Mono opened his eyes and saw that he was alive. The locker door swung open at the last possible second, preventing him from becoming a fleshy pancake.
"Mono?" A muffled voice called. It was Five. "Mono, are you okay?"
"I'm fine!" Mono called back. "Just a bit stuck! Help me out!" Mono began to push on the locker as Five lifted with all her strength. Soon, with their combined muscle power, they managed to lift the locker up just enough for Mono to roll out from underneath. He sat up and looked around.
"Wait...where are Six and Benny?" He asked. Five stared at him, tears in her eyes.
"These-these things! They looked like kids but...weren't! They took Six and Benny!" Mono stood up and said, "We've got to find them. Did you see where they went?" Five nodded and pointed down a hallway behind her.
"That way." She said. "Please help me find them, Mono. I'm scared." Mono nodded and walked down the hallway, Five behind him. The two came across an open door but that wasn't what had Mono shocked. It was the porcelain doll thing with it's back turned to them.
"That's one of the things that took Six and Benny." Five whispered. The thing heard it and turned around, relieving a hollow face. It charged at Mono, who picked up the nearest thing, a hammer. He swung it at the doll and it smashed through its face. The thing collapsed to the ground as Mono and Five stared at it, wide eyed. The two kids proceeded through the door to find another doll creature poking and prodigy a dead frog in a room with a pile of desks and chairs. Mono readied his new weapon and-
Creeeeeeeeeeeeak…
Mono winced as the floor squeaked when his put his foot down. The doll stood up, turned towards Mono and ran at them. Mono looked down, looked back up at the doll as it triggered its own trap, sending another bucket hurdling from the ceiling and smashing the doll into the wall.
"C'mon." Mono said. They continued to explore until they heard a loud taping noise. Mono crept closer to see 12 dolls sitting in desks staring at an insanely tall woman, who was writing something on a chalkboard. He silently darted back to Five and whispered, "Can't go this way." They turned to an elevator but noticed a lock on the slot with all the buttons.
"Okay... Maybe we do go this way." Mono said. The two silently sneaked passed the class, using the desks in the back as cover from the woman, who Mono guessed was a teacher, when she occasionally turned around to read in a textbook on her desk. Mono and Five made it to a storage closet and found two things, a key resting on the top of a shelf and Benny, tied and gagged, on the floor. He looked up at Mono as he untied the ropes around Benny's hands and feet. Once he removed the gag, Benny gasped and said, "Thanks, Mono."
"No problem." Mono replied.
"Well, a little bit of a problem, considering we're trapped in a school filled with very naught students." Benny said with a smirk. Mono chuckled, needing the humor, before asking, "Where's Six?"
"I don't know. The dolls carried me to the classroom and took Six elsewhere." Five tried to climb the shelf but it tipped over. Five jumped off and avoided being crushed but the shelf landed with a loud CRASH! The sound of a half screech, half chitter, called out as heavy footsteps approached the closet.
"Hide. HIDE!" Mono whispered, ducking inside an overturned box. Benny hid in the corner next to the door and Five hid behind the fallen shelf. The teacher opened the door but instead of stepping through, she extended her neck in a series of cracking and popping noises. Mono watch, horrified, as the head of the teacher explored the room before returning to her body before shutting the door. Mono poked is head out of the box as Benny and Five left their hiding spots. Benny seemed to be the only one slightly unfazed by the gruesome sight, perhaps because he'd seen this before. Mono crept towards the door and looked the crack. There, he saw the teacher walking around the classroom.
"Okay" He said. "We can't get out this way but..." He walked over to a small vent and gave it a tug. It popped off and on the other side was a cabinet in the back big enough for the kids to squeeze through. Mono motioned for Five and Benny to follow and, after Benny grabbed the key, they all climbed through. Mono poked his head out from the cabinet and after watching the teacher carefully, he motioned for Five and Benny to climb out. They rushed to the back and almost made it when they were spotted. Mono turned to see a screaming teacher head rushing towards them.
"RUN!" He shouted as he barely dodged the teacher's head as it tried to bite him. The dolls jumped out of their seats and chased after the kids. Benny ran ahead and unlocked the button pad.
"Which one do I push?!" He called.
"I DON'T KNOW! JUST PUSH ONE!" Mono shouted. Benny pressed a button and the door to the elevator opened. They all ran/clambered into the elevator. A doll reached out to grab Five but the door closed on it's porcelain arm, severing it. The arm fell to the ground and shattered as the elevator went up. The kids collapsed to the ground and panted.
"This," Mono said. "Is why I don't like school" Five and Benny, feeling exhausted and little shaken, laughed at Mono's bad joke as the elevator carried them upwards.
A/N: Whew! another chapter down. Also, quick question, if I delete a document used in a story, will that affect the story? I kinda have a lot of documents but am scared to delete some...
