Song

From the moment he hears the vagabond mention her name, Orpheus feels a song fill his heart when he looks at Eurydice. Even her name has a musical lilt to it, and he can already imagine the melodies and lyrics that want to spring fully-formed from his hands and mouth.

Screwing up his courage, he goes to introduce himself, taking a bended knee. Truth be told, Orpheus feels inadequate next to her—a survivor who knows how to scrounge and wheel and deal, while he's been content to sing all year long, trusting in Lady Persephone and the occasional handout from Hermes to provide.

But just looking at Eurydice makes him want to sing, to make the world beautiful and soft for the girl who must have gone through such hardships.

With his music and lyre to guide him, Orpheus sings for Eurydice, of love gone wrong—and right.
