Before beginning with this chapter. I'll try and answer some questions.
Why in another chapter did I use "nephews" for referring to Eli and Noah together? Well, in Spanish we use the word "sobrinos" whenever there are more than one, even if there's a girl and a boy. That word means "nephew". Yes, the plural masculine is used to generalize in this kind of situations. This morning I asked in Facebook for a similar word and you said "niblings" but the problem is that is not used on a day-to-day basis so... From now on I'll use "niece" and "nephew" when referring to both at the same time.
SMM: Thanks for leaving a name! In this and tomorrow's chapter, we'll see more of their relationship!
That's it. Now, let's dive into this chapter!

Gracias Danny, por darme esta oportunidad!
The next day, it was her day off and it coincided with the dance, it seemed as if the planets had aligned to allow her to go. "Or maybe they aligned for my funeral," she thought as she pulled up outside her house and saw Edward's car parked.
Usually, by this time, he would have left for wherever he was going, especially on a Friday night. They rarely coincided so she was surprised to see him there, even though she knew Mrs. Cope should already be inside with the children. The lights out in the room were not a good sign either. With trembling hands she put the key in the lock, feeling ridiculously nervous as if she had done something wrong. Taking a deep breath she repeated to herself that she was a grown woman and hadn't been doing anything out of place, but before the lock could be unlocked, Edward opened the door.
Tall, handsome, broad, and impeccably dressed, his scent even hit her like a thousand volts, so Bella took a step back, feeling instantly shy. His hair looked like it had waged a war against his hands, dishevelled and tousled, his fierce green eyes locked on her.
"Where were you?" His tone. Isabella closed her eyes before pulling herself together and managing to walk past him without answering. He wasn't her father; she didn't have to explain herself to him.
Feeling him behind her was like living in a horror movie where the bad guy is coming after you. Bella's heart skipped a beat as she ran to the children's room, but before she entered, Edward grabbed her arm tightly, stopping her in her tracks and forcing her to face him.
"Let me go." She struggled against his grip, but Edward held her hands.
"I asked you a question."
"You don't care. You've never cared what I do."
"Are you like this just because I won't go with you to that stupid dance?"
"It doesn't matter that you won't, I told you I'm going with Emmett."
Bella pulled at his hands again but gave up when she saw that he wouldn't let go, on the contrary, he pulled her closer, forcing her hands around his neck. He looked like a huge predator, so the brunette nibbled nervously on her lip as she felt trapped. At that moment Edward smiled crookedly, knowing his small triumph, he leaned towards her and, despite smelling of whisky, sighed at her natural scent underneath it all, he nuzzled her neck with his nose, making her hold her breath.
"I- I'm tired of your mood changes, Edward."
"You know well how much I detest such events." He purred, his throat somehow emulating the sound as he sucked against her neck, setting her body aflame at his nearness and the slide of his nose against her sensitive skin.
"Why can't you give in once?"
"Before we got married, I told you it would be like this, I'm not going to change it." The words were firm and velvety.
Bella froze in place, again the pain and sadness hit her, perhaps he noticed it because his eyes glowed differently, and when large hands embraced her waist, Bella couldn't help the gasp of surprise that left her lips. Then he kissed her, pressing her against his body and possessing her in a way Isabella had never experienced before.
His lips, firm and warm, managed to take over not only her mouth but her thoughts, and when she least expected it, she found her hands buried in that messy hair, her tongue seeking her husband's, stealing a deep moan of satisfaction. The sensation made the woman's heart skip a beat and, at the same time, burst into flames.
As if sensing she wasn't breathing, he interrupted the kiss only to brush his lips across her cheek on his way to her ear, where he captured the soft lobe between his teeth and nibbled on it, before pressing gently against her, pressing his erection against her belly. Bella heard a moan in the distance and when she noticed him curving his lips next to her ear in a silent smile, she realised too late that it was hers.
"Where have you been?" He pressed kissing her neck, creating a trail of fire where his lips passed.
"I just went out to distract myself... I... I..."
And then she remembered where she'd been and why she'd left home in such a hurry. He never gave in, so why would she let him continue to undress her in the hallway? She didn't want to be the one to give in again. Call it a whim or not, but this time she would not give in, not to not going to the dance, not to the reactions of her body beginning to melt against her husband's and his touch.
Edward apparently hated everything but being intimate with her, which could be a gain or a condemnation. Taking a breath of air, the young woman slipped out of his grasp, leaving him bewildered, before hurrying into the twins' room and sheltering there until dawn.
O~O~O~O
"Come on, Bella, take that face off." Rosalie brushed her friend's hair, defining beautiful waves at the ends of her hair.
"I don't know what I'm doing, Rose, I shouldn't be here giving Edward so many reasons to keep…"
"To do what, Bella? Tell me." She looked at her through the mirror. "Tell me please, what's going on between you two? I haven't known you very long, and I don't want to offend you, darling, but it looks like you two are heading for an imminent divorce." The brunette closed her eyes tightly.
"I don't want to talk about him, Emmett will be picking us up shortly, we have to hurry." Her friend nodded, her eyes sparkling briefly at the mention of her brother-in-law.
Isabella shook her head and, with it, Edward from her thoughts, and instead smiled, looking at herself in the mirror. After a while, Rose finished styling and applying her make-up. Then, the young woman dressed in the dress she had bought in vain to go out with her husband, and as she looked at herself in the full-length mirror, she smiled openly.
"Oh my God, you can do miracles, Rosalie."
"They aren't miracles." The young woman smiled at her before she began to put on her make-up. "It's just that you don't see yourself as you really are." Bella just rolled her eyes.
After a while, Emmett came for them, and although her friend disguised her reaction to seeing a very handsome Emm in a jacket and tie quite well, Bella had only known her relatively recently, when she had been transferred to her clinic, but it was enough to know that she was amazed.
Later, when they arrived at the university and although Rosalie was at her side, while she was firmly attached to her brother-in-law's arm, Isabella couldn't help but feel out of place.
The alumni reunion was obviously in the school's gymnasium, which had been decorated quite elegantly, although Bella didn't think they could pull it off, it was quite graded how they had changed, not only their classmates but the school itself. Large balls of coloured lights hung from the ceiling, and soft smoke drifted across the floor, moving balloons like leaves from one side to the other. The low visibility served to hide her from the gazes of curious onlookers, who were no doubt waiting to see her arrive with Edward.
"The one thing I hate about this kind of party is that it's more like a gossip rag, with everyone wanting to catch up on everyone's past." Emmett muttered.
"I know. James said it would be fun, although the prying eyes are giving me hives." Rosalie said.
Bella sighed, looking at her former classmates and even some teachers, why the hell had she come here? She wasn't having fun, she couldn't stop thinking about him, about her children. She even wondered if she had been bitten by a fly, she was about to back out of the whole thing when she was grabbed by the arm.
"I thought you couldn't possibly look more beautiful." James smiled and winked at her, obviously making her blush.
"Thank you. You look incredible too." Rosalie cleared her throat next to her.
"And what about me?" James rolled his eyes and leaned closer to his friend before planting a kiss on her cheeks.
"Beautiful is an understatement."
"I don't want to accept it, but that guy really isn't one of my favourites." Emmett whispered in her ear, making her smile.
"He's always been this effusive."
"Aha..." Isabella smiled, staring at her brother-in-law in disbelief.
"Don't tell me you're getting the Cullen thing?" Emm raised both eyebrows before bursting out laughing.
"I suppose. Edward's always had it in for the guy, and since he hates everything, I didn't think it was true…"
"Edward mentions James?" She asked with a frown, making him sigh.
"We should go dancing," he said holding her hand, "after all we're here to have fun, aren't we?
Bella smiled, shaking her head. Yes, that's what she'd come for, and there was no place for her husband here.
So, the dance has just begun. What will happen? For now, we see that Edward is still the same idiot from the last chapter.
