Back at the mansion, Camila and Eda motioned for the Blight's to follow them.
"While we were at the mall, we decided to get you three something that might help you while you're here." Camila said, handing them each a small, long box.
They each opened it and pulled out a polished wooden stick.
"What are these?" Amity asked.
"They're training wands. They are used to help young witches focus magic, but you don't need magic in order to use it." Eda said, "When you get a good grip with these, we'll let you make your own wands."
Camila handed them each a beginner's spell book.
"Why don't you give them a try?" Camila said.
Amity stood up and looked through the book.
"Think about the spell and make a circle." Amity read aloud.
She figured a light spell would be safe. She pointed her arm out and made a white spell circle with the wand. A small, white, ball of light appeared and floated to the roof. Amity looked at the wand with amazement. She just did magic.
"How did it feel? If you want, we can change the Spell Circle color. White is the default color." Camila said.
Amity didn't hear anything. She was just focused on the fact that she did magic. She was like Azura now... well, maybe not exactly like her, but still. She snapped out of it when Emira lightly shook her shoulder.
"Mittens, are you still in there?" Emira asked.
"Huh?"
"Well, that answers that question." Edric said.
Emira and Edric went to another room to practice with their wands... they can't possibly cause any damage with a beginner spell, right?
"So, do you want us to change the color of your spell circle?" Camila asked.
"Uh, sure." Amity said, thinking what color she wants, "How about... Magenta?"
Camila took the wand.
"We'll get the color changed and then get this back to you. We need you to learn magic quickly if we plan on getting you three enrolled in Hexside next semester." Camila said, "You'll get this back within the hour. Eda, can you go see what color's the twins would like?"
"You got it, Hot Cakes." Eda said.
Camila had to be honest, she loves and hates the little pet names Eda has for her. On one hand, they're cute, on the other... they aren't always appropriate. Calling her the "Freak between the Sheet" during a party with some of the highest ranking officials and wealth of the Isles, for example, was a sure-fire way of being banished to their... "Vacation Home".
"Just do it." Camila said.
Camila and Eda walked out of the room, so Amity decided to walk to her room and read her Azura book. On her way there, she saw her neighbor's door wide open, Luz's humming filled the halls. She looked in Luz's room as she walked past. Luz was sitting on her bed, reading. Amity grabbed her Azura book and sat on the windowsill. She opened the book and got lost in the pages. Before she knew it, there was a witch to her right. She looked over and let out a small scream.
"Oh, I'm sorry Amity!" Luz said, "My moms been calling you for five minutes. When you didn't answer, she wanted me to get you, she said your Spell Circle color is set."
"O-o-okay, I-I-I'll be there in a minute." Amity got up and put the book away.
"You read the Good Witch Azura?" Luz asked.
"Uh, y-y-yeah."
Amity didn't know Luz knew about the series. What if witches find it ridiculous? What if Luz think's Amity's weird?
"Can I borrow it?"
"W-w-what?" Amity asked.
"I only have up to four, I haven't gotten a chance to read number five."
"U-u-uh, sure."
Luz hugged Amity while letting out a high pitched squeal.
"Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!"
Luz took the book and went back to her room. Amity had a lot of questions for the witch, but from the sounds of it, she wasn't going to get them anytime soon. She decided that she shouldn't keep Mrs. Clawthorne waiting anymore. On the other side of the Isles, the gang members handed a file to their leader.
"So, the Princess is hanging out with a Human? Disgraceful."
"What do we do about this?" A member asked.
"Well, we should be laying low after the heist, but this can't go unpunished. Add this Human on our target list. We have work to do. Don't disappoint me, if one of them gets away, you push back, months of work."
