Chapter 8

The following morning Logan was awoken by a call from Finn. He quickly got up and went outside to not wake anyone up

"Morning! Do you not know the little thing called time it's 8am I was asleep" Logan was annoyed but for a different reason Rory was still asleep

"Sorry mate" Finn said "Honor said you were in New York please can we meet up? I'm meeting Colin and Robert tonight."

"I actually have plans for today what about tomorrow" he just wanted to treasure time with Rory and maybe go and see her grandma in Nantucket.

"Aww... I suppose we can meet up tomorrow"

Logan debated saying he had a surprise for them but in the end said nothing thinking of Honors reaction "Thanks mate I will message you later to confirm I can make it."

"Okay bye Logan"

"Bye Finn"

With that the phone went dead and he headed inside. Noticing Rory was not in bed anymore but could hear a commotion from the bathroom he went to find her.

"Rough morning Ace?"

"Very"

Logan walked in got a damp cloth and started rubbing it on her bare skin

"You have magical powers" Rory said before snuggling into Logan

"Glad you think so"

Together they sat like this for a little while with Rory being sick 3 more times until she was finally ready to get up. They went into the kitchen and Logan got her some water.

"Ace I talked to Finn this morning he wants to meet us tonight but I said tomorrow. I guessed you may want to see your grandma in Nantucket on our way back"

"Thank you, yes I really want to go and see my grandma in Nantucket"

"Okay do you want to phone her or should I?" Logan asked

"Please can you?" As Rory still wasn't feeling that great "However I haven't told her about us yet we keep missing each other"

"Okay, though I need her number"

"On my phone"

"I will call her after breakfast today"

"Do you remember the Yale Daily News?"

"Yes" Logan was confused why she brought that up

"Can I show you the Stars Hollow Gazette? It's abit like Yale but the only other people there is this old couple so it gets lonely"

"I would love that Ace" after that Logan made Rory some toast to settle her stomach and for himself some eggs then they ate their breakfast.

After breakfast Logan got his phone and dialled Rorys grandmas number. Emily picked up the phone on the second ring even though she didn't recognise the number.

"Hello it's Logan Huntzberger is this Emily Gilmore?" He wanted it to sound formal not casual as Emily didn't know about the two of them

"Yes this is Emily Gilmore what can I do for you Logan" she was very confused as to why he was calling her

"I am calling on the behalf of Rory Gilmore."

"Why...?" This was getting very odd

Logan was unsure of what to say so he muted the call

"Rory what do I say"

"Just say you like to visit"

"Okay" Logan unmuted the call

"Mrs Gilmore We would like to come and visit you down in Nantucket"

"We being?..."

"Ahh me and Rory"

"Okay...When you would like to come and visit?"

"Later today if that's okay?"

"Yes that's fine does 2pm sound good?"

"That sounds good however we may be a little bit later I would say 3." Logan had noticed that Rory had disappeared he guessed headed for the bathroom so he wanted a little wriggle room on their arrival time

"I will tell the maid you guys are coming see you soon"

Rorys stomach had started feeling queasy again so she had rushed off to the bathroom. Logan ended the call to to go and comfort Rory. When she was feeling better they decided to take a walk and go to the gazette.

Walking in the door Esther was filing something and Charile had fallen asleep. Rory gave him the grand tour and introduced him to Esther and Charlie before sitting at her desk.

"Very lively" Logan said in a sarcastic tone

"Indeed" said Rory

"So you are the editor?" Logan asked

"Yes, at a town meeting in the summer it was said the gazette was shutting down I didn't like that and made Taylor give me the job instead."

"That's my Ace"

"Do you want to write something for this weeks issue?"

"May I?"

"Of course"

They spent the next few hours at the gazette working in some articles and the layout, finally satisfied they headed off to Nantucket

They arrived at 3pm on the dot. Rory was happy Logan gave them an extra hour so they could stop along the way. Without feeling guilty.
