Ch. 8 The Final Act Starts

You know what time it is, it is time for another new chapter in this story. I hope you all enjoyed the two previous chapters in which Izuku got to talk with the other successors and seeing his growth from a kid until now.

We also got to see the other successors approving of Izuku's resolve wanting to defeat the bad guys but also wanting to try and save Tomura from the darkness and the others approved of him. We got to see the second and third users but we do not know their names nor do we know what their quirks or their story.

The chapter you are about to read will have emotions from all the characters involved and seeing what Izuku's decision will be going forward now that he knows Tomura and All For One are after him.

We will also see the revelation of Izuku and Pony's relationship to his friends and things may or may not go smoothly, you will just have to find out as you read. I hope you are ready a major shift from this point on.

I will catch back up with you at the end of this chapter to share my thoughts and ideas on this chapter and on this story going forward. Hope you enjoy and let us start the chapter.

We are once again in Izuku's hospital room with All Might and Pony watching over him and waiting for him to wake up. All Might shares with Izuku and Pony "it's not words exactly, more like feelings flowing from you." All Might states "your chat with the predecessors, the truths about One For All, and my master's inner conflict, I can only sense these things faintly but I feel them flowing into me, what your quirkless self has to say, though not exactly in words." Pony smiles and says "he has come a long way from where he was at the start of the school year."

All Might and Pony hear some knocks on the door wondering who that could be and All Might gets up to answer the door and sees Hawks and Best Jeanist, wondering what they could want. Hawks says "pleased to meet you All Might." Hawks also says "they say I'm the kind of man who moves a little to fast, so I've sped over here in a hurry with questions for you."

Best Jeanist asks "is Midoriya in bad shape" to which All Might says "no, he's okay. Bound to wake up shortly, how can I help you Hawks?" Hawks tells him "this concerns One For All and Midoriya." Hawks goes on to tell All Might "when sone of the heroes who were part of the big battle quit their jobs, they told the media what they heard, and word's been spreading ever since." "Endeavor just informed me that Shigaraki was going after Midoriya."

"maybe someone misspoke or misheard, but even if this intel is wrong, it's worth filling in the gaps. Because going forward, it won't just be villains were fighting, we're up against society as well." All Might recalls what he told Midoriya once and that was "this secret is all that prevents society from falling into chaos. It's also meant to protect you understand."

All Might thinks and says "I suppose we're way past this point already, the ones who won't give up huh." "we need privacy, follow me and I'll tell you everything."

While this is happening, Uraraka, Iida, and Jiro decided to go and check on Midoriya and they are surprised to see Pony siting by Izuku's bedside and are wondering why she is here. Uraraka asks Pony what are you doing in Izuku's room" and then Iida asks why are you not checking on your classmates."

Pony looks up and answers them one at a time and does this while still holding Izuku's hand to give her strength to get through this conversation. She decides to answer Iida first because that will be the easiest conversation that she will have today. "I have already checked on my classmates before I came to check on Izuku and they are doing fine." The other three are shocked at the use of Izuku's first name by Pony and Jiro starts to put the pieces together, but wants Pony to say what is going on.

Uraraka sees Pony holding Izuku's hand and again tells her "why are you sitting by Deku's bedside, why are you holding his hand, and why did you call him by his first name?" Pony looks at her says "why wouldn't I be here with my boyfriend during this difficult time" and the other three are shocked to hear Pony call Izuku her boyfriend but none more so than Uraraka.

Iida says to Pony "you and Midoriya are dating each other" to which Pony tells him "yes." Iida is shocked at the revelation but Jiro speaks up and asks "how long have you two known each other and how long have you two been together?" Pony tells Jiro "we have known each other since the first day of school when we decided to study together at the library and he has been helping me learn English." "we have been together since the end of the battle at Kamino Ward."

Uraraka is trying not to cry at this point because she has realized that she has lost her chance to be with Deku and all because she decided to hold back her feelings for him so she can focus on becoming a hero. Uraraka then asks Pony "why didn't you two say something before this" to which Pony tells her "we were going to tell everyone but the war happened and we lost our chance. We also knew our classes didn't like each other, so that made things harder than it needed to be."

The three understand that and why they kept it a secret. Jiro tells Pony "congratulations you tow and hope you two have a long and happy relationship" to which Pony tells her "thank you." Iida speaks up next and says "I am frustrated that you two kept this secret from us" to which Pony says sorry. Iida then speaks up next and says "have you two been on your best behavior at school with your relationship and do you truly care for him?" Pony then says "we have been mindful of PDA at school with our relationship and also I do care for him a great deal." Iida then says "that is all that matters and hope you two have a successful relationship."

Uraraka speaks up next and says "do you love him" and Pony answers her with all her heart and says with full conviction "I truly love him with all my heart." Urarak then says "I hope you two are happy together and you better take care of him or you'll hear from me." Pony says "I wll stand by him forever and I will take care of him and love him with all my heart." The three friends are happy for the two but Pony can tell that Uraraka is still hurting and hope she will be fine over time. The four sit around Izuku's bed and Pony tells them stories of how the two met, how they became friends, and how their love blossomed.

We then transition to U.A. where we are in the principal's office and we see Nezu talking with someone on the phone from the government. Nezu tells the person on the phone "yes, we'll be relying on the government's cooperation." "this is a request from an alumnus, so of course we'll respond right away."

Thre days have passed but the panic showed no signs of slowing dying down. The unease steadily spread but not everyone was out for blood. The top three heroes are at a press conference answering questions from the media with everything that has happened and all the secrets that were revealed.

They wanted heroes to be shining pillars of decency, and to insist they'd done nothing wrong amid the unease. They wanted reassurance. More than anything, the public needed something to cling to. Endeavor tells the media and says "he spoke the truth, and for what I've done, I cannot apologize enough." Endeavor spoke freely and openly about his and his family's sickening past.

Different people across Japan are watching the press conference and says whoa, it's all over for that dude. How terrible, man, I was on that guy's side but yeesh, he shoulda just said it was all a bunch of lies. The press in outrage say it all true you say, but the accusation about Hawks and Best Jeanist clearly wasn't.

Hawks then tells the press "my supposed assassination of Best Jeanist was to infiltrate the enemy ranks, but that doesn't negate the rest of the accusations." "The bit about my father and the part about me killing a fleeing villain were both true." "I did indeed conceal the details about my father and for that I apologize."

"as for the matter of Bubaigawara, I felt I was left with no choice at the time. If he had been allowed to wield his quirk freely, we would be looking at more widespread death and destruction." "I couldn't find a proper way to help him atone for his crimes and that is truly a shame. It speaks to my lack of character."

A female reporter stands up and says "a question if I may? During Gigantomachia's rampage, my other was horribly wounded." "you saying it's all true, sorry isn't going to change this state of affairs. Do you have the slightest idea how many people lost their homes in just under a week, how can you stand there pretending it's all over, like what's done is done."

She continues on her rant with "sure villains are directly to blame, but your mistakes caused all this and none of your faces show you understand that." Endeavor tells her "if we showed you our pain and exhaustion and tears, would that somehow fix everything?" She start with wha- but the uproar of everyone else silence her as they say obviously not, you need to put society at ease, you need to take down every last villain, that's how.

She starts with that's how but Endeavor cuts he off and tells her "you're exactly right, that's how I as Endeavor can atone." Best Jeanist speaks up and says "yet with our ranks shrinking, heroes are ill-equipped to protect the masses at large. Therefore we hope to reduce the overall sphere, that requires our protection." The people once again asks what, what does that mean? Best Jeanist says "on the heels of discussion with the Government, from today forward U.A. High School and other hero programs will put their expansive, well secured campuses to use as designated evacuation shelters." We see Mitsuki and Inko moving their stuff to the U.A, dorms where they will be staying to keep them safe.

Best Jeanist continues on by saying "the students' parents have already begun the process of taking shelter." The people once again shout with no path forward, you just expect people to accept living in shelters. Endeavor speaks up and says "this is all for finding a path forward." Endeavor continues with "your criticism and doubts, direct them all at me, not at the people who'll be putting their lives on the front line, direct them all at me." "I want all of you to just watch me."

The other heroes are watching this press conference and are inspired to get back up and decide to take the fight back against the villains to pay them back for they what they did to their fellow pro heroes and friends. The heroes we see are Ryukyu, Wash, Eraserhead, Miruko, and Kamui Woods. Yes, the heroes were put through a sieve, and if you define hero as someone the people look up to and count on, then the heroes really did vanish that day. And yet, some were still prepared to stand up and fight.

Dabi has a sickening smile on his face while he watches this and says "so I didn't go far enough, heh heh." When Endeavor was asked about One For All, he replied "I don't know" so that Deku and All Might wouldn't have targets on their backs.

We arrive at U.A. campus and focus on the 1-A dorms and the 1-B dorms where they are getting letters from Izuku and Pony. Izuku left letters to all his friends in 1-A to tell them the truth about his quirk, that it came from All Might, and that All For One and Shigaraki are after him. Pony left all her friends a letter saying that for unknown reasons, I am leaving to help support my boyfriend Izuku.

Mineta runs into the lobby and says "hey guys, this is nuts, Midoriya left a letter on my door." Kaminari says "you got one too" to which Shoji says "what is going on with him." All For One, so the villains are after him. That Midoriya, what's the big idea huh! Uraraka says "that dummy."

But if you define a hero as someone willing to suffer in silence, then who will be there for them. it is now April and we see Izuku and Pony standing on a cliff overlooking the city with serious looks. Izuku says "a giant villain" to which Pony says "I guess it is time for us to make our move." Izuku and Pony hold hands ready to face danger head on together. Deku and Pony left the Hero Academy.

We have reached the end of another thrilling chapter in this story and what a chapter this was. We go from the heroes facing criticism from the press, to standing up and wanting to move forward. The other heroes are ready to stand back up and move again.

Hawks has learned the truth about One For All, his friends have learned about Izuku and Pony being in a relationship and what a revelation that was in that moment in this story. Uraraka took it the hardest because of her feelings for Izuku and now what will happen going forward with those three.

We see Pony and Izuku leaving motes for their friends telling them that they are leaving because of All For One and Shigarki. Pony telling her friends that she and Izuku are dating, and Izuku telling his friends the truth about his quirk.
