Hi Humans…
Firstly, I just want to apologise because I haven't written anything since December last year! I've gotten some reviews from some lovely people suggesting that I do option B from last chapter, so option B it is! But I also got some great quidditch ideas, so Robin's going to be late for quidditch practice and the others are going to come and watch him get told off by the captain, Daisy Woodborough. I just want to say thanks to everyone who has reviewed and followed my stories, because a while ago I didn't really want to write anything, but then I decided to carry on because at least a couple of people like this strange thing, and those people deserve to know what my demented imagination is coming up with. Oh, P.S, Robin is ADHD as a side effect of his peculiarity, and Victor is gay because I don't write enough LGBTQ+ characters, just so ya know. Anyway, I'm going to stop blabbing and actually write this chapter! Please review and enjoy!
Chapter eight
Olive's first Saturday morning at Hogwarts started with her being turfed out of her bed by someone with two sets of ears.
"What in Bird's name was that for?" they pyromancer grumbled as Rosa helped her up off the floor.
"Get dressed, I want to go wake the boys up."
"But won't the stairs just turn into a slide?" Fiona asked. She, Claire and Bronwyn were already up.
"Nah, apparently the Hogwarts Founders thought girls were more trustworthy than boys."
Emma giggled, already wearing her blue jeans and a white Mario-Kart T-shirt with one of Jake's hoodies tied around her waist. Rosa and Olive got dressed into black jeans and an oversized purple jumper and a light pink pinafore dress with grey leggings and a grey long-sleeve t-shirt, respectively. About three and a half minutes later, Miss Peregrine, recently awoken and turned back to human form, was witness to her adopted daughters creeping towards the door to the boys' dormitory, pillows in hand, ready to throw them at their soon to be very disgruntled brothers (sort of).
"Where were you last night anyway?" Rosa asked Victor a while later as Robin searched for his broom.
"Fell asleep." He replied. "What took you and Robin so long in detention anyway? Assuming you were in detention the whole time, that is."
Rosa blushed but ignored her siblings' giggling and nudging. "We were doing lines."
"And?" Emma prompted, raising an eyebrow.
Rosa sighed and showed them her hand, where a words-shaped scab was forming. She couldn't see him, but Rosa was sure even Millard's mouth had dropped open. "Umbridge has magic quills that cut into your hand as you write. That's what happens in her detentions."
There was a crack and Victor lifted his hand off the arm of the chair sheepishly. "Sorry…"
"That can't be allowed!" Horace exclaimed. "Why doesn't your headmaster fire her?"
"She's from the Ministry of Magic." Robin said, Nimbus 2000 over his shoulder and clad in yellow and black quidditch robes. He wasn't wearing his shoes, but Daisy let him go barefoot anyway. "Dumbledore can't get rid of her. She has to stay in the staff, not letting us do any real magic and giving detentions if you breathe too loudly."
Miss Peregrine came over and picked Olly and Ozzy up. "Breakfast time everyone. We need to get some food before Robin's quidditch practice."
Rosa hooked her arm through Robin's and the kids filed out. Olive, Enoch and Emma were last. It could have been a coincidence that Olive tripped over Emma's foot, leaving a blushing Enoch to help her up, but Jake, Rosa and Robin were giggling a little too hard as their airy friend caught up with them for that to be the case.
