I have come up with a whole new story after this one is over; title, plot, and everything. I'm going to start writing this as soon as school ends, which is the 28th, as well as when I'm down with this story. I am also going to have a series of one-shots within a story of the events that take place between this fic and the sequel to this, so stay tuned! This has been such a good first fic, and I have loved writing more than I ever thought I would. This chapter is a bit shorter than normal (sorry ;-;), but I needed to cut it down so I can start the next chapter in a good spot. I hope you like :).

Aang pulled past the gate and up to the gang's spot, which of course, was right in the perfect place since Sokka was known as the king around these parts. He parked the car next to the tent and walked over to everyone.

Sokka greeted Aang with a fistbump. "What's going on, brotha. You pumped to race?" he asked.

"Hell yeah, man. I don't see any car beating the GTR," Aang replied.

Aang walked over to Katara, completely distracted by the races, and greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. Immediately knowing who it was, she turned around and jumped on him, so happy that he was here.

"Nice to see you too, Katara," he laughed. She responded with a kiss on his lips.

Sokka groaned in disgust. "Could you two please keep your oogies to yourself? We're in public, for crying out loud!"

Suki came over and sat in Sokka's lap. "Cheer up, Sokka, and let them live. Be happy that your sister is happy."

"Fine. But at least don't do it in front of me, please?" Sokka grunted.

Suki smiled widely. "Excellent! Now I should get going. My race starts soon."

Sokka kissed Suki on the cheek, and she ran off to get in her car. As he sat back down, he noticed that Katara shook her head in the corner of his eye. "What?" he asked.

Katara chuckled. "Oh, nothing. It's just that you're a flaming hypocrite, is all."

Aang picked up Katara, sat down, and put her on his lap. She warmly accepted his embrace. "Let's not fight today, shall we?" he said. "Today is supposed to be a fun day after all!"

Jet looked over from the side and mumbled profanities at Aang under his breath. Aang couldn't hear them, but even if he could, he was too focused on being enamored by Katara.

Suki pulled her car up to the starting line. A man pulled up to her left, her opponent. They got time to get set, and the man used that time to try to taunt Suki and try to get her off her game.

"Hey, baby. You should watch from the side. I wouldn't want to get exhaust on that pretty face of yours," he said to her.

Suki didn't even give him the satisfaction of looking him in the eye while talking to him. "How about you put your money where your mouth is," she said casually.

"I'll race you for that sweet little ass," he said back with a wink.

Suki, now done with his shit, gave him an ultimatum. "Let's raise the stakes then, shall we? If you win, you get this two thousand and my praise. If you lose, I take your two thousand, your dignity that you seem to think you have, and my boyfriend gets to beat you to a pulp for talking to me like I'm some skank," she said with a smirk. "How does that sound?"

The man swallowed a big lump in his throat but was determined to win more than ever. "You're on," he said.

The light turned green, and they were off. Neither racer could take the lead. Unluckily for the guy, his car didn't have nitrous; Suki's did. So as they neared the finish line, she injected the nitrous into her engine, and off she went like a rocket. The guy didn't see it coming, and within seconds, he was down two thousand on the day. Not to mention the beating he supposedly was going to get from her boyfriend. Suki was never going to make Sokka beat him up, but internally, she wanted him to.

Suki drove back to the tent and walked over to the gang with a pep in her step, as she was two thousand dollars richer than she was five minutes ago.

Sokka came up to her and gave her a big bear hug. "Nice job out there, babe. I knew you were going to win! Are you taking me out to dinner with the new cash?"

"We'll see how well you behave, then I'll consider it," she said with a smirk.

The next up to race was Sokka. "Alright, guys, I'll be right back. Time to show some unfortunate racer who's the boss around here," he said. As he got up from his chair, he kissed Suki on the head and took off.

Sokka's opponent pulled to the line with swagger. His head was held up high, and he had no doubt he'd win the race. That was until he looked to his right and saw Sokka. His smile faded, and he began to sweat. Sokka knew the effect he had on some racers, and he loved it. All Sokka had to do was wink at him, and the man started to shake.

Sokka could tell that his opponent lost all his confidence about winning, and he'd use that to his advantage. The light turned green, and they were off to the races. It ended up being a blowout. Being too nervous, Sokka's opponent shifted gears too early, and Sokka capitalized on it. He ended up beating the guy by almost three car lengths.

After the race, he pulled his car back up to the tent. He was greeted by his friends congratulating him on his blowout victory. Fistbumps from Jet, Zuko, and Toph, a high-five from Aang and Katara, and lastly, a kiss from Suki. He loved his life and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Last but not least, it was time for Aang's race. He had gotten a lot of experience in the past few weeks, especially almost beating Sokka. So he had confidence that he could win.

"Go get 'em, tiger," Katara told him as she kissed him on the lips. Aang felt his head swirl at her lips on his. There was no better feeling in the world.

Sokka groaned once again. "Hey, you two! Race now, oogies later," he complained.

Aang shouted over to Katara as he walked to the car. "I'm winning this for you, Kat!" he said with a lopsided grin on his face. Katara blushed at his nickname for her as she waved back to him. I think I'm in love with that boy, she thought with another blush.

As Aang pulled up to the starting line, he looked over to see his opponent. The car was a murdered out Honda S2000. The engine sounded nothing like an S2000, though, which most likely meant the engine was hand-built. Aang gulped, he knew he could beat this guy, but he wondered who could have the money for all these upgrades.

The window of the car rolled down, and none other than Hahn Eyak himself appeared. Aang shuddered a little bit internally. Out of all the people he expected to see, Hahn was certainly not one of them.

Determined to win, Aang turned his head forward and focused on the finish line. The light turned yellow, and the racers put their cars into gear. For Katara, win this for Katara, Aang. You got this.

Once again, the light turned green, and both cars sped off. The race was close the entire time. Both racers were looking for the right time to use a nitrous boost. As they neared the end, Aang decided to take the initiative and boost first. Normally, this would guarantee you lose, but it would work out in his favor since they neared the end. Hahn used a nitrous blast as well, but he was too late, and Aang crossed the finish line just before Hahn did.

Aang's smile was from ear to ear. He had won the race! His opponent, on the other hand, was not too happy. As Aang got back to the tent, he got pats on the back from most, a noogie from Sokka, and unsurprisingly, a big hug and kiss from Katara.

As nice as the moment was, it soon came to a close, as in the distance, the gang could see a black car pull up towards their tent. Sokka was too busy cuddling with Suki to see who it was, and Zuko shook him to let him know that trouble was coming. "Sokka, Sokka, get up, we got company," he said to him. Sokka sat up and saw Hahn's car and his fists clenched. "What the hell is he doing here?"

Hahn got out of his car and walked up to Sokka. "I'm gonna make this quick, Aluutiq. Someone narked to the cops, and I'm sure it was one of your pals."

"You better watch your tone, Hahn. No one here narked. That's not how we ride," Sokka said with a serious tone.

Not getting the answers he was looking for, he started to yell. "SWAT broke into my house, Sokka! They kicked down my door and disrespected my entire family!"

Sokka just turned around and walked back to the tent. "Sorry, Hahn, but you're not going to find answers here, so I suggest you leave."

Hahn, on his final straw, threw the blame on Sokka. "You know what, Sokka, I bet it was you! You narked to the cops, didn't you?" Hahn yelled.

Sokka stopped his walk back to the tent. He reached his breaking point. No one was going to disrespect his family in front of everyone like this, and he wasn't going to let it slide. He turned around, walked back over to Hahn, and threw a punch square in the jaw. Both men fell over, and Sokka continually landed blows to Hahn's face for a minute until Jet and Zuko decided it was time to pull him away.

"Get off of him, man," Jet said, grabbing Sokka's left arm.

Zuko followed suit. "Sokka, chill out, man. Come on!" he said and grabbed Sokka's other arm.

As they pulled Sokka back, he screamed back to Hahn. "I never narked on anybody! Do you hear me? I don't nark!"

Hahn sat there for a second; he smiled at Sokka's outburst as he spat out blood onto the asphalt.

After everything started to settle down, everybody at Race Wars either went home or stayed in their tents for dinner. The gang decided earlier that they'd stay after and have dinner as a family. As usual, Sokka would lead in a prayer before they ate and dug in as soon as the last word was recited. While they ate, everyone was talking about various things.

Sokka and Suki talked about traveling down south to a place called Zunuchu, where the weather was nothing but sunny, the beaches were endless, and the water was a beautiful blue. Soon they wouldn't have to worry about money, and they could spend as much time traveling the world together that they wanted to.

Toph talked about how she might try to go back to school and get a degree. Maybe she could find a job later on in life that pays well and makes her as happy as she is now.

Zuko said he'd like to help his uncle Iroh open up a tea shop in the city. He said his uncle would call it the Jasmine Dragon. After that, he talked about rekindling a relationship with a longtime friend of his, Mai.

As for Jet, well, Jet didn't have any plans for the future. Knowing him, he'd end up just racing, going to clubs, and sleeping around. Everyone silently hoped he would fix himself and change his ways because they knew he had potential.

Lastly, Aang and Katara talked about their hopes and aspirations for the future. Katara said she always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor, as she has always loved the idea of helping others. Aang mentioned that he always had an eye for social work because helping others out when they can't help themselves always made him happy. He couldn't tell the gang he was a cop, obviously, but he always had a passion for social work.

After a long night of jokes, laughter, and happiness, the gang left the airstrip and headed home. Jet, Zuko, and Toph went their separate ways while Katara, Aang, Sokka, and Suki went to their rooms back at the house.

"Make sure you have everything ready for tonight," Sokka said to Suki.

"Everything was packed before we left for Race Wars. Don't worry," she said with a smile.

Sokka laid back on the pillow and sighed happily. Everything was going as planned. Soon, he'd have no worries and his beautiful girlfriend by his side relaxing on the beaches of Zunuchu.

"You should get some sleep. I have the alarm set for 4 am. Toph can't make it, but Jet and Zuko will meet us here before we go," Sokka said.

"Sounds good, goodnight Sokka," Suki said.

Katara awoke to sounds of talking and bags being zippered closed. She got up to investigate, but not before whimpering at a loss of Aang's arms around her. She could've chosen to ignore the noise and snuggle back in with Aang, but her curiosity got the best of her.

As she walked down the stairs, she saw Sokka and Suki packing stuff up and what looked like Zuko and Jet waiting in their cars.

As she reached the bottom of the stairs, Sokka turned around with a guilty face, as if he had been caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar. "Oh, hey sis, you scared me half to death. What are you doing up?" he said, trying desperately to deescalate the situation.

Katara wasn't stupid. She was fully aware of their little 'jobs'. She had allowed them to go in the past because she trusted Sokka, but something about this one felt off today, and she didn't want them to go. "I have respected you, and I haven't said shit. Now I am asking you not to go. Today doesn't feel right, and I worry something bad will happen," she pleaded.

Sokka tried to convince her that the pros outweighed the cons, but she wouldn't budge. "I'm doing this for both of us, Katara. For all of us," he said.

"Don't give me that crap, Sokka. You're doing this for you."

Not wanting to fight anymore, Sokka got up and left with Suki. As the door slammed shut, Aang awoke from his sleep. He opened his eyes to see the other half of the bed empty, so he got out and walked downstairs to see a teary-eyed Katara.

"Katara? What's going on, and why were you crying?" Aang said worriedly.

"It's nothing, Aang," she said.

"You always have tears in your eyes when Sokka leaves in the middle of the night? Come on, Kat, you have to tell me what's going on, or I can't help. What is he racing off in the middle of the night for?" he said back to her.

He wondered why everyone would be leaving at such a weird time, but then it hit him. Shit, the job! They're going for it right now! He thought.

It was now or never for Aang. He had hoped he'd never have to tell Katara the truth, but if Aang wanted to keep his job and save Sokka and the gang, he needed to break his cover.

"Katara, I need you to tell me where they are going. They're going to be walking right into a trap," he said in a serious tone. She stumbled back. "How would you know Sokka, Suki, and the guys are in danger, Aang? He never told you," Katara said. She was at a loss for words. This didn't seem like her Aang at all.

Aang knew there was no point in keeping it from her now. " Katara, I'm a cop. I've been undercover since the first time we met at the sandwich shop," he admitted. His heart broke as he spilled the truth to her.

Her tears continued to flow, but her emotion turned to anger. "How could you, Aang? How could you do this to us? To me!" she pleaded.

"Katara…" he said as he went to reach for her. She pulled away, not wanting to even look at him at that moment.

"Katara, I want you to know that everything I have ever said to you, I meant it. All the things we have done together were the best moments in my life. I swear to God. But this isn't about you and me right now. Your brother is out there about to pull a job, and we're running out of time. Those truckers aren't laying down anymore. Maybe they'll make it through tonight, but every law enforcement agency is coming down on them. If you don't want anything to happen to Sokka to Suki to Zuko or Jet, you have to get in that car with me right now and help me. Katara, you are the only person that can help me right now. Please, Kat. Please help me," he said with all his might.

Katara wasn't sure how to feel at that moment, but she knew she wanted to do what she could to help save Sokka and her friends. "Fine. Let's go," she said.

They walked out of the house, got in the GTR, and drove as fast as they could to the highway, hoping they'd have a shot at saving their friends from making a terrible choice.
