Thanks to the support and company of the gang, Belle felt a little better, but she was still saddened by the fact that she was now the prisoner of a beast.
Then, someone knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" asked Belle.
"Mrs. Potts, dear." said Mrs. Potts from behind the door. Belle got up and opened the door, letting her and the rest of the tea set in. "I thought you might like a spot of tea."
While the gang was surprised to see them, the most surprised was Belle, due to the fact that, to her, it was a talking, moving tea set.
"But you're… You're a…" said Belle backing up until she bumped into the wardrobe.
"Ooh! Careful!" said the wardrobe, startling her even more.
"This is impossible…" said Belle sitting up in bed.
The wardrobe leaned against the bed.
"I know it is, but here we are!. Although, in my opinion, I'm surprised that you're surprised, since you're accompanied by those talking creatures." said the wardrobe.
"Actually, we're surprised too." said Littlefoot.
"I told you she was pretty, Mama, didn't I?" asked Chip.
"All right, now, Chip. That'll do." said Mrs. Potts as she poured tea and sugar on him before he went hopping over to Belle. "Slowly, now. Don't spill!" said Mrs. Potts as Belle sat down on the floor to catch him.
"Thank you." said Belle before taking some tea.
"Wanna see me do a trick?" asked Chip before taking a deep breath and pressing on himself, blowing bubbles in the tea he contained.
The gang couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Chip!" said Mrs. Potts scolding her son.
"Oops. Sorry." said Chip.
"That was a very brave thing you did, my dear." said Mrs. Potts.
"We all think so." said the wardrobe.
"But I've lost my father, my dreams, everything." said Belle in a depressed tone.
"You still have us." said Littlefoot approaching her.
Belle smiled before stroking the head of the longneck.
"Yes. That's true." said Belle.
"You certainly have some very good friends, my dear. Very brave friends." said Mrs. Potts making the gang smile. " Cheer up, children. It'll turn out all right in the end. You'll see. Ooh, listen to me… jabbering on while there's a supper to get on the table. Chip!"
Chip jumped out of Belle's hand and went to his mother.
"Bye!" said Chip leaving the room with the rest of the tea set.
"Bye, Chip." said Ducky waving goodbye to the cup.
"Well now, what shall we dress you in for dinner? Let's see what I've got in my drawers." said the wardrobe before opening her doors, causing several moths to fly out. She quickly slammed the doors shut as Chomper ate a couple of those moths. " Oh! How embarrassing. Here we are." she opens one door and with the other using it as an arm, grabbed a pink dress. "Ah! There, you'll look ravishing in this one!"
"That's very kind of you, but I'm not going to dinner." said Belle refusing the dress.
"Neither do we." said Littlefoot seriously.
"Oh, but you must!" said the wardrobe surprised at their answer.
At that moment, Cogsworth came through the door.
"Ahem, ahem, ahem. Dinner…is served." said Cogsworth.
Belle was about to tell him about their refusal of dinner, but...
"Ahem." cleared Cera's throat, getting her attention. "Let me handle this." said Cera.
Outside the room, all looked quiet, until Cogsworth was seen being tossed out the door into the hallway. When he got up, he turned around to see the door being closed.
"A simple 'no' would have sufficed for me. What a brute of a young lady." said Cogsworth as he rubbed the side of his butt. "Oh. Master isn't going to like this at all." said Cogsworth with slight fear.
In the dining room, the beast was pacing back and forth in front of the fire and near a table filled with plates of all kinds of food. At the fireplace counter were Lumiere and Mrs. Potts.
"What's taking so long? I told them to come down. Why aren't they here yet?!" asked the beast angrily and impatiently.
"Oh, try to be patient, sir. The girl has lost her father and her freedom all in one day." said Mrs. Potts.
"Uh, master. Have you thought that, perhaps, this girl could be the one to break the spell?" asked Lumiere.
"Of course I have. I'm not a fool." said the beast angrily.
"Good. You fall in love with her, she falls in love with you, and… Poof!... the spell is broken! We'll be human again by midnight!" said Lumiere.
"Oh, it's not that easy, Lumiere. These things take time." said Mrs. Potts.
"But the rose has already begun to wilt." said Lumiere.
"It's no use. She's so beautiful, and I'm so…well, look at me!" said the beast.
Lumiere shrugged at the beast's point.
"Oh, you must help her to see past all that. Besides, you must remember that she isn't alone." said Mrs. Potts.
"You mean because of those creatures that accompany her?" asked the beast, referring to the gang.
"Yes. From what I've seen, I'd say they get along very well. So if you want to make her fall in love with you, you must make friends with them." said Mrs. Potts.
"I don't know how." said the beast.
Mrs. Potts gave him a straight face as she hopped off the counter and onto the table.
"Well, you can start by making yourself more presentable. Straighten up, try to act like a gentleman." said Mrs. Potts.
"Ah yes. And as for the children, it will be enough if, when they comes in, give them a dashing, debonair smile. Come, come. Show me the smile." said Lumiere.
However, the beast flashed them a toothy, terrifying smile.
"But don't frighten them." said Mrs. Potts.
"Impress them with your rapier wit." said Lumiere coming up to the table.
"But be gentle." said Mrs. Potts.
"Shower them with compliments." said Lumiere.
"But be sincere." said Mrs. Potts.
"And above all…" began Lumiere.
"You must control your temper!" said Lumiere and Mrs. Potts in unison.
Just then, the door was heard to open.
"Here she is." said Lumiere.
The beast looked towards the door nervously. However, the one who peeked through the door was Cogsworth, who looked very nervous.
"Good evening." said Cogsworth.
Instantly, the beast goes from nervous to angry.
"Well, where are they?" asked the beast.
"Who? Oh, ha-ha-ha! The girl. Yes, the girl and her friends. Well, actually, they're in the process of, uh, um, circumstances being what they are, uh… they're not coming." said Cogsworth fearing for what would happen.
From outside the dining room...
"WHAT?!" shouted the beast along with a roar so loud it was heard from outside the dining hall.
The beast burst out of the dining room and ran on all fours towards Belle and the gang's room, with the three living objects in pursuit.
"Your grace! Your eminence! Let's not be hasty!" shouted Cogsworth trying to stop the beast.
When he reaches the room, the first thing he does is bang loudly on the door.
"I thought I told you to come down to dinner!" shouted the beast.
"We're not hungry." said Belle from behind the door.
"You'll come out or I'll…I'll…I'll break down the door!" said the beast trying to threaten them.
"Master, I could be wrong, but that may not be the best way to win the girl's affections." said Lumiere being calm and polite.
"Please! Attempt to be a gentleman." pleaded Cogsworth.
"But she is being so…difficult!" said the beast very angrily.
"Gently, gently." said Mrs. Potts.
With no other choice, he decided to heed the teapot. "Will you come down to dinner?" asked the beast gently.
Instead of an answer, the door opened a little. The living objects rejoiced thinking they had made some progress, but the one who peeked through the door was Cera.
"Yeah... About the dinner..." began Cera before sticking her tongue out at the beast and slamming the door shut.
"Why you little...!" began the beast very angrily.
"Sir, please, she's a child!" said Mrs. Potts stopping him from saying something he shouldn't.
"She's started it!" said the beast responding like a child.
"Okay. Suave, genteel." said Cogsworth.
"It would give me great pleasure if you would join me for dinner." said the beast bowing in front of the door while containing his anger in his voice.
"Ahem, ahem, we say 'please'." said Cogsworth mentioning an important detail.
"Please." said the beast.
"No, thank you." said Littlefoot angrily.
"You can't stay in there forever!" said the beast very angrily.
"Yes, we can! Yep, yep, yep!" said Ducky.
"Fine! Then go ahead and STARVE!" shouted the beast before turning to the objects. "If they don't eat with me, then they don't eat at all!" said the beast before leaving, slamming the door so hard that the entire hallway shook and a piece of the ceiling fell on Lumiere.
"Oh, dear. That didn't go very well at all, did it?" asked Mrs. Potts.
"Lumiere, stand watch at the door and inform me at once if there is the slightest change." said Cogsworth before Lumière positioned himself in front of the door.
"You can count on me, mon capitan." said Lumiere with a military salute.
"Well, we might as well go downstairs and start cleaning up." said Cogsworth leaving with Mrs. Potts as Lumiere circled by the door.
Meanwhile, the beast entered his lair.
"I ask nicely, but they refuses." said the beast pushing a toppled chair out of his way. "What a…what do they want me to do… beg?" asked the beast before grabbing his magic mirror. "Show me the girl and her friends."
The magic mirror began to glow green and reveals Belle and the gang in their room next to the wardrobe.
"But the master's not so bad once you get to know him. Why don't you give him a chance?" asked the wardrobe trying to change their minds.
"I don't want to get to know him. I don't want to have anything to do with him!" said Belle.
"Yes. After the way he's treated us, he's not going to get anything from us." said Littlefoot.
The beast couldn't take it anymore and pushed the mirror away from his sight.
"I'm just fooling myself. They'll never see me as anything…but a monster." said the beast leaving the mirror next to a crystal bell containing the enchanted rose, which dropped one of its petals. "It's hopeless."
Later, in Belle and the gang's room, they were still holding firm to their earlier decision. The wardrobe, finding his attempts to convince them futile, decided to stand off to the side and rest.
"Hey, do you think we did good?" asked Ducky.
"Sure we did. That beast locks us in, takes Belle away from her father, and now he asks us to go to dinner with him? Thank you, but no." said Cera.
"I agree with you, Cera." said Belle crossing her arms.
"But me starting to get hungry." said Petrie.
"Yeah, me too." said Littlefoot.
Spike seemed to agree, as he licked his lips from hunger.
"Well. At least it's better than having dinner friends." said Ruby.
"What's wrong with having dinner friends? I like it." said Chomper to Ruby confused by what she said earlier.
The gang turned to Chomper in surprise. Then, after a brief moment of silence, they began to laugh. Chomper wondered what was so funny, and suddenly realized he accidentally made a joke, so he laughed too.
Chomper
Friends for dinner.
I'm gonna have friends for dinner.
I'm gonna get a couple of those,
a couple of these,
things from the bushes,
and things from the trees,
I think they're yucky,
But I know they'll please my friends for dinner.
The gang
Friends for dinner.
Littlefoot
He just wants to have friends for dinner.
Cera
He wants to have Threehorn soup.
Petrie
And Littlefoot stew.
Cera
You won't think it's funny when he chews on you.
Ruby
That's not a very nice thing to do.
The gang
To have friends for dinner!
Littlefoot
He can't eat vegetables, only meat.
Cera
He'll munch and he'll crunch those little duck feet.
Petrie
If he just eats Spike…
Chomper
Wouldn't that be enough?
Ducky
He would spit out Cera.
Ruby
'Cause she's too tough!
"Hey!" exclaimed Cera offended.
The gang
Friends for dinner.
Don't wanna be friends for dinner.
Ducky
We'd rather sink in the mud,
Petrie
fall out of the tree,
Cera
roll like a rock right into the sea.
The gang
One thing we know we don't wanna be is friends for dinner.
Chomper silently inspected the drawers of the wardrobe, put on a hat and a little dress and began to dance, but Belle took them off and put them back before shaking her finger like a mother scolding a child.
Neither of them knew the wardrobe was awake, as she opened one of her eyes slightly and smiled at the amusing scene.
Cera
He'll gnaw your arm and he'll nibble your leg.
Littlefoot
But we've known Chomper since he was an egg.
Petrie
He'll bite off your beak.
Ruby
That would hurt.
Cera
Petrie pot pie.
Petrie
And Ruby dessert.
The gang
Friends for dinner.
Don't wanna be friends for dinner.
Ruby
Don't wanna be Spike a la mode.
Petrie
Or Liver of Duck.
Littlefoot
I wonder if this tastes good.
(He licks a pillow)
The gang, including Belle
Yuck!
Cera
You know you've run out of luck.
The gang
When you're friends for dinner'.
Chomper
Friends for dinner.
Littlefoot
Just friends for dinner.
The gang
Friends for dinner!
Everyone, including Belle, began to laugh loudly, but stopped when Belle's stomach began to growl. The gang turned their gaze to her, which made her blush with embarrassment. The wardrobe was doing her best not to laugh, as she continued to maintain her role as a normal wardrobe.
"Heh. I guess I can't help it. Why don't we go to the kitchen and get something for dinner?" said Belle.
"But the beast said if we didn't dine with him, we wouldn't dine at all." said Ruby.
"Well, that beast doesn't send me. Besides, I'm hungry too." said Cera.
"But it can be dangerous." said Petrie.
"Then we just have to get into the kitchen without him knowing. What do you think?" asked Littlefoot.
"Sounds like a good idea to me." said Belle.
"So do I. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky along with a nod from Spike.
"It's better than doing nothing and starving." said Chomper.
Belle opened the door a little and glanced around to see nothing and no one. She gave the signal to advance and she and the gang left the room stealthily.
Unnoticed, next door, behind some curtains, there was someone.
"Oh no!" said Featherduster.
"Oh yes!" said Lumiere.
"Oh no!" said Featherduster.
"Oh yes, yes, yes!" said Lumiere.
Featherduster burst out laughing as she stepped out from behind the curtains.
"I've been burnt by you before!" said Featherduster with Lumiere coming out too and grabbing her in his arms.
But then, he looked up and seeing Belle and the gang, he accidentally drops Featherduster.
"Zut alors! They have emerged!" said Lumiere.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Mrs. Potts was with Chip near a cupboard where more mugs were sleeping.
"Come on, Chip. Into the cupboard with your brothers and sisters." said Mrs. Potts putting her son into the cupboard.
Chip let out a yawn. "But I'm not sleepy." said Chip very tired.
"Yes, you are." said Mrs. Potts before closing the cupboard door.
"No, I'm…not." said Chip falling asleep.
"I work and I slave all day, and for what? A culinary masterpiece gone to waste." said Stove.
"Oh, stop your grousing." said Mrs. Potts jumping over to another table. "It's been a long night for all of us."
"Well, if you ask me, she was just being stubborn. Just like her friends, especially the one with the horn. Seriously, I'm going to feel that for days. And that he did say 'please'." said Cogsworth.
"But if the master doesn't learn to control that temper, he'll never break the…" began Mrs. Potts before Belle and the gang were seen entering the kitchen.
"Splendid to see you out and about, messieurs. I am Cogsworth, head of the household." said Cogsworth as Lumiere ran into the kitchen. Belle leaned over for him to kiss her hand as a sign of chivalry, but Lumiere stepped between him and Belle. "This is Lumiere."
"En chante, cherie." said Lumiere before kissing Belle's hand.
"If there's… stop that… anything that we… please… can do to make your stay more comfortable." said Cogsworth trying to push away Lumiere who was still kissing Belle's hand and when he did, he burned his hand with his lit candle. "Ow!"
"We're a little hungry." said Belle.
"Yes. We weren't quite thinking when we refused supper." said Littlefoot.
"We're very hungry." said Chomper.
Mrs. Potts turned back to where the cupboard was. "You are? Hear that? She's hungry. Stoke the fire…" said Mrs. Potts as Stove lit the fire. "Break out the silver, wake the china." said Mrs. Potts as a pile of spoons, forks and knives poked out from the drawers.
"Remember what the master said." whispered Cogsworth referring to the beast's orders.
"Oh, pish tosh." said Mrs. Potts jumping onto the table with the rest of the tea set. "I'm not going to let the poor children go hungry."
"Oh, all right. Glass of water, crust of bread, and then…" Cogsworth began.
"Cogsworth, I am surprised at you. They're not our prisoners. They're our guests! We must make their feel welcome here. Right this way, mademoiselle and messieurs." said Lumiere leading Belle and the gang into the dining room.
"Well keep it down. If the master finds out about this, it will be our necks!" said Cogsworth going to follow them.
"Of course, of course. But what is dinner without a little music?" asked Lumiere as the door closed.
Then the door hit Cogsworth and sends him across the room. "MUSIC?!" asked Cogsworth before falling into a bowl of mushy food.
Belle and the gang approached the table on which stood Lumiere, who was illuminated by a spotlight.
"Ma chere, mademoiselle. It is with deepest pleasure and greatest pride that I welcome you tonight. And now, we invite you to relax. Let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents…your dinner." said Lumiere.

"Bravo! That was wonderful!" exclaimed Belle impressed and overjoyed.
"I would never have thought a dinner party would be so amazing and fun!" said Littlefoot.
"And besides, there are lots of dishes with lots of food to try!" said Chomper.
"Yep, yep, yep! It's the best show I've ever seen!" exclaimed Ducky along with a nod from Spike.
"I'll admit it. That wasn't bad at all!" said Cera.
"Thank you, thank you, messieurs. Yes, good show, wasn't it?" asked Cogsworth. "Everyone!" said Cogsworth before letting out a yawn and looking at the hands on his face. "Oh, my goodness, look at the time. Now, it's off to bed, off to bed!"
"Oh, I couldn't possibly go to bed now." said Belle.
"So would we, since we've never been in an enchanted castle before." said Littlefoot.
"Me think enchanted castle scary, but turn out to be fun." said Petrie.
"Enchanted? Who said anything about the castle being enchanted?" asked Cogsworth as a fork walked past him and Lumiere. "It was you, wasn't it!?" asked Cogsworth pointing accusingly at Lumiere and the two began to bicker.
"Well. You're two talking, moving objects. It was simple to see that." said Chomper.
The two living objects stopped and looked at Chomper before separating.
"I'd like to look around." said Belle.
"I'd like to, too. If it's okay, of course." said Littlefoot.
"Oh! Would you like a tour?" asked Lumiere volunteering.
"Wait a second, wait a second. I'm not sure that's such a good idea." said Cogsworth before speaking confidentially to Lumière. "We can't let her go poking around in certain places, if you know what I mean."
Belle and Littlefoot looked at each other, worried about not being able to explore in the castle, but then, Belle had an idea.
"Perhaps you could take me. I'm sure you know everything there is to know about the castle." said Belle.
"Well, actually, ah yes, I do!" said Cogsworth flattered by Belle's words.
"Then can we explore the castle, please?" asked Littlefoot understanding his human friend's idea.
Cogsworth looked around to see the gang giving him pleading eyes. Cogsworth tried to resist, but groaned as he found he couldn't.
"All right, fine. You can explore the castle, but don't do anything without my say-so. Got it?" asked Cogsworth.
"I'm fine with that, since you're the one who's going to lead us." said Ruby.
"Exactly. Anyway, let's..." began Cogsworth, but then, they all heard a powerful roar that made Cogsworth start to panic. "Ah! It's the master!" shouted Cogsworth panicking.
Ducky covered her mouth as she laughed. "No. No. It's not the beast. It's just Spike's stomach." said Ducky pointing to her brother, who was looking at a pie with desire.
Then the stomachs of the others began to rumble.
"Hehe. We were so focused on the show and exploring that we forgot why we came." said Littlefoot.
"That's right." said Belle.
"Don't worry about it. You enjoy your dinner. Once you're done, we'll take the tour of the castle" said Lumiere.
They all agreed with the candelabra and sat down at the table to enjoy the dinner that the living objects had prepared. Without a doubt, for them, it had been the best dinner of their lives.
