This chapter is more focused on Frank and Alice and a bit of backstory on there realationship and alice's family. this story is heavily inspired by wilyoldjane's being no potter so check that out
A Family reunion
Longbottom manor A week later
Alice and Frank Longbottom were alone in their bedroom getting ready for a family get to gather
"Do we have to go" Alice asked her husband
"Yes, we do Alice, it's your family get together" Replied Frank "now tell me what's bothering you"
"Nothing's bothering me" she replied her eyes downcast
"Gem" He said grabbing her hand and guiding her to sit down on their bed than lifting her chin up so her eyes would meet his "Look at me. Now tell me what's bothering you"
"She'll be there" she said down casting her eyes once more
Frank looked at her suddenly understanding why she this past week Alice had been distant.
"Look I know it's stupid" she said as she sobbed "and I know-"
"flower, its ok I understand"
"You do?" she murmured lifting her head up to meet her husband's eyes once more
"Yes, and honestly I should have figured out earlier that she was the reason you didn't want to go" He replied caressing her cheek.
"I'm sorry I do this every pregnancy don't I" she laughed still crying as they both got up of the bed "it must get annoying"
"your right it is annoying" he said as she look away guiltily "but I wouldn't have it any other way" he continued puling her in to him " I was stupid, it was a onetime thing in Hogwarts and it will never happen again" he placed one of his hands on her pregnant belly and look at her with a look of such adoration, she and their kids were his entire world he didn't know what he would do if he ever lost her again. she looked at him, his eyes filled with adoration and admiration, he still made her get butterfly's in her stomach after so many years. "And I'm yours, you're the only person I could ever love your my everything. I love you more than anything in the world "he finished and then he kissed her deeply and then whispered "your mine"
Prewett-Fortescue manor
"Grandma, Nana" Clementine yelled as soon as they entered the door
"Clementine, it so nice to finally see you again" The redheaded lady said as the blond women next to her lifted her up it to her arms
"Where's your parents and siblings" A Tall strawberry blonde man said as her and a slightly shorter dark hand man entered the room
"They're being slow pokes" Clementine answered
"How-" The dark-haired man was cut off by the door swinging open
"Clementine, what did I say about running off out of sight of your father and I" A very pregnant and puffed Alice Longbottom huffed out as she tried to catch her breath
"Mum, Dad, Ma, Pa" Alice said as the redhead women and the strawberry blond man stepped forward to embrace their daughter followed by the darkhaired man and the blonde-haired women
The Redheaded women was Eloise Prewett-Fortescue Alice's Biological mother, who is married to Florean Fortescue the Darkhaired man, Alice's stepdad who with Eloise had five other kids Lewis [five years younger than Alice],Rhys,Isabella,Leonard and Dianne Fortescue [eight years younger than Alice[ the prior four being fraternal quadruplets, Alice's maternal younger half siblings. From a previous relationship He has four other kids Alice's older stepsiblings Austin {who was a year older than the twins], Isaac and Juliet [who are twins and were in franks year] and Della Fortescue [who was a year below frank but a year above Alice}
The strawberry blonde man was Alfred Griffiths, Alice's biological father who is a Married to the blonde lady Elenor Griffiths nee blishwick [Alice's stepmum] Together the pair has Six sons {Elenor was incapable of producing a female offspring and after having six sons the healers told her there could be very serious complications if she tried to have more kids} Alice's paternal older half-brothers Jonathan[eight years older than Alice], Jacob [six years older than Alice],Daniel {who was three years above Alice at Hogwarts}, Aiden and joseph { 2 years above Alice and in the same year as frank and the Fortescue twins} and lastly Levi { a year above Alice}
Eloise, Florean, Alfred and Elenor went to Hogwarts together and were [and still are] the best of friends. Alfred and Elenor started dating in fifth year, got engaged in seventh year and were married when they were twenty-one three years later, they welcomed their first child. Eloise and Florean off and on dated for years until Florean started dating Mary, who five years after the Griffiths he welcomed his first child with, she died in childbirth with their youngest child Della. Florean and Eloise got back together assumed the role of stepmum, and within six months of getting back together with Florean eloped. Florean and Eloise had a big fight late august 1959 and there she ran into Alfred who had an argument with Elenor, the two got so wasted that they hooked up resulting in Alice's conception. Eloise and Alfred both went home and confessed to their significant others that they had drunkenly hooked up with each other. at first Florean and Elenor were mad but eventually they got passed it and everything was well, until two months later when Eloise found out she was pregnant. She alongside Florean went to the healers who determined it was Alfred's and informed them it was a girl. They later informed Alfred and Elenor {who was thrilled to be able to have a daughter even if it wasn't genetically her}
They did a great job at co-parenting Alice. it was easy for them they're best friends and their manors are next to each other
"Where's Frank" Eloise asked her daughter
"He and the kids are right behind me" Alice replied to her mother
The door swung open again and in came frank carrying Nigel and ruby followed by the rest of the children.
"Sorry about the delay Mr and Mrs Fortescue and Mr and Mrs Griffiths
"Frank" Mrs Fortescue exclaimed "It's so good to see you"
"Son" Mr Griffiths stated stepping forward to pull him into a hug. Mr Griffiths had nearly always liked frank, except for the time Alice and Frank split up a few weeks before the poppy and Minerva's births. he hadn't liked frank when he broke his little girls heart , he and Alice split up because Frank and Juliet had slept together But they quickly released they made a mistake and came clean to Alice, she had broken up with him out of anger and Frank suggested for him to get her back, she should create a list with 100 things which he half way completed by the night the twins were born and they got back together and he still completed the list after they had gotten back together . he admired Frank for stepping up to be a dad overnight and taking responsibility, he also admired him for not only getting his blessing as well as Florean's, Eloise's, Eleanor's and Alice's siblings' blessings before proposing.
"Ally" Juliet screamed as she entered the Room, running up to embrace her little sister. Juliet was the shoe that they were referring to earlier
"Hi" Alice said Weakly
"Ah it's that time of the pregnancy isn't it" Juliet asked glancing up at Frank. During the last month of pregnancy Alice gets really insecure.
"Yeah" Frank responded pulling her to his side
"Quit standing around you guys and actually enter the dining room instead of standing around in the foyer" Jonathan interrupted
"Jonny" Alice exclaimed running up to her
"hey sunshine how's my favourite little sister" Jonathan asked embracing his sister
"I'm your only sister, Jonathan"
"Your right, but Doesn't mean you're not my favourite sable- Sister" Replied Jonathan
How life without the oldest six" Issacs Asked
"Seven, oldest seven" Alice corrected her brother
"What years are they in now" Lewis asked
"Minerva and Poppy are in third year, Benjamin, Joham, Lucas and Nathan are in second year and Alan is in His first year at Hogwarts" Frank answered
"Mum" Rubie began
"Go, all of you go play with your cousins" and with that all the children ran off upstairs and everyone separated in to was sat among Frank, Juliet, Isaac, Lewis, Daniel, Aiden, Joseph and Austin.
"They're getting big, Ali" Daniel commented "It feels like Just yesterday that Minnie and poppy were born"
"Do you guys remember that night "Austin asked
"How could I forget it "Lewis remarked
Flashback
New Year's Eve 1974
"That was fun" Austin commented as they listened to loud music after coming back in, they had just finished playing quidditch in teams of four
"Yeah"Frank mumbled
"Alice still mad at you "Aiden asked
"Yeah she is, But I think she has the right to be after being betrayed by her sister and boyfriend" Issacs Snidely commented glaring at his twin
"It was a one-time thing" Frank responded
"Yeah, it was never meant to happen, we were being stupid" Juliet Exclaimed
" That Doesn't mean that it didn't hurt Alice" Isaac growled
"Let it go, their sorry "Daniel snarled at his brother
"Just because their sorry doesn't mean she's hurt any less, what if Amy cheated on you with joseph for example" Lewis fired back
"No, you're right, I was an idiot and I broke the heart of girl I love for a bit of sexual gratification and I hate myself because of it" Frank voiced "come to think of it where is Alice"
"I think she's in bed, she's been ill all day" Juliet stated.
"She's right Alice has been sick all day "Aiden confirmed. Lewis mumbled something "Yes Lewis am I missing something"
"She hasn't been sick all day, she's been sick for the past two weeks"
"she has "Juliet asked
"Yes, she has, you guys haven't noticed, she's had a real bad stomach flu and cold as well as period cramps" Lewis informed the group
"Is she ok" Frank asked his voice full of concern
"look I'm sure-" Lewis was cut off by something that sounded like screaming
"What was that" Juliet asked her voice rising concern "Aiden turn that off"
"Done but why-"
He was also cut off by something that was really clearly screaming and just like that the group of eight rush out of Isaac's bedroom towards the bathroom where the screaming was coming from.
Meanwhile with Alice
"Aww" Alice let out a shriek of Pain. for the past couple of weeks, she had, had a really bad stomach flu. she constantly had to throw up and was nauseas and she also had really bad stomach pains for the last 2/3 of the day (last sixteen hours) of hours in fact they had woken her up at 7am and they kept getting closer and closer together.
"maybe I should go sit on the toilet yeah good idea Alice" she told herself so with that she gathered all her strength and picked herself up off the floor and slowly walked towards the bathroom with her wand in her hand. Once she reached the bathroom she ran herself a hot bath to ease the pain and had taken off franks jumper which she kept even though he was her ex-boyfriend, he wouldn't be getting the jumper back in fact he wouldn't be getting any of his clothes back.
so now Alice was just had skirt and bra and and was about to take the rest of when she collapsed in pain her abdominal pain had just been getting worst and worst she crawled her way over to the toilet and was barely able to pull herself up, to sit on it and pulled her panties down there was a bit of blood in thought to herself "well this is great the stomach flu and my period this is just fantastic.
"Aww" She screamed and as if things couldn't get any worse at that moment Frank and seven of her siblings came running into the room, she had forgot the silencing charm "this is great" she muttered to herself
"Are you ok" Frank asked concerned as he caught the sight of his ex-girlfriend her face and hair were glistening with sweat and she had blood down her legs and very obviously in pain no matter how hard she tried to hide it, he knew her way to well for that.
"Yeah I'm fine" Alice said weakly
"Are you sure" Lewis questioned suspiciously obviously not buying the face that his sister was "fine"
"Yeah I'm fine it's just My period cramps" Alice stated
"Are you sure" Juliet stated "cause you have never had period cramps this bad"
"yeah I'm su- awwww" She screamed "Francis don't give that look, I'm fine"
"Sure, you are" Austin said to his little sister rolling his eyes as to say that none of them were buying that
"Ali-" joseph tried before he was cut off by another ear-piercing shriek of pain
"I need to push "she screamed as she placed her hands on the wall and sink and let out an ear-piercing scream
"You need to what" Frank questioned obviously confused
"I need to push" she stated and so she did
"What are-" Frank was cut off but this time it was not by Alice it was by something that sounded like the crying of a baby.
"Help me up" Alice said to frank Frank stepped forward and pulled Alice up and saw what looked like an umbilical cord
"What happened, - ah Alice what are you doing?" Frank questioned as he saw Alice put her hand in the toilet
"Yeah Alice what are you doing" Juliet Asked a little disgustedly "its-" She was cut off by crying
"it that a baby" Frank asked in shock
"Joseph get something to keep it warm" Alice ordered. two minutes later He returned with the best white towels in the house "not those their white you idiot, go get something else" Two more minutes later he returned again with two blue towels "thankyou"
"what now" Daniel asked as his sister whimpered in pain
"I think it's the after birth" Alice shrieked her voice now full of fear. Frank rushed over to where Alice was sitting on the toilet and just happened to glance down
"Gem get off the toilet" He ordered
"What?" she questioned
"Just get off" He yelled "Now" Alice did what she was told and was crouching on the ground.
"Do you mind telling me what that was about" she demanded as she looked down at the baby in her arms, her beautiful daughter who was crying in her arms "why did I-, Is that another baby?"
"Yeah" he said as he wrapped the baby in the other towel looking down, he wondered where they hit.
"Give the it to me" she ordered
"Her it's a her" he corrected
Everyone else was just staring at the two in shock before Julia snapped everyone out of it "Joseph, Aiden go downstairs and get our parents" She ordered "Mrs Griffith is a midwife she'll know what to do."
ten minutes later Alice had delivered the placenta and was laying in her bed with twin girls while her parents all four of them were setting up a nursery in her room
"We'll give you two sometime alone" Her mother said as she ordered everyone out of the room
"Are they mine" Frank asked cautiously he hoped they were, but he couldn't be sure if they were. his anxious face was met by Alice's laughter
"Well they would have to be as you're the only guy I've slept with idiot." Alice Confirmed
"What are we going to do" Frank asked
"I think you mean what am I going to do Francis" Alice commented while she looked down at her baby girls "They're my problem, your off the hook I don't expect anything from you as I said it my problem, its consequences of my foolish actions and I sure as hell won't trap you with the babies, I'm fully content with being a single mother you don't have to be involved it's my problem"
"The hell it is" Her head snapped up her blue eyes widening as the met fierce brown eyes. "These are my children and I will be involved in their lives. A wizard does not turn his back on his children, regardless of the circumstances it was either conceived. you know that no pureblood would back down from his responsibility as a father. it is an insult to the bloodline and beyond improper" Frank argued "Alice for a smart person your being quite daft I've always wanted to be dad someday so what if it's a few years ahead of schedule and in case you've forgotten it takes to to conceive a baby so it's our foolish consequences not yours and you are not trapping me with the twins I've been trying to get you back for weeks I'm halfway through that list you gave me"
"do you really mean that?" Alice asked
"of course, I do "Frank said as he moves closer to where Alice was lying in bed "what should we name them"
"What about Minerva Pomona and Poppy Euphemia I've always liked those names
"Where did you get those from" Frank inquired though he didn't take his eyes off his daughters
"They were on my list, you know the one you create in fourth year if you ever had kids what would you name them, I had dozens of name idea's but those two are the only one's I can remember stupid huh." She answered
"Stupid nah it sounds like fate" He laughed
"So, it settled then Minerva Pomona and Poppy Euphemia Prewett-Griffiths-Fortescue it is" she proposed
"Nice try Minnie and poppy Longbottom it is" He declared
"Minnie? I like it cute nickname so how about Minerva Pomona and Poppy Euphemia Prewett-Griffiths-Fortescue-Longbottom" she joked
"Longbottom, Alice you hate having three last names and being referred to as Griffiths or Prewett or Fortescue as it's confusing" Frank stated looking at her with a look that said he won't budge
"I'm only messing with you lover boy; they can take your last name" Alice smiled
"Is that my jumper?" Frank questioned finally taking his eyes off the babies
"Yeah and you're not getting this back breakup or not this is mine now" she answered
"they're so tiny" Frank said admiring his girls
"Don't say that to the person who just pushed them out" She laughed
"This might be weird to say but you are an amazing ex-girlfriend and for the Ki-" he started and whatever he was going to say died on his lips as she fiercely pressed her own lips against his, before pulling away slightly and she whispered "girlfriend"
"girlfriend?" he stated obliviously. she nodded and then suddenly it clicked, and he kissed her again "I love you Gem" he had all three of his girls
"And I you" she expressed as she and the babies move closer towards him.
Twenty minutes later when Their parents MR and MRS Griffiths, MR and MRS Fortescue and MR and MRS Longbottom came in they found Frank Asleep on the bed his arm wrapped around a sleeping Alice snuggled up to him and the twin baby girls curled up on their father's chest
"Aw Alfred take a picture" Eloise Suggested
"Mum Dad? what do you need?" Frank inquired
"well Francis-" began Augusta loudly. Alice's body began to squirm.
"Would you quite it down? Alice and the girls are asleep" Frank snapped quietly
"What is their names son" Elroy inquired
"Mother, Father meet your Granddaughters Minerva Pomona and Poppy Euphemia Longbottom
"Aw the so cute but anyway we've contacted Dumbledore and mad arrangements for tutors and people to look after them while you two are in class so that you both can both finish your educations" Elenor informed Frank.
"What are your plans for custody and that seeming's as you two broke up what are your plans with miss Prewett-Griffiths-Fortescue?" Elroy asked
"Were raising them together dad, we got back together and one day I plan to marry her and spend the rest of my life making it up to her for my stupidity." Frank answered
"In that case I want at least half a dozen grandkids and at least one grandson" Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Fortescue joked
"Mum, mama, no" A sleepy Alice protested from her place snuggled next to frank her head on his chest
"Go back to sleep gem" Frank told Alice stroking her hair and placing a kiss on her head "I love you"
End of flashback
Present time
"so, Alice what was that about not having at least half a dozen children" Joseph teased his sister who went red.
"well that didn't go according to plan" Alice muttered
"Maybe not yours but I got what I wanted I married you and I wanted a big family and now we have got enough children to form three quidditch teams once this ones ready to come out" Frank stated winking at his wife who went red again
Longbottom manor
Frank and Alice's bedroom After the reunion
Frank and Alice were snuggled up in bed, His arms wrapped protectively around her {He had always been protective of his Alice}
"I love you gem" He reminded and then kissed her forehead. It was true Frank did love Alice in fact he adored her, and he was glad they were able to work things out. he was stupid, an idiot almost thirteen years ago and forever thankful that she gave him another chance. he didn't know what he would do without Alice she's his soulmate.
"I love you too love" she smiled at her husband and then kissed him.
