Family? Or No Family?
I bet you are probably wondering about the strange title? It is only because we are now going to witness our favourite feathery friends leaving Egypt to get back home to Rio as quickly as possible! We now know that Lucia was behind the murder of Diante! Nigel was the one behind the murder of Sergio…but who was this strange blue and gold female that only joined the team? Let's find out shall we?
The late afternoon was drifting slowly into a very mild evening in Cairo! The humans were either on their way back home from a busy day in the streets, or returning home from work to deal with family matters!
As for our favourite Rio birds, and their new friends Fernando and the new guest! They were just about ready to depart from Siax's old home. As they finished packing their supplies, and they were sharing a quick goodbye with the royals.
"See you soon you guys! It's a shame you couldn't stay longer?" Donkor remarked as he finished giving Blu and Jewel a hug.
"Don't worry Donkor, we shall wait for you when you decide to visit!" Jewel remarked as she turned around to Louie and gave him a quick hug goodbye. "Now, are you sure that you don't want to come with us? You can help get revenge for your brother's murder?"
"Oh no, I do not kill people! I only heal! But do me a favour eh? RIP his fucking intestines out and use them to strangle the prick!" Louie replied as he smirked in a devious manner.
"Wow, that's some dark shit right there! Are we ready to depart?" One of the guards asked the Rio birds as he got his men into formation.
"Ready when you are Tom! Let's get back home to Rio!" Alex remarked with a positive attitude.
"Alright, you heard the man ladies! Let's get this rear into gear!" Tom shouted one determination, as his friends rolled their eyes and got into a position to take off. "Okay…ready…let's fly!"
All of the guards flapped their wings and took flight immediately, causing the birds from Rio to flap their wings in response.
"Farewell guys! Hope to see all of you soon in Rio!" Mandisa called out as the king and queen, plus Louie and several guards waved to their new friends as they left the building quicker than expected.
"Oh don't worry! We will save a spot for you at the samba club!" Alex called out as he waved in mid air while flying off with his wife and friends.
Once they were little specs in the distance, Mandisa laid her head on her husband's shoulder, and he wrapped his wing around her. "Gee, that Alex sure is the perfect guy for our little baby isn't she honey?"
Donkor smiled at his wife and kissed her on the cheek, before slowly moving his wing up and down her back.
"He sure is darling! He sure is!" He simply responded, as the three of them turned around and walked back inside.
Meanwhile…
"Grrrrrrr! These guards are getting on my nerves!" A very irritated voice was heard from around the corner of a market stall in the city. It was in fact Keith who muttered those words. "My talons are bleeding! My eyes are watery from the smoke! That little…SNOWBALL! Ran off with MY Siax! Now…I got these bozos chasing me!"
He peered his head around the corner to see a bunch of scarlet and military macaws running around with hoods on their heads, in search for the irritated barn owl.
"Keep looking! We can't let Keith get away! Just keep him moving while the tourists head back home!" One of the assassins spoke up, as he tore a sheet off of a market stall.
"Head back home eh? Well then…I guess I know what I need to do!" The muscular barn owl cackled evilly in a quiet tone, and flapped his wings as fast as he could. To go to the one place that he thought his enemies would go to…the airport!
Speaking Of Which…
Blu and Jewel continued to lead the flock of birds, who flew just behind them at a comfortable speed.
The guards surrounded them in like an oval shape, to avoid Keith from attacking them from any side. They had their orders from the king delivered to them very personally! So they knew that they couldn't mess anything up.
Fernando flew right next to the blue and gold female, who continued to fly in silence. Because she didn't want to talk to anyone until they got in the plane.
But that didn't stop him from trying to strike up a conversation with her…which in her eyes…thought he was flirting with her.
"So…you are also an assassin huh? Kind of erm…ironic don't you think?" The military macaw asked her politely, as she only looked up at him to give the male an unamused look.
"What are you trying to do here?" She asked a little rudely, as she dropped back a little to fly with Alex and Siax.
"Ahhhh…you are one of THOSE kind of girls eh? Gotcha!" Fernando winked at her playfully, and started to pick up the pace to fly next to Blu.
"Ughhh…I don't want to talk about anything as of now!" The female groaned while rolling her eyes.
"Hey…I'm Siax by the way!" The female burrowing owl politely introduced herself as she flew close to her.
"Hi Siax…Sorry! I don't mean to be like this! It's the way I was…brought up!"
"How do you mean?" Alex asked as he joined in on the conversation.
"Well…I've not really had a memory of what my mother looks like? I only remember my father…dumping me here!" The female sadly spoke while lowering her head.
"What? Your father abandoned you?"
"Yes…when I was just a chick! Me and my brother!"
"You have a brother?! Oh my god…is…is…" Alex was about to say, but she cut him off by revealing the truth.
"My brother is dead Alex! Félix killed him!" She spoke up with a bit of anger, shaking her head from side to side.
"Félix? Who's Félix?" Siax asked as they were edging closer to the airport.
"Well…rumours say that he was an assassin, who betrayed his own brotherhood to kill the son of the legendary assassin Leandro! Which is incredibly weird because my father was also named Leandro!"
"WHAT?!" Both Alex and Siax gasped in horror, while they heard her say that name.
"What? Was it something I said?" She asked confused with a little confused expression.
"RDJ's father was named Leandro! Hold on…feel free to disagree here? But…is it possible…that RDJ…is…your brother?" Alex asked with widened eyes, as the airport was within their eyesight.
"Well…" She was about to respond, but Tom cut her off of her sentence.
"Okay Rio birds! Your plane is the first one on the right! Me and my associates scouted the place put before we left! It's set to leave in the next ten minutes! So you better hurry!" Tom announced as they all landed on the roof together.
"Okay! Well…thank you for the escort guys! But we better be on our way!" Jewel waved goodbye to them as she leapt off of the roof with Blu and Fernando.
"Don't worry you guys! We distracted Keith long enough so he won't be coming with you to Rio! Travel safe guys!" Tom gave Siax a quick hug and flew off with his associates.
Leaving Alex, Siax and the blue and gold macaw to follow the others as quickly as they could.
"Remember guys, just fly straight into the cargo hold and don't stop! The humans aren't looking, so it's our best chance!" Alex shouted as the group of them got closer to the plane doors.
Luckily for them, they managed to get on the plane with no problems at all, and they all flew to the back of the cargo hold before sitting down. To avoid being spotted by any of the airport workers.
"Phew! That was a close one!" Blu remarked as he leaned up against a suitcase, and breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
"You are telling me! I think that's the quickest I have flown since we flew out of São Paulo stadium!" Jewel remarked as she leaned on him, causing her husband to wrap his wings around her.
The cargo door to the plane eventually slammed shut, meaning that the plane was going to be moving at any moment.
"Wow…I can't believe I'm going home? It's been…so long?" Fernando remarked as he sat down on the cargo floor, placing his head in his wings.
"Just out of curiosity Fernando? Why didn't you stick to RDJ's deal straight away? Why have you decided to change your mind now?" Blu asked in curiosity, as he looked up at him.
"Plan? What plan?" Jewel asked in concern, as she thought that it was something bad.
"Well…back at São Paulo stadium! I used to work for Armando and his thugs! But eventually after the battle I was barely alive! I had a nasty wound on my talon, and I tried my best to escape! But RDJ was there! He pinned me down and I told him everything about Armando! Julio! Omar! Zenon! Everything!" The military male explained as he started rubbing his aching wings.
"Then what happened?" The blue spix's female asked another question, as her curiosity grew.
"He spared my life, in exchange for my cooperation! But I said I'd work for Armando behind enemy lines so it would be impossible for me to be detected! But…once I left São Paulo to go to the Amazon, I told my wife and son to head off to Egypt, so that they would be safe!"
"Then let me guess? As soon as you get to the Amazon, Armando wasn't there?"
"Precisely! I was told he was away on business in Cairo! Which scared me because I didn't think he'd know where my family were!"
"So that's why you ended up back in Egypt?" Siax asked the next question while raising her wing.
"Exactly! I came back here to find them! I searched everywhere in the city! But I couldn't find them anywhere! So, I talked to Keith, and he told me that Donkor banished them for betrayal! So I left the building to go and find them! But by the time I got back to the city…it was already too late!" Fernando finished explaining, as he covered his face with his wing. "I had to find out from one of the locals that Armando found out about my little meeting with RDJ! So he murdered my family! MY family!"
"I'm sorry to hear that buddy!" Alex replied sadly as he patted him on the shoulder.
"It's fine! Maybe it will be good to see RDJ again! Anyway…there is still one thing that we have to know here?"
"What?" Blu asked curiously as he leaned up from the suitcase.
"I think…little miss quiet over there needs to open her pretty little beak there!"
Everyone in the cargo hold turned their attention towards the blue and gold female macaw, who shot Fernando a really disgusted look.
"Don't call me that!" She spat at him in disgust while cringing at him.
"Come on baby? You know you can't resist me?" Fernando winked at her playfully, causing her to feel annoyed.
"Call me one more nickname, and I will end you!"
"Okay lady! Calm your breasts off! Your sweet round bazookas!"
"THAT'S IT!" She jumped to her talons and went to attack him, but Siax and Alex held her back while Blu and Jewel stood in front of Fernando. "Siax! Let me go!"
"Trust me! It's not worth the hassle!" Siax responded as she tried to calm her down. "Fernando, stop acting like a cocky asshole!"
"Fine! I'm sorry!" The military macaw responded in defeat and lifted his wings up. Before sitting back down in the other corner of the hold.
Once she managed to calm herself down, Siax let go of her wing and started rubbing her back. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah…thanks!" She replied smoothly, as she sat down on the floor next to Siax and Alex.
"Forgive me though miss? We haven't exactly got to know you pretty well since you joined us on our trip? Can I ask? What's your story?" Blu asked politely, as the two boys macaws walked up to where the others were sitting and sat opposite them.
The blue and gold female sighed heavily at first, and tried to rearrange her thoughts. Trying her best to tell her story about how she came to Egypt.
"Well…I was originally born in Rio! All I remember as a chick was seeing my father every morning get up early to leave the nest, and didn't come back until later on that day! He was a pretty busy guy!" She started explaining, as everyone was really paying attention to what she was saying. As they wanted to know each little detail about her.
"So…was it just you on your own?" Fernando asked from the other side of Blu, as he joined in with the group.
"Nope! I had my brother with me at the time, the one I told you that he passed away?" She turned to Siax, who frowned sadly at the thought of it.
"So what happened to you?" Jewel asked the next question, as she laid her head on Blu's shoulder.
"Well…After about a year, my father at the time told me that I was going on a trip with him and my brother! So, as I was still a chick at the time I agreed! So we flew on a plane…and we ended up in Cairo!"
"Then what happened?" Alex asked the next question, as he got into a more comfortable position.
"So we ended up flying to this really scary building in the middle of the city! Once we arrived there, me and my brother met this elderly macaw named Alessandro! An Italian believe it or not! But anyway, my father explained to them that we needed to be kept here so that we would be safe!"
"So…did he just take off and leave you?" Fernando asked with no remorse, making Blu slap him on the back of his head.
"Yeah…I called out to him to ask why he was doing this? And his response was…the time will come…when you know why!" The female started to sniff a little, and wiped her face with her wing. "That was the last time I ever saw my dad again! He never came back! That was that!"
"So I take it that's why you trained to be an assassin? Because you were in an assassin guild?" Blu asked as he got a little more curious.
"Yes, both myself and my brother Fred trained together for many years! But sadly one day…he was brutally murdered by a scarlet macaw!" She started to sniff again, as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Fred? Hang on a second…" Jewel paused for a moment…as she was trying to think about that name for a moment. "I remember…a conversation that I had with RDJ…on top of the tree base in the Amazon! He mentioned that he had a brother named Fred! Oh…my…"
"God! So…what you're saying is…RDJ…is…my brother?" The female blue and gold macaw spoke in surprise, as she placed a wing on her heart. "This all makes perfect sense now!"
"What makes perfect sense?" Blu asked casually as he leaned up against the wall with Jewel rested on his lap.
"Leandro my father sent me to Egypt to protect me! He knew that he was going to die! So he sent me and my brother away, because he thought that it was safer for us! But when they had another child, he must have retired from being an assassin! That's why he was killed! Because the assassins must have thought that he'd betray them by leaving the assassin order! So that's why RDJ spent most of his teen years with my dad! Because he retired!"
"Yes that makes sense! But…why wouldn't he retire after having his first two children?" Jewel asked as she felt a bit curious about this.
"I don't know? Maybe he was already dealing with a target against the assassins at the time! Maybe he knew that this was the only way that he could save our lives!"
"But hold on a second? You said that Félix was the one who killed Fred?" Siax asked as she tilted her head to the side.
"Yeah? What about it?"
"RDJ told us that Nigel killed him?"
"No! Félix killed him! He didn't even know Nigel back then!" The female responded annoyed by their comments.
"So that means, Nigel was only responsible for your parents dying? So that means…Félix is the one who started this all? He is the cause of RDJ's suffering!" Jewel pointed out the obvious, as she stood back up onto her talons.
"Fuck…this has been a really crazy trip!" Alex thought out loud as he placed a wing on his head to try and take all of this in. "First, we nearly get killed by a fucking bulky prick barn owl! Then, we find out that Lucia was the reason why Diante was murdered that day! Now we know the bird behind RDJ's and your past?! Oh no…this is not good! What if this Félix finds us? What if he already knows that we are coming home?"
"I doubt it Alex! I think whoever this Félix guy is, I'm sure he's already moving on with his life and set up his own little army elsewhere! The world is a huge place!" The blue and gold female smiled at him and patted the snowy owl male on the back.
"So what do we do now? Ohhh! I know! You could give yourself a name?!" Blu suggested in excitement as he clapped his wings together.
"Hmmm…I suppose it is better to give myself a name? Erm…how about…Leona?" She suggested start first, but her new friends shook their heads at her. "Why? What's wrong with that?"
"We already have a friend back home called Leona." Alex replied as he tried to think of a name. "Oooh! How about…Cindy?"
"No…I don't like that name! How about…Sophia? No…too predictable!"
"How about something unique? Different! Something that makes you stand out from the crowd!" Blu suggested while trying to think of the perfect name for her.
"Oh I wouldn't worry about it! I'm sure there isn't really a name that I'd be happy with anyway!" The female responded quite sadly, as she sat next to Jewel on the floor.
"I got it!" Blu declared with a bright smile, as he thought of the perfect name for her to use. "Judging by the colour of your feathers, and the unique beauty that they show…how about this for a name…Iris?"
"Iris? Like…the flower?" The female thought about it when he said it. But as she was about to continue talking…the historian himself…decided to explain it in more…shall we say detail?
"It's not only a flower! Iris is a popular name in Ancient Greece, and it is a popular name given to ladies as it is a feminine yet…passionate name! I believe it was in the year of…"
"Oh…SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Alex blurted out in irritation, as he leaned back against the wall. "I swear to god you give me one more History lesson, I am going to ram a pipe so far up your ass that it would make a whistling noise every time you FART!"
"Okay! Okay! Jeez!" Blu rose his wings up in defeat and immediately turned back to a giggling female blue and gold macaw who smiled at Blu warmly. "So? What do you think?"
She placed a wingtip on her chin to think about this name…and it really sparked something inside of her! She absolutely loved it!
"Iris…I love that name! Well then…allow me to introduce myself properly! Hello good sir! My name is Iris! Woooo! Has a great ring to it!" She jumped up and down excitedly and wrapped her wings around Blu in a tight embrace. "Thank you Blu! For giving me an identity!"
"You're welcome…Iris!" The blue macaw male playfully whispered the last part as they broke away from the hug.
Iris smiled at him really warmly…and it did kind of annoy Jewel a little bit! But she did act pretty cool with it! In her own way of course!
"Come here you!" Jewel seductively whispered to Blu, as she grabbed him by the chest feathers and pulled him into a really passionate kiss, moving his wing down to her butt, so that Iris could see what they were doing.
Iris widened her eyes in surprise at this little moment, and decided to turn away to look at Siax and Alex. "I'm sorry but…am I missing something here?"
"Oh don't worry about her! She gets a little horny when she's pregnant!" The burrowing owl female lied, as Blu and Jewel parted from the kiss.
Jewel winked at Blu playfully and pinched him on his butt, making him shiver. "You like that honey?"
"Y-Y-Yeah…wow!" Blu was at a loss for words, so he just sat down against the wall again, and closed his eyes in relaxation. "Wow…"
Jewel then turned around and gave Iris a cocky expression, before sitting back down.
"Okay…let's just sit and relax now guys! We have a long journey ahead of us!" Alex announced as he relaxed next to his wife. "Ahhhhh…did you enjoy our trip? Apart from obviously having to leave early?"
"Yeah! Oh Alex, I'm so proud that my parents loved you! They really loved you!" The burrowing owl female responded with a bright smile.
"Yeah well…maybe it was all the secrets that Blu told him about me that did it!" Alex remarked with a cheeky grin towards Blu, who rolled his eyes and got himself into a position to sleep.
"Was it about the time that you used a stick to scratch the inside of your cloaca?"
"WHAT?!" Blu, Jewel, Fernando and Iris all simultaneously spoke, before bursting into laughter.
"Hey guys! That's not funny!" Alex crossed his wings in annoyance as he started blushing.
"Oops…my bad?" Siax chuckled nervously as Alex then playfully narrowed his eyes at her.
"That's okay…it wasn't that big of a secret! No…kind of on the same lines as…you whipping yourself in the butt when practicing with your whip!"
"Oh my god!" Iris giggled as the four of the them once again burst into laughter.
"Hey! Mine was by accident! Okay then…one time when you got back to the nest, you slipped on the edge of the hollow and fell on a group of angry yellow macaws!" Siax giggled while Alex widened his eyes.
"Hahahahaha! Now that one is funny!" Blu beamed as he rolled on the floor in laughter with Jewel.
"Oh yeah? As funny as you falling off of Jewel three times?!"
Blu immediately stopped laughing and the others all continued to laugh at that secret. Including his wife. "Jewel! How could you be laughing about that?"
"I'm sorry honey! But it was pretty hilarious!" Jewel replied as she wiped away a tear of laughter.
"Oh…you think that's funny do you? Well maybe everyone should know some of YOUR secrets too?" Blu playfully said as Jewel slowly stood up onto her talons.
"Haha I don't even have any secrets…shut up!" Jewel spoke the last part quietly to avid her husband sharing some embarrassing secrets. But that didn't stop him.
"One time, when Jewel was hungry during her first pregnancy, in the middle of the night she ate six to seven sticks and leaves!" Blu blurted out to his friends, who started snickering.
Jewel widened her eyes in horror, and decided to have a little revenge. "One time Blu attempted to do a dance for me when we were in the nest and he fell over his talon and landed head first in the hole of the tree!"
"Oh my god!" Alex laughed hysterically as Siax wrapped her wings around him.
"Jewel was so drunk the night of the wedding that she threw up on a couple of red bellied macaws who were on a date!"
"HEY! It's hard to keep alcohol down!" Jewel whined while rubbing her belly.
"Oh my…hahahaha!" Siax burst into laughter again as she found that one really funny.
"Siax one time made out with Kelly!"
"HEY!" Siax blurted out in annoyance as she pointed her wingtip at her.
"Oh I'm sorry Siax, I couldn't think of any more for Blu!" Jewel apologised quickly while giving her a hug.
"This is gonna be a long flight!" Iris remarked as she leaned up against the wall and closed her eyes to sleep.
Meanwhile…Back In Rio…
In a hollow far away from the samba club, RDJ was currently standing inside this tree hollow with his head in his left wing. While trying to piece together some info that he's struggling with.
"No! No No No! It doesn't make any sense? If Armando is dead then there can't be any links to my brother's murder! Ahhhh…this is useless!" He thought to himself as he angrily threw his bow on the floor.
But that wasn't the only thing on his mind. Lila and RDJ slept together for the first time two days ago, and she told him that she loved him! But he didn't say it back…but he didn't know why?
"Why couldn't I say it? I mean…I do have feelings for her? But is it love? Or is it appreciation that I'm in a relationship?" RDJ spoke to nobody in particular while sighing.
"Erm…knock knock?"
RDJ turned his head around to see who was calling out to him, and his eyes widened in surprise. "Oh my god! Elenor?!"
"Surprise! And I brought Jameson!" The scarlet female greeted him with a warm smile and hugged him tightly. "Wow, still as strong as ever!"
"Thank you! What are you doing here?" He asked her in surprise as he chuckled in amusement. "You look great!"
"Really? Thank you so much!" The scarlet female blushed while staring at his chest. "You are so much more muscular than the last time I saw you?"
"Well…I have been working out?" RDJ joked as he flexed his muscle, causing Elenor to bite her beak and breathed heavily.
"Excuse me guys? I actually have a note here for you RDJ!" Jameson interrupter them and passed the note to him.
"Really? Let's take a look shall we?" Be thought out loud as he read the note in front of them.
After a few seconds had passed, he threw the note aside and angrily glared at the black owl. "Where…did you get this?"
"Beltran gave it to me, he used to be a…"
"An assassin, I know! But why are you giving me this?" RDJ asked a second time as he curled his wing into a fist. "My father…he didn't write this note!"
"What?!" Both of them widened their eyes in surprise, and placed a wing on their heart.
"What do you mean? Beltran told us that your father gave him this note?"
"Guys…Beltran, only met my father once! In Spain on business! My father…didn't know how to read or write! But Beltran did!" He angrily replied as he banged his fist on the wall. "GET OUT! GET THE FUCK OUT!" He shouted in rage as he continued to bang his fist on the wall. "NOW!"
Elenor quickly flew out of there in a flash, because she was scared of the way he was acting…but Jameson stood strong.
"No, RDJ! Tell me why?!"
"Jameson…that note was written by Beltran! He would never have been given a note by my father in the last few years!"
"So…he lied to us? But why?!"
"Because he knew what my father wanted to tell me! So he wrote it in a note so that it looked like it came from my dad!" RDJ replied as he started waving his wingtip. "Beltran kinda figured that I knew it wouldn't be written by my dad! So I guess he's just giving me a heads up?"
"Okay? So why did Elenor have to leave the hollow for this exactly?" Jameson asked feeling quite confused.
"I just wanted to be alone if I'm honest? But I'm glad you decided to stick around!"
"That's what friends are for!" The black owl gave him a high wing, before turning away to leave.
"Hold on Jameson…can I…can I ask you something?" The blue and gold male asked the black owl nervously while dragging his talon on the floor.
"Sure! What's up dude?"
"Basically…Lila and I…kinda…had sex two days ago?" He started off slowly while raising his left eyebrow.
"Oh wow! Good for you guys! How was she?"
"Really good actually! Definitely the best sex I ever had!"
"Nice job my friend! So what's the problem?"
"She told me afterwards that she was in love with me?" He finished that sentence with a scared expression.
"Oh my god! But…But what did you say to her?"
"Noting! She fell asleep, and that was that! But that's not what's bothering me!" RDJ paused as he placed a wing on his head to think about what was going on. "I didn't say it back because…I'm worried that it's too soon?!"
"Too soon? Dude! Me and Kelly fell in love in a day! Blu and Jewel? In a day! Sandro and Leona? In five minutes!"
"Five minu…oh yeah, the night they had!"
"Look…my point is, how do you feel when you are with her?" Jameson asked a serious question while approaching him slowly.
RDJ immediately imagined that Lila was standing in front of him, grasping his wing with hers. Pressing her chest up against his, and kissing him deeply in a loving way.
"Jameson…when I'm with her? I feel…lighter than air! I feel like…a cloud amongst a starry night! My heart races, I'm weak in the knees, my stomach always has butterflies! When I'm with Lila Jameson…I feel…I feel…"
"Go on…say it!" The black owl urged him, and rubbed his wings together.
"I feel…loved!" RDJ finished his sentence…and he paused for a few moments.
For a split second in this moment of time…a huge explosion went off inside of RDJ! Like…something had destroyed the powerful barrier that blocked his emotions for so long! He wasn't even afraid to admit now! Nor was he afraid of saying it!
"I'm in…I'm in love! I'm in love! Jameson! I'm…I AM IN LOVE!" RDJ proudly shouted as he burst out of the hollow at a very fast pace, flying away from a confused black owl.
"WAIT! WAIT! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Jameson called out to him, who managed to hover in mid air to answer his question.
"I HAVE TO FIND LILA JAMESON! BECAUSE I HAVE TO TELL HER! I…LOVE…LILA!"
Well now? Isn't that just lovely? Our friends had luckily managed to get on their flight home to Rio! Keith kind of thought about where to go to find Alex! Fernando finally told Jewel and Siax about his past so that they understand more about him! Iris, is the name chosen for our blue and gold macaw female, who we now know is RDJ's sister!
