A/N: I still would like suggestion on just what Rubedo should be I am starting to think that she should be some type of eldritch and that like Shalltear she had extensive work done to make her look human

Cain looked at the still catatonic Nfirea taking in his now calm breathing as he laid in his bed Cain could feel the old woman's stare burning into his back as he had explained Nfirea's current state to her.

Cain turned to face Lizzie and spoke "By the time I was able to reach them, the higher ups had fled leaving their lesser subordinates and the kidnap victims to their fate."

Lizzie scowled openly at him as she spoke "You said that you would save him!" her hands balled into fists as if to strike at him.

Cain glared darkly at her for a moment as his irritation flared Lizzie seemingly felt the heat of it as she flinched visibly allowing Cain to speak "I did technically do what I agreed to…but that would still leave a bad taste on my tongue to leave him like this after agreeing to save him." Lizzie frowned unsure as to what the demon in front of her was saying.

"As much as I dislike it my contract is not complete yet…I will have to rely on another to complete it." stated Cain causing Lizzie's eyes to widen in shock.

"You…You fiend you want me to trust another demon, another Devil to complete a job that you couldn't!?" Lizzie almost screamed.

However, Lizzie stilled immediately as Cain spoke again this time a bit of hate tinging his word "No I will be the one in danger here…I will take you to Carne Village that is where I will call the 'help'…I am not willing to do it in the city as it would draw to much attention."

Lizzie hesitated slightly as Cain seemed to draw into himself, as if he were discussing something he despised why was he so irritated what was so wrong with this 'help'.

"When can we leave?" asked Lizzie as her eyes drifted over to her grandson.

As Cain moved away from Nfirea's bed side he took a moment to reply thinking over his words before he said them "…I will be able to leave soon within a day or two as the guild wishes to question me…I am sure that you could use this time to confirm my claims about the boy's state and settle your affairs here because you most likely won't be living here anymore once we reach Carne village."

Again Lizzie's eyes shot open wide with shock but this time she simply nodded and moved passed him to her grandson cupping his face gently.

Cain looked to the two one last time before he left the house finding Hamsuke and Rubedo leaning against the wall her face was a little down cast but Cain simply walked past the two heading to his an Rubedo's hotel.

Cain had been held up for a day as he had predicted as the guild interrogated him and Rubedo as well as collecting evidence from the grave yard.

However, after all that Cain and Rubedo were released and told to expect to be called back within the week.

Cain accepted without protest and rejoined with Lizzie who had already packed a small amount of her belongings into the wagon.

The ride up to the village was much more quite no monster attacks and no small talk…except for Hamsuke who was a source of constant noise.

By the time they had reached the village night had fallen and after a bit of explaining they had ended up splitting up Nfirea and Lizzie staying at Enri's while Cain and Rubedo stayed at the old village chief's home.

When morning came the Cain was cornered by Enri as he made his way to the center of town "What exactly are you going to do to Nfirea?"

Cain sighed under his helmet and replied "I can't heal him myself so I am going to call someone who can…I believe that you know of him, I heard several villagers praising him when we first visited."

Enri's eyes immediately widened in surprise "You know Lord Cain?"

Cain nodded once before speaking "You could say that we were close once…"

Enri's face became a deep red shade and her eyes widened even more as she replied "Y-you were l-lovers?!"

Cain flinched in shock before shaking he head and rapidly replied "No no we were not lovers…anyway did he leave you or anyone else with a means of contacting him?"

Enri blushed again this time from embarrassment before she nodded and spoke "Y-yes he left me with a scroll that would contact him, he said to use it if I ever needed help…sorry about earlier."

Cain sighed and shook his head as he replied "Its fine just… please, please don't imply that again, also when he answers tell him Able is at your village he should agree to come here pretty quickly after that."

Enri nodded and fled immediately to find the scroll that would help her friend.

Enri

Enri rushed through her home she had thought, prior to today that she was tidy but she couldn't find it; she couldn't find the scroll that she was looking for.

After a few minutes she finally found it, in her rush she had forgotten that she had stored it, along with every other thing she had gotten from Cain, in a chest under her bed she slowly and gently removed each item form the chest.

The glass vial that held the potion she had drank, the last goblin horn, and finally the scroll with that she just as carefully returned all but the scroll and put it back under her bed.

Once that was done Enri unrolled the scroll and looked it over trying her best to recall what Cain had said to do in order to use it.

Enri blushed in embarrassment at the thought she had almost been too distracted by his face and deep voice to actually listen to him but after a bit of thought she remembered the process.

Rerolling the scroll Enri held it in her palm and thought of Cain immediately the scroll began to float into the air unrolled itself and then burnt up in light blue flames, just as Cain said it would.

Immediately Enri felt something in her head click and a voice came through "Hello Enri, are you ok?" his tone carried a note of concern.

Enri blushed lightly at his voice but spoke "I was told to use this scroll by a man named Able; he said to tell you that he is here."

"...Are you serious, Enri are you serious?" the soft concerned tone was gone from Cain's voice and in its place was a cold focus.

"Y-yes Lord Cain he, he came here saying that he needed help." said Enri in a rush trying to avoid upsetting her savior.

"I will be arriving within a few minutes Enri please keep an eye on him." Enri nodded to Cain's order though he wouldn't see it and before she could say anything the connection she felt ended.

Enri remained still for a few minutes her heart thumping a mile a minute Cain's voice was so full of concern and fear for Able…her heart beat picked up even faster as she began imagining things.

Though Able denied it earlier the concern in Cain's voice made Enri's mind run wild with fantasies of Able, the man whose face she had not yet seen, and Cain the master magic caster.

She realized that she couldn't act on her thoughts yet, no matter how they warmed her stomach, because Cain would be here soon and she wanted to be there to find out the truth behind their relationship.

Cain

Cain sighed as he lowered his hand this was getting bothersome Rubedo remained at his side as quite as a mouse as she watched Cain trick Enri.

Cain had already switched to a illusionist load out and now that he could see Enri coming back he cast Physical Illusion creating a fake portal and a fake Cain who exited it in a rush.

His double immediately notice him and hugged him "Able it has been so long my dear little brother!" said the double joyously as it pulled back to arm's length.

Cain saw Enri stop immediately and gapped in shock with a deep blush as he removed his helmet and put it under his arm exposing his face.

"Indeed it has been Cain." Cain replied to his double physically removing his double's arms from him.

The double frowned seemingly hurt for a moment before a kind and happy smile appeared on its face "Enri said that you have need of me?"

Enri cut in before Cain could speak "Y-yes Lord Cain…L-lord Able said that he needed you help to heal my friend."

The double frowned again and turned to Cain "Is this true brother?"

Cain nodded and the double laid a hand on his shoulder before speaking "Then I will help you…I trust that it is somewhat magical in nature?"

Cain nodded and turned to Enri "Enri…please take us to your friend."

Enri nodded and began to walk back to her home as several of her fellow townsmen paused in shock and awe as their village's savior and a nearly identical man walked through the town.

Lizzie who had remained with Nfirea did a double take when she saw the two but quickly and politely greeted Cain as he introduced himself.

"I would appreciate it if you all left the room for this." said the double as it looked over Nfirea.

As everyone started towards the door the double grabbed Cain's shoulder "Not you Able you stay in here…same with you Ruby."

Cain made sure to throw his eyebrows high before narrowing them when Ruby was mentioned Enri and Lizzie both took note of Cain's reaction before leaving the room shutting it gently behind them.

Once the door was sealed Cain took a step forwards and as with his prior test subject snapped his neck the small snap seemed to echo for a moment.

Cain felt the rush again and smiled deeply before he produced a wand of resurrection and without hesitation cast it on Nfirea.

Immediately the fresh corpse became living again taking in long even breaths Cain swapped into a healer class, causing his double to vanish, and checked Nfirea.

Upon confirming that, like Ninya, his level had dropped but outside of that he seemed to be healthy.

Cain waited several minutes savoring the small silence he was allowed before reequipping the Illusionist load out recast Physical illusion respawning his double.

Cain then opened the door and found that the humans had gathered around waiting for him.

Cain's double spoke first "The boy has been healed he should be allowed to rest for now though…he will be weak but given time he will return to his previous level of strength."

Lizzie nodded acceptingly and appreciatively before she slipped past the trio and into the room of her grandson.

Enri was stalling mentally she wanted to thank Cain and Able for their help but seeing the two of them standing together brought forth ideas and thoughts that teased her.

Cain a graceful yet primal demon full of tricks and Able an equally graceful but frigid angle armed with strength.

Cain noticed Enri's blush and slight fidgeting and promptly put his double to work "Enri are you ok you have gone red."

Enri froze her mind snapping back to place "Y-yes I am fine, t-thank you for your concern and for helping Nfirea Lord Cain."

The double frowned slightly but let it go with a nod before it turned to Cain "Brother I trust you know what I want?"

Enri now fully paying attention to the conversation watched as Able nodded in acceptance.

The double smiled happily and placed a hand on Able's shoulder before speaking again "I will see you soon, brother…" the double then turned and smiled much more gently and kindly to Ruby then Enri and continued "I suppose that this is good bye then, it was a pleasure to see you again Enri tell your sister that I wish her well."

Enri nodded quickly and said her own goodbyes as the double opened a portal vanished through it allowing Cain to cancel the illusion.

Enri hesitantly spoke "M-may I pass Lord Able I want to check on Nfirea?" Cain nodded and moved slightly allowing the girl to pass through the door more easily.

Cain sighed he turned to Rubedo and spoke "Come on we are going to talk with the village chief I am going to get us a room for the night."
