Chapter VII- Nightmares and Daydreams

"A pop quiz!" The students yelled in shock at this news, Korra bangs her head on the desk. "Now, hold on now," Professor Wizgiz says as the students were groaning or complaining. "You all should have been studying for this."

Korra bangs her head repeatedly.

"Now the quiz is relatively easy and to test your skills on transforming into anything you wish."

"Oh, that isn't too bad." Wan glances at Korra, who is already disappointed about her last quiz in this class.

After classes, the team met up back in their dorms, "I can't believe we have another quiz." Korra complains, pacing around while Wan and Amy play Pai Sho. "Korra, you're overreacting, frankly the quiz isn't going to be hard." Wan moves his piece, "I win." Amy finishes the game quickly, Wan glances at the board. "No way in the-" Wan slumps on the couch,

Kaiyo laughs at Wan losing at Pai Sho, "Wow, guess you're not the greatest Pai Sho player after all-." Kaiyo continues to stretch in her drawing book. She is then met with a pink pillow that was thrown across the room and into her face. Korra scoffs, "Is no one listening to me?"

"Of course we are," Hoku says, still focused on her astrology, Korra slumps at this. "Whatever," She waves her hand in defeat, "I'm going to bed."

In cloud tower, the two witches summoned their vacuum crystals, they raised them, summoning a nightmare creature. The Nightmare Gargoyle was small and had red beady eyes as its skin was as gray as wilted flowers. The witch duo smirks at each other and then laughs as their little gremlin escapes.

"This should work well." Raelynn grin becomes sinister rather quickly.

Late at night in the Changix's dorm room, Kaiyo twists and turns in her dream. She clenched her pillow, "No. no," she mutters in her sleep. The Gargoyle crept up in her face, feeding on her nightmare, transforming into its second form, appearing more wolf shape with spikes. It runs off as Kaiyo screams, jerking up from her bed. Hoku woke up and looks at her roommate who was screaming, "Kaiyo, is everything alright?" Hoku runs to her side.

The rest of the team opens up the door. Wan quickly ran to his younger sister, "Sis, are you okay?" Wan runs her back, Kaiyo shakes her head, "No, it was a nightmare, an awful nightmare. I don't remember, but I felt like something feeding off of energy."

"Okay, I think I'm going back to bed." Amy yarns, stretching her head. Wan shakes his head, "No, I think Kaiyo felt something more."

"She had a nightmare, Wan. Nothing strange about that." Logan sighs. "Yeah, but, if you need anything Kaiyo, just call us." Korra rubs the girl's back.

The group went back to sleep. This time Hoku is the target. She groans in her sleep, thinking about losing her parents. "No." She cries out. The creature absorbs more energy from her, transforming even bigger and with one eye, having a snake-like appearance. It moves on to its next target, Logan, absorbing his negative energy from the nightmare. He and Hoku screamed, waking up.

The rest of the changix team heard the noise. room "Are you okay?' Kaiyo says. Hoku rubs her head, "Yeah, I feel drained.

"Me too," Logan adds. "Okay, something isn't right." Amy speaks up, "Think about it, the weird noises, the dreams." She points out, "Kaiyo had a point about something draining energy."

"I agree, but what is it?" Hoku held her heart, "One way to find out." Kaiyo pulls out her phone and starts recording. "Since whatever it is got me, Logan, and Hoku. Its targets are going to be whoever is remaining. So we record and once we wake up, we catch it."

The team nods in sync. The group went back to bed, except the remaining three were on high alert. The nightmare beast loomed over Amy, whose eyes are wide open. She got up from her bed and used her crystal around her bedroom to fire at the creature. Amy ran out of the room, and so did Korra. The rest is wide awake.

"Magic Winx!" The team called out, transforming into their fairy forms. Kaiyo attacks first with energy disks, the monster roars, and retreats going through the walls. The changix team quickly flew after it. They attacked with everything they got. "Starlight flare." Hoku flies up, delivering the bright light of a star to the beast. "Energy shock wave!" Kaiyo attacks, sending pink energy waves to try and subdue it.

Wan clasped his hands, "Elemental storm!" he calls out as the four elements attack the beast. Logan blows a powerful breath that freezes it all together. Logan flew mid-air, "I think we got it." He whispers.

The ice cracked, and the creature burst forward, sending the fairies flying back. "That's it!" Korra punches her palms and raises her hands, "FIRE SPEAR!" Korra's spear appears in her hands, consumed by fire. She threw it, and it missed its target. The spear landed on the ground and dissipated. "Fuck!"

The monster once again leaves, the club chases it downstairs into the open courtyard. It appears right in front of them. Amy rose a crystal shield to protect her team. Kaiyo rose pink energy ribbons that wrapped around the beast.

"Now!" Kaiyo screams, Hoku and Wan summon their plasma balls and attack. The creature summoned his attacks by mouth. The two move out of the way, while Hoku pulls out a star shield. Korra and Logan pull out their attack from behind.

"Frostbite!"

"Water Blast!"

Logan at the sight of the beast fell, still remembering his nightmare. So did Hoku and others. "What the hell? It's like we're all exhausted" Korra says.

"Well, I'm not sure about that. Looks to me you guys need more." Raelynn and Sarah flew above them. "You guys!" Wan stood up, clenching his fists.

"Good to see you all, now goodbye!" Raelynn blasts a dark spell at Wan, but Kaiyo stepped up and threw an energy shield. "You think it's that easy!?" Kaiyo smirks.

Sarah attacked Korra, who glares, "Tornado!" Korra summons, getting the witch off guard. When Korra turned, Amy and Hoku attacked as well. The witches began to overpower the fairies, "What are you a bunch of losers?" Sarah taunts.

"It's the Changix Club to you!" Kaiyo screams, then The Headmistress teleports in her bedclothes, "What's all the ruckus about?" Faragonda looks at the Changix team and the two witches. "Now what are you two doing to my students?"

The team got up slowly, and with a combined effort, the monster vanished. The duo vanished as well, not wanting to have their plan exposed too easily.

Fargonda landed in front of the club, "Can someone explain what has happened here?"

Korra glances at Wan, "Ugh, honestly, no." Korra shrugs. "Expect that monster was attacking us for zero reasons!" Kaiyo throws her hands out.

"And that," Korra adds to Kaiyo's comment. "Well, I'm just glad you all are alright. I hope Miss. Griffin would know what happened here tonight."

The witch duo walked back to cloud tower, stumping in their tracks.

"Curses!" Sarah yells, "We almost had it!"

"I know, but we'll get them next time… hopefully." Raelynn walks up to the front then seeing the headmistress, "You stupid girls!" She shouts, showing an image of her head. The two witches glare at the floating head.

"You disappointed me, the top of your class and you both did that pathetic excuse of a curse!? I had to be HUMILIATED by hearing my Gerzelda's ranting!"

"Sorry, it won't happen again." Raelynn growls, "It won't. Now go inside." The spell vanished, Raelynn is fuming. "Curse them little fairies!' Her red eyes glowed, Sarah, crossed her arms.

The morning sun rose above the school of fairies. Wan and Korra are in class, as usual, then Miss. Grizelda walks into their classroom, "Wan and Korra, Ms. Faragonda would like to speak to you both."

Korra and Wan glanced at each other with newfound anxiety. They both led to the headmistress's office. The room was wide and open with a high ceiling, full of bookshelves. The desk in front of the window.

Wan and Korra sat down on the red chairs. "Ma'am we are so sorry about what had happened last night." Wan is quick to apologize.

"It's alright, Wan. Don't worry you two aren't in trouble, I'm surprised you both kept out of it for this long. Master Tenzin was very clear that you two are very rebellious."

Korra's eyes widened, "Tenzin!? He told you about us?"

The headmistress smiles softly, "Indeed he has, and so have your other elemental masters. I kept very close tabs on you both since you two were four. I presumed you probably don't even remember me."

"My question is why?" Wan asks softly, not meaning to be disrespectful. "I was friends with the Dual Avatars before you, Avatar Aang and Avatar Kotone." Faragonda explains with a smile, "They were a powerful duo, both in magic and bending. However, I wanted to ask you both a question. Have you both ever contacted the past lives before you"

Korra looks down, "We never really had any kind of spiritual stuff. Sure airbending was okay to grasp, but connecting with past lives?" Korra sticks out her tongue, "Nothing."

"I see, so you both still need spiritual training."

"Well, we thought it would be easier in Alfea because Magic and spirituality kinda work in a way."

"That is true, however, I want you both to meditate. You both have more power than you realize. Both of your midterm simulation scores were high, but I feel you have untapped potential."

Wan and Korra went back to their dorm only to hear the team in worry, "Did we get in trouble?" Kaiyo bites her nails.

"What did she say?" Hoku adds, "Are we expelled?"

"What, no." Korra sighs, "I'll make some tea."

The changix team sat on chairs and sofas around a coffee table. "See, me and Wan have been struggling with the spiritual aspect of our power."

"Oh, so she basically said work on that." Hoku sips some warm tea. "Well yeah, but also she said, you have more power than you realize," Korra adds placing the cup down.

"Wow, you guys got called to her office just to talk?" Logan sips his tea, using his magic to make it a little colder.

Wan nods, "She was good friends with Aang and Kotone, I guess that's why she was keeping tabs on us." He explains further.

Back in Faragonda's office, she was in deep thought, now worried about those witches that attacked the Dual avatars and their friends. Something told her they are going to come back. She closes her eyes, a part of her thinks it's the Red Lotus. She has seen those witches before, either their The Red Lotus or they have their aim.

She needed to keep a closer eye on the Avatar duo. "Oh, Aang and Kotone," she whispers softly.
