Ruby's explanation was surprisingly tame, her overall enthusiasm for weapons nonwithstanding.

"Weapons are a part of us!" She said, " We put ourselves into them when we make them, and they become an extension of ourselves. Our weapons are important to us, so our choices about their design can speak volumes about us!" Her eager and enthusiastic flailing only served to further drive this point home. Ruby then zipped over to the bookshelf in a flurry of rose petals and took a binder down. On the cover was a silver rose crest, below it was the title "Rose's all the World's Hunter Weapons, By S. Rose". Beneath S. Rose was written in red pencil, "And R. Rose".

Ruby's excitement did not wane as she plonked the binder down on the cleaning bench.

"My mom started to draw all the weapons she came across when she started at Beacon."

Ruby then paged through for awhile, as I saw odd creations that apparently served as weapons. One, and odd Thermos-flask staff, belonging to a B. Oobleck. Another was a Blunderaxe (How is that even effective) belonging to a P. Port. Ruby then found the page she was looking for and pointed to it.

"This is Harbinger, Uncle Qrow's sword-shotgun-scythe, One of the first weapons Mom drew."

"I am familiar with Harbinger," said I. "Truly an impressive weapon especially in the hands of a master such as Qrow." I thought for a moment, wondering if Ruby could help me remember my past. "How much can you tell about a person by simply looking at their weapon?"

At this, Ruby looked downcast. She pouted and began to tap her index fingers together in front of her face. Embarrassed, she said,

"Weapons I understand, people... not so much..."

She paused for a moment, I hoped that she couldn't see how disappointed I was.

"But... I think those two ships are important to you. Perhaps Dad, Uncle Qrow or Yang will have more ideas."

I gave Ruby a weak smile.

We continued to page through the binder, Ruby excitedly explaining many weapons to me. I eventually flipped to a tab-page marked with an odd snowflake-like crest.

"Ooh! these are the weapons Mom made for Papa Schnee!" Ruby exclaimed.

"Papa Schnee?" I asked.

"Nicholas 'Papa' Schnee would sponsor weaponbuilding competitions. I don't remember him, But Dad said that Papa was a kind and wonderful man who wanted nothing more that to use the fortune he made mining Dust to help all of Remament. His waponsmithing contests were the Vytal Festival of weaponcrafting. I wish I could compete in one.." Ruby explained, but by the end she looked sad.

"I think you would do well in such a contest." I said. Ruby beamed at me, her joy once more was infectious. "When is the next one?"

Ruby's face fell at this.

"There hasn't been one since Papa Schnee died. His daughter's husband cancelled them."

We continued to page through that section, seeing plenty of elegant weapons. The weapons in this section of the binder often featured blue, white and silver as their colors.

I was looking at a beautifully elegant rapier that was fitted with a revolver cylinder, 'To imbue the blade with the properties of the selected Dust' was the note beside it. Before I could think on it more or ask Ruby about it heavy footsteps sounded from the stairway.

Both Ruby and I turned and looked to the entrance of her shop to see Tai entering.

"Alright girls," he said. "I know it is a little earlier than usual, Ruby, but we need to figure out where Grom is going to sleep." He then wandered to a cupboard under the stairs and retrieved a large bundle.

"Grom, Qrow and I were talking about it and we have a few ideas. lets head back upstairs."

Tai proceeded up the stairs and I started to follow him, pausing only to adjust 'Ocean's Wrath' and my cartridge box. Ruby dashed over to the bookshelf and returned the binder to it.

Ruby, Tai and I regrouped in the dining area with Qrow.

"Grom." said Qrow. "Tai and I have talked about it, I called my boss, and we all think you might be with us for quite some time, so we came up with a few options for sleeping arrangements."

I looked at him, mildly confused.

Qrow continued. "First, you could take over the couch. But your sleep will be cut short by Mr. Early Bird Tai over there." Qrow grumbled.

I quirked an eyebrow at the interaction between the teammates. The two older men, for as much as the grumbled and messed with each other, were quite close freinds.

"Next you could take the air mattress in the living room, a bit more comfortable but you will still be woke up at an ungodly hour."

"Just because I get up before noon on my days off dosen't make me weird." Tai muttered.

Ruby just barely supressed a laugh at that.

"Finally," Tai said. "Grom would have the air mattress, but it would be in Ruby and Yang's room."

Ruby's eyes lit up at this.

"Only if Ruby is ok with it, Yang seems to feel that you are another younger sister for her already and is ok with you staying in their room." Tai finished.

"It's fine with me!" exclaimed Ruby. "Yang and I will take good care of you, Grom!"

I blushed deeply and muttered, "Thank you, all of you. Your kindness is so much more than I deserve."

"Right, off to bed with you, girls. Scram, Tai and I have things to discuss." Said Qrow.

Ruby gathered the bundle that Tai had brought up from the cellar and we headed up to what had just became our room.
