A/N: Here's Chapter 8. I posted my A&O/Avengers crossover day before yesterday and if you're a fan of Avengers, I suggest you check that one out (if you haven't already). It's more of an A&O fic though, but coincides with events from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Half of ALL life disappears. I'm not going to say any more, you check it out if you want, I know it's long, but it's worth it. (I am writing it after all.)
I didn't get very many votes, but the few I did get (poll and elsewhere) came close to a tie. So, I didn't put a lemon in this chapter, but I have an idea for later. PM me or ask me on Discord, if you want to know what it is.
Anyway, Read and Review! (Please?)
Chapter 8 - Set Up
Lillian's POV
I found Kate at the bottom of a hill, standing in place as if she was watching something. "Hey, Kate?" I asked.
Kate turned around to see me coming down the hill, "Hey, Lillian." She muttered, "I almost had him."
I chuckled, "You'll get your chance." I said, "After all…it's not like he's going anywhere. He's needed for tonight."
"What do you mean?" Kate asked, confused.
"Well, I mean, tonight the pack is celebrating his return home." I explained, "So, it would be kinda useless if he wasn't there."
"Oh, I see." Kate replied, then tilted her head, "Do you think we could corner him somehow during the event?"
I smiled, "I think we can arrange that." I answered.
Carol's POV
Sanny and I approached the Alpha Den, when Lillian and a golden-tan she-wolf walked up to us. "Lilly!" I exclaimed, then hugged my youngest daughter, "How was the trip?"
Lillian smiled, "It was fine, Mom." She answered, "…and can you please not call me 'Lilly'? You know I hate that nickname."
I smiled, tenderly, "Did you happen to see Humphrey?" I asked.
Lillian chuckled, "No, but I do know he's here somewhere." She answered.
"How do you know that?" I asked, "Sanny said that the two of you separated before she came across Humphrey."
Lillian gestured towards the golden-tan she-wolf, "This is Kate." She said.
I turned my attention towards her, "You're Kate?" I asked, "The she-wolf who stole my son's heart and smashed his to pieces?"
Kate widened her eyes in shock, "Uhh…" She stammered.
"Mom, she didn't do that on purpose." Lillian butted in, "She didn't even know that Humphrey loved her until after he left Jasper West."
"You're mother is a lot like mine." Kate whispered to Lillian.
"Well, Eve and I were old friends and we wanted what was best for our daughters…if we had any." I explained, taking Kate by surprise.
"You heard me?" She asked.
I chuckled, "Of course." I answered.
Lillian sighed, "Mom's hearing is better than any we've ever witnessed." She said.
"Uhh, anyway…" Kate said, "You're Humphrey's mother?"
I smiled, "Do you see any other she-wolf in the pack using that title?" I asked, rhetorically, "How about we find Humphrey? I'm sure he'd be surprised to see you here."
Kate chuckled, nervously, "He already knows." She said.
I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "She saw Humphrey at the training grounds." Lillian explained, "He…didn't seem very excited to see her."
I smirked, "Knew it." I muttered, "Alright, let's go talk with your father and we'll see what we can do."
The four of us entered the Alpha Den to find Rick still sleeping, "I thought Pack Leaders had to be up early?" Kate wondered, "Why is he still sleeping?"
"I'll wake him up." I said, then lowered my muzzle to Rick's ear. I stuck my tongue into his ear and stretched it as far as I could into it.
"Ahh!" Rick shouted, as he shot awake and stood up. He turned to see me with my tongue sticking out and sighed, "Why do you do that, Carol?" He asked.
I smiled, "It's effective." I answered, then pointed towards Kate, "This is Kate, Dear. She's the one Humphrey fell in love with."
Rick looked over to Kate, "Oh?" He asked, "Is that true?"
"Umm, Sir." Kate said, "I love Humphrey with all my heart and I apologize for what I've unknowingly done to him."
"No, you don't need to apologize, Kate." Rick replied, "The males in my family are quite sensitive. Tell me. Did you ever actually break his heart?"
"Not knowingly." Kate answered.
Rick nodded, "Exactly." He said, "Once one thing happens, it all falls apart for us. In fact, I bet that when he left, he had forgiven you for what you may have done."
"Uhh…" Kate muttered, then frowned, as if she was thinking about something, "That's…yeah, about what happened."
"Sanny and I have a plan to get them together." I said.
"You do?" Kate asked, "…but Humphrey keeps running away from me."
I smiled, "We have a way around that." I said.
Humphrey's POV
I was sitting by a creek in the training grounds, pondering over my encounter with Kate, when that black wolf with red eyes, from earlier, came up to me. "Ah, there you are!" He exclaimed, "I've been looking all over for you. That was a heck of a run you made earlier, you ran with that log and everything."
He sat down beside me with a concerned expression on his face, "You alright, Bud?" He asked.
I sighed, "I don't know." I answered.
"Hm." He grunted, "Is it about that she-wolf who chased you?"
I nodded, as I stared into my reflection in the water, "She, uhh…came here looking for me." I said.
"Why? Did you leave her or something?" He asked.
I shrugged, "I guess you could say that." I answered, "She and I were relocated to Sawtooth to…repopulate, but she had to get home…fast. So, we hopped onto a…
Ten minutes later
"…and that's what happened." I finished, after explaining Kate and I's entire adventure back home from Sawtooth.
"Hmm…" The wolf muttered, "You want my advice?"
"Uhh…sure." I answered.
He leaned towards my ear, "Don't let her get away." He whispered, then pulled away.
"Uhh, what?" I asked, confused, as he stood up.
He smiled, "You heard me." He answered, then walked away, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
Kate's POV
"You are a despicable, conniving-" Rick said, after Carol had explained her plan to him, but was suddenly cut off when she planted her lips against his. Sanny and Lillian groaned in disgust, possibly from the idea of watching their parents makeout, while I just sat there and waited.
Carol pulled away from Rick and he sighed, "Alright." He said, "I-I guess I could turn a blind eye just this once."
Carol smiled, "Thank you, Dear." She replied, then turned to Sanny and I, "Come on, let's go."
We followed her out of the den and she led us to another den, which was slightly smaller, but still plenty of room for two wolves. "Will this do?" Carol asked.
"Humphrey and I don't need a den." I said, "I thought we were just going to get him to talk to me?"
"We are." Sanny answered, "…but with a little more involvement than that."
"What?" I asked, confused.
Humphrey's POV
I left the creek I was sitting by and decided to find my parents to talk to them about Kate. On my way to the Alpha Den, where I assumed they would be, I ran into a gray furred she-wolf with lavender eyes and white paws.
"Hi there!" She greeted, cheerfully.
"Umm, hi." I replied, "Who are you?"
She chuckled, "My name's Lillian." She answered, "Didn't our sister tell you about me?"
I widened my eyes in surprise, "Oh, sorry." I said, "I guess this is kind of awkward for you, isn't it?"
"What do you mean?" Lillian asked.
I shrugged, "Well, you've never met me before." I explained, "I thought that would be awkward for you."
Lillian scoffed, "Why should it be awkward for me to meet my big brother?" She asked.
"Uhh…" I muttered.
"Well, I just wanted you to know something before you black out." She said, "I'm sorry for this."
I looked at her in confusion, "Wait, what?" I asked, then everything suddenly went black.
Kate's POV
Lillian arrived at the den, dragging an unconscious Humphrey behind her, "Is he alright?" I asked, worriedly, "You didn't hurt him, did you?"
"Ah, don't worry." Lillian said, after she placed Humphrey's body in the back of the den, "He didn't feel a thing. He'll wake up in a few moments."
"How's the heat?" Sanny asked, out of the blue.
"What?" I asked, confused. It wasn't super hot out, so I had no idea what she was talking about.
"You know…" Sanny explained, "It's that time of year and everything."
It took me a second to realize what she was talking about, then it hit me, "Oh!" I exclaimed, "Umm…it's, uhh…alright. Started…last night." I answered, then frowned, "Why?"
Sanny smiled, "Just curious." She answered.
Carol leaned towards my ear, "Don't be too rough with him, Kate." She whispered.
I was about to ask what she meant by that, but I was suddenly grabbed by the scruff of my neck and tossed into the den, landing firmly on my stomach. Carol looked up at something above the den, then nodded and a medium-sized rock fell down in front of the den, followed by multiple more. Before I could do anything, the den entrance was blocked by a pile of rocks, save for a small hole near the top, allowing for air to pass through, but too small to escape out of. I groaned in annoyance, "So, this was their plan." I grumbled to myself.
I heard grunting behind me and paws shuffling, "Ohh, my head." Humphrey groaned. I turned around to see him shaking his head, as he stood up, "Where am I?" He muttered, then sniffed, "…and what's that sweet smell?"
I sat my rear down firmly in an attempt to limit the scent of my heat, especially since there's no way to air out the den with the entrance blocked. Humphrey opened his eyes and looked up at me, "Uhh…" He muttered.
"Before you say anything…" I said quickly, before he panicked, "…allow me to explain."
Ten minutes later
I explained in detail how my parents and Garth abolished the law, how Lilly and Garth married to unite the packs, and also…Tony's death. Humphrey seemed to take it quite well, he just sat there and let me speak, not moving a muscle or indicating in any way that he was annoyed, angry, or anything. I still had my rear planted firmly onto the ground, even though my heat was starting to get the better of me, being in an enclosed space with a male.
Humphrey looked around in confusion, "So, umm…where are we?" He asked.
"In a den." I answered, flatly, "Your mother and sister…correction: sisters, set us up."
"Set us up…how?" Humphrey asked.
"I, uhh…wanted their help to get you to listen to me." I explained, "But I think they had other plans for us."
"How so?" Humphrey asked, confused.
"They trapped us in here." I answered.
"Oh." Humphrey muttered, "Well, it's not the end of the world. There's still a small hole, so we can breathe."
"True." I replied.
Humphrey frowned, "Is there something bothering you, Kate?" He asked.
I snapped my head up, "No." I answered, "Nothing wrong at all."
"Something you want to tell me?" Humphrey asked, "I'm your friend. You can tell me anything, Kate. I won't judge."
I sighed, "Well, I've fallen in love." I said.
Humphrey raised an eyebrow at me, "Oh, yeah?" He asked, "With who? Do I know him?"
I chuckled, "I fell in love with an Omega." I said, then mustered my courage, "You."
"You…fell in love with me?" Humphrey asked, "I thought…"
I nodded, "I know." I said, solemnly, "…and I'm sorry about that."
Humphrey smiled, "Well, I…love you too, Kate." He replied, "I realize you were just doing your duty to the pack, so…I forgive you."
I smiled, "Thank you, Humphrey." I said, then stood up, not even thinking about my heat. I laid down beside Humphrey and I felt my heat flare from the sudden close contact. Humphrey stared into my eyes and I slowly moved closer to him.
"Uhh, you're getting awfully close to me, Kate." Humphrey muttered, as my muzzle inched closer to his.
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked, slowly moving my muzzle closer to his, as I closed my eyes.
"I-I don't think…we should…" Humphrey muttered, then gasped, as I raised my foreleg and rested it across his back, "What about…your mother? She'll kill me…if she found out-"
My muzzle connected with his, effectively cutting him off, then I pushed him onto his back and stood over him, without breaking the kiss. I pulled away from him and smiled mischievously, "How about we have some fun?" I asked, my heat now in complete control.
Carol's POV
"Well, that seemed to go well." I said, after listening to their conversation, "How about we give them some privacy?"
"Yeah, I don't need to listen to that." Lillian muttered, while Sanny nodded, as we heard Humphrey groan from inside the den.
The three of us left and headed to the Alpha Den for the night with the intent to free the two lovers in the morning after their 'session'. We found Rick laying down in the den, waiting for us.
"How'd it go, girls?" He asked.
I smiled, as I laid down beside him, "I think Humphrey is in for a rough ride tonight." I said.
Lillian groaned, "Did you have to put it so bluntly?" She asked, "That's disgusting. Now I can't get that image out of my head."
I chuckled, "Sorry, Sweetie." I said.
Rick laid his head down onto his paws, "I'm going to take a quick nap." He muttered.
I rested my head on the back of his neck, "Alright, Dear." I whispered.
"Why are you always napping?" Lillian asked.
"I'm lazy." Rick answered, "That's why."
"I'm going to go visit Cody." Sanny said, "I'll see you later, Mom."
"Okay." I replied, "Make sure you let me know if I'm going to be a grandma anytime soon, Sweetie."
Sanny groaned in annoyance, "Really, Mom?!" She exclaimed, making the rest of us chuckle before she left.
Eve's POV
After a week of no word from Kate, I decided to leave Jasper to try and find her. I had got off the train in what I believed was Sawtooth and found her scent mixed in with another female's. I followed the scents for about a whole day until I came across a mountain, where I lost their scents, but there were scrapes along the mountain side, indicating someone sledded down the hill in a log. After climbing down the mountain, I found Kate's scent again and continued following it.
I was somewhere in what I believed was Yellowstone, when I was suddenly pinned down by a wolf. "Get off of me!" I growled, "…or I'll tear you to pieces!"
"Nice to see you again…Eve." The wolf growled in my ear. I froze in shock, once I recognized the voice.
A/N: What will happen next? Who was that wolf that Eve recognized? Will Humphrey survive the night and Kate's heat? So many questions, yet so little time. Please Review!
I am pretty much out of data this month already. Some months I don't use anywhere near my allotted amount, while some I use it all up within the first two weeks. Which happens to be the case in this instance. So, I will continue writing through the remainder of the month, the last two chapters for this story included, as well as Secret Agent Humphrey: Hunted, for those of you who have been waiting for it. Got 100 Views on SAH: Annihilation and plenty of messages talking about it, so I'll write the next one.
I'll post everything starting on the 25th, so till then,

P.S. As of today (May 8th, 2021), it's been 6 months since I posted the first five chapters of Kate and Lilly Reversed, which is still my best story so far at 3,700+ Views as of this moment and my first somewhat full-length chapter story.
