[To the most honored Lord Jon Arryn, Warden of the East and Lord Hand of the Kingdoms..

My dear Lord Uncle,

my husband and I would like to thank you for helping our dearest niece Anna, my husband's heir, in finding a new husband.

We are certainly humbled that you have thought about our niece's well-being and about the continuation of my husband's family in ruling over the lovely Island of The Paps, but I have to admit that neither my husband, nor our niece, nor I myself are particularly happy about the potential groom.

Of course, none of us would ever dare to imply that you, my dear and most honored Uncle, would not think about the best for us as your loyal Lords and Ladies, but I still would like to ask you, if you are really sure that the heiress of The Paps has not better marriage options than Lord Petyr Baelish?

Not that we are not thankful for the potential groom's "dowry" and not that we are thinking badly about his lineage, certainly not, for if you recommend him, then his lineage and House is surely and most certainly noble enough already.

It is just that our beloved niece would surely deserve a more, ahem "substantial" husband by her side.

Surely the young Lord Baelish might be a smart young man and he has good enough blood, especially from his dear late Mother's side, but I must sadly tell you, my most honored Uncle and Lord, that the young Lord Baelish is not really a good match to the heiress of The Paps, for he is neither known for knightly abilities nor for handling Estates such as those of ours here.

And thus, my husband and I would like to ask you for a different groom for our beloved niece, one who would be more fitting for such a Lady and such an heritage.

With most sincere humbleness and gratitude, I remain your loving and adoring niece

Alysanne, Lady Elesham of The Paps

To Lord Ennis Elesham and Lady Alysanne Elesham

The marriage between Lady Anne of the House Elesham, heiress of The Paps and Lord Petyr Baelish of the small Finger has been decided by the Lord of the Vale and Lord Hand, Jon Arryn and had been agreed with and found to be good and wise by his Grace, the King himself.

Since the Lady Anna had already been widowed for the second time after just a few years of marriage and has still no heirs of her body, it was deemed necessary by our gracious King that the heiress of your House will be given into marriage with this young Lord, surely procreative but unhindered by disrupting familial connections and of negotiable pride, so that the young Lord will be agreeing and understanding in the necessarity that the first son or child all together which will be born in this marriage, will be born as heir under the name of House Elesham and only the second child which will hopefully be born, will be given the name of the House of the young Lord himself.

Our gracious King, Robert the first of his name, is not only agreeing fully with the wise idea of his Lord Hand, but has also decided to honor the Houses of Elesham and Baelish with a personal wedding gift, which are three sizable chests filled with woolen and velvet and cotton cloth of various colors and further with ten pieces of jewelry for the young couple and four pieces of jewelry for the Lady Alysanne Elesham, beloved niece of the Lord Hand.

The King and the Lord Hand are wishing to see the wedding fulfilled before the end of this year and are asking the good Mother to bless this third marriage of Lady Anne, heiress of The Paps, with the longed for heir.

With highest regards to your noble House, may the Seven bless you and the young couple

Pycelle, Grandmaester of his Grace Robert Baratheon, first of his Name.)

[Dearest Lady Alysanne Elesham,

most beloved niece of my sweet husband.
I am now the deeply honored wife of my sweet husband for blessed and happy nearly five years and I must admit that I am very ashamed that I had not reached out years earlier to you, as close member of my husband's family.
I hope that you will forgive me for this slight, my dear Lady Alysanne. I can only make my apologies for this oversight by saying that the first few years of my blessed marriage had sadly been filled with the trials by the Sevens, with the unhappiness of miscarriages and with the misunderstandings between newly married couples, especially between a young and helpless bride like myself and a worldly and busy and important husband like my own dearly beloved Jon.

Oh these misunderstandings in a new marriage, I am sure you remember them from the beginning of your own first few years with your honorable husband.

And so, I hope for your understanding and forgiveness, my dearest Lady Alysanne and I pray that you and I will become close in our family bonding and maybe become good friends beyond that too, just as I hope to become a good friend to your niece too.

Oh and I wish to send a wedding gift to your most lovely niece, who through you belongs to the family of my sweet husband too and is thus loved by me as well, would you please write me back and give me advices for what the sweet Lady Anna would like the most?

I will await your letter with baited breath and with my heart in dear friendship to you

Sincerely Lady Lysa Arryn, 237th day of the Year 287 AC]

(To Lady Catelyn Stark in Winterfell

My sweet beloved sister, forgive me please for my silence and my lack of letters to you in the past years. My lonely Heart had forgotten the sisterly love between us and I can only blame this on the long years of sadness, of ever growing sadness which became worse with each little babe I had lost during these years of my marriage.
But this sadness has finally been put to rest, for now I have been blessed with the greatest gift of all, with my longed for, my prayed for, my hoped for sweet and healthy babes.

Oh Catelyn, you must understand that I had written no letters to you in the last few years, just because my poor suffering heart had been filled with envy towards you and your healthy and living dear son.
And this envy had only become more when you had been blessed with your healthy daughter last year then too.

Now, I had once more been carrying the blessings of motherhood in me when I had received the news about your daughter but I had not the love and will to write you and send congratulations to your happiness back then, not when I had lost already so many babes and was still afraid to lose the one I was carrying at that time too.

You must think me shallow and hardhearted for writing this and still hoping for your forgiveness, but I pray nonetheless that your sweet caring Heart might forgive me for my callous selfishness.

Oh Catelyn, my beloved sister, I wish you all the blessings now, for you and your babes and for all babes still to come and for your husband too, I wish only love and happiness for your family, just as I have now finally have it all in mine.

My dearest and most beloved husband is the proudest father ever, you should see him smile when our sweet little daughters are giggling and waving their precious little hands around. He looks so happy now, but also so calm and at peace.
He often smiles at me now, now that I had proven that I can give birth to healthy and living children and gave him so much hope and Joy for his noble House.

I am so happy now with my life and I hope the same for you.

Your loving sister Lysa

Oh, I had nearly forgotten to tell you something...
My beloved husband has a still living but sadly barren niece, Lady Alysanne Elesham. The husband of my husband's niece, Lord Elesham of The Paps has only one niece of his own as direct heiress, a dear but already two-times widowed young woman of six-and twenty years of age. And this young Lady Anna, who is sadly still without any Child, will soon be married to little Petyr Baelish, our childhood friend. My wise husband had chosen Lord Baelish for the unimportance of his House, so that dearest Lady Anne's House will be handled prominently in this upcoming marriage.
I am so very blessed with my wise and well-thinking Husband.

Love to you once more my sweetest sister by your loving sister Lysa.
