Back at the main door Fang and the others are using parts of the walls as cover when the door begins to open. They all point their blasters "Here they come!" Fang yelled. The badniks flooded in and the clones opened fire "Hold the line!". The clones start getting picked off as Omegas entered the fight. Lien-Da entered as the firing ended with apparently all the clone's dead "Deal with any remaining clones. I'll go after the hedgehog. Seal the main gate and all portals. Let nothing escape this castle". Fang who was lying against a wall seemingly dead opened his eyes and tried to shoot her with his pistol. Lien-Da quickly activates her lightsabers and stops the bolts before Force pulling the gun out of his hand. She then uses it too lift him up and strangle him "Where is Shadow?" she ask sinisterly. Fang was gasping for air "I… don't talk to… Separatist scum" he said defiantly. Lien-Da dropped him and smirked as she waved her hand "You will contact Shadow now". Fang suddenly looked like he was in a trance "I will contact Shadow now".
Shadow and Amy can hear the fighting "That sounded bad" Emerl suddenly beeped and projected a hologram of the monastery. On it was a small landing platform at the back of the structure that flashed red "Good job, buddy. Lead the way" Shadow said. His commlink then activated "Shadow? Come in. We've held the badniks" "That doesn't sound like Fang" Shadow said in confusion. "What is your location?", Shadow turned off his commlink "Lien-Da" "Dimitri's assassin?". Shadow nodded "She's here to kill the ox. Come on".
Above the planet a Republic cruiser releases a squad of fighters led by Espio "Shadow is in trouble. You know the drill" "Copy that, sir" the commander responded as they entered the atmosphere. They engaged a squad of eggrobos above the monastery.
Shadow and Amy reached the platform "Shadow to Espio. I need a medical ship immediately. Do you copy?". There wasn't an answer "They must be jamming us. I'll see if I can find Fang".
Fang and a few other clones were back in the courtyard with there hands behind their backs. There was a small army of badniks in front of them "Fang?" his commlink went of confusing the badniks. "Did you hear that?" "It came from the prisoners". Fang smirked "Let me show you how it works nik" he put his arm out which an Pawn looked down to examine. Fang quickly grabbed his blaster and used him as a shield before taking out a few more. The other clones picked up their weapons and they used the destroyed walker as cover. Fang answered his commlink "I read you, General. We're pinned down in the courtyard" "Do you need help?". Fang got out of cover and shot a few of the advancing badniks which Shadow heard "I'll take that as a yes, Captain. Stand by, we're on our way".
Shadow was about to walk back inside but Amy didn't move "Master, Stinky is really sick. I'm pretty sure his fur is falling out. Our mission is to get him back to Sandopolis alive". Shadow turned back to her "Espio will get here eventually. Right now, we need to help Fang". Suddenly Gammas appeared from inside the monastery and started shooting at them. They deflected with their lightsabers "Emerl, the door!" Shadow yelled. Emerl ran to the control panel and shut the door trapping Shadow and Amy on the platform. On the other side Lien-Da appears, she activates her lightsabers and begins cutting through the door. Amy looks out in the distance and sees a small mountain with another landing platform on it with a ship "Master" she pointed towards it showing Shadow. Shadow then looks underneath the platform there on and sees giant insects flying. "How're we gonna get over there?" Amy asks, "Leave that to me" Shadow smirks before jumping off the platform and landing on one of the insects. Amy turns around and sees Lien-Da breakthrough the door, she runs forward and the two of them clash but the echidna quickly overpowers her "Where is Shadow?". Shadow then rises above the platform on the insect "Right here, Lien-Da!" he uses the Force to through her back. He grabs Amy's hand and pulls her onboard the insect and they fly towards the platform. Emerl activates the jets on his feet and follows them. Lien-Da watches them from the platform, a Pawn walks up to her "Dimitri demands a report on your mission. Should I tell them they got away". She frowns before using the Force to throw the Pawn off the platform.
The two hedgehogs make it to the other platform, and they see a small shuttle that doesn't look to be in the best condition "We're taking this?" Amy said, "If the engines work". Amy heads towards the shuttle with Stinky on her back and she sees Bocoe walk out from behind some crates "Hey, you're that caretaker. I wondered what happened to you". Bocoe looked nervous "Oh, young one. I mean, soon to be Shinobi Knight. I had to get away from that terrible-" two egg pawns exited the ship "Okay we're ready to-" they noticed Amy. "Blast her!" Bocoe yelled, Amy activated her lightsaber and quickly dealt with the badniks. She walked up to Bocoe "Don't you dare!" he said before Amy promptly cut off his head.
Espio was still in the battle above the monastery "Commander Armand, prepare the gunships for ground assault" "Yes, sir". Espio looked back to the cruiser and saw the gunships be released. On the courtyard Fang and a large purple cat clone were all that was left "This is it, Big. Scrap them!" they both jumped out of cover and took out as many badniks as they can but are very quickly surrounded. "Surrender, Republic dogs!" one of the Pawns said, Fang didn't lower his weapon "We've got you outnumbered!". The Pawn looks back to his army confused "Outnumbered? Wait. One, two, three…" there suddenly fired at by Espio's fighter. The chameleon leaps out and cuts through the remaining ones. The gunships then land and release reinforcements including Armand. Espio runs up to Fang "Where's Shadow?" "Best guess is he's still in the castle, sir".
In the Iron Palace Dimitri sits at a table alone and quietly speaks to a hologram of Lien-Da "Have you recovered the child?" "The hedgehog is still in possession of him and has temporarily eluded me, but he will not escape this Zone alive". Dimitri looked disappointed in this news "Need I remind you whoever has the Iron Kings favour will control the war in the Outer Zones? Only we must be allowed to return Jun's son to him alive". Lien-Da bowed her head "I understand, Master. I will double my efforts" "I hope so, for your sake".
Lien-Da finishing her message turns around and see's Espio enter "Master Espio. Always chasing after Shadow. How predictable" she activated her lightsabers. Espio smirked "Shadow leaves quite a mess. Which always leads me to you, Lien-Da". She runs deeper in the monastery as Espio gives chase.
Shadow and Amy enter the cockpit of the shuttle "Alright, let's get out of here" Shadow presses a button which makes a clanking sound. The engines struggle to ignite "If we can" Shadow said before turning to Emerl "See if you can spark the ignition couplers". Emerl plugs his hand into a socket and the ship comes to life "Good work, buddy". The ships take off and heads to the battle at the monastery.
