If you have read this far, Thank you so much. I enjoyed writing this story so much. If you want a Part 2 set just before Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, please let me know in the review!
The three cousins simply stared at Naraku, almost pitying him. Naraku could no longer stand on his one leg and dropped to the ground. "Who gets the first shot?" Inuyasha said with a smirk. "I will be the only one attacking," Sesshomaru said sternly. "While I am grateful for Tessaiga's assistance, Naraku is mine to finish off," He said as he began to raise Tōkijin. "My ass he's yours!" Inuyasha yelled as he pointed his sword at Sesshomaru. "I'm killing Naraku whether you like it or not! Inuyasha said furiously. "Do not attempt to intimidate me, Inuyasha, half-demon or not you're still no match for me, now lower Tessaiga and leave," Sesshomaru said slightly more agitated. "Will you two please focus on the task at hand?" Azuma said annoyed as he watched his two cousins fight in disbelief. "Quiet Azuma!" They both yelled and continued staring at one another. "I'll settle this right now, we all three attack him at once, if nothing else it will ensure he is destroyed," Azuma said more annoyed as he rolled his eyes and slightly fumed. "No way! I'm killing him so back off both of you!" Inuyasha said yelling at Azuma.
As the three bickered, Naraku silently sent out a message to his incarnation nearby. "Kanna, I require assistance. Come at once," He said telepathically to her. As she began to teleport, Naraku could feel her energy drawing closer and allowed the three to distract themselves with trivial arguing. "Enough!" Sesshomaru said as he rushed toward Naraku. "Damn you Sesshomaru! Inuyasha yelled as he ran towards Naraku drawing Tessaiga back as he ran. "Sesshomaru!" Azuma yelled as he advanced as well. As the three came in, they were forced to divert their courses as an oval mirror appeared above Naraku along with a barrier. "What trick is this?" Azuma asked as he stopped and turn his sword to Naraku. "It's Naraku's barrier!" Inuyasha yelled as he stopped. He tried to attack again but was unable to break through the barrier. Sesshomaru simply stopped and observed calmly though still ready for anything.
The three stood defensively as Naraku began to rise within his barrier. "Once again your pride has distracted you from killing me Inuyasha," Naraku said as he chuckled. "I'll break through your damn barrier!" Inuyasha yelled as he tried to swing Tessaiga again, only managing to hit the barrier again. "Try all you like, you will never penetrate my barrier Inuyasha," Naraku said confidently. "The three of you might have had a chance to defeat me, but you wasted your time arguing amongst yourselves like squabbling children," He said smugly as Kanna began to appear next to him. "We have to attack him together!" Azuma yelled as he readied his sword. "Let's do it!" Inuyasha said as he readied Tessaiga. The two ran at the barrier as fast as they could, hoping that the combined power of Tessaiga, Tōkijin, and Kozawa, all at once, would be enough to destroy it. "Wind Scar!" Inuyasha yelled as his blast roared across the earth. "Yomi Wave!" Azuma yelled as 6 purple and black waves roared toward the barrier. The blasts connected but weren't enough as Naraku began fading.
"We will meet again, and next time I will kill you Inuyasha," Naraku said as he disappeared. As the barrier faded, the blasts went crashing through the forest before dissipating into the air, moments later multiple Saimyōshō flew out of the forest carrying the jewel shards. "Damn it! He got away! Inuyasha yelled as he lowered Tessaiga and caught his breath. As he began breathing normally again he noticed Sesshomaru walking away in the far distance. "Damn you Sesshomaru! Why didn't you attack!" Inuyasha yelled furiously at him as he walked. "I will kill Naraku on my terms, I would never kill him with your assistance. Naraku is mine to kill, so stay out of it Inuyasha" He said coldly as he walked. "Grr, You bastard! Inuyasha yelled as he started to run towards Sesshomaru.
"Inuyasha!" Azuma said sternly, stopping Inuyasha in his tracks. "What?" Inuyasha said annoyed as he turned to glare at Azuma. As he fully turned, he was met by his cousin as Azuma wrapped his arms around Inuyasha and hugged him. "Azuma! What the hell are you doing!" Inuyasha yelled confused as he awkwardly stood there. "I thought you had been killed, dear cousin, I'm so thankful you're alright," Azuma said relieved as he released Inuyasha and looked at him. "Uh, thanks, Azuma?" Inuyasha said flabergasted. Azuma simply chuckled at his cousins' lack of emotional maturity and put Kozawa back in its sheath. "Inuyasha! Lord Azuma!" Kagome yelled as the group came running towards them from the village.
Azuma watched as Kagome ran up to Inuyasha and wrapped him in a hug, crying into his arms. "Inuyasha! I'm so sorry!" She cried as she buried her face into his robe. "I- It's alright Kagome- Y- You don't have to-," Inuyasha said as he awkwardly tried to comfort her. "Lord Azuma are you alright?" Miroku asked as he approached. "Yes, I'm fine, that Naraku filth is quite a bothersome piece of garbage isn't he?" Azuma said slightly smiling.
"We would have killed him if Sesshomaru weren't such an ass!" Inuyasha said annoyed as he grumbled. "Let it go Inuyasha, I don't say this as an insult but it's something you as a half-demon just wouldn't understand," Azuma said as he smiled toward the direction Sesshomaruleft in. "One day I hope Sesshomaru learns to let go of his stubborn pride and embrace the nobility of his heritage while showing humility as well but until then, he would rather let his foe live and flee than accept anyone's help," Azuma said as he nodded his head respectfully and smiled.
"Speaking of foes, what made you guys attack us anyway?" Inuyasha said as he looked at the group. "Demonic spores," Kaede said. "Naraku had infected Kōga days ago, and he spread them to us when he visited yesterday," Miroku said. "He was under Naraku's control as well, but the wore off during the night," Sango said. "I apologize for striking you all while you were possessed," Azuma said humbly as he nodded to them. "Think nothing of it, we had to be stopped while we couldn't control ourselves," Kagome said reassuringly. "I'm glad you're all ok, I was worried you had been taken by that weak demonic filth," Azuma said as he opened his eyes and looked down at Shippō.
"Luckily, you were there Shippō," He said as he knelt to one knee. Shippō shyly peeked his head out from behind Miroku for a second before he ran laughing at Azuma. "Thank you, Lord Azuma! You gave me the courage to do it!" Shippō said as he laughed and hugged Azuma. "No Shippō, you gave yourself the courage. You're quite the brave little fox," Azuma said smiling as he hugged Shippō back. Azuma released Shippō and stood as he looked at the group and smiled. "Inuyasha, promise me something," Azuma said as he looked at him. "Uh, what?" Inuyasha said slightly confused. "Promise me you will never let these wonderful humans leave your side. They are your strongest weapon against Naraku," Azuma said as he smiled and looked Inuyasha eye to eye. Inuyasha, feeling a sense of love for his cousin for the first time in many years, smiled back at him and nodded.
The group stood at the edge of the village, Azuma on one side and the rest on the other. "Are you sure you can't join us, Azuma?" Inuyasha asked as the two shook hands and smiled at one another. "I truly wish I could but sadly my trip was only for a day, I have my dominion to run after all," Azuma said as he shook Inuyasha's hand. "Miss Kagome, meeting you was delightful," Azuma said as he nodded to her. "It was an honor to meet you, Lord Azuma," Kagome said bowing to him respectfully.
"Lord Azuma, if you should ever venture to the mainland again, please come find us. We would be honored to host you again," Miroku said as he politely bowed to him. "Indeed I shall, and I wish the best for you Miroku. I sincerely hope you and Sango have many children together," He said as he smiled at them. "Wait, What have you been telling him?" Sango said aggressively to Miroku as Miroku nervously chuckled. "Nothing, nothing," Miroku nervously said. "He said the two of you were to be wed and you had promised to bear him at least 3 sons," Azuma said as he lowered his head and smiled. "Oh, we're defiantly having a talk you lying pervert!" Sango said as she grabbed him by the ear and dragged him away. Azuma watched them leave and simply smiled at them.
"Well Inuyasha, it's been interesting, to say the least," Azuma said with a smile as he looked his cousin in the eye one last time. "It's never boring when you're around Azuma, I hope to see you again soon," Inuyasha said as the two respectfully bowed to one another. "Goodbye, Lord Azuma" Inuyasha said with a genuine smile on his face. "Farewell, my Dearest Cousin," Azuma said as he bowed and began walking away. "Will we ever see him again?" Shippō asked with tears in his eyes as they watched Azuma walk down the path. "Yeah, I think we will, and next time, if Naraku is still around, he won't stand a chance," Inuyasha said proudly as he watched his cousin disappear over the hill.
