Percy

"Hey, Percy?" A girl in front of him asked. She rubbed her hair in between her fingers before tucking it behind her ear. "A-are you free tonight?" The girl was pretty. Percy could admit that. With her doe eyes and perfectly dark skin, she was in fact, beautiful.

Percy looked down at her. Was she being friendly, or flirting?

"Oh, no. I'm sorry. But maybe another time?" He said apologetically, which the girl responded by pouting. But she knew better than to do that so she nodded happily and walked down the school's hallways. He sighed. Was it him, or were more girls coming up to him? If they wanted to be friends with him, they could've asked. Percy would be more than happy to gain yet another friend.

Whistling, he took off in the other direction. It just so happened to be a coincidence that Annabeth was in the room which he passed by. The library, of course. Wait a minute.. What was she doing in there with someone?

He squinted through the windows. There she was, chatting and sitting with some guy at a table. That sparked Percy's curiosity. And oh, gods... The guy was blushing! Were they dating? For private purposes, Percy zoned in on their conversation all while entering the room. What he heard didn't surprise him. Not in the slightest.

"And thats basically the coefficent in this problem. You can chnage the variable to 'X', so..."

"Oh! That's a common misunderstanding. Its actually..."

Annabeth was blabbering on about algebra while the other guy stared at the notebook in front of him. He nodded, and picked his pencil up. He scribbled something down and showed it to her. Annabeth smiled and gave him a thumbs up. Oh, so she was tutoring him. That made sense. But despite that, Percy frowned. She was supposed to be his personal tutor!

With that, Percy left one lingering stare at her figure before leaving the library and to the pool room. He didn't notice Annabeth looking at him just before he exited.

"That's a little on the slow side, but you'll get it!" Percy yelled across the pool at his teamates. They stuck a quick thumbs up before diving back into the crystaline waters. The co-captain, Rin, sat on the edge of the pool taking a break. He stared up at Percy.

"You know, you'll have to start chasing away your fangirls when they keep disturbing practise like this." He nudged his head in the direction where a group of girls sat. "Why do you invite them anyways?"

"Because they ask! Politely i might add," Percy stated offended, putting a hand on his bare chest. A string of goggles was rested around his neck. He huffed looking back at the tiled glossy ground, the squealing of his fans in the near distance.

"Plus, they're not all here for me."

"I'm sure your just saying that to make me feel better."

"Is it working?"

"No."

"Too bad."

"Go fuck yourself." Rin scoffed, but he knew that Percy was actually right this time. He and many members were also on a national level, so people who came to watch them at practise was completely normal. It was just that Percy had a very large amount more of them. Oh wow, so shocking. To be honest, Rin wanted to hate Percy. So, so much. But in reality he just couldn't bring himslef to do so.

Percy was a hard working guy who practised night and day to get where he was now. A good captain, teamate, and an even better friends. He was a good guy to be with in general. Despite the way he acted when he got a little too cocky or full of himself, Percy was a guy you could rely on. That hatred Rin once held for him turned into admiration quite soon. And so they became friends.

His fangirls weren't bad either. Most of them liked and adored his focus towards the sport. They were amazed by how someone could be so... Dedicated. So unbelieveably passionate in something like a sport, no less. So not all of them wanted him for his looks. But that didn't push off the fact that he was absoulutely hot.

"Okay everyone, pack it up!" The team's coach announced. He was a young teacher, maybe in his early twenties. Mr. Takeda. He shoved his glasses up his face before ushering everyone out and to the locker room.

They all looked at him and started getting out of the pool to head on over to the locker rooms. Soon, when they changed and left, Percy was left alone. He had the honor of getting the keys to the huge room, so he locked it up for the night and started heading out. No one was there. No shock.

So he was surprised when he heard muttering when he exited the school.

"Stupid papers.. Damn it." A girls voice said quietly. Percy looked over to see a figure kneeling on the concrete ground, in a desperate search of some papaers in their bag. Then he noticed the familiar blonde head of hair.

Cat like, he snuck up in front of her which she didn't notice and continued to search like a madman. Only when she saw a pair of lean legs did she look up in a frantic haze.

"Oh. Percy." Annabeth went back to pulling papers back in and out of the bag until a satisfied smile reached her face her pulled out a notebook only to shove it back into where it came from.

"That's it? No nice greeting?" Percy asked sarcastically.

"Hey."

He frowned. "You're a lot nicer than when your texting me."

"Well, you're not as annoying in real life than in text as well."

Percy laughed at Annabeth who was starting to get up. She brushed her pants off, and shouldered her bag. "Yeah, I'm going to head home now."

He looked at her starting to walk away, and snapped out from his thoughts. He should say something. "U-uh... Wanna walk home together? Its kinda cold out anyways." Annabeth looked at him startled. But she nodded slowly, not sure of his intentions. Was he being genuinely serious right now? Judging by the soft smile on his face, Annabeth decided he was.

"Sure."

. . .

"So iv'e kinda been wondering," Annabeth started, breaking the awkward silence between the two. "Why do you always work so hard at practise?"

They continued walking along the gravel sidewalk. "What do you mean?"

"Its just that.. You work so hard. Its just a sport, y'know? So why bother?" She asked, tilting her head a bit. Percy grimaced at her question and looked at the ground before him.

"Its not just a club. Or sport, whatever." He said. "Swimming just feels right. Like a second nature of mine, if that makes sense. And I'm not gonna do it only in highschool, but when I graduate too."

"So like," Annabeth looked at him. "The olympics?"

"Exactly!"

"I don't know, that seems too much of a goal for you." When Annabeth saw the offended expression on his face, she quickly reeled back from her response. "Kidding."

"Hm." Percy hummed. They walked for a bit more before Percy started asking questions of his own. "What do you when you graduate?"

"Asking big questions now, are we?"

"Just answer the damn question."

She laughed, a laugh that Percy thought was absolutely perfect. Melodic, no matter how silly it sounded. "Architecture."

Percy thought for a while. That seemed to suit her quite well, actually. But he thought something like a rocket scientist would be a better fit for her. "Thats... Thats cool. It fits you."

"...Thanks."

Soon they reached Annabeth's house. Lights were on, and voices could nearly be heard outside. Something like: 'Give me back the remote!' and, 'It's my turn!' In high pitched sounds, so Percy guessed that whoever was shouting, they were kids. Annabeth winced.

"My brothers." She muttered and ran a hand through her curly hair. "See you around."

"Yup. See you," Percy waved before turning a full 180 and walking towards his apartment.

Percy soaked up the few remaining hours of night. In a few hours per-se, all his fellow classmates in the same hrade as his would be waking up early to head on over to school. Why, you might ask? Well. Since camp was a considerable amount of hours away, they would have to start the journey early to arrive on time. Apparently, SPQR would have to make it earlier. Thank gods he didn't go there.

(a/n- i honestly dont know how far chb is from goode, so im estimating here. pls bear with it lol.)

He tossed and turned in his bed, messing up his comforter even more than it already was. He blinked once, twice, and then.. Darkness. It was nice being asleep. No sounds of your mom calling for you to wake up, or the sound of you alarm clock blaring loudly in your ear. When he did wake up, however, that would soon become a reality for him.

"Percy," Sally pulled the blinds open. Percy expected the bright sun to stream in, but only darkness awaited. He look a look at the clock that hung on his wall.

4:56 AM.

"Five more minutes." He nearly begged, but Sally pulled the comforter off him. Percy shivered and grabbed at nothing in a attempt to search for his one source of warmth and comfort. Nothing.

"Come on, you have to get to school at five thirty!" Sally huffed. Why did he have to get up so early again? Oh right, Camp Half Blood. "You can't be late!

"Okay... I'm coming.." He groaned miserably. Percy trudged himself out of his bed which felt like heaven now, compared to the stiff ass board he slept on last night. He staggered over to the bathroom where he cleaned himself up with a cold shower. It woke him up in the process which was a upgrade too. His duffel bag, that he brung to many of his swimming matches, was stuffed with all the things he needed for camp.

Clothes, toothbrush, towel, pillow, sleeping bag, more things. Percy grabbed it and headed outside his room. Sally had prepared some bacon and eggs for him. The smell wafted itself across the apartment, making Percy's stomach growl loudly.

"You have everything you need, sweetie?" Sally asked in a sugar sweet voice that made him feel warm inside. She never failed to make him feel good.

"Yeah, mom. Thanks."

When Percy finished eating, he gave his mom another quick thanks and snatched his large bag. Sally protested saying that she could drive him, but Percy knew she had to go to work soon. So he gave a hug to his mom and gave a quick goodbye. She gave him a bear hug, saying that he shouldn't get himself into too much trouble. But he knew that was pretty much inevitable.

The walk to school was boring. Barely any cars were on the roads, and it seemed pretty quiet for New York. Percy was a little wary of getting there in the dark, but he soon reached his destination. A crowd of students were already there, talking lively amongst their friends. Percy spotted his own group of friends and joined them.

"Hey!" Grover clapped Percy on the back, a little bit of sunshine in his smile. "You ready?"

"Not really," Percy replied. But he was grinning brightly as well. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Annabeth with her friends. Thalia, Silena, Katie, and a few more others. Clarrise too.

Ugh, Clarrise. Percy hated her guts, partly due to the fact that they knew each other in middle school. She bullied him for a year straight, but dropped it for some reason in highschool. The other part was because she was an annoying pig to him.

"Okay, everyone! I'm sure your all excited, but we need to do a roll call! Everyone pipe down!" A teacher yelled. She started calling names in alphabetical order, to which the students replied with a 'Here!' or 'Present!'. Once she and a few other teachers confirmed that in fact evryone was there, and everyone started heading onto the two busses.

There were assigned seats. Perfectly in order. But for some reason beyond understanding, everyone sat beside their friends and remained there. The teachers didn't bother to stop them at that point. The bus was dimly lit with flourecent lights from under the seats and above overhead. Leather seats in two rows lined the vehicle, and a bathroom in the back could be seen.

The exited chatter only grew when everyone was seated. Some people held their bags, while others put them in the over head compartments. Percy was siting somewhere near the middle but it was more closer to the back than the front. Annabeth was perfectly seated in the back row, much to her demise. She was supposed to be seated in the back! But here she was, a view of everyone from the back. At least Silena and Thalia were there.

Only Grover sat beside Percy. His other friends were away in the other bus, lost in the crowd of students. But that was fine. Grover was plenty of company, if you included the group of girls sitting a little too close for comfort. They giggled and blushed their way, taking glances at Percy every now and then.

The trip was long. That was a way you could put it. Percy fell asleep at one point. Grover complained when he woke up, saying that he 'drooled all over him'.

"That's just nasty."

"Shut up."

The city turned into grassy, calm land, and the sun peeked out from under the white fluffy clouds. Blue and pink stained the sky, giving the scene around them a dreamy filter. It was a stunning sight to see. If Percy could choose a life in the city or a calm life like this, he would choose the latter with zero hesitation. Gods, could he graduate sooner already?

Everyone was tired, so it was quiet other than the soft snores that came from students. People were on their phones, hugging pillows, and eating snacks. Percy could sure use one.

And then they were there. The busses stoped right at the foot of a grassy hill. A pine tree awaited at the top, and the smell of strawberries was strong. A man that had a brown scruffy beard and a kind face also was waiting at. He shook hands with the teachers and turned to the students. Everyone was a bit groggy still.

"Welcome to Camp Half Blood!" He said, a soft and warm smile etched on his face.
