Chapter eight:

Misa sends a message to L about Light's plan to us a TV host to help spread the word of Kira. She finishes the message then flops down backwards onto her hotel bed. She closes her eyes holding her phone close to her chest in a slightly dreamy state as she starts to wonder if she happens to be dreaming. She is actually working with the world greatest detective on a case. She is actually in contact with the man that she has dreamed about talking to for so long. She finds a slight blush come across her face as she brings up the image of how the man looks in her head. She remembers the way that he does things including putting his thumb against his lip almost as if doing so in thought.

Who knew that the world's greatest detective was really so adorable.

Misa quickly sits up opening her eyes as she blushes heavily. Her hands quickly falling to rest on the bed including the hand that happens to be holding her phone. Did she really think about how adorable the man she has just met is? She drops her phone to her bed and places her hands on her warm blushing cheeks. She finds that she just can't help it. As her heart flutters in her chest just thinking about the man. She is in love.

Hitoshi Demegawa stands tall as he smiles widely holding the letter from the package that he had received. "Sakura TV has been selected to share the messages of Kira to the world." His smile turns into a smirk after saying this. "Perfect. We will rake in so many views and our station will gather up so much money from this." He starts with a slight chuckle at the very thought of this that turns into loud chuckling as he is sitting at his desk alone in his office. His voice carrying throughout said office.

Soichiro sighs softly as he plops down to sit on the bed of his room at the headquarters. He truly feels really tired as he had been working so hard for so long. "I wonder what Kira's next move will be." He talks to himself and he settles down to get some rest. He finds himself falling asleep rather quickly.

The next day everyone is working very hard when Soichiro happens to get a text.

Soichiro pulls out his phone pausing in his review of the Kira case. He finds that it is from his wife. He checks the message, out of the corner of his eye his son Light turns to look at him as though curious about what the message is, hoping that everything is okay back at home.

Turn on Sakura TV right now. Something big is going on there right at this very moment.

Soichiro looks up from the message. He puts his phone down then quickly turns on the Sakura TV channel getting everyone's attention as the station plays.

"Welcome to Kira's kingdom!" Demegawa's loud voice seems to echo throughout the main investigation room of the headquarters.

No one in the room dares to say anything just yet as they listen to what the TV station has to say further.

"We are here to present you with new information about Kira. And to share the great Kira's words to all of our viewers!" Demegawa continues raising his hands almost as if holding power within them. His smile wide on his face as he continues on with the speech that he is giving. "Kira is our God and we should praise the words that come from this divine human. Kira is here to rid our world of the evil that plagues and taints the world that we live in. For only the good shall continue forth and raise this world to new heights! Do not fear Kira for he shall eradicate those who have thrown this world into a dark time. Only great times are ahead. And we here at Sakura TV will continue to spread our new God's word! So stay tuned for more about our savior Kira!"

Light turns to look to L rather curious about what the raven haired man is happening to think about this turn of events. He ends up finding the great detective's face to be a bit hard to read, though there has always been trouble on that end of things as the man manages to hide things pretty well, so he can't tell what it is that the other happens to be thinking. He does notice the other have his thumb resting upon his bottom lip as though in slight thought in his own head. He turns away to look to the others deciding to not bother L right now. He doesn't want to be seen as too eager to know what the other happens to be thinking about all of this. He instead scans what the others are thinking which is so much more clearer than the man that is sitting next to him.

They are all clearly thinking that this is not a good development in the case at all.

Light glances down trying to seem worried about this turn of events. His eyes move side to side as he thinks things over. Though it is all a fake as he is just trying to seem like he is trying to figure out what they should do next.

"They are truly playing God. And they plan to get more followers to try to make other people believe that they truly are. Even though they're nothing more than killers." L mentions in which everyone turns to look to him though he doesn't look at them instead focusing on the computer screen that is in front of him.

"They'll probably keep making moves like this until we can catch them." Matsuda brings up with a clearly worried tone in his voice about how things are turning out. He glances down and taps the tip of his shoe where his toes are against the ground. "How far do these two think that they can go with this?" He mainly questions to himself though he had spoken loud enough for the others to be able to hear his question about all of this.

"This could play into our favour." Ide mentions gaining attention to him as everyone listens to what he has to say. "Maybe the two Kiras are getting even more cocky about all of this." He then looks around to the face of everyone in the room before he continues on not looking at anyone in particular. "I mean the cockier that they get about everything then the more likely that they are going to end up messing up." He points out and almost all, except for L and Light, nod their heads mummering in agreement with the others thoughts on this.

"It is possible." L speaks quieting everyone down immediately to really listen to what he has to say. "However we should also be prepared if they don't make a mistake that reveals too much. I will have Watari place someone to monitor at the TV studio. For now we will work with what we have." He types the message to the older gentleman who happens to be preparing some food for everyone currently.

Everyone else turns away and goes back to work to try to figure out as much as they can with the information that they have.

By the time that it is for everyone to get some rest comes around the others begin to leave with L remaining in the main room.

Light pauses and glances back to the raven haired detective. "You sure you don't want to come rest with us tonight?" He brings up to show worry over the leader of the group's health. "You must be pretty tired." He doesn't notice his father pause and turn back to look to the two at hearing his own son's offer to the raven.

"I have some work to do on a few other cases that I am also working on." L informs Light and turns to him meeting his eyes. "Thank you for the offer though. You go get some rest with the others so that you are ready for another day of hard work. I know you all need it. I will be alright."

"Well, okay then. If you say so." Light turns away and meets his father's eyes for a moment before the two of them head off to go to bed for the night, as it is pretty late.

Now all alone in the main room L pulls out his phone hoping to get into contact with a certain someone. He can't help a smile come to his lips as he pictures Misa in his head. He sees that she is rather intelligent and now they are secretly working together behind everyone's backs, especially behind Light Yagami's back. He tries to push away the feelings within him though he can still feel the warmth in his chest thinking about this. Maybe he actually hasn't gotten over his crush over the blonde haired woman like he had thought he had.
