment.

Yuuki: I don't have to take lip from someone who's late all the time.

Kaien Cross: That won't happen.

The idiot headmaster of the academy then took a sip from his mug of hot tea.

Kaien Cross: It's our job to keep their identities a complete secret. I mean, that's why the academy is set up the way it is; so we can keep the Day Class and the Night Class separate from each other. For the two to coexist, Day Class mustn't know the truth about Night Class, and that's why your work as guardian prefects is so critical. You are the only two I can trust with this duty.

While Yuuki only nodded her head in response to his words, I just got annoyed at this idea.

Kaien Cross: I know you work all night and that people hate you and that it's a thankless task, but by giving this job to my dear son and loving daughter, I alleviate any sense of guilt.

That was when the idiot headmaster scooched up to my face and finally got on my nerves just enough for to slam my hand into his desk, and at my full strength this time. When I his desk at my full strength, I was actually strong enough to basically chop his desk in half.

Yours Truly: I admit I do have certain obligations to you, but I do not remember agreeing to become your son!

It was then that the idiot headmaster began crying up a few crocodile tears.

Kaien Cross: You're such a stickler for details, Zero.

Then, I tried to turn things over to Yuuki.

Yours Truly: You're actually his daughter, Yuuki. Why don't you be the one to try to talk some sense into him?

Yuuki thought for a second before she spoke again.

Yuuki: Well, it seems to that the Night Class is actually doing a pretty good job of getting along with the Day Class, and I really don't mind having to help out.

Of course, Yuuki thought that way about the Night Class' relationship with the Day Class. This was obviously because a piece of what the Day Class fan girls thought of Yuuki was actually more true about her than she cared to admit; and that was the part about her trying to keep the Night Class students to herself, particularly Kaname Kuran.

Meanwhile behind his now wrecked desk, the idiot headmaster cried even more crocodile tears.

Kaien Cross: You're such a good girl. You make me so proud of you!

That idiot headmaster then reached out to embrace my Yuuki right in front of me. Luckily for the both of us, Yuuki was initially creeped out by the old geezer just enough to back away from his embrace. Yuuki did, however, try to see if he was alright shortly after he fell onto his newly chopped-in-half desk when his embrace missed her.

Yuuki: Headmaster?

Kaien Cross: Call me 'father'.

Then, he began sobbing up a monsoon of crocodile tears.

Yuuki: Um, OK, 'Father'.

Then, he suddenly recovered from crying and rose into a standing position.

A/N: I knew from the start that they were just crocodile tears!

Kaien Cross: Yuuki, you are the only one who truly understands my pacifist ideology. You see, it has long been my dream to finally reach a day where we can once and for all bring an end to the dark shared history between vampires and humans. With their open minds and keen intellect, today's youth can bridge the gap and bring harmony between our species for the first time in centuries. That's why I do what I do, why I created the Night Class.

I, on the other hand, no longer possessed any desire to listen to this. This kind of ridiculous speech was just what I deserved for trying to get Yuuki to help me talk some sense into the idiot headmaster. I did, however, hear Yuuki on my way out of Headmaster Cross's office.

Yuuki: Zero!

I just ignored her this time, though.
