Luke time travels to prequel!Anakin Skywalker's body. Luke learns more about his parent.
Luke is amazed by the beauty of Naboo. Naboo is a beautiful planet, there are so many green plants and water. It's almost like a paradise.
If his father didn't fall, would he be living here with his mother and Leia?
He walks to the tomb of Padme Amidala. He gently places his hands on the tomb, he smiles warmly, "Mother."
Luke wants to know more about his mother, but he always looks sad and regretful every time he asks his father about his mother. At least, he managed to get his mother's name. He didn't ask his father about his mother anymore after he knew his mother's name. He does some research and finds out his mother had been a queen and she was beloved by many.
He wants to know more about his parents but news and articles give so little information about it. Did they love each other? What kind of person are they? What did they do? There are so many questions but few answers.
"I wish I could know you better." he gently brushes the dust off the tomb.
Suddenly, his chest tightened, he couldn't breathe. The air has seemed to leave his body. He reaches the force to locate the danger but the force is silent, he tries to reach for Leia, but the pain doubles.
The force whispers, calm down. How can he calm down when he can't breathe?
Blackspots start to fill his vision, he couldn't see nor breathe, one hand clings tightly on the edge of the tomb and the other hand was grabbing his shirt. He falls onto his knees as the darkness claims him.
This is your chance. The force whispers.
Chance? What chance? Luke is confused. In the void of darkness, he struggles to find the light. In the end, he stops his struggle but closes his eyes, takes a deep breath and calms himself. He opens his eyes and sees a path. He follows the path until a bright light shines directly in his eyes.
He closes his eyes and groans. The bright light hurts his eyes. He opens his eyes carefully, adjusting his eyes to the surrounding light. He blinks, the smell of bacta hits his nose. How did he end up on the medbay? He scans his surroundings. He saw the blue swirl of the hyperspace from the viewport.
Why is he in the hyperspace? Who saved/kidnapped him?
The door opens. Luke turns his head quickly and sees a man holding a datapad walks in. The man looks at him relieved, "General, you are finally awake."
Luke is confused. General? He is not a general. After the battle of Endor, he declined the role of general and left the Alliance to rebuild the Jedi Order. Even though he left, the Alliance had only addressed him as Commander.
The man seems to take note of his confusion. He approaches cautiously, "General, what was the last thing you remember?"
Luke frowns. Something is not right here. The force is surprisingly bright and alive. Instead of answering the question, he asked, "Who are you?"
The man's expression is emotionless but his force presence is surprised by his question.
"I'm Kix." Kix answers, he opens his mouth to ask again but Luke cuts him off, "Where am I?"
Before Kix has the chance to answer, the door slides open again. Two troopers walk into the medbay, although the armour is slightly different. Luke tensed, no it can't be. The empire had captured him.
Luke stands up, he throws his hand outwards towards the troopers. The force pushes the troopers out of the medbay and crashes land on the wall. He can feel the confusion and surprise from Kix and the troopers. He is not going to let himself be captured by the imperials. He needs to form a plan and get the kriff out of here. Quick.
"General, what are you doing?" Kix exclaims in alarm, "That was Commander Cody and Captain Rex!"
Who? Great, the imperials are trying to confuse him.
"Anakin, what are you doing? Attacking your men?" A familiar voice Luke had not been hearing for a very long time. Ben walks into the medbay along with the two troopers he had just thrown out.
Luke stares at Ben who is wearing brown robes with a concerned expression. Ben looks so different, he looks more alive and young.
Impossible.
"You're dead. I saw you die." he says in disbelief. Unless the imperial have cloned Ben and they are playing tricks on him.
"No, Anakin. I'm very much alive." Ben says amusingly.
Luke frowns, his head starts to hurt. He will not submit to the imperial. Ben is dead, this clone will - Wait -, Ben has called him Anakin.
Anakin was his father. Thoughts are running in his head. He reaches the force, searching for answers. The force is laughing at him, nudging him to believe every assumption he had made.
He needs to confirm his assumption. He walks to the refreshment, pushing Kix who was in his way and he ignores the others who are studying him carefully and worrying.
He stares at the mirror, the image reflecting is not his face. A scar running down his left eye, honestly, even with the scar present, his father still looks quite handsome and badass too.
"Anakin, are you alright?" Ben- no, Obi-Wan is at the door of the refreshment, looking at him in concern.
Luke brushes his hair with his hand, "I'm fine. Just a little confused." He looks down his hand, only now he realises father had a mechanic arm, no wonder his hand felt so heavy.
"You did give us quite a scare. Throwing your men like you saw those droids." Ben emphasises the word droids.
They walk out of the refreshments and towards the others. They are waiting for them patiently.
"I had a..." Luke honestly doesn't know what to say to Ben. He doesn't want to lie to him, but the force is warning him not to reveal it. "... nightmare."
Yeah, that should explain why he accidentally attacked the clones.
Ben pauses, he looks at Luke seriously. " A nightmare? Anakin, is it a nightmare or a vision?"
Luke pauses at Ben's question, does father always have nightmares? "It's a nightmare." He can't have Ben asking him the future, "I don't want to speak about it."
Luke walks towards the door to exit the medbay, Kix quickly blocks his way. "General, you need to stay here and rest."
"I'm fine, Kix. "
"Let me run some tests before you leave." Kix insists.
Luke has to hide a groan, he brushes his hair with his hand, "Fine." He walks back to the bed, lies down on the bed. He closes his eyes and begins to gather his thoughts.
If he is in Anakin's body, then where is Anakin? He closed his eyes, searching for his father. The force pulls him into a vortex, there lies his father, peacefully asleep.
12 hours. The force whispers.
He opens his eyes, letting out a soft sigh. The lights in the medbay have dimmed. He reaches out the force, no one is in the medbay. He carefully slips down from the bed. He sees a dark cloak lying down the chair. He grabs it and puts it on.
He walks out of the medbay, using the force to guide him to wherever the destination is. He sneaks past the clones, it's still unbelievable that he was in the Clone Wars. He does not know how long he can handle pretending to be Anakin Skywalker. Back home, Han had always said his sabacc face is terrible. Sometimes Wedge comments that the High Command can't send him undercover because of his overexpression. One look will know something is amiss.
Luke stops in front of a room. He hesitates, he wants to understand this whole situation. He opens the door with a wave of his hand, he does not bother trying to figure out the right passcode. Inside the room, he saw some ship models and schematics on the racks and a few datapads lying on the table. There are only two words to conclude this room. A mess.
Luke smiles, never had he thought of his father as an untidy person. If Luke had told his friends about this, who would have believed it?
He picks up a starfighter, does some childish hand gestures, mimicking the fighter sound's sound. Once again, he feels like a child back in Tatooine, dreaming endlessly about leaving the planet and starting his adventure.
He arranges the fighters nicely on the racks and picks up the schematics, studying what his father is working on. His father is working on fixing and improving a Delta-7B starfighter.
Luke has known that Darth Vader had owned his personal TIE Advanced x1 and this starfighter is heavily modified by Vader himself but seeing these plans lying around. Luke is amazed by his father, longing to know his father even more.
He cleans up the mess his father created, he also took a chance to familiarise his father's workplace.
Luke is too immersed in cleaning up the place, he didn't notice Ben has been searching for him and the whole ship is on alert. The door opens without his notice, not until a voice shouts out, "Master!"
Luke is startled by the sudden shout, he drops the datapad. A young orange-skinned female Togruta with white markings and blue stripes. Luke studies her carefully and reaches for his father's memory to identify her. He didn't want the same mistake to happen.
"Hello, Ahsoka."
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in medbay?" She asked extremely
Luke gives her an unimpressive look, "The medbay is dull."
Ahsoka smirks, "Glad to know you are still the same, Skyguy."
She looks around and picks up the data that he drops on the floor just now and puts it on the table. "Skyguy, are you sure you are not seriously hurt?" Luke raises an eyebrow, she continues, "You are cleaning your room!"
"Well, I feel like cleaning up the room." Luke pauses, gives Ahsoka a solemn look, "Just for today." And then he gives her his signature bright smile.
Ahsoka is surprised by him, she blinks, crosses her arms, "You are not my master. You won't say that."
Luke puts his hand on his heart in an exaggerated manner, "You hurt my feelings, Snips."
She takes a good look at him, "Master, you get some rest. We have 6 hours before reaching Coruscant."
Once she leaves him, he murmurs, "Father, you never told me you had an apprentice." When he gets back to his timeline, he is going to search for her if she is still alive in the future.
He looks around the room, feeling satisfied with his work. He lies on the bed staring at the dull grey wall, desperate to help the people outside to stop this war and Palpatine.
However, the force nudges him to stop.
If only he can...
Many lives will be safe.
