Chapter 6: The Entrance Exams

Izuku continued training with OFA while Izumi and Yoshito continued training as well. And just like that, the day of the entrance exams was finally here. Izuku hadn't changed as far as muscles, but his quirk had improved. As of now he could control up to 10% of his power without injury. Good thing he was working out since he was 10 years old, otherwise he would have to spend the 10 months working on his muscles, and he would have a hard time controlling the quirk. As he walked to the entrance, he saw Izumi and Yoshito waving at him.

"Hey dude come on!" Yoshito said, "The exam is about to begin!"

Izuku started running up to his friends. Suddenly he tripped on a rock. He closed his eyes and awaited the impact, but it never came. He opened his eyes and saw himself floating. He turned to see a round faced girl with permanent blush marks on her face.

"Are you okay?" Said a female voice.

The girl then plopped Izuku back on his feet.

"Sorry I should've asked to use my quirk on you first, but it would be bad luck to fall on your first day," she said, "This test has me nervous, but I'm sure I'll do my best."

"Right," Izuku said.

"Well, I'll see you in there," she said running in.

Izuku was blushing as it was his first time ever talking to a girl other than his sister. Izuku turned over to see Izumi and Yoshito grinning at him.

"Looks like someone's got a new hot pocket," Izumi teased.

They all entered the building and took the written portion. LAter on all the contestants were in the auditorium to listen to the second portion of the exam. It was given by none other than Present Mic. Izuku was muttering about how cool he was while Izumi tried to stop him.

Present Mic was talking about how there are dozens of robots scattered throughout various cities. Students would earn points by taking down robots with their quirks. However he was interrupted when a blue haired boy jumped up.

"Sir can I aask a question!" he said, in our pamphlet you gave us it shows four robots while the board has only three! And you, one with the green unruly hair!"

"Wait me?" Izuku asked.

"Yes you, you've been muttering non stop and distracting all of the other contestants! If you caan't take this exam seriously then leave the premises!"

Izumi stood up and shouted back, "Mind your own business Four eyes, you're the one causing a distraction. If you would let Present Mic explain that part, then maybe you would hear about it!"

"Um…. right, the 4th robot is basically a thwomp which is worth 0 points," Present Mic explained.

Later on, Izuku was dropped off in a city. He was looking at his book of techniques that he had written down as far as what he could do with OFA. He began to mutter once again. As he continued to mutter, he noticed the girl he met earlier.

"Hmm, maybe I should thank her for what she did," Izuku said.

He was about to walk over to her and wish her luck, however he was stopped by the blue haired man.

"And who exactly are you friend?"

It was the blue haired boy from earlier.

"Can't you see she's trying to keep her focus? Stop acting like such a distraction and leave her be, why can't you just..."

Izuku, finally having enough decided to stand up for himself. He was not gonna be the same punching bag for others anymore.

"Listen buddy, I don't appreciate you making false accusations on me," he said, "Are you that girl's boyfriend or something?"

"Well, not exactly," the boy said, "But you…"

"Then why do you care about what I'm gonna do or say to her? I don't care who you are, or where you come from, you don't have the right to be judgemental and assume things all the time," Izuku said, "I've had enough of it. I'm just gonna go and wish her luck. Now would you be so kind as to fuck off, mind your business, and let me get on with my life."

With that, he went over to talk to the girl.

"Pardon me, I just wanted to say good luck on the exam," he said to her.

"Oh thanks," the girl said, "Good luck to you as well. My name's Ochako Uraraka."

"I'm Izuku Midoriya," Izuku said, "What's your quirk?"

"I can make things float with my fingers," Uraraka explained with a smile, "How about you?"

"Well I…"

Before Izuku could explain, there was a horn going off, signaling the beginning of the exam. The students started rushing out into the field. Izuku channeled OFA around his body and dashed forward, as the sparks were dancing around his body. He saw a robot right in front of him and it was going in for the kill.

"Right, here goes..." Izuku said

However, Izuku was a bit paralyzed with fear, worried that he might not be able to do this, even with all the training he had. But then he realized that he had to do it, if he wanted to prove himself as a hero. He dashed forward at the robot and punched it. The robot was destroyed and he earned a point. Izuku started to realize he had what it took after all.

"I can do this!" he said.

Izumi was throwing fireballs at robots earning herself a few points. Meanwhile Yoshito was still stretching out. Present Mic saw that Yoshito was still standing there when the exam had already begun.

"Um... what's he doing?" he asked.

"Just watch," Midnight said, "My nephew has a trick up his sleeve."

Yoshito got done stretching and then got into a pose. He was charging up energy around his body and getting ready. Blue sparks of electricity were running through him. His hair also began to glow a lighter blue.

"Gotta go fast..." he said.

After a few seconds, he dashed away, faster than lightning. He drilled through robot after robot after robot taking them all down with ease. Although he was more of a leg combat kind of person, when he ran at fast speeds, he relied on his legs. Midnight was amazed at what he was capable of.

"Damn, your nephew is something else," Present Mic said, "But that Midoriya boy isn't too bad either."

"Well, he was trained by All Might himself," Principal Nezu said before turning his attention to Izumi, "And his twin sister certainly knows how to turn up the heat."

Izuku continued going around and fighting off robots. He saw a blonde boy in trouble and decided to try out his new special move. He stood still and focused OFA within his fingers and shot a gust of wind destroying the robot.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"Qui mon ami, grazi," the boy said.

He saw a robot behind Izuku and shot a lazer from his belly button

"I guess that's your quirk, its really impressive," Izuku said.

"Yours too young boy, I hope to see you in my class," the boy said, "Yuga Aoyama, the twinkling star at your service."

The exam continued, and dozens of examinees were earning a lot of points. However, the real test had only just begun. They all heard some rumbling. There was a giant robot heading their way. It was the giant zero pointer. It was going around stomping everywhere. The examinees were scared for their life.

"RUN!"

They all started to run. One of them bumped into Izuku making him fall on the ground. The robot was getting closer. Izuku was putting his fingers together, planning to use a Delaware Smash to push himself away from danger. However before he could do that, someone grabbed his arm and pulled him away. It was Uraraka. She made him weightless and carried him to safety.

"Whoa, you saved my life, again," Izuku said.

"Well that's what heroes are for right?" she asked.

Izuku saw people still running from the robot. He knew he had to do something. He channeled OFA throughout his body.

"Wait, Midoriya what are you doing?!" Uraraka asked.

"What a hero was made to do," Izuku answered, "Save people with a smile."

Izuku then jumped up to the robots face. He then bucked his fist up for a hard punch determined to take that robot down and save people. He also had a smile on his face.

"SMAAAAAAAAAAASH!"

As he punched the robot, the head got caved in and started falling back. He then found himself falling to the ground as well. He was falling to the height of a skyscraper. Just before he could touch the ground he found himself falling slowly. He looked and saw Uraraka making him float and they both fell down to the ground at a slow rate. She sighed in relief knowing he was ok.

"Release."

The two landed safely but Izuku found out both his legs were broken as well as his arm. His arm was glowing purple, probably from the overuse of his quirk. He used 100% again. Recovery girl then walked around healing everyone's injuries, before healing Izuku's.

"Thanks for that miss," Izuku said.

She then whacked him with her cane.

"If you want to thank me, then perhaps you should refrain from going full throttle like that all the time!" she snapped.

"Well, at least I got enough points to qualify," Izuku said to himself.

Yoshito and Izumi ran to his side worried for their friend/brother.

"Is he gonna be ok?" Izumi asked.

"He'll be fine deary," Recovery girl said with a smile, "But he's twice as stubborn as All Might was when he first used 'you know what'."

"Well, he constantly pushes himself to be the best hero," Izumi commented, "I'm amazed that he isn't built like One Punch Man or something."

"Ditto," Yoshito said, "Hey, is something burning or is it just me?"

His shoes were currently on fire from all the running he's done.

"Aw! Dammit! Not again!" Yoshito said making Izumi and Recovery girl sweat drop at this.
