Classic Sonic: I'm Sonic. The Sonic the Hedgehog from a classic past! Liking my stay in 2099 so far. Met other heroes like Captain America and Strange, and learned that the Time Factor is related to some ancient Time God called Solaris. But that's not all I learned. Somehow, Alchemax got their greedy hands on an old demon sword and have been studying it to create superweapons. What kind? Sounds like we're about to find out the hard way.

Issue 6: A Grimm Fate from Guillotine

Downtown, Nueva Vale

BGM-Mega Man Star Force OST-Home Town (Echo Ridge)

Downtown may be recognized as the pits of the city, but there is no other place that holds a better flea market. A mini festival of sorts opened outside the old Avengers Mansion, where civilians from across town come together to sell goods and just have a plain good time to liven their depressing surroundings.

"Thanks." A friendly salesman says to Summer, who just paid him for his fresh fruit after checking his vendor. "Stop by again soon, Sum. Always a pleasure to see you." He said to her with a smile.

"You sell the best fruit in the city. Why wouldn't I keep coming back." quips a smiling Summer, while she's putting her bought fruit in a bag. Once she did, she waves goodbye to the salesman saying, "I'll see you later!" before walking away from him. The scarlet huntress head towards Classic Sonic and Classic Tails checking out the other vendors and was quick to notice the fourth member of their little group has gone missing, "Where did Knuckles go?"

"Off hunting treasure around town since he doesn't have money to buy anything." says Sonic while holding an electric multi-neck guitar that he found at a vendor which strangely resembles his head, "Being a Master Emerald Guardian doesn't pay well when it's constantly stolen under his gullible nose." He quips, looking to buy the old guitar for himself.

"There's no reason for that. Anything you want to buy, just ask and I'll pay for it. Mother always taught me to treat guests with hospitality, even if they are other dimensions." The smiling Summer says, being a mother to her new friends so they'd feel comfortable in her world.

"Can you get me this?" Tails shows her a wide, futuristic yellow handheld device that he's interested in buying because of his keen sense of it being made from highly advanced technology.

Summer glances at his mobile terminal device, "Sure. That looks like last year's Sega Carrier. Still advanced enough to be used today, but that's not stopping the company from developing the xSaturn." She turns her head to Sonic while asking, "What do you want to buy, So-?" Immediately, she was cut off by Sonic flinging on the strings of the guitar that accidently shoots a laser that would've blasted Sum in the face if she didn't duck in time. "YOU NEARLY BLASTED MY HEAD OFF!" Sum shouts at the hedgehog with a stun stare of horror and anger.

The sheepish Sonic rubs the back of his quills saying, "Sorry, sorry. But that was so COOL! Didn't know this guitar could shoot lasers! Oh, I'm definitely keeping this baby." He smiles, quickly forgetting that he nearly killed Summer as he plays on his new guitar.

"Just be careful where you point that thing if you ever join a band." Sum dryly quips while handing the salesman money to pay for Tails's handheld and Sonic's guitar.

Right after, Sum hears her phone ringing in her pocket and takes it out to see that it's Miguel calling her. Without a word, she answers the call while placing it on her ear, "Hey Miggy. Any lucky finding the Blood Sword while I'm babysitting your kids?"

BGM-Spider-Man: Edge of Time OST-Fighting Enemies

'No time for jokes! You're in danger!' Miguel retorts frantically.

"From what? Nearly avoided getting blasted in the face by Sonic." Summer quipped.

'What did I say about jokes?! Listen! Alchemax is planning to destroy Downtown any second now!' shouts Miguel, which shocks a gasping Summer enough to take his warnings seriously.

Suddenly, Sum senses something burrowing underground. She was quick to leap back when several black large centipede-like creatures erupt from the ground. Those creatures are widely recognized as the Creatures of Grimm, specifically the Centinels, and accompanying them are Beowolves and Sulfur Fishes.

"Monsters!" A surprised Tails screams while standing next to Sonic and Sum. Everyone else at the flea market were quick to scream themselves as they run away from the Grimm destroying their vendors and all the stuff they planned to sell.

Summer scoffs with a cocky smile, "Heh. Is Alchemax retrying their Bio-Grimm project again? They know I could kill 'em with just a glare." She materializes her Scarlet Eclipse to wield before warping into action. She appears before a Centinel to slash into nothing, quickly avoiding the others' acid spit as she cuts through the monsters at impressive speeds whilst making her way towards a Beowolf. The wolf Grimm nearly strikes its claws on her if she didn't deliver a quick, teleporting roundhouse kick to the back that blows it away. She throws one of her kamas like a boomerang to kill other Grimm, which looked like the perfect time for a Sulfur Fish to lung strike her with its tail, but instantly regretted that action when the huntress used her other kama for a killer counterattack. Right as she catches her second kama, Summer jumps to the air to transform her weapons to their gun mode, massacring the grounded Grimm with rapidfire bullets before landing.

During the action, Miguel was commenting, 'Grimm are attacking Downtown just as Kaecilius is about to show up? That can't be a coincidence.'

A shocked Summer gasps upon hearing the name, "Kaecilius?" before switching to a look of seriousness, "Haven't heard that name in a while. What's that madman up to this time?"

'You two have history?' Miguel asked.

"One that involves him trying to kill me and nearly swallow the world into darkness." Summer quipped.

While she's distracted, a Nevermore is swooping towards her back at high speeds. But seconds before it could ambush her, the monster bird was shot down, much to Summer's notice as she turns to find it was a grinning Sonic who saved her with his new guitar weapon. "That old bird wasn't ready to rock!" He joked.

"Thanks, Sonic. Now hurry to Strange's place. We need help to contain this attack, then help Tails get civilians to safety! I'll go search for Knuckles!" Summer orders the Freedom Fighters.

"Righto! You two don't hog all the fun!" quips Sonic while racing towards the Sanctum Sanctorum. Three more Nevermores were quick to appear flying over the speedy hedgehog and fire their spearlike feather quills as he narrowly dodges all of them before jumping high to the sky. The Nevermores charge at him from different angles, but Sonic quickly avoids and kills them in a single Spin Attack just as the three accidently collide with each other. Right as the hedgehog lands on the street, he was tackled to the ground by one of three rampaging Sabyrs. And right as the Sabyrs turn around for another attack, Sonic was suddenly gone. He was quick to reappear sitting atop of a running Sabyr to tauntingly wave at another Sabyr, before quickly taking care of all three demon cats.

"Everyone, inside here!" shouts Tails, pointing fleeing civilians to hide inside Avengers Mansion.

Meanwhile, Summer combines her two kamas into a twin bladed staff while running towards a Grimm horde. Some of the Grimm look tough, but most of them were quick to fall from single swift strikes of her staff all while she's speaking to Miguel through their comms, "Downtown always had a Grimm problem, but incidents were more accidental from increased negative emotions. This attack is different. It's more organized, as if they're being led by someone."

'It has to be Kaecilius. Using Grimm to help him test Alchemax's new Guillotine weapon based on the Blood Sword to destroy Downtown. That way, Alchemax will have enough data to create an army of Guillotines!' Miguel informs her of Stone's plan.

"Can your father be any more heartless?" asks a stern-looking Summer, while she's pummeling a Berserker Grimm with a series of blinding blows from all directions until it's dead.

'He'll be more angry when I shut down his project at the source! Just stay safe in the meantime!' Miguel tells her.

"That'll be slightly difficult." Summer quips before being tackled and pinned to the ground by an Ursa, which roars savagely to her face. Merely disgusted by its breath, Summer easily warps out of its grasp to impale it from the back, killing it. And right after that, Classic Knuckles is suddenly flung her way and knocks her down again. "OW! Knuckles, are you okay? Where the shock were you?" She asks while standing up alongside the injured echidna.

"Hunting treasure when these monsters showed up out of nowhere." Knuckles answered, "Fought off tons while getting people to safety until that elephant flung me across the street." He gestures the huntress to an Alpha Megoliath Grimm rampaging on the streets towards them.

"A Megoliath here? And it looks to be the Alpha variety." Summer comments, recognizing that super-strong Grimm.

"Thing's as strong as a Super Badnik. And it's headed this way for another round!" Knuckles gets into a stern fighting stance while glaring at the Alpha Grimm charging towards them.

"Stand back!" Summer gestures her arm in front of the shocked echidna, "Leave this one to me!" She ordered.

Knuckles reluctantly complies, but gives a confused stare while watching Summer fearlessly walking towards the Alpha Megoliath that growing faster and faster, "How?! My fists couldn't crack that tusk! How do you even plan on slowing it down?"

Summer doesn't reply to the concerns of the echidna with anything but a few more steps until she positions herself between him and the Megoliath that is moments away from tackling her. The Grimm lets out a monstrous roar at the huntress, who simply gives a cocky smile in response right as the monster's massive foot looms over her entire body. But just when it looked like it was all over for the scarlet huntress, a bright flash of light erupts from her silver eyes and nearly blinds Knuckles if he didn't cover his own eyes. Seconds pass until the light disappeared, and when it did, Knuckles was utterly stun to see the Alpha Megoliath petrified into stone before it could stomp a calm and smirking Summer to death.

"HUUUUUH?!" Knuckles exclaims in total shock and confusion.

And to add insult to injury, Summer simply pokes the stoned beast's foot to topple it into scattered pieces on the ground. "How the HECK did you turn that thing into stone?! W-Was that from your Maiden powers?!" Knuckles frantically asks her.

"Nope. I just have really beautiful silver eyes." Summer sneers, teasing him about her special eyes that really could kill Grimm with a simple glare.

Knuckles scoffs in annoyance as he knows that he's being teased of the truth, but decides not to dive further as he crosses his arms saying, "You are one weird lady. Have all these crazy powers on top of being skilled with a weapon. Is there anything you CAN'T do?"

"I'm a terrible dancer and I can't lead a team for the life of me. But that's okay. I have enough on my plate as it is." Summer quips with a smile on her face, implying she wasn't the leader of her old Academy team unlike her grandmother and great-grandmother and is perfectly fine with that.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-The Fight Rages On

Their little conversation was cut short when another army of Grimm was magically summoned to surround the two heroes. Most of the Grimm are just Beowolves and Boarbatusks, but some of them are from the more powerful Alpha camp like Alpha Beowolves and Alpha Creeps that would provide a challenge for the duo. Knuckles and Summer stand back-to-back in defensive positions, as the former says, "I got this!" and prepares to use her silver eyes again.

"RRAAAAAAARGH!" But the huntress was interrupted by the roar of another beast. One more powerful than all these Grimm combined. Suddenly, a mysterious, muscular green goliath with menacing red eyes and long green hair leaps into the fray to pummel the Grimm with a flurry of savage punches, effortlessly killing each one with single attacks.

"Hulk?" A shocked Summer recognizes him as Hulk 2099, aka John Eisenhart and the powerful green smasher of the Defenders.

Hulk 2099 continues to massacre even the Alpha Grimm with ease, using his razor-sharp claws to uppercut an Alpha Beowolf into the air and quickly follow up with a roaring downward punch that was so powerful it sent the monster crashing into its fellow monsters in a frightening blitz.

"Calm down, Hulk. Leave some beasts for the rest of us." quips Valkyrie 2099, who is the same Asgardian goddess of the Heroic Age as she ventures into battle alongside the rest of the Defenders.

"Just TRY and stop me from havin' too much fun." quips Hulk while smacking the jaw out of an Ursa Major.

"With pleasure!" With a loud battle cry, Valkyrie slides under a Sphinx that spits fireballs at her to impale its underbelly with her mystical sword, Dragonfang, then spins the creature to smack away surrounding monsters before throwing the winged beast onto an Alpha Creep and impaling both of them to death with a leaping strike.

Nearby, Sub-Mariner 2099, the blue-skinned ruler of New Atlantis and boyfriend of Valkyrie, imbues water into his Trident so he may deliver a powerful thrust that blows away Grimm in a watery stream. Silver Surfer 2099, a legendary Defender and legendary cosmic herald, delivers a dash attack with his trusty board that he swiftly uses to smack Grimm before blasting them into oblivion with the power of cosmic light. Argyle the Crocodile, the young grandson of Vector the Crocodile, stuns a Beringel with his inherited powerful punches before whipping out a Laser Wispon to shoot the creature into disintegration. And then there's Strange 2099, the Sorceress Supreme and leader of these Defenders, using her magic to bind the remaining Grimm and cause them to implode in front of the awe-staring Summer and Knuckles.

"Are you two okay? Sorry we didn't appear sooner. We were quite cleaning the streets of Grimm around Downtown." Strange greets the two heroes.

"We could've handle those things on our own, but I suppose the backup is appreciated." Knuckles quips arrogantly.

Strange grins at him, "Of course. You are working with a Silver-Eyed Huntress."

"I still don't get why her eyes are so special." Knuckles grumbled.

The Grimm invasion has been quelled thanks to the timely arrival of the Defenders, but the heroes could still feel something is amiss as Sonic and Tails join the party. "Aw man, I better not have missed an awesome team-up with the Defenders." Sonic jokes, greeting Downtown's team of heroes with a smile.

"It has been a long time, Sonic the Hedgehog." Silver Surfer says, confusing Classic Sonic for the Sonic that he befriended decades ago.

"Do I know you, Surfer dude?" asks Classic Sonic while scratching his confused quills.

"Judging from your appearance, we have yet to meet in your timeline. Regardless, it is good to be reunited with an old friend." Surfer smiled.

"Stay on your guard, everyone. This battle isn't over yet." Strange rallies her allies, new and old, with a warning, "This wasn't an ordinary attack. Usually, the Grimm would react to intense negative emotions, but something else compelled them to strike."

"Yeah, like what?" Hulk asked stoically.

"I do not know. Strange magics are at the works." Strange replied.

"Magics belonging to Kaecilius." Summer provides the answer, which shocks the Sorceress Supreme.

"Him again? What is he up to this time?" Strange questioned.

"According to Spider-Man, destroy Downtown using Alchemax's new Guillotine weapon to gain enough data to build an army." Summer answered.

"Spider-Man?" Argyle remarks in shock that Spider-Man is helping them on this mission.

Strange frowns, "As I feared. Those corporate idiots have learned to harness the energies of La Fleur du Mal, and now it is in the hands of Kaecilius. We must do something about this growing darkness before it corrupts the whole city."

"Spider-Man is on his way stopping their project at the source, leaving us to defend Downtown from Kaecilius in the meantime." Summer proclaimed.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Threat from Beyond

But how could the Defenders defend their hometown when one of them couldn't defend themselves from a surprise attack. Specifically, it's the Hulk when he didn't notice someone with a demonic blade delivering a leaping slash on his back that topples him to an unconscious state. Everyone was surprised to see someone defeat the incredible Hulk with ease, and were just as surprised staring at the android Guillotine 2099 that was responsible for knocking out the Hulk with her Soulsplitter and scanning his body for a mysterious purpose.

"How quickly you failed to keep that promise." quips Kaecilius, making his appearance known as he calmly stands next to his new robotic ally so they may can confront the Defenders together.

Strange scowls at her mystical rival, "You! Kaecilius!"

"Sorceress Supreme…Still with the expression to defy fate." says Kaecilius through his emotionless mouth before magically summoning a pair of scythe daggers to wield in this coming battle, "I have already taken down your most powerful ally. Submit, or be soulless for eternity."

Both sides get into fighting positions for the upcoming showdown, with Strange standing in front of her Defenders with conjured glyphs over her palms and Kaecilius standing side-by-side Guillotine. 'Hey! What's going on over there?' Miguel asks Summer through their comm link.

Meanwhile at Alchemax's Robotics Facility…

BGM-Spider-Man: Edge of Time OST-Race Against Time

Spider-Man is using his incredible reflexes to pass through a tightly complex laser grid to shut down Project Red Flower at the source, all while Summer is talking in his ear, 'Well, Kaecilius just showed up and knocked out Hulk with a robot that's ripping off my style. Must be the Guillotine you mentioned. And now we're all fighting like crazy.'

After dodging the lasers, Spider-Man run towards two Public Eye officers guarding a suspicious door. The corrupt cops notice the vigilante coming and shoot him, but his reflexes were more than enough to dodge their shots with ease as he says, "It's difficult to take down a Hulk…" before uppercutting an officer out cold while continuing to say, "His soul must've been stolen. DIGITZED by its Soulsplitter, the sword based off the Blood Sword." and pummeling the other guard before kicking him out of commission.

'Digitizing souls? How evil can Alchemax be? Can't believe that's even possible!' A shocked Tails remarks, 'How can we retake his soul?'

"Not sure yet. For now, work with the Defenders and disable Guillotine as soon as possible. I'm at Alchemax's robotics facility to shut down their assembly line and retrieve the Blood Sword before they enter mass production!" Miguel replied.

With a little struggling, Miguel pries open the door those guards were guarding with their lives to enter the control room for the massive assembly line. And just mere seconds after walking into the room, the webhead was shocked to look through the window and see dozens of Guillotine 2099s in the assembly, some in the process of being assembled.

"Shock! They've already started mass production! All that'll be left is to enter the combat data from its fight with the Defenders." Miguel mutters, before quickly interacting with the main holo-computer, "Gotta cut the data flow and delete all files related to Project Red Flower before shutting down this whole facility! Lyla, gonna need you to locate the Blood Sword for me in conjunction!"

'On it!' Lyla complied.

It only took several seconds for the supergenius to cut off and erase any and all data regarding the Guillotines, their legacy, and the Blood Sword, nearly shutting down Project Red Flower. But just as the webslinger is in the process of shutting down the whole assembly line to complete his mission, several Public Eye rush into the room with their guns pointed at his back. "Hands off the console, webhead! You're under arrest!" An officer threatened, but Spider-Man just pretends he didn't listen and continues hacking the system. "Guessin' you're deaf! Meaning you won't hear this coming!" The Public Eye shoot at Spidey, who anticipated this as he backflips over their shots. Unfortunately, it was at the cost the console being destroyed before he could finish shutting down the facility.

'And just before I could finish shutting down the assembly.' Miguel muses, striking down the officers before they could react. He looks down at an unconscious officer to notice his armor is equipped with powerful energy grenades and decides to take them for himself, 'Good thing this moron came with my backup plan.' The webslinger jumps through the window, shattering it as he swings over the assembly line dropping the grenades to destroy it along with the incomplete Guillotines, setting the whole assembly on fire but not to the point of endangering the entire facility. "There. That'll piss off Stone for the next several weeks. All that is left to do is to get back the Blood Sword. Lyla?" He questions her for the info regarding the Sword's location.

'Just received its location. Head out the assembly into a hallway on the left side, then enter the third door on the right.' Lyla guides her boss into the lab where several scientists are studying the real Blood Sword that is on display, before Spider-Man web-yanks it to his hand.

"HEY, you miserable thief! We were studying that!" One of the scientists whines at the thief.

"Open your eyes and recognize that your studies are being used to murder innocent people over at Downtown!" Spider-Man told the scientists.

"It is?" An ignorant scientist questioned.

"You're a vigilante! Why should we believe you?" A corrupt scientist asks the webslinger.

Miguel sternly retorts, "I'm not the idiot playing with demonic forces from Hell that could wipe out mankind! Alchemax is! And I'm shutting down this demon army project of theirs permanently!" all to convince the scientists that Alchemax are the true evil destroying their city, which seems to be working on a few scientists. Swiftly, his Accelerated Vision picks up rapid gunfire aimed towards him from approaching Public Eye. He immediately swings away in response with the Blood Sword in his possession while contacting his friends, "Got the Sword and disabled their assembly line! Heading your way as we speak! How are you all holding up with Kaecilius and his Guillotine?"

Back at Downtown…

BGM-Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds OST-Hand Hideout (Medley)

"Just fine and dandy!" says a sarcastic Summer, grunting in an intense lock of weapons between her twin bladed staff and Guillotine's sword in the middle of the street. For a moment, both combatants struggle for dominance over the other, until Guillotine proves her robotic might by overpowering the huntress and knocking her back, allowing time to seamlessly cut through her Aura, wounding her, before releasing a blast of excess soul energy from her Soulsplitter to send her flying onto a building.

Classic Tails comes to check on his friend and notice her bloody wound. "You're hurt!" He exclaims with concern along a surprised look.

"I'll heal…" Summer grunts, shaking her head while standing back on her feet. "She's tougher than I thought. Her sword can disrupt my Aura with just a touch, leaving me a lot more vulnerable than I would like. Gotta hand it to Alchemax. They know how to build their annoying war machines." She scowls at Guillotine.

Nearby, Argyle is examining Hulk's unconscious body lying on the ground and is trying to figure out why he won't wake up. "You usually don't sleep this weird. What's wrong with you, Hulk?" The mobian crocodile tries budging him in a way that'll wake him in fury, but that shockingly doesn't work. "Hey guys! Hulk's not waking up! Any idea why?"

"You tell us! You're the detective!" Sub-Mariner quips whilst clashing with Kaecilius.

"A decent one!" Argyle retorted, "I'm better at hacking machines, not examining gamma-infused bodies!" He stares down at Hulk's body again, "He's not dead from what I can tell. The wound he received from that robot has healed, but he's not showing any signs of waking up."

"His soul has been stolen by that Guillotine imposter! Destroying it should free his soul!" says Strange, while having her mystical blast blocked by Kaecilius's glyph shield.

"All over it!" quips Valkyrie, entering a brief struggle with the death bot. This provided the opening for the goddess to legsweep her, then follow up with a powerful blade uppercut that knocks the robot to the air. The relentless Asgardian jumps, trying to go for another attack, but Guillotine temporarily splits her blade in two to surprise her and unleash a series of devastating blows in rapid succession that manages to knock down the powerful war goddess, but not out of the battle for very long. Valkyrie quickly springs back into action to clash intensely against Guillotine's blades, keeping her in a position for Tails to Spin Attack her head, stunning her for Silver Surfer to slam a powerful cosmic beam upon her from the skies.

Having been wounded by their combined efforts, the silent Guillotine jumps high into the air for recovery, but that wasn't enough to escape the teleporting powers of Summer as she brutally smacks the deathbot onto the wall of a building. The huntress professor bounces off the wall across from her for decapitation, only for Guillotine to quickly jump away from her swing and slice off a portion of that rooftop building. The debris would've crashed onto the shocked huntress if Valkyrie didn't suddenly slice it into pieces while running the wall to pursue the superweapon, leaping into the air to have another epic clash between blades with neither warrior showing any mercy or opening. That is, until Valkyrie finds a small opening to land a severe blow on Guillotine so hard that her head turns towards Surfer, which gives her a demonic idea. Guillotine bounces off of Valkyrie towards Surfer, throwing her blades to pierce deep within his screaming soul before holding him in place atop his own board as soon as she lands on it. She scans his soul for digitization, which she was successful the second she retakes her blades and Surfer's now soulless body crashes to the ground along with his board.

"The Guillotine has now acquired the Surfer's soul! Along with the Hulk's and her own demonic power, her strength has reached further heights." A horrified Valkyrie comments on Guillotine's increased power.

With a single swing of her empowered Soulsplitter, Guillotine unleashes a powerful mixed blast of soul and cosmic energy that easily sends the likes of Summer, Valkyrie, and Tails flying through a building until they painfully crash into the ground. "That's gonna leave a mark…" Summer painfully quips while trying to stand alongside her fallen friends, "Any of you over there want to trade opponents?" She asks the heroes that are clashing with Kaecilius.

"Nah." quips Sonic while backflipping over a cross slash from Kaecilius, "Havin' too much fun beating this bozo." The blue hedgehog launches a Spin Attack that was quickly blocked by the sorcerer and his mystic shield, which repels him with an energy blast.

Suddenly, Kaecilius feels a slight tremor beneath him and looks down, only to be uppercutted into the air by a burrowing Knuckles that sent him to be slammed back to the ground by Sub-Mariner's trident. Sub-Mariner immediately dashes at Kaecilius and locks weapons with him, until the villain knocks him back and quickly combines his martial arts with his black magic to strike Sub-Mariner, causing him to momentarily have an out of body experience. Kaecilius dash-kicks his body into the astral body, knocking down Sub-Mariner right before being assaulted by Sonic. The blue blur runs around his foe in a circle, striking him at hypersonic speeds while doing so, until Kaecilius unleashes a mystical burst to show him a surprise. That surprise being the Mirror Dimension where Sonic was deflected into, where the whole world appears to have been flipped to the side. "Why is the world suddenly sideways?!" Sonic frantically yells in surprise. Upon entering the Mirror Realm, Kaecilius gains access to all of his powers, shaping reality and catching Sonic off-guard before summoning multiple glyphs to blast him out of the dimension. Thankfully for the hedgehog, he was magically caught by Strange before he was flung out of Downtown.

"Man, this guy's tricks are annoying! Who is he anyway?" Knuckles asks for info regarding Kaecilius, while Strange safely puts down Sonic.

Strange answers, "Kaecilius was once the student of a powerful sorcerer when he discovered a darker use for his mystical abilities and has since used them to fulfill a villainous purpose, which requires him to seek out the powerful secrets of the multiverse."

"Like opening a portal to a Dark Dimension to harness its powers and nearly destroy the city in the process!" quips Argyle while trying to blast down Kaecilius, but the annoying sorcerer keeps deflecting his shots.

"And once your souls are mine, I will gain further knowledge to unlock the multiverse and save this world from itself!" says Kaecilius, dropping down a teleporting glyph to surprise Argyle before smacking him away.

"Still speaking crazy. No wonder you're a Zealot." quips Strange, orchestrating three Flames of the Faltines in a fiery symphony that pushes back the crazed zealot.

And though it has gained the souls of both Hulk and Silver Surfer, Guillotine can't seem to put Valkyrie down for the count in their little duel. Their blades keep sparking from every clash, and both combatants grit their teeth as they frantically try to overpower the other in brutal, violent action. The Asgardian Goddess versus the Alchemax Deathbot, as their duel is being watched by Summer and Tails side-by-side, with the latter having an idea in mind that could turn the tides to their favor.

"I have an idea to beat her!" Tails says to the curious huntress, "First, what type of magic can you use?"

"Elemental. And a few extra spells Strange taught me that I haven't mastered yet." Summer answered.

"Good enough. Can you summon lightning to short circuit Guillotine? No matter how many souls she absorbs, she's still a robot that's vulnerable to high amounts of electricity. While she's distracted, you can weaken her!" Tails proposed his idea to her that should help them defeat Guillotine.

Summer smiles at the smart fox, "Worth a shot." She then turns her gaze to the distracted Guillotine fighting Valkyrie, as her eyes glow with the mystical energies of the Summer Maiden. She holds her staff vertically and high to the sky, forming a dark cloud over the unsuspecting robot. "THUNDARA!" She shouts, summoning a powerful lightning bolt to strike Guillotine, electrocuting her to the point she screams in robotic pain as her holographic hood dissipates.

"That's a shocking way to flare me your position." quips Spidey 2099, announcing his presence to his friends as he swings towards them with the Blood Sword.

Noticing the webslinger, Summer stops her attack on the weakened Guillotine to smile happily at him, "Spider-Man!"

"Would've gotten here sooner if I didn't have to give the Public Eye the runaround." Spidey said while nearing his friends.

At the same time, Valkyrie prepares to impale Guillotine to her destruction when the robot suddenly warps out of her sight, leaving the goddess confused and concerned as she fears a surprise attack coming to someone. Summer snarks at Miguel with, "Should've played with them a little longer. We have everything under-." until a devastating attack stuns her directly to her soul. Literally, as Guillotine reappeared to use her Soulsplitter to pierce the distracted huntress's soul before holding her in place for digitization.

"SUUUUM!" Miguel yells in absolute horror. In instant fury, he launches a devastating Web Strike towards Guillotine, but it was too late as she dodges his attack right after digitizing Summer's soul. The sadden webhead holds the huntress's soulless body, frantically trying to shake her awake shouting, "Summer! WAKE UP! C'mon! This isn't time for one of your jokes! Jammit…" But no matter what he does, it's obvious that Summer isn't waking up without her soul restored. He recalls the memory of his ex-fiancé, Dana D'Angelo, when she died during a battle with Scorpion 2099, which leaves him even more depressed as this is a repeat of losing another love one to his heroics, "Not again…Shouldn't have distracted you like that…"

"Her soul has only been digitized! We can still save her along with the others if we defeat Guillotine!" says Tails, giving Miguel hope that his friend's soul could still be saved if he keeps fighting.

"Easier said than done, young fox, as Guillotine is now in possession of a Maiden soul!" Valkyrie remarks, right before Guillotine uses her new Maiden powers to unleash a barrage of lightning bolts that blow away the three heroes, though Spider-Man was able to protect the soulless Summer during the attack.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Bring on the Bad Guys

Spider-Man gently puts down Summer's body in a safe place so he may exact vengeance against Guillotine and recover her soul. With the Blood Sword in his hand, and a silent glare of killing intent aim at the merciless android, Spider-Man wastes no time battling her.

And while Spider-Man and Guillotine clash, so does Strange and Kaecilius with their magic. The Sorcerer Supreme conjured a mystic sword that is blocked by her rival's own mystic weapons, but this reveals an opening for her to exploit as she shouts, "Spell of Vishanti!" to summon a massive pillar of energy beneath Kaecilius, knocking him into the air.

Quickly, Kaecilius reorients himself in midair to shout, "Daggers of Daveroth!" unleashing a swarm of energy daggers that relentlessly seek out Strange's flesh and bone. The Defender conjures glyphs on both hands, using them to deflect as many daggers as she could until Kaecilius opens portals in the sky that rain down large rocks, with one of them knocking down the Sorcerer Supreme. While Argyle and Sub-Mariner deflect the falling rocks, Sonic homing-attack several to push back Kaecilius while Knuckles rushes towards him for the finishing blow.

Kaecilius smirks at the ignorant echidna as he prepares to trap him in the Mirror Dimension where he will suffer a humiliating death, but Strange saw this ploy coming from a mile away as she says, "Not happening this time. Rings of Raggadorr!" She slams her palm to the ground to conjure massive clock-like glyphs that converge beneath Kaecilius to shatter his incantation and freeze him in time, just in time for Knuckles to deliver a devastating punch across his face to knock him out for good.

Meanwhile with Guillotine, she is approaching her final rope as she jumps away from Valkyrie's leaping spin slash, only to be webbed by Spider-Man and violently thrown towards Tails, who knocks her back with a charged Spin Dash. That impressive combo not only hurt, it causes the android to scowl in rage as she uses her stolen Maiden powers to create a large fireball in front of herself before hitting it up into the air causing smaller fireballs to rain down upon her annoying foes. Tails was blown away by one fireball while Valkyrie is forced to stay put to deflect the ones homed on her, leaving only Spider-Man to swing towards Guillotine for the final attack.

"Come and get some, you heartless corporate tool! You're returning those souls even if I have to SMASH THEM out of you!" Spidey angrily taunts the android as he launches his Web Strike. Just as he zips into range, Guillotine slashes him with killing intent and kills him. But to her surprise, she only destroyed an Accelerated Decoy that was quickly left behind by the real one, who appears to brutally Web Strike her back and smash her to the streets to be violently impaled by the Blood Sword, finally destroying the robotic successor to the Guillotine family.

And right after Miguel destroys the Soulsplitter, the souls it digitized were released and returned to their original bodies. Hulk, Silver Surfer, Summer. One by one, they regain their souls and stand up feeling dazed and confused but very alive.

Hulk yawns himself awake as he stands saying, "What a terrible time to go to sleep. What the shock happened to me?"

"Our souls were stolen, but we have regained them." Surfer replied.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man hurries to check on the awakened Summer and softly asks, "Are you okay?" while helping her stand.

"Yeah…Had wonders what it'd be like to live without a body. Not pleasant." Summer jokes while rubbing her head, then smiles gratefully at Miguel, "Thanks for the save." Miguel smiles behind his mask, but his guilt of her losing her soul quickly made him lose that smile and turn his head away from her, much to her concern. "Don't turn away. What's wrong?" She softly asks while grabbing his left arm.

Miguel pauses for a moment, before yanking his arm out of her grasp with, "…Nothing." He silently walks away from the huntress, leaving her sad and worried for him as she can tell something is bothering him deep to his soul.

"So what're ya gonna do with him? Throw 'im into prison?" Sonic asks Strange, while the Defenders take the unconscious Kaecilius to their custody.

"One in another dimension where he won't escape." Strange quipped.

"2099 doesn't have its own prisons?" Sonic quips with a snarky grin.

"We do, but most of them are owned by Alchemax. Can't risk them freeing him for another dirty job." says Strange, before turning to notice Spider-Man approaching her with the Blood Sword. She smiles, "Long time no see, S-Man. You have my gratitude for recovering Fleur du Mal for me."

Miguel hands her the ancient blade while solemnly saying, "Just promise me you'll hide it where no maniac will steal it again. A lot of innocent people were hurt today because of this thing. By those who refuse to learn their lesson…" He said while staring at the ground in depression, hinting to Strange of what's bothering him.

The Sorcerer Supreme gives him a solemn stare for a brief moment, before nodding in understanding of his problems and worries, "I understand. You can count on me." She then places her gentle hand on his shoulder, "Just as you should count on yourself to never let darkness sink your soul into despair."

Tilting his head in confusion of what she means, Spider-Man nonetheless swings out of Downtown to head home for the rest of the day while his friends stick around to watch him leave. "What's bothering him?" asks a confused Argyle while approaching Sonic.

"The stress of the superhero life." Sonic answers the crocodile with a calm expression, "Though the day is saved, it doesn't guarantee tomorrow will be any better. And if it keeps repeating like this, he'll end up throwing the towel." He says, knowing that his spider-friend is on the verge of quitting his heroic activities forever if his confidence isn't restored soon.

BGM-Kirby: Planet Robobot OST-Secretary Susie's Theme 1

In a secret high security laboratory located somewhere within Alchemax Tower, there is a pretty mysterious woman in the middle of analyzing important data. A scientist that is dressed in a green and yellow suit, that comes equipped with six dangerous tentacles that are conducting multiple experiments at once. Unethical experiments like addictive drugs, gene splicing, human testing, you name it. She is the maniacal genius among the greatest scientists in Nueva Vale. The Director of Alchemax's Shadow Division. She is known as Doctor Serena Patel to her colleagues, but to her enemies, she is feared as the Doctor Octopus of 2099. And right now, she is about to be greeted by Tyler Stone, as he enters her lab unannounced with a serious, annoyed look on his face. One that Serena could already tell without turning to face him.

"I was expecting you, Mr. Stone. Here to vent about Project Red Flower's termination, no doubt in my brilliant mind." Patel says arrogantly.

"Thanks to Spider-Man and his annoying friends. My robotics facility is in shambles, halting mass production on my super-robots! Not only that, my prototype is destroyed and all data related to the Guillotines have been erased thanks to that insufferable bug! It'll take FOREVER to restart the project!" Stone vents out his frustration with furious gestures, until her calms himself enough to say, "That is, unless YOUR project is a success."

Patel finally turns around to snark, "You forgotten who I am already? I am Serena Patel, the GREATEST scientific genius in the world! Never mistake that my project WILL be an absolute success!" She says egotistically. "There is no one else in this city that have studied this ancient technology during their multiversal ventures besides me. Thanks to my unrivaled experience, I have upgraded this technology to total perfection."

"Which didn't work on Ox Fire." An unconvinced Stone crosses his arms, implying that the rampage caused by Ox Fire was a part of this secret Alchemax experiment.

"That bull was just a test dummy, as was that prototype Guillotine." Patel casually waves off his concerns while returning to her work console. "What I'm working on is the real deal. The ultimate combat android, born from my impeccable genius combining ancient technology with the most advanced science 2099 has to offer! Though Spider-Man erased most of the data, I was clever enough to salvage remnants, even the data of those three imbeciles the Guillotine briefly digitized before its destruction."

"Then I should count myself lucky we dug up its remains." Stone smiles evilly. "Still, I would rather my ultimate weapon NOT resemble a rodent. But if it can get the job done, then I'll stop complaining." He jokes, while he and Patel stare at the floating display containing the remains of a legendary robot of the Heroic Age. An evil robot that was among the most powerful of its creator's creations. A machine that strangely resembles that blue hedgehog, Sonic. It is the infamous Super Badnik, Metal Sonic, and he will soon be rebuilt into the ultimate superweapon for Alchemax that'll finally crush Spider-Man once and for all.
