Lucy left the cafeteria and went straight to her locker to grab textbooks for her next two classes. She was checking her makeup in the locker mirror when a large arm blocked her view as it reached inside for her books. She smiled, planting a kiss inside the crook of Laxus' elbow as the distinct scent of Irish Spring filled her nostrils. Enjoying the smell, she ran her nose up his arm, landing small pecks along the way and ending up at his mouth for a chaste kiss.

"Where were you at lunch baby?" Lucy pouted as she turned to wrap her arms around the senior's waist.

Laxus pulled a textbook out and smiled down at her before answering, "I was in the weight room doing some extra training. I lost track of time, sorry Lucy." He planted a kiss on top of her head before wrapping his free arm around her shoulder. "Is this all you need?"

Lucy looked at the book in his hand and shook her head. Reaching back into her locker, she pulled out another textbook, "This one too."

Laxus took the extra book as she shut her locker and together, they went to class. With an arm around his waist she leaned into him as he kept his arm around her shoulder, the crowded hallway parted to make room for the couple to walk down.

When they first started dating, Lucy would notice the stares and whispers from her fellow classmates as walked in the halls. Some jealous; Some yearning; but mostly just in adoration at the popular couple.

"Of course Laxus asked her out. She's a cheerleader and he's the quarterback. The stereotype stays strong."

"I wish I could be her. I bet he gives great hugs with those big arms."

"Finally! They've been tiptoeing around their friendship for so long it was frustrating to see them so oblivious of each other's feelings."

"Oh hush! He probably just didn't want to rush her because of her mom. He didn't want to take advantage of her emotional state."

"Awww, that's so sweet."

"That's so sweet it gives me a sickly feeling. Ugh. People shouldn't look that good together in real life!"

She had to learn that not everyone would want them to be together, students and adults alike. Some even went as far as spreading rumors about the couple. Eventually, they both just learned to communicate and trust each other over anything they might have heard from other people. It strengthened their loving relationship even more.

As they entered the classroom, both students said a quick hello to Freid while he wrote conjugations on the whiteboard. They took their seats near one another as the tardy bell rang.

"Please translate the quote on the board and write down the vocabulary list for Chapters One and Two from the textbook. I will be with you all momentarily." Mr. Justine did not stop his work on the board as he gave his instructions, nor did he turn to see if his students had begun their work which resulted in about half of the students opening their textbook and the other half just chatting in class.

Lucy looked at the board and wrote the phrase in her notebook to translate.

Nous sommas nos choix.

Hmmm. 'We are our choices.' Interesting pick for the first day of integration Freid.

She opened her book to chapter one to start on the vocabulary when Laxus turned in his chair to ask, "What are we?"

Lucy could not stop her lips from forming a quick smirk as she joked, "Well, I thought we were already established as a couple. I'm so sorry for not confirming that with you and making you think you were only just a plaything for my pleasure."

With a neutral look on his face, Laxus did not miss a beat when he responded. "Oh so you don't want me for just my body? You wouldn't have to apologize if you had used your mouth for actually communicating that rather than using it on my throbbing co-"

Lucy blushed a deep red as she slapped a hand over his mouth and looked around. "Continue that sentence Dreyar and I'll never use it for that again. EWWW, grow up Laxus!"

Both teens started laughing after Laxus pushed his tongue through Lucy's fingers making her aide him in a lewd gesture one would expect more from Bickslow than Laxus. He shot her a wink before turning around to face the front as Freid cleared his throat to gain their attention as he started class.

Lucy had tried to focus on the teacher's lesson plan but her mind kept wandering as it was ought to do whenever Laxus was involved. She dreamily thought about how much he had done for her. How far they've come as a friends as well as a couple. How patient he has been with her. As big and brooding as he looks, Laxus is just a big teddy bear.

Most other guys in his position would have pressured Lucy into sex or gone on to someone else after not putting out. Instead, Laxus just shrugged it off and insisted that they had all the time in the world. "We're end-game Blondie. If you want to wait for sex, I'm okay with that because I know you are the one for me. I know that this is a big deal for girls- no, for women. We can have fun other ways, no big deal."

Lucy smiled at the memory of the night he told her that. It was his Junior Prom and they had already agreed on going 'all the way' when Lucy had cold feet and asked if they could wait a bit longer. Laxus respected her hesitation and they still spent that night exploring each other's bodies in other ways. It was the best night of her life.

A blush crept on her cheeks as she recalled specific details from that night. Her hand absently running through his short hair. Laxus turned his head, curious to what brought the sudden affection and gave Lucy a lecherous grin.

Observing the desire in her big brown eyes and the flush of red along her cheeks, he knew something was on her mind. "Somebody's thinking naughty things in French class." He whispered to her in a sing-song voice.

Lucy grinned back before responding unashamed at being caught, "I was thinking about Junior Prom last year and about how much I love you." Her fingers moved from his hair to his face, tracing the jagged scar on his eye, continuing along his cheek bone, down his nose, and ghosting over his lips. "What did I do to deserve you Laxus?"

It was the senior's turn to blush before turning and facing the front again. He had a look of frustration on his face, but Laxus spoke softly so only Lucy could hear, "You're the one that saved me babe."

Lucy's smile widened as the bell rang, dismissing the class. She pulled her books from the basket below her chair and stood to leave. A strong arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her down onto its owner's lap.

"Laxus!" she exclaimed as her boyfriend nuzzled her neck with his nose and kissing her temple.

The sound of an austere throat clearing pulled both teen's attention to the teacher. The stern azure eyes held just a hint of amusement as Laxus reached around and grabbed the books out of his girlfriend's grip before giving he a final peck on the cheek and helping her off his lap, all without breaking eye contact with the teacher before him.

Lucy, on the other hand, was avoiding eye contact at all costs. Abashedly looking towards the ground as her face flushed red. She grabbed her boyfriend's arm and pulled him out of his chair and, with a quick "Sorry!" to Freid, left the classroom.

Laxus willingly let his girlfriend maneuver him and flashed a cocky grin to his teacher. He mouthed 'Sorry' to his teacher in such a way that it was clear to the educator that he was mocking his girlfriend.

Freid just stood there frozen with thoughts of the young couple. Ah. To be in love at that age. They've gone through so much together. They truly deserve each other.

A soft knock at the door pulled the green-haired teacher out of his thoughts. "Hiya Mr. Justine!"

A small blush crept onto his face as it split open with a smile, "Miss Strauss, I thought I told you 'Freid' was just fine?" He cleared his throat, hoping she hadn't heard the cracking in it.

The wry smile she gave told him that she did indeed hear it. "You mean, just like I've told you that I can answer to Mira just as well as Miss Strauss?" She let out a small giggle as Freid lowered his head in chagrin.

"Ah, I suppose then, formality brings comfort when associates have yet to become friends."

Mira smiled softly at his words, "Well I have a free period now. Care to grab some bad coffee in the teacher's lounge?"

"It would be my pleasure to join you." Freid gave his coworker a small bow before continuing, "Although, I bring my own tea leaves to make instead. I don't mind sharing if you would prefer that over coffee." He grabbed his book bag and opened the door, waiting for Mira to exit first.

"Oh, that sounds just wonderful!" They made their way to the lounge, a blush creeping upon both of their cheeks.

A/N:

I'm so sorry for being MIA and for the short chapter. This was supposed be a much longer chapter but I don't seem to have the time to type my story up! So until I get more time in my schedule, this story will go on a hiatus. I'll still be writing so when I do get the time to type up the rest of the story, it will probably go up pretty fast. Again, I'm sorry for the delay in the story but life happens! I appreciate all the follows and reviews and I hope to get more time in my schedule soon!

Special Shoutout:

Rao Hyuga 18: Thanks for the review! I'm trying to sprinkle in all of the Fairy Tail Universe in this story! More references are going to be made to other arcs and whatnot. :)

CopperReign12: Yeah, I can't let Wendy just go at it on her own! and She is interested in him, she just doesn't know how interested she is yet. Trust, more is coming!
