Clint would be very pissed if he died like this.
Rolling, jumping, weaving over razor-sharp claws.
He gritted his teeth
There was not way he would give Odin-The literal king of ego and smugness-The satisfaction of knowing one of Thor's "weak" mortal friends died on a mission given by the king pirate himself!
Wishing for the hundredth time that he had his bow, Clint grabbed a long, sharp, tree branch.
Natasha, seeing this, immediately knew his plan and threw a rock at the beast to distract it.
Gathering all his remaining energy, Clint hefted up the branch, ran forward, and impaled the sharp end straight in the beasts exposed eye, one of the only parts not covered by impenetrable scales.
It let out an agonized wail, thrashing.
Clint was knocked to the ground, but sat up, staring at the beast.
Steve gaped at the sight.
The branch had gone completely through the beasts head.
It feel to the ground, unmoving.
"Did you complete your task?" Odin asked.
Natasha dug her elbow into Tony's side to restrain him from yelling at the king.
Thor held up the horn they had cut off from the beast to prove they killed it. "Yes, father."
Odin looked slightly surprised, but quickly made his face blank.
This did not go past Natasha or Clint.
"Who did it?" He asked.
Clint stepped forward. "Why does it matter?"
Steve shot him a look telling him to be polite, but Clint couldn't care less.
Odin's face went noticeably colder. "Only the one who has slain the beast has proven themselves. The rest of you." His eyes flickered disdainfully over Steve, Tony, and Natasha. "Have not."
This time, Clint really thought he would attack Odin.
His face a mask of pure fury, he stepped forward-
BONG! BONG! BONG!
"The alarm bells." Thor said, face paling.
A soldier ran into the room, kneeling before Odin. "Your Majesty! A green giant is attacking the palace!"
The Avengers stared at each other.
Could it be?
Yes.
And.
It.
Likely.
WAS.
They sprinted out of the throne room. If Bruce killed any innocents, he would never forgive himself. Asgard would have good reason to declare war on Earth, ir at the very least demand some form of payment. If there was war between Asgard and Earth, Asgard would win.
Or would they?
Clint wasn't actually so sure, when he thought about it.
Magic or Science?
Earth was certainly more advanced, yet Asgard had magic...
Clint decided that now was not a good time to be thinking about this.
The six ran in the direction all soldiers were running.
They reached a spot already littered with rubble, and found...
Hulk.
