The next morning, everyone sat around the kitchen table eating pancakes that Muriel had prepared.
No one said a word, clearly still spooked from the events that occurred.
However that silence was broken, when Muriel began to sneeze and shake uncontrollably.
"Woah there granny, you feeling alright?' Johnny asked.
"You look very pale Muriel, maybe you should go lay down" said Ashi.
"Muriel, where's my coffee?' Eustace snapped, stuffing his face with more pancakes.
Everyone just rolled their eyes and just focused on Muriel.
"Please allow me to lead you to the couch" said Jack with a smile.
"Oh Jack you're a dear, thank you so much" Muriel said allowing Jack to put an arm around her.
"Ashi, please find me a thermometer" Jack said.
"Okay" ashi said.
"Velma, get her a blanket."
"On it" said Velma before going upstairs.
"Johnny, get me some ice in a ice pack cloth, I think she may be running a fever.'
"You got it" Said Johnny practically running to the freezer.
"Thank you for your kindness Jack Me boy" Said Muriel putting a hand to his cheek.
"It is my pleasure" Jack said with a smile.
For the rest of the day, all of the kids and Courage took turns caring for Muriel. While Eustace just sat around reading his newspaper.
As the hours passed by, it was getting later and Eustace's stomach began to growl.
"Where's my dinner?! You were gonna make Hamburgers!" Eustace said to Muriel as she layed there on the couch shivering and aching from her fever.
"Is there a doctor in the house?' Courage asked as he checked Muriel's thermometer once again.
"Oh Courage you're a dear, same for all of you children" said Muriel.
"Well if your not cooking me dinner, I'm going out to get me something to eat" Eustace said throwing his news paper to the ground.
"It would be lovely if you could get me a scone from the sweet stuffed bakery" Said Muriel.
"Yum, that sounds great" said Ashi.
"Oh, okay" sais Eustace with a groan before grabbing his keys to his truck.
"Could some of you go along with him, he always forgets to get the right thing" Said Muriel.
"Johnny why don't you and Ashi and courage go along. Velma and I will stay with Muriel so she wont be lonely."
'Sounds good to me, I could go for a good burger right about now" said Johnny.
"Would you like us to bring you guys anything back to eat?" Ashi asked.
"Sure, two burger please" said Jack.
"And an extra scone for me please' said Velma.
"You got it babe' said Johnny.
When they were both ready and courage was on his dog leash. All three of them got into the truck and were on their way to get the food.
As Eustace drove, he passed by the bakery at full speed.
"But..But..But" Courage stuttered.
"Mr. Bagge, you passed the bakery" Ashi pointed out.
"Oh shut it, Gotta get me a hamburger first' said Eustace.
Ashi sighed, "Dont worry guys, if grandpa takes to long at the burger place. I'll ask for the keys and we'll go back to the bakery" said Johnny.
